Na wa oh . . . see privacy freaks. @Tudor especially. But having someone online find your add and send you a quran I guess I can see why you take such drastic precautions. Unfortunately, being a bit of a public figure, I am very easy to find on the internet. So rather than fret, I have accepted total privacy is something most of us will not have in this present digital age of information at your fingertips. @Inesqor and DS, a few people have tried to get info from me about you two (see, you're both popular like that) but my fingers/mouth are safer and more secure than fort knox. |
Oh dear to say I'm embarrased is a gross understatement. @all my wonderful friends here, una flatter me too much now ![]() |
@ Kunleoshob It amazes me to see that u've been on this issue for 2years plus and still no change from anyone. I guess I saw someone say he had a change of mind after reading posts from this thread, I would rather say that he is not strong in faith and he can be deluded at anytime and more. If I happen to come up with another Issue like 'God does not exist' he will tend towards my view cos he has no say or he is sort of among the I concur fellows.
D-optimist, let me assure you that the number of people that this thread has affected is far far beyond what even Kunle himself can imagine. There are far more people who read and walk away than those who post, infact this is my first post on this thread, even though I've followed every single comment and discussion. I can personally say, Kunle changed my mind 2 and half years ago on a lot of things and in turn I shared with my fellowship group - many of whom have migrated from here to florida, washington, arizona and subsequently shared with the people they have around them. Never underestimate the power of what is said here on NL. The good Lord in heaven will surely bless Kunle for all his efforts on this issue. Let us just do want we think is right and stop judging others cos God never kept us as judge over anyone.A resounding AMEN to that. |
TV01:Hehe lol. Some people will remain on my "utterly discredited" list until such time as they forsake their wickedness. I particularly dislike the damage to the Religious board community fabric often perpetrated by duplicitous users of multiple id's. What exactly do we pay mods generous allowances for? Abeg, seek and ban joAllowance? who has been re-routing the payments away from my bank account? Is it you TV? I know you have the financial and technical know-how to pull off such a stunt. Oya confess! Deep Sight:Understandable. And I must confess your wrestling matches have provided both entertainment and education for those of us watching from the box seats. But sometimes it got really ugly tho . . . Having said that: do not be mistaken, the chap is an asset to this forum, and i would imagine a great asset to whatever environment he works in as he is unimaginably thorough, painstaking and scholarly.A high compliment I'm sure he'll appreciate. |
^lol. DS, you and Viaro used to be such good buddies in the begining. What happened? two intellects so massive that they can't occupy the same space? |
^hmm . . . on second thought, I think I may be wrong after going through some more of TellyB's posts. |
Deep Sight:On the above points I agree, especially the use of particular terms/words. I still think TellyB is a bit different in the other aspect - (Viaro/Pilgrim) both have a very systematic, direct, word-for-word, line-for-line approach when replying/posting, I'm not talking about just appearance, but also the way they unfold or present their point. Where's Viaro to come answer to these allegations? |
Lol, na wa oh. See detective work. No doubt there's a strong similarity, but there're also some differences. For example the formatting style. Viaro and Pilgrim are almost identical in that aspect, but TellyB is not as structured I think. DS, I'm among the "lazier among us", so if you or Chris are up to posting side by side extracts . . . ![]() |
I think Jesus had a deeper motive in commanding us to love our neighbor as ourselves. It is such a high and lofty commandment, a task that is almost out of grasp that we would have to spend our entire lives in the pursuit of achieving it. We succeed we, we fail, the job of loving is never complete. This pursuit of it, I think not only results in good to our fellow man, but also and just as important, forges the kind of character God wants in all of us. Nice topic Enigma. Lemme try to read it all . . . |
Kai! you people are killing me michelin89:Michelin, oya now I have served your food, start considering. I know you'll stay true to your word . . . |
michelin89:https://jlovegren2.nomadlife.org/IMG_9662.JPG Served. Oya, start considering conversion . . . |
