I already sacrificed my savings for one to finish his degree and he is currently serving but I still see that atom of dependency in him while the other is still trying to stand on his feet with a business that is struggling and wants to get married. Sorry, i didn't see this before my post, but I'd still suggest you do more to help the other stand in his business, unless he is hellbent on getting married in which case you can go ahead and have him out of your house not forcefully though but by talking to him and making him see reasons, because any man who is matured enough to get married should be matured enough to have a house of his own.

The Nigerian medical doctors under the auspices of NMA are the real enemies of the state who see themselves as overlords in the healthcare sector and expect other healthcare professionals to exist at their whims. They have rendered our state hospitals useless and reduced them to abattoirs where they slaughter innocent Nigerians on daily basis with their negligence and unprofessional conducts.
If NMA and Nigerian medical doctors meant well for Nigerians, they would have supported JOHESU in pressing home their genuine demands. But no! They have been busy sponsoring newspaper publications like this very one to tarnish the image of JOHESU. Please how does it affect NMA if other healthcare professionals make demands from the government who employs them?? How does it affect them if other healthcare professionals seek a genuine means of growing in their careers and reaching the zenith of their professions??

Nigerians should please see through these gimmicks of NMA to frustrate other healthcare professionals. Nigerians should call NMA to order before they completely destroy our healthcare system.

My point is that you shouldn't be paid higher just because you are a medical doctor! People should be paid based on the number of time they put in at work. Using a different salary scale for medical doctors is a very wrong approach! All health workers should be placed on the same CONMESS that medical doctors earn. There could be difference in terms of levels to which a worker is started on but let it be the same CONMESS! Also, anybody who goes on calls should be paid call duty allowances, be him a medical doctor, a pharmacist, a nurse etc. It's high time we did away with discrimination in our healthcare delivery system. Healthcare delivery is a teamwork and so nobody should be treated specially because they belong to a certain professional group. What is sauce for the goose should also be sauce for the gander.

Mind you, I have no interest in hospital pharmacy but the truth has to be stated regardless of our personal interests. I don't want to depend on the paltry sum government pays as salaries. I prefer to rake in millions as profit from batches of products i send to the market. I also prefer pharmacy because it will enable me create more employment opportunities for others and as such make far reaching impact into the lives of others. Same cannot be said of medicine

Nigerian medical doctors are the most stupid and arrogant foolls i have ever known. Imagine the sort of excuses they give for perpetrating all manner of injustices against other health workers Number of years spent in school, sitting for 2nd mbbs exams, reading anatomy, physiology and biochemistry textbooks(as if they are the only ones that read those courses). Should those silly excuses be a reason to pay you higher wages than other health workers As if others don't read and write exams in their own professions. Some of you forget that those studying other healthcare professional courses write semester exams that are equivalent to 2nd mbbs every semester! While you write your 2nd mbbs every 2yrs. You also forget that courses like pharmacy, optometry, radiography, physiotherapy are also 6yrs programmes, and that students of those courses also write tough exams every semester.

I don't blame you people! I blame the government that has refused to checkmate your excesses in the Nigerian health sector. Fools that have turned our hospitals to death traps. The blood of innocent Nigerians you have killed will continue to hunt you nigerian medical doctors and your families.

You typed that Nigerian Pharmacists don't produce drugs yet you consume Emzor paracetamol, Emzor lokmal and so many other brands from Emzor and other indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturers. I'm sure that even the infusion sets you use are manufactured by Juhel.

Even in the clinical setting, the role of pharmacists are very much indispensable! How many medical doctors can do proper dose calculations or monitor drug therapy through calculations of pharmacokinetic parameters Or formulate extemporaneous products?? Many of them have not been able to prescribe drugs properly without errors let alone knowing any of the above. Even to properly counsel patients on drugs use they cannot do that.
