Aletheia, you try self. It would appear our brother Tonye thinks: different administrations = different "ministries" . . . and by administration, he equates that to something along the lines of each one running their own seperate "organization". When in the biblical reality, administration simply refers to different gifts - not each one given their own organization to run. It is: different gifts, working together towards the same ministry, the ministry we've all be been charged with of making disciples. And if we are one body working towards building Christ's church, will the hand ever say to the leg "wetin concern me with your ministry?" or will the eye say to the hand "you no fit come preach for my church since we get different 'ministry'"? will the mouth reject the foot and say "my own no concern you oh!" . . . but yet, T-boy is insisting they have "different administrations" and "one no concern the other". This Tonye likes to chase his tails. I will not encourage him anymore in such exercises in futility .Omo~fat, na you jare . Thanks for the kind words. aletheia: nice work Dr.! |
James was the pastor of the church in Jerusalem, he took over leadership from Peter. Probably because he was a blood brother to Jesus christ Paul that was more anointed would not even talk to his elders like that. The bible records that those who troubled paul's ministry in galati a were from James. He was their pastor, the scripture above is enough evidence of his doctrine. Who will dare challenge James the mighty, THE LOOOORDS BROTHER? Even "Pope" Peter feared James. We can forget paul's account how Peter came to visit Paul and ate with the gentiles which was against James teachings, but some of James disciples came , Peter ran! just wow. If I ever saw a trainwreck of a post that was simultaneously tragic and hilarious, this is one. Oya Joagbaje come and answer oh! |
Less than a month ago I was in Athens. It's about 10pm in the evening and we're walking back to our hotel downtown and suddenly we hear screaming and shouting. Four black women questionably dressed were running towards us shouting but at the same time laughing as an older greek man was chasing them. As they ran by us laughing and shouting, I could immediately tell by their words they were Nigerian women. "Ah hurry up now!" "na wetin" "see that old man" "haha" etc etc . . . the old white man was holding up his pants as he ran past us chasing them. I figured they had probably just robbed him of something. Moments after, the police ran by us pursuing them. I just shook my head and walked on not waiting to see what would happen. Its riff-raffs like these that are ruining our name all over the world. |
PastorJoe, it has nothing per say to do with the thread. It has everything to do with my last conversation with you. I figured since you didn't get the chance to return there, I'd get that off my chest here. As for my compliment, I meant every single word of it. |
This post suffers one ailment - myopia. Thankfully, it can be easily corrected with converging lens to put things in proper perspective and context.
Oh this is what has always made me fall in love for this chick! comon i thought you've outgrown this. . . And while you are still on the leave-it-at-that state, let me complete that passage you did not end 1 Cor 3:4-9 4 For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men? 5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe — as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. NIV Now dont you think he who plants has virtually no business with the one who waters. ITS CALLED MINISTRIES my sister
My dear Tonye (I still like this guy in spite of his stubborness), -it is one thing to have 2 people working within the same vineyard - one plants and one waters - this is what Paul is describing. -And it is quite another to have 2 men operating 2 different & seperate vineyards - this is the case with Oyedepo and Oyak. To prove this is infact the case, answer one simple question - does Oyakhilome send 'converts' from his church to Oyedepo for 'watering'? or vice versa? since they have specific "ministries"? or are they both do-it-all pastors that can sow, gather, plant, water, reap, harvest?
Ouch. Soaring oratory. Very MLKish
lol |
Na 3 times you call me .If you're insulted, allow me to do my job. |
Joagbaje:You know I really thank God for your presence here. And I mean that honestly. You're such an invaluable asset to NL. We get to see how the mind of a modern-day 'pastor' works. It is laid bare for those of us that might not otherwise get a chance to see, so we can get some understanding of how this crafty empire operates, an empire that was long prophesied and is built on the calcified bones of the departed gullible, and nourished on the souls of the living zombies to whom false hopes are sold to in exchange for a piece of their pocket. But yet, it is well. Pastor Joe, it is well. Tonye, I have said what I will say and I'm satisfied to leave it at that. |
My brother, feel free to wrestle it out. As long as you both refrain from insults (which I will be forced to chastize) then no problem. |
Edited for maximum effect: 1 Cor 3: "For when one says, “I follow |
He believes Chris' church creaves for massive business membership and thus wouldnt jeopardize its business center quest. And so came here to ask what we feel about his vain question. . . dont you think so?