^haba Pastor! a bit on the dramatic side now lol. Obrigado though. Gracias. I know say a million more calabashes lay broken on the ground when your announcement came. I can only imagine the tears shed tell us the truth jaretoba:Michelin is just playing pretend atheist. I have a feeling deep down, she'll be singing a different tune sooner than later. Right Michelin? michelin89:LOL it was probably over tithes. Tonye 'fights' with everyone over tithes ![]() banom: |
Michelin, how you confuse Tonye-T with Noetic? lol. Toba, I wonder along with you jor lol. There's never a dull moment when Noetic is around. |
^^busy JK. Busy busy and then busy. Lemme drop a bitsize review of MOF . . . imagine if every child had a bodyguard like "Creasy", they would all grow up happy, safe and well. Dakota Fanning was great, Denzel was slick and ruthless and on point. Overall a nice watch. I rate 85%. |
Toba I always take you seriously now . Lets not make it about me. Lets continue with Noetic, he's way more fun . . . Pastor AIO:and the plot thickens . . . Noetic how do you explain that coincidence? hehen hehen!! Abeg, no o! We no want make you take yaself do ashawo just to please these guys. Pick one lucky guy and let the rest find their level.Lol. Pastor, he is already picked. Was picked many years ago and the real certificate will be signed and sealed in just a few weeks. So how your sabbatical take be? I saw you tried small on that thread I tried to resurrect. |
Banom, I am a girlfriend not just to Noetic, but to all Nairaland religion section members. Don't get it twisted dude. I'm seeing some old, familiar 'faces' popping out - I hope you all have been well during your various sabbaticals. |
michelin89:My sister, resistance is futile. I don't pray you or anyone else becomes a "christian", I pray you find truth and God. Now that you certainly can't forbid, right? ![]() MyJoe:Lol@ a lil effort. Those that fight the hardest, usually fall and succumb the quickest. I believe on behalf of everyone who's yet to believe. |
Michelin dear, you're next . Let the people say Amen lol. |
banom:Banom, I missed you too .@Banom and Toba, common now fellas, Manmustwac may be an atheist, but he is an absolute gentleman (and I'm not saying so to return the nice word he put in for me above). He is def one of the coolest dudes in this section. And don't worry, I have a feeling he'll be calling Jesus Lord at some point soon . |
once again i disagree with you jesoul. the girl showed herself to be a tout. she was breaking the law by jaywalking. then she broke the law again by resisting arrest. the police regulations allow officers to use force when arrest is resisted. since she is a lady the officer felt he could use physical force to control her. unfortunately he had to use such physical force. as someone asked, would you rather he tasered her? NAACP should teach the girl to obey laws before wasting their money on lawsuits that they most likely would loose.
Yes, the regulations (and even common sense) make room for the fact cops have to respond in equal or harsher fashion than the perps. But a grab on the arm, does not warrant a full blown swing in retaliation at an obviously weaker, smaller, teenage girl. Whichever way you slice it, his reaction was on the excessive side. Aren't they trained all the time how to react? Wait and see, she'll sue and she will win. If the city of Seattle is smart, they'll settle with her privately for a smaller amount of money. |
dayokanu:Dude, a Trevor Ariza jersey? you miss road abi you miss year? ![]() bawomolo:Sure, you're invited to come in your DR jersey, as long as you don't ming being beat up, stoned with rocks, tomatoe and tatashe, tasered and finally thrown out torn, bruised and battered ![]() |
chiogo:Mehn, maybe they can suprise us again next yr I think they'll resign Ray Allen. And Pierce is certainly going to retire a Celtic.I'm all in about the party thing, hopefully I'll make it. Send me a message(Mods can do that, right? lol) and I'll give you my email add.Oh yeah that's right lol, I'm a mod I can do that lol. Look for it . . . |
Joagbaje:Nice analogy, but it is fundamentally flawed. Comparing speaking in tongues to evangelism can be likened to comparing apples to oranges. Evangelism is a charge (or command if you will) given to all christians, evangelism is not a gift, speaking in tongues is. Yes some may be particularly skilled in articulating the gospel (evangelism), but we are all commanded to evangelize, and on the other hand we are all certainly not called to speak in tongues, infact 1 Cor teaches us just the exact opposite. Joagbaje:Yes, speaking in tongues is a sign of the infilling of the Holy Spirit - it is not the sign. There is a big difference between "a" and "the". I reiterate, the ultimate sign of the indwelling of the Spirit, is one who exhibits the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal 6). nuclearboy:I am well oh oga, incredibly busy with so many life changes. Also been under the weather a bit but getting some strength back. Certainly, your funny posts all over this section frequently administers that potent drug called laughter obrigado! Will be watching to see Pastor's response to you but I think he ought be let off (this time). Problem is its likely him that'll insist on tying himself in knots. Never seen people so unwilling to listen to others yet so needful of it. Whatever happened to the idea that none of us is perfect and that iron sharpens iron? Come to think of it, baby-teeth like mine can't sharpen Nada.I'm in the mood for some knots lets see his comeback . . . |
