I was at Baptist College, Iwo Mission at that time and we knew the havoc that Gen Gowon Administration did to the mission schools then. The only mistake I can deduce from the interview is his unilaterally overturning the election result in AD to favour Tinubu. That's unfair and he needs to beg God for forgiveness. Although that's has been the weakness of Awolowo & his followers for example Awo wanted Archdeacon Alayande of Oyo State to replace Chief Bola Ige in 1979 election promising the latter that he (Awo) shall give him Ministerial position after UPN must have won the Federal election only for Bola Ige to tell him in a plain language that .....he could not leave certainty for uncertainty ...Same happened between Chief Adekunle Ajasin & Akin Omoboriowo who defeated the former in what is now known as ....Primary election. It was because of that injustice that made Chief Omoboriowo to decamp to NPN then. So in a way, history actually repeated itself during the AD shadow election.

These schools were built by Christian community which government is not renovating and the Christians still contribute money to maintain their "legacy". What was the compensation paid when the schools were forcefully taken over?

The point is that it got so bad in Kwara that Christian boys and girls were not getting admitted to some of these schools in the early 90's. That was why C&S Laduba, Emmanuel College Tanke, Chapel, ESS Ganmo etc came up as private/ mission schools
