^^Some of these review scores self . . . obinna5000:only 68% for a whole SDM? An injustice. The.Dark.Knight - 93%This one should be 100% Transformers.2 - 87.3% WHAATT!!Obinna watch yourself oh District.9 - 75%Another injustice. D9, a movie that injected life into a dying genre, a mere 75%? Sherlock Holmes - 70.6%I actually watched SH 2 weeks ago. It wasn't as bad as I thot it would be. 70% sounds about right. Taken (2009) - 77%77% That aside, Obinna nice job compiling it all! Okija can now compute how much he owes in membership fees. |
Maybe Vesc, maybe. |
Erm!! Hope I can join this club?! Whats the membership fee?!
justkunmi:What is wrong with this JK self . JJC is offering money and you're turning it down saying na free. Abeg Okija I'm the treasurer. Membership fees are based on how many movies you've missed reviewing so lets just say you owe a lot. But I can give you small discount bacause I'm nice like that. @Topic. I haven't seen Salt yet but make una fire away. obinna5000:Lol. Obinna Val day was clever now. You know me I hate romantic flicks but this one with its all-star cast was witty and well woven together. Laugh-out-loud funny atimes. All the different stories and lives were somehow interconnected at the end. It was clever - have I said that yet? lol I liked it a lot. Either that or my deep affection for anything Jennifer Garner does is clouding my judgement . . . or I forced myself to love it to take my mind of the turbulence (gosh I hate flying). |
I'm with Eldee, the legend of TDK will far outlast Inception, for reasons Vesc astutely noted above. One has mass appeal the other is "elitist". For me TDK was awesomeness personified. Inception - awesomeness mystified. Not trying to smush the subject but . . . @Obinna, I saw "Valentines Day" by force few weeks ago on a flight, and shockingly, I enjoyed it immensely. Why you give am F before now? ![]() |
b abi na Zombies? vampires-zombs, aren't dey all the same?I hate seeing those things :/
ROTFLOL I don laugh die I've seen the first 3 resident evils . . . . so yes, I'm going to see the 4th ![]() |
toba:A resounding YES to that. Please disprove that biblically. There are plenty of saints who committed grave sins yet . . . |
toba:Toba, her level of "spiritual maturity" is completely irrelevant. 1 Tim 2:5 doesn't make any distinction between which level of mature christians can go to Jesus/God directly and who can't. Do u think God will ans to just any request? The request in this case is simple, "Lord please direct me". The bible is clear God will answer to all who call on Him out of a sincere heart. That's all that matters. |
^It was . . . perfect gracias brotha.Oh btw, have you met the apostle of marriage? I know your own is coming up very very soon https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-498100.0.html |
manmustwac:Lol. Mmw, na Peckham you dey? If I knew. I passed thru few weeks ago, been hearing about the place and wanted to see for myself. Na Naija central for real lol. |
toba:^^what is the motivation for telling her to go to the pastor vs. going herself to God? 1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" It is one thing to ask for advice from an elder or another christian - but only as an optional supplement to the main directive of going to God directly yourself. |
vescucci:*Nodding in agreement* I see what you mean. 9 times? lol. I think these guys will come up with a sequel . . . "Conception" v3:Blame my keyboard. It's half Malaysian. Ask JK if you don't know what that means. justkunmi:In the final scene? no. I was busy reflecting on the gorgeousness of Gordon-Levitt. Saw the movie twice the same day. Noticed the clothes the first time and the ring the second time. Vesc knows about the ring. Lol.Lol, 12 Monkeys is a brain-twister. But it so worth it. @ everyoneSee this one . . . you can slice, dice, theorize, analyze, conclude, re-analyze, re-conclude all the complexities of Inception, but common 70% + 90% + 75% = ______ you dey dread do? |
Joagbaje: by far the worst advice. buttie: JeSoul: No one can tell you what to do. Go to God yourself.A word is enough for the wise. |
buttie:Beware of people, 'christians' who tell you "God told me to tell you" "God spoke to me" etc . . . 9.9 out of 10 times they are lying. You may benefit from reading this thread from a guy in a similar situation https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-369306.0.html No one can tell you what to do. Go to God yourself. Apply wisdom. And if you have peace with your decision and with your partner then why are you worring? why are you crying? and 'fasting'? You're in a beautiful, peaceful relationship that has blessed and edified your life, why would you want to jeopardize that based on the unverifiable and probably untrue claims of a 3rd party? The only person that should tell you who you should marry is YOU. Please dry your eyes and look to God, not man. |
^^ Mr Vice President you have come again. Of course the words carry different meanings, but in the context used, it was plain to see what the user meant. Unless of course you're a picky english teacher or just being stubborn. I pick the former. vescucci:Ehen see one of the geniuses complaining it wasn't ![]() I almost never watch a film twice. Inception is an exception, pun intended.I gather one has to see the movie at least 2ice to understand it all . . . reminds of Bruce Willis' 12 Monkeys. I think I learned something new each time I watched it. justkunmi:Truer words have not been spoken today. I think the whole movie is a dream. Yes. No reality at all. This is a very unique spin on the whole thing JK, very interesting. And I think the bit that supports your theory the most is this: The children wore the same clothes and didn't age a day. Both in his dreams and the endin of the movie.I didn't notice this . . . did you notice it after the 4th time you watched it? |
