midnighter:Well, over the years Nigeria's health system has been under the management of doctors yet our hospitals are nothing to write home about. Those managers in the developed nations are breaking bounds while their hospitals are doing far much better than Nigerian hospitals run by doctors! Of course, it is only natural for some doctors in those developed nations to complain and try to make it appear like the managers are not doing well. However, the results coming from such countries have so far proven that the managers are doing well! |
midnighter:It is not better in anyway! In most developed nations, hospitals are managed by non medical doctors. The reason is that a hospital is a gathering of different professional groups to serve the patient. When you appoint a Nigerian doctor to head a hospital, he tends to be biased in favor of the doctors (This is worst with those of them that trained in Nigeria, most of those that trained abroad understand how hospitals work and so they usually do better). The result is a chaotic hospital with the patients at the receiving end. Under such atmosphere, nothing works and the productivity declines. That is the major problem facing our public hospitals. The doctors are just out to milk the system dry while productivity continues to nosedive. |
Dextre:Reddington is progressing because it is managed by unbiased managers with experience in hospital administration. So, all the different professional groups know their roles and stick to them with none trying to lord over others. The managers set the standards and everybody is bound to comply with no group claiming superiority over others. This is unlike our public hospitals that our local doctors run like some kind of animal farm. Playing politics with people's lives! Go check most hospitals run by non medical managers, they're always doing well. Eg most Catholic hospitals run by reverend fathers. |
IDEKEALUMONA:I don't blame you foolz. I blame the failed Nigerian system that makes you lots go Scot free after killing many Nigerians with your quack practices. I wish we are in a functional society! Many of you would have ended your miserable lives in jail. A supposed doctor claimed that no drug can cause the death of patients orderwise such drugs won't be licensed, and you're here supporting him. That only reveals your level of ignorance as well. I won't start giving you examples of licensed prescription drugs that can cause instant death when used wrongly. You don't deserve such enlightenment from me. |
dohyn:Tell that to your father! Illiterate "dokita" God forbid that I refer a patient to your type! Ewu! |
dohyn:So you don't know that some drugs when wrongly used or when used on the wrong person can cause instant death of the patient Chai! naija dokitas oo |
ambu2:Buhari has failed to do the right thing in our health sector, so he should be blamed! |
crossfm:Honestly ehn, the thing taya person o A rich guy would stoop to marry a poor lady but ladies would never do that. This is why I pity some guys that put their studies on the line to "hustle" and sponsor one yeye girl in school. The girl eventually will graduate with very good grade and land some great job while our hustling brother is still "hustling". Then the girl will carefully dump his assz for a well established man. |
oyatz:You're politically naive! If not for those northern PDP politicians ehn, Buhari wouldn't have smelt ASO rock. Those men (Kwankwaso, Tambuwal, Atiku, Saraki, Dino etc) were the people that handed power to Buhari! If they had remained in PDP without collapsing their structures into what's now known as APC, not even a thousand Tinubu and his over hyped media prowess would have made Buhari win. Even Buhari understands that fact. |
Dino and the other Northern PDP heavyweights just decided to shoot themselves on the foot by their actions prior to the 2015 election. If they had been patient with Jonathan and supported him to win the 2015 election, by now Atiku would have effortlessly become president while Dino would probably have become governor of kogi state. But no, they rather decided to retire themselves politically thinking that it'll be easy to recover power from APC. |
DonBenny77:Your ignorance seems incurable! But I know you have learnt one or two things from me today. You're just too arrogant to swallow your pride and thank me. |
DonBenny77:Typical Nigerian ignoramus! Instead of accepting your obvious ignorance, you're still arguing with me! Let me continue to educate you sha... There are bacterial infections that are typically classified as STDs like gonorrhea, syphillis, Clamydia etc. Such infections are typically spread through sexual intercourse with infected persons. They have higher chances of being spread through sexual contact regardless of the person's immune system. Yes, you can have intercourse with a lady who has staph on some parts of her body and not be infected provided your immune system is strong and you do not have open wound that may come in contact with infected parts of her body. Besides, the acidity of the vagina and the presence of other bacteria that help protect the vagina may not support the growth of staph in the vagina, even when it may be thriving on other parts of her body surface. Staph mostly break into the body through things like open wound, infected needles and other medical devices like catheter, IUD and unsterilized surgical devices, as well as ingestion of improperly cooked infected meat and poultry/dairy products especially in the case of MRSA. |
culturedboss:This is not ITK! Too many false information are being spread in Nigeria and some people have come to accept such fallacies as truth. Some other people take advantage of such lies to enrich themselves fraudulently! It is therefore my duty as a patriotic Nigerian to debunk such lies whenever I see them especially on social media like this. So, in case you see a boy of 8years old who is diagnosed with staph infection, don't think it is abnormal! |
culturedboss:Read my post above and gain some knowledge! |
