My parents are igbo and yoruba. I only know igbo, and I regret it. Please ma'am. Speak both languages to your son. Human beings even at that tender age(or rather, especially at that tender age) are able to master two languages at a time[sometimes even three. The marvels of the human intellect. God be praised.] If your child speaks both esan and yoruba, it will be a blessing to him in the future. |
Lol @ josh, i will gladly do all that u mentioned above knowing the end from the begining. It wouldnt be a big deal to me knowing that i will just have to be humiliated for a day or two and then i also know i will wake up in three days and better life goes on. Hell men have made greater sacrifice and lost their loved ones forever. What exactlly did jesus lose? A few days of glory. Nigerians have seen much worst. Some people are ready to b mad men for years just to make money... Why is a GOD taking a human form (which is unessecary) and suffer for a few days be given such priority? What was the nessecity of the sacrifice? Who created the tree or liife in d'garden of eden? Why did he send flood in noah's' regime instead? Did he forget to send himself then? Thia whole this u keep on spewing is just so confusing.
I seem to be saying the same thing because you keep repeating the same questions don't you think? This isn't true. You can as well go to a court and stand before the judge in place of a condemned and hardened criminal who would call you a fool for taking his place. You would take his place and be condemned to death. You would first be tortured and beaten up and stripped n.aked, all the while being insulted by the very man you stand for, and being forsaken by your friends. At any time, you could choose to refuse to take the place of the criminal, but you choose to die for his sake. And suffer a terrible death, having done NOTHING wrong. You are not being honest with yourself, that's why you don't value Jesus' sacrifice. |
Beretta92: He forfeited it for a few years cos he knew he'd have it back forever. Now who wouldn't do that?he was beaten and demeaned and disgraced. What do you mean who wouldn't do that? He was wounded and spat upon and killed for what he didn't do. Who wouldn't do that? He was tormented and tortured and grasped by the cold hands of death. Who wouldn't do that? He bore the punishment of his enemies and died for sinners who might later reject him and mock his sacrifice. Who wouldn't do that? Scarcely for a righteous man would one give his life, but God showed forth his great love for us in that why we were yet sinners, christ died for us |
mazaje: And why is man not reunited with him?man who accepts his salvation is reunited with him. Men have been reunited with him through the ages. Men from different countries and peoples have felt this great and genuine bond with God in Christ Jesus. You cannot be reunited with a God you don't believe exists. But us, we know joy and praise. We're truly living the life. And we're everywhere. We might look ordinary, but when you interact and look, we're as luminant as light shining in darkness. And we will shine in nigeria and everywhere. The genuine people of God are stirring for a great move. We know this God. We have his objective image in our lives. We show him to the world. Even in the midst of hypocrites and false teachers and religionists and exploiters, the real light is there. We are saved. Members of Gods household. |
mazaje: You are very wrong, Josh has never studied the scripture on his OWN. . .He was indoctrinated since when he was a kids and grew up accepting and believing everything written in the bible, regardless of what was written. . . .If he was born a catholic and indoctrinated with the catholic doctrine he would have been here spewing it telling other christians that belong to other sects how wrong they are. . .If he was born into the JW sect he will do same, if he was born into a muslims family he will be here telling you how Jesus was just a prophet and never the son of god, he will be praising allah and revering Mohammed. . .Societal bias is EVERYTHING when it comes to religion. . .Where you are born is what determines your religious belief or the religious belief you will convert to when you leave your religion. . .People in Nigeria never convert to Hinduism because there are no hindus around, but the are mostly born into the christian or muslim religion and the few that chose to convert to another religion convert to the ones around them. . .this isn't true. The way you speak shows that a case can never be different. Actually, I was born into a christian family, yes. But I was in the throes of religion when God found me. My faith is not based on the society or family, my faith is based on a personal relationship with God It was when I found God that I found reality. I was confused and might have become an atheist like you, but God found me before I started making wrong conclusions about life. It was a case of a religious young boy realizing that he couldn't fulfil the standards of the God. Ruled by anger and sinful passions. Beginning to be hardened. Until God showed up. My case is not of indoctrination. I am able, like john, to speak of what I have seen and heard. When I met God, he changed my life. The bible opened to me. I wasn't ruled by fear of hell anymore. But love of God. I finally had my questions answered. That's why I know that there is a difference between blind, self-righteous and fear filled religion, and a personal relationship with God. God changes man. God is alive. The millions of people in nigeria who profess God do not know him, but deny him in their works. If they knew God, nigeria would be a place of peace, and tranquility. I study scripture under the guidance of the holy spirit and understand it. I walk in it. It reflects in real life. So don't make hasty conclusions next time. |
ezme: How come your Jesus is still all powerful, and presently in Heaven as you claim if he forfeited heaven and eternal power?he forfeited his power and heaven for the greater good of bringing man to God, reunited in himself. |
texanomaly: Josh...you have to admit, there are some Christians on this thread who have not represented our faith in a good light. I am actually surprised that many posts here, on both sides, were not hidden as warnings. I will not name names, because their words are here for all to see.yes ma'am. There are. I even reported to the mods but they haven't done anything about it. |