Your estimation of the poster's motives are probably right. However that does not detract for a second from the ludicrousness of this: Joagbaje:which I daresay in what provoked the most respondents (including myself) to comment. And you only stoked the schtick even more by posting this:
John the baptist's ministry was a VOICE Jesus' ministry was the RECONCILIATION Paul's ministry was the GOSPEL TO THE GENTILES Peter's ministry was A WITNESS TO THE JEWS David's ministry was to PROVIDE THE MATERIALS FOR GOD'S BUILDING Solomon's ministry was to BUILD THE TEMPLE so what concerns Oyedepo's with Oyakhilome's?
I mean, what does this even mean? Did Jesus ever restrict His "ministry" to just "reconciliation"? or didn't He infact speak on a diverse array of subjects? and to a diverse group of people? public and private? Did David ever say "my only job is to gather acacia wood and granite for my son to build and nothing else"? was that his only "calling"? Did Paul limit his itinerary to only "churches" outside of Jerusalem? Yes their backgrounds/skills made it easier preaching to one particular group over another. But this cannot by a longstretch be stretched to mean "what concerns Paul's ministry with Peter's". I thought Jesus said "go out into all the world and preach the good news to ALL"? |
Toba, have you forgotten that Jesus said "Bless those who curse you"? You accomplish nothing and infact just the opposite when you participate in verbal battles. and this goes to our muslim friends too. You win no one by insulting them. |
Why do you people like insulting each other so much? is it some kind of sport you enjoy? 1st warning: If the decorum does not improve in here and the insulting stop, I will lock this thread too. |
Nuclear you try oh with your baby teeth lol. And you're right about MyJoe too.
Oh dear. I don't even know where to start with this so I won't. or maybe I will. Lets just go by your ministerial schematic (though it is faulty) up there for a second. So Jesus could not preach or teach around the lake and woods where John the baptist lived? since that was John's ministerial jurisdiction? and Jesus could not interfere since His only job was "reconciliation"? ![]() and Paul could not go in Jerusalem to preach since that was Peter's assignment? and dare Peter venture across the ocean to Rome to teach Paul's 'church' since preaching to anyone but Jews was not his 'ministry'? ![]() Please Tonye think again about what you wrote. This time, very very slowly. |
Lol@Nuclear. That's not it, but you're in the general vicinity. MyJoe:Oh common MyJoe, I know you can do it. Google is your friend ![]() |
MyJoe:Lol. How much you got? Its a multi-syllable crossword - initiating with the agnomen for the non-domesticated species of the genus Equus, interrupted by the 3rd vowel based on the latin alphabet, and finally punctuated by the cubic root of the number DCCXXVIIII. |
agitator:Lol . . . na the only thing for the entire article wey suprise me oh ![]() |
vescucci:Let's hearitt. |
drrobert: Joagbaje:My parents taught me to respect my elders. So I will not say what I was going to say. But this reply is the front runner for most ______ reply of the year. |
I warned you all 3 times to stop the insults or the thread will be locked and you refused. I would delete only the offending posts and leave it open but it seems everyone is participating in breaking the rules. Hence thread locked. |
oyb:hehe . . . apart from that hunk called Jason Bourne the fellas have not really being standing up to the genre. Its time for some sisters to step up jare ![]() |
vescucci:Ahh oga Vesc no vex abeg na Obinna cause me do am. When im talk say the movie no get twist naim force me mention am. No vex ehn obinna5000:lol I never see am but I vote it 99.999% Ijawgirl, did you interview yourself? ![]() |
obinna5000:oooohhh that's one of my all-time favorite movies! Geena Davies was ruthless and Samuel L was the perfect compliment. Vesc, you better like Salt ehn or else . . . Angelina jolie rocks~ I rate the movie 98% A+ A+ A+ A+
even better I'm usually a quiet movie watcher but ehn the whole time I was like "dayum!" "nooooo . . ." "WHAT!!!" "did she just . . ." dayum!!" def the most vocal I've been in a very long time to an inanimate object. I was on the edge of my seat my sister. So I don't quite understand when our dear brothers in here say the movie plot was flat . . . nothing could be further from what I saw. Riveting baby! ![]() |
obinna5000:Ahn ahn now . . . you no see the other 130mins of the movie where the action was going down? ![]() The plot is tight in imho. Could you guess anything that happened? what she took that spider for? why she 'killed' the russian prez? why she killed orlov and the other spies but yet continued with the mission to 'kill' the US prez? yes she vex them kill her hubby but still . . . and did you see it coming that Ted Winters was a spy??!!! and they were actually trying to set off WW4? and Chi-boy would let her go in the end? I'm going to answer no to all the above for you ![]() At least its better than some chick action flicks like: "Ultraviolet"Hehe Ultraviolet was ____ but don't smack against my girl Jennifer Garner and Elektra or else |

Offending posts have been deleted. And a second caution to all: if the decorum does not improve from all the insults flying left and right, this thread will be locked. |
Def, one of my best movies of 2010 for me. Angelina Jolie has persuaded me beyond any doubt that she can kick anyone’s but. More importantly as an actress. All through this film you are wondering if she really is the spy or is she the set up. She plays this out like Jolie might be a spy herself.