Bawo Jesoul is rite hia shouldn't you be hauling in your catch from last night's fishing in the gulf coast? leave the championship contenders to discuss the issues at hand dude ![]() First congrats to the Lakers and their fans [insert small puke here] ![]() Second, mehn that game was a killa. Celtics up the whole game but just couldn't execute down the stretch. I knew we would miss Perkins size in the middle and it showed. But men, I'm proud of my Celtics! finals game 7, when everyone expected a 1st rd exit. Not bad for a buncha old men. Rikky, whut up! Be like say your indy mojo did not favor us lol. And which one be frappuchino? don't say you're one of em' starbucks people. @Chiogo, kai, my sista you try oh. You were here and repped for us well. I salute you jare. Oh ps. I need your email add. If you're in the Worcester area Mid-July, I have a parry to invite you to . |
Joagbaje:In regards to the topic at hand, I am open to the extent the scriptures afford, which will be from Genesis to Revelation. I will deliberately avoid the diversionary question of evangelism you threw up there. The issue is tongues ain't it? no wrenches in the wheel allowed. I would appreciate a response to my last post, if you're up to it sir .Cheerios. NuclearSir, the emperor's new clothes . . . so many have fallen alike, hook line and sinker. Anyways, how you dey? |
montelik:Lol. Every potential juror has already seen it, or will very soon. The city is going to have to settle this case, that girl should thank her stars and the cop, that punch just buttered her bread big time, and is going to be a blessing on her life - financially speaking. |
noetic16:See this boy, you want to enjoy show lol. I didn't want to get drawn into a tussle hence my initial hesitation to reply the thread . . . but lemme answer Pastor Joe. Joagbaje:I ask only one thing, that you show this clearly by scripture. I don't see where in 1 Cor 12 there is a distinction made btw what you're terming "speaking in vs. with tongues". It's a matter of word choice in the translation and certainly not an attempt to describe a different kind of gift of tongues. (indeed different translations osscilate back and forth btw 'in' & 'with' in that particular verse). Also note we're not talking about the purpose nor practice of tongues ie, tongues prayed to God, tongues spoken in a congregation etc. Lets just focus on the claim it is necessary for salvation or that all believers should speak it, lest the waters get muddy. There is one gift of tongues - and it is used in various ways, some of which you mentioned, speaking to God, speaking to the church etc. This does not constitute different gifts of tongues - just one gift, applied/used in different ways. Taking the entire chapter in context, Paul is speaking about how God assigns different gifts and offices to different members of the body of Christ. And that all people do not have ALL the gifts. Gal 6 tells us clearly the biblical sign of salvation - and it is a person who exhibits the fruit of the Spirit - not one that speaks in tongues. Cheers. |
Joagbaje:Another scripture verse yanked outta context. If SIT is a necessity then what in the world did Paul mean here? 1 Cor 11:1Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant . . . 28And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? The gift of tongues is NOT given to every christian. The above verse makes that abundantly clear. |
^^ @El, thanks, just noticed. The yeye thing for some reason isn't working. |
ElRazur:So the leadership is not saying anything officially on the matter just yet? I welcome the development, was just suprised to see BP cooperating so easily. I agree the spill should take front row and BP has to allocate as much resources as possible in the containment and clean-up. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_P5jOoDDbI Usually, I default to the side of law enforcement here in the US because of the incredibly tough and dangerous situations they go through every day, BUT this was a gross over reaction by the cop. Pulling his arm back, loading up, and delivering a full blown swing and landing a full punch straight on the face of a teenage girl She will sue and she will win and even rake in more money by making the circuit on TV/radio talk shows. |

I guess I can see why you take such drastic precautions.
!

I am yet to see any official stance to suggest or back up the claims made by Politicians in the UK [Cameron and Boris Johnson].
