Lets solve the problem, Mr Agbaje. Go and take an IQ test. I believe the outcome would likely be single digit  grin but if not, you can receive what 3 Abokis' get for night duty monthly.

All those reports have more or less emanated from the same PM News article, which (going by the antecedents of the newspaper) should be taken with a truckload of salt.

While there might be (some) truth in the article, the integrity of the carrier (PM News) doesn't fill me with confidence.
Good point and you're right. Perhaps there may be some kind of announcement from the church concerning the story. We'll wait and see!

Very interesting discourse ogas smiley

I think I share NuclearSir's hesitation to view this as slamdunk evidence indicting Pastor Chris as an occultee - not that the charges sound far-fetched or would surprise me anyways. It's a pretty popular sign that I'm sure a lot of us have made at some point or the other. For someone like Pastor Chris who's constantly in the spotlight, I think it'll be inevitable he'll be 'caught' on camera doing it.

Anyways, lemme go and look at Petres spooky site . . .

Christianity EtcRe: Divinely Inspired Religious Text? by JeSoul(f): 1:36pm On Jun 02, 2010
Just make some researches on The Councils of Nicea and Constantinople, Martin Luther, Vulgate and the general history of the Christian creed.

Personally, I think the bible or koran is not divine and will never be. Reason, because these are only reflecting the opinions of the writers and the age in which

they were written. Granted, they were inspired, but no matter how inspired a man is, he is always limited by lack of knowledge. For instance, you can not be

so inspired to solved mathematical problem on calculus without first be grounded on the simple laws of algebra or the precedence rule of BODMAS.

These texts bear the indelible imprint of the culture of the people amongst whom it was composed. We therefore, cannot say that these these people possess

all the knowlegde in the world much less of God.
knowlegde itself is evolving, as we can see in the sciences which is just one branch of knowledge. Granted,

these texts have presents eternal values worthy of emulation but each one of them (bible, koran, mormon, etc) only points to a way to the absolute truth but

must not be considered as the truth itself.
So, the so called holy books are only comprised on speculations, some of which are founded and some are not, but

not the absolute undiluted truth (which is impossible to be contained in a book, anyway).

As modern men, we should naturally stand on the shoulder of our forbears but must look behold to penetrate more.

The truth can only be experience within and experience individually.

Thanks.
I don't agree with everything you said, but I like a good chunk of it and the spirit from which you speak it. Godbless!

mazaje:
Hey Jesoul, whats up?
Not much my brotha smiley oh and btw, in due time, I have a nice lil suprise for you.

Mazaje: Suppose that you are given 2 books and told that 1 of them is "divinely inspired" while the other is not, and you are asked to identify which one is which. How could you tell? What would you look for? What differences would there be in the end result between a book that is and is not divinely inspired?

Jesoul: It's all by faith - reinforced by corroborating experiences

Isn't that subjective? Ins't that what applies to all other religious text out there?. . . .
Absolutely. And I think that's the point I'm trying to make. Matters of faith are subjective. What is true for me, my reasons for believing in a particular manner - and whether my reasons are justified - are known only to me and God. And if my faith produces good fruit in loving my neighbor, working towards a better world, giving of myself - then what's the beef?

A text becomes more than a text when its words jump off the pages and become true and powerful in my life, I have experienced it - that is why I believe it. And if it has not had the same effect on the next person and they don't believe it - that's fine too. No two people are alike. I can only speak for myself and try to explain why I believe what I believe - its up to each of us to figure it out for ourselves.

Christianity EtcRe: RCCG Pastors Have Started Implementing The Dress Code? by JeSoul(f): 9:28pm On Jun 01, 2010
MAYOWAAK:
Pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria have started enforcing the dress code for all worshipers handed down by the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye

The GO, as Adeboye is called by the teeming worshipers, had announced recently that women must not wear gold trinkets, artificial hair and trousers and short skirts to church.

He also banned women and men from colouring or bleaching their hair when they are coming to church.

P.M.NEWS gathered that pastors in the various parishes of the church have started implementing the strict dress code, starting with the church workers.

A member of the church who is also a senior worker in one of the parishes confirmed that the pastors are enforcing the ban among the church workers.

The church worker, who pleaded for anonymity, said the pastors started with the church workers because they are directly supervising the workers

He said the pastors cannot force the larger congregation to abide by the new dress code because worshippers, especially first timers, voluntarily went there to worship.

According to him, “new worshippers who unknowingly flout the dress code will definitely change by the time they listen to what the pastor preaches from the pulpit. Changing their mode of dressing is a gradual process.”

The strict dress code has been criticised in some quarters and described as too conservative, considering the fact that in some Pentecostal churches, female members are allowed to wear trousers and artificial hair to church. In those churches, women and even men bleach their hair while while some men also wear earing in one of thier ears.

In Kris Okotie’s Household of God, Chris Oyakhilome’s Christ Embassy, and in Paul Adefrasin’s House on The Rock Church, it is fashionable for women to wear trousers and short skirts to church. It is this freedom to wear anything that makes these churches the place to be for youths on Sundays.

SOURCE:PM NEWS 01 JUNE 2010
So they looked around the congregation, the entire church worldwide and decided that gold jewelry, women's pants, hair color and some hair weave is the burning problem plaguing their church today? and while modesty (dress-wise) is a virtue of incredible value, it was never meant to be enforced as a law - but moreso freely overflow out of a transformed heart and a renewed mind.

And if they had truly saved church members, they won't even have to enforce such a law in the first place, they would naturally dress modestly.

Well, the RCCG is a private institution and people choose of their own volition to go there and willingly subject and enslave themselves to such rules. Goodluck to them.

^^^ J-Love, You took the words right out my mouth as I came in here to ask what the RCC has done to him.
Lol. Maybe he just really hates hypocrisy? smiley

NuclearSir, how you dey? kiss

More importantly, its not just the RCC that has issues - WOFers believe they are god, anglicans are joining cults and "crowning" lesbians as bishops and pentecostals are saying tithes are the only way to Heaven. Jehovah's witness "babes" (very often here in Ibadan) leave the Kingdom Hall "Conservative", go evangelising and return home "Liberal" and nine months later enter "Labour" . grin

More and more, I feel the right thing is to pray for the Body of Christ as its rather obvious the enemy is who's really on a rampage to discredit the Personage behind Christianity.

Olu, ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. The RCC is not immune to that statement!
A thousand and one Amens to that.
