justkunmi:Sure Mr Fox, whatever you say but we all know the truthI've.not.seen.a.movie.in.5.or.6.weeks. I've.reali.been.busy.with.things.not.Fox.related. .lolWe can do 12 Monkeys next though I'll need a refresher as its been a while since I've seen. |
I think its too bad that oftentimes we refuse to see certain movies because of who's in it . . . sometimes we miss out. That being said I will still not see anything containing Geroge Clooney . . . what kind of movie is "The men who stare at goats"? have they been consulting Nollywood for movie titles? No2A, if you're looking for a mind stimulating movie - this is definitely one! I think even though its not an "enjoyable" movie, its a powerful one with a lasting message - how often do we see movies that make us better as human beings? |
As a side note, Dobbs will fit in nicely with FOXNEWS . I wish FOX would mellow down with the opinion shows though and do more local, world news stories . . . sometimes it seems like one long endless rant against the present admin. |
bawomolo:lol, indeed for now. I like Dobbs though I frequently disagree with him. CNN is making a big mistake by letting him go and sticking to the "reporting" only and not "opinion" shows . . . small wonder why they are last in news ratings behind MSNBC and FOX. As one analyst put it, in these times where information travels in seconds, people do not tune in to listen to news anymore, they tune in to get analysis of the news. CNN is slowly becoming irrelevant . . . Anderson Cooper will not bring in ratings, neither will Blitzer. Their one bright star is Campbell Brown, the rest of them put me to sleep too often. |
I asked a movie-mad friend about The Box and he gave it high ratings. Says the director managed to hold a storyline that might have gotten unwieldly together. He didn't give anything away though. Honestly I must see this movie.
Hold on to that good friend can't wait to hear your review on it.justkunmi:uh huh . . . 'busy' with Megan's pictures right? So.wat.movie's.next?. Suggest.Lemme toss "The Day After Tomorrow" into the pending list Anyone.seen.the.Jaime.Foxx/Gerard.Butler.movie?.Yeah I've seen it, I mentioned it remember? Law Abiding Citizen. It was a fantastic, promising storyline that unfortunately lost steam in the last quarter. |
naliakar:lol . . . well I guess that's one way of looking at it. I haven't heard the term before though . . . it must truly be rare, but I sure ain't complaining about 70s in November. Do not get me wrong. What he did was horrible and the loss he occasioned can never be reclaimed. I am questioning the aptness of death it self as a form of punishment. May be there are philosophical issues to raise about the eventuality of death as a suitable deterrence. But then, I am also reminded of death as was to metted out on Amina lawal ij Nigeria if you may recall for adultery, or as metted out in Somalia just last week or as is often undertaken in Saudi Arabia.Okay so what do you personally suggest we as a society do with these kinds of barbaric criminals? what will serve as just and due punishment for their heinous crimes? |
naliakar:Its in the 70s today though . . . I've been wondering whether its November or whether its Summer lol. Now the execution my be considered punitive based on current Virginia laws. But it one of those last acts of meting justice that is inhuman and should be done away with eventually. Death penalty is no punishment even for atrocious acts such as committed by Muhahamed.I don't see how you can say that. What punishment do you suggest he should be served with? Why does he get to keep his life when he took the lives of 10 innocent people? the youngest he shot was a 13yr old on his way to school. That this monster has been permitted to live the past 7yrs while his victims lie 6 feet deep is in itself an injustice. |
Some of you may recall when this dude held the entire MD/DC area hostage. I even watched the movie they made out of this a while back. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/10/virginia.sniper.execution/index.htmlMy only comment is I wonder why it took 7 years. |
ThiefOfHearts:lol . . . Mariah I understand but what did Monique do now? lol |
