Before feminist would use this for campaign as abuse against women,I suggest the man be subjected to psychiatric evaluation first. This type of uncontrollable anger is un-called for and the man be made to realise what consequences as a result of his action would cost him.

Nigeria Arrests Grandma With Cocaine In
Hair
Giwa Ayoka Sikirat, a 53-years old grandmother,
has been arrested with cocaine hidden in her
hair, Nigeria’s anti-drug agency said on Monday.
Sikirat was apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe
International Airport, NAIA, Abuja, the Nigerian
Capital, while on her way to Pakistan, the agency
said.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,
NDLEA, said the suspect was arrested at the
weekend following the discovery and seizure of a
kilogramme of white powdery substance that
tested positive for cocaine$
“The suspect, Giwa Ayoka Sikirat concealed the
drug in her beautiful hair style while trying to
board an Ethiopian airline Flight ET 910 to
Pakistan enroute Addis Ababa and Dubai,” NDLEA
said in a statement.
Giwa Ayoka Sikirat, arrested with cocaine hidden
in her hair
NDLEA Abuja Airport commander, Mr Hamisu
Lawan, was quoted as saying: "There was no prior
information on Sikirat as the drug was detected
when a female officer carried out a body frisk on
her during outward screening of passengers.”
Lawan said a 59-year old suspected accomplice,
Joseph Umunna, an indigene of Anambra State,
who brought Sikirat to the airport, was also
arrested.
NDLEA said the drug was concealed in her hair in
Lagos before she was taken to Abuja by her
sponsors.
“Both suspects will soon be charged to court in
line with the NDLEA Act for unlawful exportation
and conspiracy to export 1kg of cocaine,” NDLEA.
The agency said Sikirat attended St. Louis
I was in Atlanta 2 weeks ago to have my passport renewed and I must say its opposite what i have read here. though, I don't doubt OP. In fairness, to the staffs at the ATLANTA office, they were above par. The environment was casual, calm and free. I had all my requested papers in order, except the return envelope. I presented it to the man at the entrance who proceeded to checking me in. he gave me back my DOCuments in a folder to take to another window. got to the window, stood there for a bit and a man came to the window and just took the folder without saying a word to me...he left then few minutes later, I requested for his attention and he came back. I asked him whats next? he said "just sit down, we will call you" ..now I found that a little unprofessional so I told him, "Sir how could I have known that I have to sit down after dropping the folder? moreover, you came to the window to pick it up without acknowledging my existence/presence then you want me to read your mind". he apologized and I appreciated him for accepting his fault. fast forwarding, everyone in the room were well behaved, folks were mingling and to my amazement at a minimal noise...maybe, just maybe the folks there that day ain't NIgerians...I'm kiddin. I had my biometric and YES I SIGNED IN ON A "NOTEBOOK". then I was asked for my return envelope..I asked the guy if it is possible to pick it up today? he said No..that ABUJA has to approve the passport first before issuance and that may not happen today..and that I shouldnt worry it will get to me no later than 72HOURS with the appropriate pre-stamped envelope. so I went behind the EMBASSY and got the envelope then came back. I sat down waiting on my 2 other accomplices to finish their own process so I can give them the envelope and have them mail all THREE in one envelope. about 3 hours later, we were all done and on entering the inner office to tender the envelope, this "Beautiful woman" whose job i think is to print the passport, told me in open at the LOBBY, she had come across my application already and that ABUJA has responded and that I must be lucky. I thought to myself, MADAM if na BRIBE i NO dey give , even if white house approve am sef. the custom officers in NIGERIA know me well well say anytime i come Naija I no dey give BRIBE whether entering or leaving. But to my amazement, she told me to wait a little while that she will hand me my Passport and the other 2 will be mailed. i said to myself DEVIL is a liar..is this happening in a NIGERIAN EMBASSY-that folks have written all sorts of nonsence about...WOW ! If this goes thru without "egunje" I swear NAIJA don dey better I quietly whispered to the lady next to me...nairalanders, the woman gave me my ecowas passport, without looking at me TWICE. i felt something! honestly I did. what it was I DON'T know...if you do feel free to tell me. anyway, My sincere appreciation to all the ATLANTA staffs. though, there's room for improvement.I'm proudly Nigerian..even though I have a blue passport too...love y'all.
Thank you bruv.I believe more experiences such as this too should be made available on NL.No doubt there are much negative experiences, but there would also be positive ones too.Suffice to say some FLAT NOSE foreigners would come here, read only the negative and go back to their own blog to replicate same.Nigeria na we Own o.

