Predictions for Pats v Saint?  (we all know where J'Soul stands cheesy )

(Sorry J'Soul) I am going with the Saints as I think the matchups favor them.
Putting pressure on Brady limits the deep threat of Moss, leaving them to worry about Wes, and Sharper is one of the better safeties around.
On the other hand, the Saints have a better running game that makes play action quite effective. Unlike the familiarity that Belichick has with the Colts, he hasnt seen a Saint team like this (last time brooks was QB for Saints and no Sean Payton), and Payton is not a bad play caller too. All the saints have to do is execute.
On the 2 times Brees played for the Chargers against the Pats in 2002 and 2005, he shredded them, and  his now a much better QB.
Apology accepted lol. You were right.

biina:
Pats 17-38 Saints shocked

Great performance from the saints against the Pats, but am stiil not convinced that they can get past the vikes in the NFC. The Pats defence was pathetic and they rarely got to brees.
With AP, the vikes can keep Brees and his weapons on the sideline, Favre gives good support with the passing game, and the vikings have a great rushing defence with an ok passing defence that is able to pressure the QB. It should be a great game when both teams hopefully meet in the NFC championship.
Oga you sabi analyze no be small lol.
Men, if not for I like these Saints eh . . .  angry  smiley  I think they can. You see all the categories of defense? they're 1st in every major category. They will pressure Favre and he will revert to his usual self and throw INTs. They only need put together a handful of solid drives, put enough points on the board and let their D carry them to the promised land. As for Peterson, he could be the x-factor, but I don't think he alone is enough.

See where the problem lies, You agree with him when he assults islam and moslems but when the same is done to you its a problem. Davidylan is not only brash and harsh on the religious section alone, He is every where even on the political front. There was a time a video of Jamaican woman whose grand child was stolen by a Nigerian doctor was put there in one of the other sections and his only comment was that the woman looks and talks like a monkey. I am only trying to show you what a very poor personality he has.

Not that I care about his very poor personality, I have since learn to talk to him in the only language he understands as others like mazaje have noted.
Ah ah now Toney, I already said it is a problem for all of us, we can all do better. I was just trying to say his abrasive responses were returns for the usual provocations here in this section - and likewise, Abuzola's recent rampage is revenge for what he believes are insults to islam - and honestly I wouldn't know what goes on in there, I don't go there.

This is very true cheesy

This is another correct statement.

There is no lie in this statement grin
a christian and an atheist agreeing?  shocked  what is this world coming to?  grin

Deep Sight:
.

David i must single out as the most trashy talker, reminiscent of a motor park tout or agbero. He is singularly the most insulting and boastful, has no ethics, etiquette or gentlemanliness whatsoever, is unspeakably childish and of mediocre intellect and unlike Noetic does not make any attempt to apologize or tone down. I think he is anything but a christian, the lousiest ambassador for Christ ever.

I only bother to state these because of his extremely and excessively distasteful nature: i do not believe in casting stones - normally i would reserve my comments.
I'm not trying to defend David (or maybe just a little), but I will say he's sometimes brash and harsh mostly here in the Religion section because of the constant recycled assault on christianity and honestly sometimes I share his anger and frustration. He's very direct and sometimes sarcastic but he's also shown he has a fantastic sense of humor. I recall he's promised in the past to try to do better.

He is very intelligent though . . . I have butted heads with him in the politics section but I still like him a lot and I hope he does better in future exchanges he may have with you and others in here.

I retract that statement grin.
I already know say you be correct boy  cool

The same could be said of the Christians judging from their post on the Islamic section, Moslems see it only as vitriolic, bitter and pure angry towards them and their religion. A simple question of who wrote the koran might generate a lot of passions from the moslems. The Christians equally post vile and vitriolic comments here. Example davidylan and neotic there others also. The blame goes both ways. Noetic even acknowledge the pure spiteful and vile nature of his post against the atheist and moslems and apologized.
On that you are right. Personally I love Noetic, David, Osisi and others and I wish they would tone it down several notches sometimes. But honestly the most horrible of languages I have witnessed has come from a few atheists.

This is where we will disagree. Has any atheist ever insulted you here on NL? I bet the only persons atheist insult are davidylan and neotic ever asked yourself why? The "bitterness" is being spewed on all sides.
I wouldn't say insulted but oftentimes the tone and vile quality of the language used in the discussion was enough to make me exit. But you're right, we can all do a better job of being civil towards each other.