bawomolo:lol . . . it's starting to sound familiar . . . ejo elaborate, what's the connection with football? |
yeswecan:Right on point. These rampant executions are probably their own special, twisted way of population control. |
A-40 accept it brother, the Steelers are boring to watch. You manage to stay occupied with them cos they're your boys I usually don't last beyond the 2nd Q.biina:What's S&M? Eagles v Chargers should also be interesting. I hope the get some hard hits on that stupid Rivers guy.Interesting indeed. Last week was confirmation why putting your faith in the eagles is always a dicey gamble . . . you just never know which McNabb is going to show up. And why do you hate Rivers now? the dude is tough . . . |
lol . . . "Fox got ur tongue" . . . LOL JK take a break from Megan and come and answer Max now. |
Two things could be true here: 1. that there is no event of significance that has occured anywhere in the world in recent times that TB Joshua did not have foreknowledge of or 2. it is all BS . . . I'm inclined towards the latter. |
Where is Bawo to taunt Kyle Orton? Steelers D has always been solid. But geez is it only me, I find a lot of their games terribly boring to watch . . . kinda like the Spurs of basketball. |
No one seems to be talking about the Suns! They traveled to the East and won 4 out of 5 including at Boston
Because there is nuthin new to talk about. We've known about their high octane offense, and it will only carry you so far in the season/playoffs. Where's the defensive improvement? Amare has still refused to become the interior defensive force that he could be. . . they will soon fade off as usual. |
ThiefOfHearts:Yet another reason why people should not pay so much attention so these 'critics'. Karma forget your aversion to Diaz, she was solid in this flick. |
0sisi:ROTFLOL that one na real intimate knowledge But you're right. If this were a thread about a wayward pastor the number of muslims registering present to voice their disdain would be far far greater than it is here. |
Ikomi:Ikomi dearest wetin now? lol inspite of the fact we're freqeuntly at foreign ends of the political spectrum Prez is my dude . . . as for Tayo, he has been taken a long time ago Besides what is wrong with his suggestion of the king cobras? the firing squad would be too easy an exit for that murderer ![]() |
oyb:Lol you would know about that wouldn't you? @topic, I have just one word . . . disgusting. |
@jesoul, contrary to general opinion, hanging is one of the most painless means of dying. unless the hangman is inexperienced. hanging clips the spinal cord at level C3-C6 (somewhere in the neck behind the ear------->instant death.) . . firing sguad on the other hand can lead to immediate death in the executioner is experienced. a bullet in the head end it all. i maintain my suggestion, get 'em in a closed pit with some starved and upset 200 King Cobras or Black Mambas per terrorist. the king cobra strikes and knocks its victim down, he continues to strike until the victim gets out of the way, meanwhile once struck the poison knocks down the victim, he cant get out of the way, he recieves more strikes, in about an hour he is struggling with the pain of the strikes as well as the neurotoxic venom of the snake. and more importantly it will cost the taxpayer 0$ . . . see, at the end the cobras have something to feed on and wait for the next terrorist
lol A man after my own heart. It's too bad we have to contend with misplaced 'ethics' in order to carry out this apt and fitting suggestion of yours.
correct me if i'm wrong, are some people trying to defend/justify/explain the actions of that beast? ![]() i have tried to fight the knee jerk response to align muslims with terror in this forum but to start explaining stuff like . . you know . . u got to be a muslim to experience how these people feel . . . bla . . bla . . bla . . . brainless bla let me say this, u gotta be dead to experience what those victims experienced. while i still maintain that muslims should not be aligned with terror, i must state emphatically that the hoodlum at fort hood is a terrorist. a coward, noncompoop, does not deserve to live and he is only fit for the Cobras to kill slowly before eating.