Just watched Salt . . . . and I dunno if its the Nollywood version of salt you fellas watched but I agree 1000% with Ijawgirl (maybe its a girl thing? lol). This is a solid action flick with a solid storyline. You're guessing the entire time not sure which side she's really on. The plot had some nice twists and I lost track of how many times I went "dayum!!! . . . ". It was a very nice watch jare. Haters be gone ![]() I rate 90%. Sue me. ![]() |
^^beef ke? abi na fish? I'll upgrade the "bright and sharp" to something loftier as your choice of vocab for our opposing/muslim friends on this thread improves. Fair? ![]() tkb417:lol you are funny. The insults can start . . . as long as they are paired in a ratio of 1 insult:10 praises for the same person. So if you wanna stone, you must also caress. |
Let Chukwudi come and catch you guys . . . |
Sagamite:^lol. Call me crazy, but I believe for someone as bright and sharp as you, insulting should be way below you. Toba, the axe is sheathed. |
@those who know themselves: If you all don't play nice, your posts will be axed. Please be cordial in your discussions, I know ya'll are smart enough to make a point without using profanity and insults. |
TV it was the spambot that tagged and removed your post. I've sent a msg to the Admin to restore it. So you can either sit back n wait or post again writing/organizing differently and shoot down some of the nonsense I'm reading on this thread. |
Joagbaje:Are you saying God cannot direct someone who is in-love with another? I am living proof that God can. You 'pastors' over-estimate your importance. Some of you are so ignorant of the importance of the pastoral ministry, how come it's in marriage matter people easily claim I was led by SPIRIT. You've not been trained to be led in soul winning or any other spiritual thing but when lust and passion start working , you say I was led to marry,He will soon lead you to marry unbeliever! and soon end in divorce. A pastor knows beyond you. He will ask some questions, he is ordained to lead people into Gods destiny. While there is some truth in this, the manner and context in which it is spoken renders it false. A pastors job is to shepherd the flock - he does not control their lives. My personal relationships do not fall under that jurisdiction or even any jurisdiction of his - I answer only to God. Are we not adults? do we need your approval or disproval in the life partner that we choose? why don't we consult you when we go to work? and choose our bosses and companies for us too? and the food we eat at home? and the places we decide to travel to? I repeat, you 'pastors' over-estimate your importance and boundaries. Why would Paul be counselling the early church over marriage. When they all have equal holy spirit. Don't make light the pastoral ministry.Paul dropped lines of wisdom yes. Did he instruct prospective couples to surrender themselves for mandatory counselling before they can marry or even court? NO. All he did was simply lay some ground rules and general principles by which we should conduct ourselves in all relationships not just marriage. This is what you 'pastors' have remixed and modified to mean - you must go for counselling and the pastor must approve before you marry. Thoroughly unbiblical and unbelievably arrogant. This only proves you need a pastor too.and I repeat for a third time - you 'pastors' over-estimate your importance. What arrogance. |