DonBenny77:Idiotic slowpoke!!! Instead of paying attention to learn the details about the organism, you googled some half truth about MRSA and now hold such as a fact about staph! Staph on its own is not a sexually transmitted infection like your trado medical practitioners make it appear! It is in fact, one of the normal bacterial flora that can be found on the body of even animals and humans who aren't sexually developed. It only becomes a problem when it breaks the immune barriers of the body and enters the blood circulation, in that case it weakens the immune system and cause opportunistic infections. It can break into the body through several ways and not necessarily through sexual contact. Methicillin-resistant staph aureus is just a strain of staph aureus that is resistant to the antibiotics- methicillin. It is also spread through several ways including through consumption of improperly cooked infected chickens and poultry products. It is not necessarily spread through sexual contact alone as to warrant being classified as an STD. So, stop blaming your girlfriend for your staph infection and own up to the fact that you're a dirty pig who can't maintain cleanliness. Now, the above information which I have passed to your ignorant self is some conc knowledge stored in the deepest part of my cerebrum not some halfhearted info from google. So, pay me for the tutorial! |
Just few months ago, the foolish Benin people attacked and killed some Nigerian guys doing business in their hellish country! And someone is saying we should open our borders for such ungrateful people ![]() Nonsense! Let the damn borders remain closed! |
DonBenny77:Staphylococcus is not a sexually transmitted disease! I don't blame you, our fake trado medical practitioners have made uninformed Nigerians to believe that "staph" is an STD. With their constant shouts of "staph!" "staph!'', they spread falsehood about the organism. Too many fake traditional medicine vendors in Nigeria!!! |
Rubyventures:Encourage your own children to study agriculture nau |
fados4sure:Chemistry graduate? and where are you working?? @Op, let your sister wait and write JAMB again. Don't let anybody deceive you! |
Congratulations to you! |
The truth is that you might even be more knowledgeable than some of your mates with first class. Please don't let the result of your first degree affect your self esteem. Go on with your PhD and make sure your works are well published on reputable journals. You'll definitely get a lecturing job. I know that uninformed people might want to look down on you because of your 3rd class degree, but don't let that bother you. You'll always meet people like myself who understand that examination is not a true test of knowledge. Such people will appreciate what you have to offer currently without recourse to your first degree. |
edoairways:Yeah. Same applies to UNN and I think all such mediocre considerations should stop. Students should be subjected to same standards and none should have the goalpost lowered for them. |
This is a good development. That catchment area policy is not good at all for our university system. A university is supposed to be a community of people from different backgrounds and nationalities. Indigenization of universities encourages mediocrity and causes a decline in quality of outputs. Kudos to Buhari on this one! |
Jewessgratitude:Having a big head is a true indicator of intelligence, however the head has to be sharpened and not be filled with too much rubbish in order for it to be fully utilized. |
Jewessgratitude:Having a big head is a true indicator of intelligence, however the head has to be sharpened and not be filled with too much rubbish in order for it to be fully utilized. You can rightly guess how I know |
Mrpsly247:Like seriously ![]() Do you know that most criminals do not have the courage to commit crime when they're in their right senses? |
lexy2014:I'm not in support of the manner the guy was killed. He should have been arrested and prosecuted in a court of law.. I replied the guy I quoted because his post made it seem like the victim didn't commit any offence by selling TM. |
hammerD:You are a small boy with little knowledge! I'm sure you don't even know the different strengths of Tramadol available let alone knowing how the drug works, its side effects and legal status. So, no need arguing with you! I can bet my life to the fact that that man is NOT a pharmacist and so has no right to sell such drug. |
hammerD:You are totally ignorant! Tramadol is an opioid analgesic and is a prescription only medication. It should normally be sold in a pharmacy by a trained and licensed pharmacist upon prescription by a doctor. But these wicked drug dealers sell it to just anybody without prescription and they are not qualified pharmacists. Tramadol is powerful CNS drug that can trigger multiple effects including euphoria and feeling of 'highness'. People don't know, but that drug is more powerful than weed in making one high. Criminals take it before operation to blunt their human feelings so they can act like animals. The guy probably thought he was in Nigeria where they sell the drugs with reckless abandon with government doing nothing about it. |
We have a very big problem in this country and the government is not doing much about it. Drugs are poisons that can kill as much as they can save. There's so much ignorance about the dangers of drugs in this country. People think that Orthodox drugs are same as their traditional "agbo" and "Jedi" that they use indiscriminately. There's a reason why the developed countries strictly regulate drugs use. They know the dangers that can arise from a poorly regulated drug market. Our political leaders seem to be totally ignorant of these dangers hence they show less political will in regulating our drug market. We have governmental bodies supposedly saddled with the responsibilities of such regulations but they are mostly incapacitated due to poor funding and lack of drastic legal backing to carry out their jobs. If our drug market was properly regulated, youths wouldn't easily have access to drugs like tramadol and the rest and incidences like the one in this post won't be so rampant. |
I just love this guy! Very generous and good spirited unlike his other colleagues. Still waiting for Mikel and co to sponsor even if it just one person in secondary school...lol You go wait taya |
The expulsion was in order. No university would like to be associated with students whose sex videos are all over the internet. If you must have sex, don't record the act let alone posting to the internet |