I wonder myself. And if only more muslims here on NL would sound like you Prez, perhaps those "knee-jerk" associations might not be so justifiably popular. This is the problem many of us have as yeswecan voiced above: How many of them here on NL have come outright to reject in the strongest of terms this tragedy? Aren't we right to assume their unified silence as is typical, is indicative of the fact that they are indifferent or even approve of these terrorist acts? |
Well . . . I don't wanna inadvertently include spoilers as its tough to describe. It's fiction, scary, dark, delightful atimes, emotional, even horror, weird, complicated . . . seriously, you'll need at least 20-30 descriptors in order to capture this movie. And the relationship btw Mardsen and Diaz was just beautiful, and not in the superficial, fake, unrealistic typical hollywood type of rubbish love, no this was solid, human and real - the kind that everybody hopes for. It gave the movie a very tangible, relational type of feel, like it could really and actually be ordinary you in their shoes. I'm laughing now cos I came across this review online from someone who saw it and felt exactly as I did lol, especially the last paragraph below! I guess I ain't crazy afterall: Wow, this certainly isn’t what I expected from the relatively benign interview I saw of star James Marsden on “Live with Regis and Kelly.” It’s dark, drear, and troubling. It starts like a fairly straight forward thriller, and then descends into weirdness involving scenes that are phantasmagorical. The last part is so true . . . this is not an enjoyable movie in the traditional sense, like I said, I'm not even sure I 'liked' it. But I took away so much as a human being. |
Fort Hood shooting suspect conscious, talking, hospital says http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/09/fort.hood.shootings/index.html I wonder how much taxpayer money is being wasted to keep this murderer alive. It's quite unfortunate he didn't die, I would've emptied my entire clip into his head, got more bullets and emptied them in his chest there is nothing I despise more than cold, heartless murderers.Listen to the heart wrenching stories of the 13 innocent people - mothers, husbands, fathers, sons whose lives have been taken. Many more fighting for their lives in the hospital. He must get the death penalty - by firing squad or hanging, not that painless, useless needle injection. |
The creature makes me want to go Fox hunting. My foot itches to kick her so. But JK says she's the one he wants so we don get in-law be dat.
JK there are over 3billion women on the planet, please select another one that doesn't induce this kind of violence in Max I'll def check The Box out. I always enjoy Marsden's movies. Please do. Even if you end up feeling weird too, I think the moral of the story is a very powerful one that everyone should contemplate. |
Yeah its mostly a 'pysch ward' movie. I thought it was okay though . . . a little odd and strange but okay. |
I saw "The Box" this past weekend starring Cameron Diaz and James Mardsen. It was not what I expected at all, the trailers do not do it sufficient justice. It was complicated, weird, unsettling, strange, creepy, scary, confusing, captivating, riveting, crazy, freaky, fascinating, emotional . . . infact I don't think I've ever walked away from a movie feeling as strange, creeped out and confused but yet as touched and moved as I was. I will ponder the moral and ethics of the story for a very very long time to come BUT yet I'm not sure how to rate or classify this movie or if I even 'liked' or enjoyed it confused? yeah me too. Ya'll please do me a favor and go see it and help me get some closure. Jk, we must definitely review this one soon . . . |
Spikey what is that thing perching there?
Kai! Max this aversion is mighty strong lol. Wetin she do you now? |
What was wrong with Gothika? |
chiogo:At least for now lol . . . the club is dead? He's the P, I'll ask him wassup with that later today. Iverson just makes me sad . . . what a waste. Anyone jumping on the Thunder Bandwagon? they've tucked some impressive wins and games under their belt already this season. |
Biina (& Rikky ) with your boys just barely squeaking past the last 2 bottom feeders, I am very optimistic at the prospects of the golden boy and his generals handing over to Peyton n co a thorough ass whooping on their home court next sunday .doyin13:lol, we all have our weaknesses . . . our defense is doing okay though. Compared to where and what we started out the year with I am very pleased at the progress.oh and btw, Bawo exorcise yourself of the cancer that is Cutler before its too late ![]() |
@JeSoul, Na true you talk o. I better take that back before PETA sues me as well. If they do, I'll probably plead innocence by reason of insanity. Will you be so kind as to vouch for my insanity in court?
You know I got your back In addition, I am certain Prez, Ibime, Ikomi and others will be more than happy to testify to the above for you too ![]() |
@jesoul, i'll rather they are thrown into a closed pit with 200 king cobras for company.
Kai! This is the man the CIA and FBI should be calling while interrogating suspects
@JeSoul, Who exactly are you refering to as pigs? The animals or the terrorists?
Lol . . . the natural pigs would take severe exception to sharing their name with those evil terrorists . . . infact we should be careful they don't sue for defamation . . . PETA was talking just last week of instituting legal council to guard the rights of individual animals who according to them are so often abused . . . no be Amerikka we dey? ![]() |