Fellow Countrymen,

If we are to declare the negative experiences we've all had at our consular offices in various countries abroad,I believe Nairaland entire bandwidth and server capaciy would be utilized in excess.I could only appeal that we please calm ourselves a little when posting this experiences online as we're not the only the ones reading this. I strongly also appeal we could forward our contempt at the shabby services rendered to us to reliable public office holder like Mrs Abike Dabiri. Here's her website www.abikedabiri.com/.Also we can consistently send copies of our complaints to Nigerian news media outfits.I'm very certain Mr President Jonathan wouldn't want anything that would undermine his 2015 ambition and as such, stpes would be taken.Look at the issue of the NPF tranining college in Lagos.Could anyone remembber the embarrasment Pres. Jonathan felt due to the news coverage. That is the best way to effectively tackle this anomalies please.
No matter what,Naija is still our own,and we all our individual representative of the country, even with multiple nationalities.God bless Nigeria...and the rest of the world smiley

Matthew briggs: Most women are quick to judge men: "That Tunji guy is loose, 7 girl friends in 1 year!". "I still can't believe it, he humps on everything that moves, my friend just told me she's slept with her and dumped her after he dis-virgined her. Geezuus! he is a player not a husband material, men are not reliable!"

But have we ever stopped to look at the world through our own eyes? The Indians used to say, don't judge a man until you walk a mile in his moccasins (Lol, some funny dude added; so that you'll be a mile away, and have their shoes ).

Guy as we all know are sexually stimulated by what we see.
Meaning we don't have to wait for a particular time of the month to ovulate. We actual ovulate by sight. NB The difference we with our ovulation is that we have what we call "bonners". which is quite embarrassing.

The average looking guy , gets to be bombarded with sexually suggestive images in real time a million times more than the richest, sexiest ladies ever would, with our ladies preferring to go semi nude and un-claded is not helping matters.

Do you know how many sexual temptations we face how many "bonners" we have to hide every day at the office, at the supermarket, even at the church, Yes at the CHURCH, where we get to see that sexy curvy luscious usher telling us to move to the front sit, where we get to see Amaka armed with serious Manchester showing off her chest asset and Tope endowed with serous arsenal packaging it in a way one can literally see the shape of her arsenal.

Girls are not helping matter at all giving the fact they are becoming more materialistic and lose Therefore a successful good looking guys are in trouble and a hot cake,

This Guy even get chyked and offered sex massively by this same female that complain we are cheats even when they know he's heart belongs to someone.
Most time there advances are very subtle, like when the lady tell you she needs a lift on your range rover, Or calls you for recharge card, or Sways her arsenal to entice you, Our wears makeup in excess to hide her facial defects, or tells you she want to visit you when she knows your Gf is on a trip. Or blatant, like when she comes all out and makes her intentions known that she wants to sleep with you.

Back to the Bonners analysis, The average guy hides 15 a day
At just 10 bonner's a day, that translates to frightening figures like 365 X 10= 3,650! times in just ONE year. And then, there's the next year, and the next year and the next year...

If girls ovulates like that on a daily basis, she will become very useless, won't even be able to go to work again

And to add petrol to fire, these marrafokers are pushing the boundary as to how un-claded they can go go, With hard Tempting, hard-to-resist, mouth-watering arsenal hanging in front of us everywhere. And most of them are free, Or just few buck away, - in all it's devilishly disarming luscious form.

Plus the fact that even the princess we have at home will or is gradually expiring and she even keep deny us even when we really need it.

Sincerely, I am yet to meet any girl that can withstand the onslaught of temptation, the barrage of inducement that guys have to deal with EVERY SINGLE DAY. Yet they feel we are on a moral high-ground and have the right to judge us and call us cheats.

Our society encourages the institution called marriage and expect us to be faithful to our wives or gfs but at the same time this same women bombard us with more than 3,000 temptations yearly, but at the same time strongly disapproves of us if we fall for even 1. It's really unfair the societal pressure you mount on us. you want us to conform to your 'ideal' man and repress our most natural desires, this is cruel.

Is it not the height of hypocrisy. You dress so revealing and enticing and expect us to just look and turn the other way . And then you turning around to judge us men for being cheats, having lack of self control and failing to resist temptation.

Maybe he once had a one-night stand, so what? Maybe he once slept with someone for the fun of it, so what? Maybe he disvirgin-ed and dumped you, e he??

There is no need asking Now, if you were a man, from the bottom of your heart, do you think you could ever be half as good?