@Lalaboi lalaboi:Gbam No be everybody get sense to understand na. . .Double gbam, abeg tell the engineers and mathematicians and whiz kids among us Not saying i didnt understand the whole plot but the movie was just too damn complex(Bad). . . Unpredictable(Good)Gbam to the multiple of 10 ![]() My ratings sha: 75%. . .negative gbam. Inception should be only 80 and above. . . obinna5000:Whether na complicated abi na techincal you wan call am na the same thing jor ![]() |
^^ this VP is making me analzye it now obinna5000:Funny enough its not necessarily about being "difficult" to understand. The basic premise is simple: a dream within a dream within a dream. Put an idea deep enough in the dudes mind and it grows until it manifests in real life. What's difficult is keeping up with the nuances, the where's, the what's, whose dice, whose spinner? did DiCap borrow it from his wife? whose vault, who's kicking and who's being kicked, the rules, you can build this in your dream but not in anothers, whose dream is it anyways? wait, is this even real? etc etc It gets tiring after a while investing so much intellect and attention especially for someone like me who suffers from dwarf attention span. But I do recognize Inception's need for attention is also a massive compliment. Like a bad drug habit, Inception is hard to kick and I found myself giving more and more brain-time to it, spawning off alternate dream-realities while simultaneously watching . . . as for my date, he was sleeping within 20 mins we compliment each other so well. That being said, I think the concept of Inception is simply brilliant. Lemme say that again - BRILLIANT. We haven't seen a plot this original since _____ I dunno when. I LOVED the dialogue, fantastic scriptwriting, I thought it was on point each time and contained very simple things everyday people could understand and even relate to when they themselves put head to pilllow and dream. One of my fav scenes was Ariadne kicking rich boi off the ledge, saying "Improvise" lol, nice. And when she and DiCap were going down the elevators- nerve-racking. The cast was superb and I was distracted the whole time by Gordon-Levitt who played Arthur . . . but I digress. People have been raving about the score/soundtrack . . . hmm, I didn't like it sha. Overall, Inception is a helluva movie, worthy of all the acclaim its receiving and more. I rate 90% - yes inspite of my criticisms .As for Memento - I'm thinking of a one-word descriptor for complete-waste-of-time-most- |
Yes I have mr Vice President and yes I found it intriguing and at the same time share Ijawgirl's thots. |
^^when a movie needs its own flow chart, complete with its own peculiar analytical terms and unique references with unique meanings in order for you to understand ________________________ - complete the rest of the statement in your own way. Ijawgirl I like your analysis. I'm feeling lazy now, my review to come later. |
obinna5000:VP O5k, I dey o thanks!justkunmi:ah ah JK lol no be so, I have a very good excuse. How you dey mr Architect? @ V3 and Vesc - hehe "there can be only one V" . . . ya'll should have a smackdown to win the rights to the letter, who else wants to see? |
V3 which one be H-2-H? lol
The EXPENDABLES: I remember watching the movie as a kid but I wonder what the remake would be like with its all-star cast. Pls some review this movie
Saw it last weekend. It was okay. The cast really is the only selling point for the most part. Hopefully we'll review soon. O! And I just saw "The blind side" - My rating- 9/10. Brilliant. Please tell them jare. Some names that'll remain unmentioned had the stones to rate this movie bad during the review. They remain on my blacklist. |
aletheia:lol. This topic reminds of this other topic from a while back: If U Fancied A Lady In your Church, Must U Inform D Pastor Before Approaching Her? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-397372.0.html |
^ hehe. MyJoe, don't you know there are 2 standards? If mr Apostle of Marriage wants to play by worldly standards, then it is by such I shall grade him, and by such the outward appearance will matter. But in this case, it matters well well oh. A whole apostle of marriage! where is the physical proof? are we supposed to take his word for it? toba:see this guy for example - he even add sword on top put. You wan try . . . |
^ehen now, complete with jerry curls, gold jewelry and a pimped out purple suit. Now we're talking . . . |
MyJoe, Akwaba right back at ya hows the going these days?MyJoe:Bawo ready for 2nd wife? I think say na firm bachelor he be. When did this happen? toba:Lol, see as the man be sef Toba, I no trust am too much. A true Apostle of marriage suppose glow and shine more than that. |
Excerpt from flyer: The second key is the anointing of marriage. God called me as as the apostle of marriage and put the anointing of marriage upon my life. Because of the anointing of marriage upon my life, attendees of our marriage seminars record extraordinary miracles and marry without further delay.Oya, Bawo, Deepsight and co. reserve your seats today.

Pastor AIO:Pastor you always flatter me too much but I'm not complaining sha |
ogoamaka99:Ogoamaka, it is quite easy. Mat 7:16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. and what exactly is this "fruit" we can recognize them by? Gal 5:19 The acts (fruit) of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control If you come across a church exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit, you can be sure you're among genuine disciples of Christ. |
^Lol. V3, be like say you dogde V-Caliber bullet today. |
kokoye:Try these threads, tithes were discussed extensively: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-272.0.html The truth your pastor would not tell you about tithes https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-113108.0.html |