. . . but the thing is NL is more 'fun' and sees more traffic when we're all fighting against each other. Abi no be so? lol

Well if the moral of the thread is "we are not always or frequently given the true and whole story by the government" then I wholeheartedly agree.
I trust Guillaume Dasquie, the co-author of “Bn Laden: The Forbidden Truth” when he said in an interview: “9-11 was not just a mad act, it was a political act meant to create a good ground for a big war in all Central Asia. I trust david duke when he said: "Bush says we must strike down terrorists wherever they are in the whole world, but he has shared tea and crumpets with Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, one of the world’s leading most brutal and bloodthirsty terrorists. Sharon committed a number of crimes against humanity, among them the massacre of 2,000 men, women and children in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in Lebanon. Mr. Bush did not strike Mr. Sharon, instead he toasted him."
Sorry, but surely, one cannot really take seriously anybody who utters this kind of smoke as a point remotely worthy of consideration by rational people.

Christianity EtcRe: Now That Banom Is Born Again: by JeSoul(f): 3:46pm On Dec 01, 2009
^Toneyb my dude! smiley how hast thou been?

toneyb:
Jesoul this assumption is entirely false.
Entirely false Toney? common now, I know you know that ain't true.

Moslems believe all the Christains that visit the Islamic religion forum completely hate allah and mohammed, but Christians do not see it that way, Christians go there to point out the flaws in the moslem hypothesis by mocking allah, mohammed and pointing out the obvious flaws of the moslem beliefs but the moslems do not see it that way at all. all they see is that any body that questions their belief is "hating" them, their god and their way of life which is not necessarily the case. This is the same thing that you the Christian do all the time, when atheist mock your own beliefs and point out the ridiculous assertions you bandy as truths. Let me use a quote from Richard Dawkins book the god delusion. Here is what he says in the book about the Old testament god.

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

This will sounds pretty hateful to the believer since his beliefs and life revolves around believing in the hypothesis that the god of the bible is loving and kind, but expressing a hateful point of view isn't the intent. He uses that particular phrase and phraseology to humorously point out that the Christian god isn't strictly peace and love but the idea of the christian god comes from a somewhat less benign tradition and culture. This is very true because the expressed nature of the god of the Old Testament is indeed demonstrably similar to the way he characterizes him by means of a simple reading of the book. That doesn't mean that saying such things demonstrates hatred at all even though you believers have been wired and conditioned to believe that who ever questions your belief or points out to the flaws of your hypothesis hates your god and you guys in general, but that is NOT the case at all. I know you guys will all love to believe that atheist hate your god because that belief it self gives you guys some sense of comfort. Go visit the middle east most of the moslems there believe that christians hate them and their god because of the way christains are constantly criticizing them and their way of life.
Toney I have zero problem with opposition to my faith. Infact I find these challenges profitable because they allow those of us of faith to think critically and consider things we might not originally consider, discuss issues we might otherwise shy away from.

Now that being said, there is a very fine line between what you stated above and the extremely acidic, caustic, vitriolic and downright deplorable nature of the posts of most NL atheists towards religion and in particular christianity. Not all, but most. For instance I don't recall seeing any posts from Bawo that have been provocative in nature, which is why I will jump at any chance to engage with him, but others seem to be locked in a tight competition with each other, seeing who can post the most vile in quality and frequency.

I have no issue with anyone who is anti-religion, what is unfortunate is the bitterness and  they seem to carry around and spew at any and every opportunity.

semid4lyfe:
In Vantage Point, Director Pete Travis wastes no time on the gradual build up that is common with most action movies as he starts on a 'high' and ends on a 'high'.

The plot revolves around an Anti - terrorism conference to be addressed by the American President, coverage of this conference by an International News Organization, and the plans of a terrorist organization to assasinate the President. It also gives a peak into the innerworkings of the Secret Service and the protocols involved in protecting the president.

The story is told from different viewpoints of different people and the viewer only gets the full picture towards the end.

The movie starts off on a fast pace and this is maintained till the end as there is no lull in between. It's action-packed, fast-paced, unleavable and totally believable. The high point for me was the unconventional way in which the story was told.

Low points - Can't think of any except perhaps it's 'unbelievable' a secret Service agent would go rogue. Those 'guys' are the most vetted and trusted IMO.

In summary, it's an excellent film. I'll rate it a 9/10.
Exceptionally well done movie.
The repeating from different "vantage points" was uniquely executed.
This concept highlighted the fact what you see and understand from one viewpoint can be totally different in reality, when seen by another character.
The plot twists were also unexpected and in today's movies like 'Twilight Saga' or 'Spiderman 13', unexpected is something rare.

This movie delivers action from the start with a well thought out plotline.
Every dozen or so minutes, the vantage point changes and each view reveals more about the actual events.
You find yourself accusing one person just to realise it was not actually him.
Vantage Point is nail-biting and edge of your seat stuffs. Do NOT plan a trip to the fridge.

I rate this movie 95%. One of the best action movies of 2008.
shocked  shocked  shocked  no way . . . grin  grin  grin  hmmm na wah oh, are we talking about the same Vantage Point? 90%? 95%? those types of ratings should be reserved for movies of Matrix-esque quality.