DISCLAIMER:- I am not in support of promiscuity by men but want to prove how flawed Rockfella's earlier post is by using the same step and flawed premise he used to defend a women from been called or judged as slut when they sleep around. I therefore turned it the other way round and did a remix of his post.

This is not an attack on the person of called Rockfella in fact i respect him. But an attack on the ideology he's earlier post promotes.

IN FACT- A REAL MAN IS ONE WHO HAS HIS ABILITY TO EXHIBIT A HIGH LEVEL OF DISCIPLINE SELF CONTROL AND RESPONSIBILITY. A man that knows how to sort his priorities and delay immediate gratification for the long term gain. A man that stays true to one woman in sickness and in health.

The moral I want to point out is that, If as a man or woman you are looking for reasons to justify something that's wrong you will surely find PLENTY
.

Do forgive any typos.

Cheers.

From the outrage against the recent murder of the mozambique taxi driver, which made headlines,Its amazing to me see the volume of black saffers condemning the dastard act. I dare say for now,not all south africans are xenophobic please, but sometime "dia head no dey house o".

PropertiesRe: Omonile Lawyer's Rant Regarding The Demolition Of Houses In Epe by jidewin(m): 6:18pm On Mar 07, 2013
lawyer: I read this article yesterday via mobile punch newspaper with respect to Houses being demolished by the Lagos State Government and i want to comment on some specific things regarding the demolition and property related issues: ( Please read carefully Line by Line)

First and foremost condolence to the families who lost their houses in this demolition. Whether the Government is right or Wrong, it isn't a good thing to hear of somebody's house being razed down either by fire, flood or by demolition. But this demolition has raised some pertinent issues real estate wise which i want to bring out because something fishy is going on in the Land Bureau at Alausa and we must get to the bottom of it. I want to treat some parts that i highlighted boldly from the article and see where we can find a solution to this crisis.

Firstly:

1. If the Land owners had necessary Government Documents to prove ownership, why didn't they present it before their houses where demolished?

2. Also if we take the defence of the Lagos state Government that the buildings where constructed on an industrial area as reflected in the state master plan, how many people knew that area was designated as an Industrial area? The problem here lies squarely on the feet of the Lagos state land bureau because they are known for hoarding Information. Who in their right senses would buy or construct a house where he or she has been told that it has been designated for Industrial purposes and is under acquisition? How many people know they have to do a thorough search before they buy lands. What medium has the Lagos State land bureau taken to educate people on the pros and cons of buying lands in area under acquisition.

Everything is shrouded in secrecy. Even an experienced Property investigator like me still has to navigate the murky corridors of Alausa to get these informations and daily i hear new places that are under acquisition which they hide from the public. For you to even get this information, you have to give kick backs to civil servants to tell you your right talk less of people that have lived in a rural area like Epe all their lives that have no idea what it means for a land to be under Government acquisition or not.

Finally how many people can confidently raise their hands to say they have seen the Lagos State's Masterplan? If i Google New York or the borough of London's Master plan i will get it immediately within seconds and it will tell me which areas to buy and places to avoid. Can the same be said of the city of Lagos? How many people know the areas in Lagos that are zoned for Industrial estate or Government Schemes etc. Personally i think the Lagos State Land Bureau has scored an Own Goal and still scoring it because they fail to inform people about these things. These information are public information that every citizen of Lagos residing here should know. That's why Omoniles reign supreme in Lagos because of this lack of information and its really sad.

3. Another issue is that the Government officials said that the Building plans where fraudulently acquired. First question that comes to my mind is this: Isn't it the Same Lagos state Town Planning Office that approved the building plans? Can somebody procure a building plan from the road? How many people know the process of acquiring a building plan and cost? How did they know the building plans were fraudulent? Did they see the signatures of who approved it? What happened to the fees paid to the Lagos state Government to get this building plan? Are they going to return it? Government fraud and Omonile fraud = Fraud ( Plain and Simple) You cannot rob peter to pay pay and now call the money illegal money. This is a high level scam that i know of that has being going on for years in the Town planning Office. They refuse to educate or divulge information and make the buyer of the land spend so much money stupidly to acquire a fake Building plan and after they have chopped the buyers money, they will now appear and say the land is under acquistion. This is very bad and honestly God will punish these people causing this kind of pain and anguish to homeowners. How do you fraudulently acquire Title documents from GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS? Isn't that double speak of the highest order and extremely contradictory? Where else is a prospective builder supposed to get his document from? Isn't it from a Government official of the relevant Government office responsible for it?

Finally my ranting ends with this quote:

Bottomline do your land search thoroughly. Now Millions of Naira worth of Houses has been thrown away and demolished if only these people did a thorough search. I will feel sorry for them because they are in Epe and they probably where not exposed to Land searches back then but a prospective land buyer now in Lagos especially in Lekki/ Ajah who ignores this warning should read the above quote properly. Government has left you in the hands of Omonile to deal with you mercilessly and if you fall into their trap, the Government will add more pains to your sorrows.

What a sad world we live in! Pls shine your eye and may God not allow what happened in Epe be your portion

Does that made me less qualify for the job? NO!!!!!. coogar: Foreign Degree & The Nigerian Reality

Nigeria is a highly blessed country to an abundance of mineral wealth and an energetic work force sadly, it is easier for a Senator to disclose how much he earns than for one to land any gainful employment here. Thus, in a bid to stand taller than most of my peers in the labour market, I joined the league of those who travelled to the United Kingdom for further studies. As a warning, those of you still contemplating returning to Nigeria for good should either look away now, or be ready to be jolted.

When I decided to relocate to Nigeria after a little under a decade in Europe, I did not imagine it would be easy to start a better life here; a life powered by a lucrative job. I did not reckon I would still be grappling with the viciousness of the Nigerian situation more than a year after I returned. I had many job promises from friends and contacts that gave the impression they had something to offer. I was very confident and couldn’t wait for my flight to depart London Heathrow Airport for the journey back home.

Finally in Nigeria, the euphoria of being back to a place I call home started to wear off after a month. As a man on a mission, I started moving round the country armed with my CV and a strong faith in Nigeria. I thought my newly acquired British accent and my UK certificates would make a difference. Well, my certificate has not made any difference and my “fake” accent only made most interviewers unfriendly. The only difference I have noticed is that the soles of my shoes have started wearing off due to trekking and my London clothes have started “fading”.

I have attended many interviews, passed all of them and asked to “be ready to resume in two weeks”. Well, it is gone past one year now, and I have finally given up on this country. One thing though is clear, people such as Reuben Abati and Doyin Okupe might disagree (who cares?), but about 90 per cent of jobs in Nigeria go to cronies of either those in government or those working in places where such vacancies exist. Merit has been thrown to the dogs and that is why you find all manner of unintelligent people working in sensitive positions all over the country.

Well, why not start something on your own, don’t expect the government to do everything for you, you know? What have I not tried? Even though it smirks of having a pessimistic disposition towards striving to make a living here, the fact remains that the government of Nigeria has not put the enabling environment in place for the advancement of private enterprise. That may well explain why you notice that only those that are close to the government make the list of “20 richest Nigerians”.

It is really a harrowing experience having to explain to friends why a business plan you thought was going to work out perfectly in Nigeria collapsed the very moment you stood up to try it out. Nigerian banks are not helping matters either; it is easier for a Boko Haram chap to embrace Christianity than for a Nigerian bank to agree to give you a loan to start a business. Be ready to produce all manner of “collateral”, your great-grandfather’s living next of kin, among others. This is the first step towards being disillusioned here.

If eventually you manage to establish something that has a semblance of a consultancy, or able to team up with an already established practice, you must be ready to deal with the realities on ground. Warning number one. Do not expect to see everybody exhibiting that rare sense of honesty. If you want to show most people that the way things are done here should be dumped for the better ways you learnt abroad, you will find out that you would be on “your own.” Ours is a system whose major fuel-source is corruption — be ready to play ball, or at most, do not attempt to rock the boat.

After a while, you begin to ask yourself if it was really worth the stress-going to spend some good money studying abroad only to come back to Nigeria armed with a foreign certificate, an accent that makes you sound funny. Well, given another opportunity, I will do it again, and again. Quality education is power.

But then, what is the way forward?

I believe strongly that Nigeria remains one vast and lucrative market. Whoever that is daring will surely hit gold here. However, the key is to discard any false hopes that suggest that having a foreign degree is an assurance to some splendid employment. That was in the past.

Secondly, it is better to do a research on your intended engagement before you jet into Nigeria. From experience, all I had going for me was a luggage filled with job promises and a conviction that my foreign certificates would speed up the process of getting a good job. Wrong. People here excel in promising what they know is not within their power to do.

Thirdly (maybe most importantly), save up some cash before relocating to Nigeria-at least, enough cash to last you for about a year. Friends are many when you are “fresh” from overseas but the vanishing acts commence the moment you start moaning about paucity of funds and no employment. Most “friends” have a mental problem that makes them run faster than Usain Bolt the moment they suspect you will start asking for a loan. So, make sure you pinch your resources till you are sure of a regular income.

On a lighter note, be ready to become a Bible carrier, a “practising Muslim”, or a strong adherent of African Traditional Religion. You will be ridiculed, excluded and mocked the moment you attempt to convince your mates that there is so much poverty and ignorance in Nigeria, not because one is not a follower of any religion but because we have over the years, been ruled by visionless men and women whose major pre-occupation was looting our resources and banking same in foreign banks. Has that situation changed?

Finally, Nigeria is a beautiful country with a majority of the people willing to work to make a living. However, years of poor leadership and a docile citizenry have made living in Nigeria appear like being in hell. Believe me, there is everything stacked against you here, but the reality remains that you must be daring and be ready to get dirty to make a living here. Nigeria is the place to be. There are countless opportunities in Nigeria-we are not bad people, but our government is peopled by bad citizens.

Legalplayerz: Please I have a question, is it illegal to have/carry a registered firearm in Nigeria?
I remember quite well my discussion with one of the RRS guys concerning procuring firearm and he simply briefed me thus:
1. By Law you can only procure and possess firearm for hunting purpose which must be licensed by at least the DPO of the station where you are residing.
2.The only permissible type of firearm for hunting (self defense as the case often turns to be) are
A: Double Barrell semi-automatic rifle
B: Pump Action (comes with detacheable end barrell) preferable 8 round dispenser
You will be issued this with a license for hunting and be able to purchase live rounds from accredited firearms dealers.try and google or better still ask a cool headed cop where to get this.but as at 2010,an 8 round pump action rifles goes btw 250-350k depending on your bargaining power.
For smaller firearms, only two persons could grant you the license in Nigeria and they are:
1. The President of the federation
2. The IG (big boss) himself.
Else, possession of small arms and firearms is illegal and could earn you life in prisonment.
However,I know some top shots procures the licensed hunting rifles, but also procure AKs.I've seen some security agents guarding one of our current serving senator in lagos brandishing those types of firearms you see american SWATw carrying for OPs.
This is what Henry Okah and his boys were majorly into before he went Mega supply from one coast to the other.
I'm sure if you check at tin can island.Apapa.you should be able to meet few licensed firearms dealer in Lagos.Even at sabo market in Kano.but I don't know with all the BH probs if they still run the biz there.its not hidden in kano at all.
Anyway,in naija, heaven helps those who are determined to help themselves.

christemmbassey: Pls sir where did God command the jews to give tithe to the levites WIDOWS, ORPHANS and the STRANGERS. Now that we dont have levites again, so those practicing judaism should give tithes to only the widows, orphans and strangers? What about the pastors that collect tithes and eat alone without giving to the widows, orphans and strangers, will God purnish them for the double sin? because as christians, they are not supposed to collect tithes. Now sir dont mind the ignorant sheeps shouting blue murder for ur effort to show them light 4 they do not know what they are saying for the law they are trying to obey says - the tither should divide his tithe among the levites (no longer applicable) the widows, orphans and strangers, the law never said take all the tithes and give to one group of persons (levites). Mobu,
Thanks.sepedi..don't know which province that belongs to as the only province in SA I've not been to is durban.I've toured and worked at the rest. Its nice to read someone from here with such positive disposition.Same goes to you PanAfrica.

Andrew,
You may feel bad about the image portrayed by the dastard act of SAPS,and even feel much worse such been broadcast on Nigerian media blogs, but truth is bitter.
You said Nigerian military and police get unpunished for their anomalies...please against who? FOREIGNERS?-NO!!!.I saw one interesting example you gave on the other thread, stating Nigerian security officials "intimidated" some foreign media group while taking "pictures" of where the law does not permit to.It was a poor example to state.
Let's face facts and try our possible best to work on those factual realities. Many south africans, especially blacks, have a lot of change to effect, just as many of my countrymen indulging in shameful acts.Good nite

You know for once,my heavy heart eased and softened when i read your line "not all saffers are animals". I pray this is true. Here, i have seen raw hatred for fellow Africans and my heart bleeds.Sisi, i meant RAW HATRED.Was almost allowing myself to breath and react as its done here, but well, perhaps there's Someone or Something telling me i'm not raised as they are.
Your prefix ID seem like a south eastern Nigerian one,Ngwana (more like Ada-ngwana or Ngwanaobi). It was later i actually saw the suffix Mobu.Reminded me of our companys zulu receptionist who had issues with me cos of where i come from.
So what does the name mean if i may ask?