Kay 17: 1. Pls don't ever claim God is omnipotent if you are going to treat him as un-omnipotent. Placing a duty/order against God is a usurpation of his purported powers, I explained why God himself is beyond Justice but you wouldn't address that. And as I sai earlier god could have easily used a goat because of his power of omnipotence!!I never placed a duty over God. He did it himself. God is the one who set justice in motion. Hmm. Let me put it this way. Gods will is that justice be carried out. His will is in sync with justice itself. We know that from his word. God is bound to fulfill his word. He is bound by his own perfect integrity, which is of himself. God is sustained by himself and his character has been chosen by himself. God has unlimited power, boundless strength. But his decision has been to be good. His supremacy is Justice itself. He is good. He has chosen to be good and love. And he has taken it upon himself to be a just and righteous judge. Because he is God. Why would God use a goat because of his power of omnipotence? Why would God disrupt the order and nature of his own universe? By using a goat, that does not live forever, as the eternal substitute and saviour of mankind. That would be ridiculous. God made a goat to be a goat and a sheep to be a sheep. Please what are you driving at? ![]() |
Ishilove:nawa o. Na so them don tie me to this thing so? ![]() |
ezme: King of an imaginary utopia you call heaven? He forsook his power as God and came to earth. Be died and rose again for our justification. It seems you do not know the meaning of sacrifice yourself: Sacrifice: 2. a. Forfeiture of something highly valued for the sake of one considered to have a greater value or claim. Jesus forfeited heaven and eternal power so that man could be reunited with God. |
Kay 17: You are getting distracted, I talked about the necessity of the sacrifice and you accepted that there was no duty upon God to conform to.before Jesus, God revealed himself to those who sought him in different ways, but now he has revealed himself to us through his son. There was a duty upon God to fulfill the requirements of justice for mankinds sin. And that would mean death eternally. God ingenius solution was Jesus Christ. What I'm saying is that the salvation of God was carried out in such a way that it didn't break any more rules, and didn't infringe on humanity's freewill or Gods omnipotence. |
obadiah777: top of the morning to ya Josh ![]() Morning sir. To also make this post unhideable, my complaint is that I've been laughing non-stop for about 3 minutes now. My heart nearly pumped air and I nearly passed out. The perpetuators of this dastardly act deserve to be banned gruesomely. ![]() |

OLAADEGBU: "A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."masterpiece |
Reyginus: Smh ![]() My sentiments exactly. |
ezme: I'm asking what exactly did he give up that he isn't presently having according to your belief?his sacrifice has already paid off. He gave up eternal glory, omniscience and became human. He paid the price and was exalted again. He did this for us. He was God. But he became man to deal with our problem, and he attained God status again to unite us with the father and put us in our proper place in the universe Such is the heaviness of the resurrection. A dead man opened his eyes in flesh, never to die again. A humbled man became a powerful king for us That at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is lord. His sacrifice was in his humulity even unto death because of his love for mankind. He tasted death for every man. |
Kay 17: You failed to appreciate God's omnipotence. God provides the value of every entity so also Justice. In so far as Justice does not impose a duty on God, his Will remains supreme to Justice.the things people say....if God wishes, he can make a goat more valuable than a human?! The sacrifice of Jesus was a genuine masterpiece. God saved man and dealt with evil in such a way that it won't disrupt his nature as God(his eternal omnipotence) and mans freewill |
Kay 17: I doubt if Jesus' sacrifice was necessary. God being omnipotent by nature isn't bound by necessity, he can do whatever he wishes. God did not have to sacrifice Jesus, a goat could have served the purpose and even better.you honestly believe a goat would have been a good enough sacrifice for the humanity of mankind? God is omnipotent, but the requirements of justice must be met. He's a judge. But he sent Jesus not only to die for man, but to be raised from the dead for mankinds justification. How would you like to put your trust in a goat that was raised from the dead. ![]() Smh. |
ezme: How is the death of Jesus a sacrifice?it was a sacrifice for God the son to humble himself and become human. To humble himself and become a carpenter's son, to walk the streets of old israel preaching the kingdom of God and being persecuted, to die a shameful death when he was not guilty of any crime. To take upon himself wrath and the sins of man and remain in the grave. His birth, life, and death are his sacrifice. |
macof: good for the world then. Thanks to Jesus ![]() How can you reject his sacrifice and still expect to be saved by him? Sorry, but Jesus doesn't force his salvation down people's throats. They have to accept him and believe him and trust him and repent. |
Ishilove: Josh, you really need to stop engaging these atheists in fruitless and repetitive arguments.I try to be more general. But its mostly them that start the arguments by postulating the same thing, making me repeat the same answer. |
aManFromMars: Everyone quotes out of context apart from you. Oh yes, the Holy Spirit is not in us.you're right about one part. I can't drop christ. I value my life. Do you value yours? |
For the wages of sin is death... (Romans 6:23) |
rationalmind: For those of us familiar with the bible, your pick and choose won't work .smh smh smh. You are the one quoting out of context. Matthew 5:29 So if your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away! It is much better for you to lose a part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell. 30 If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away! It is much better for you to lose one of your limbs than to have your whole body go off to hell. You misunderstand pauls letter to the galatians. |
macof: So when atheist/pagans die and about to enter heaven Jesus would appear and be like "because you didn't believe that I am the only son of the only God, you can't enter"nope. This is what happens when you read all those phony books or watch all those phony films about judgement. ![]() People won't enter heaven because they didn't believe in christ, they'll enter because of their sins. The wages of sin is death. Jesus came so that men who were guilty of sin and condemned would be able to be saved by trusting in him. They could be acquitted, set free. They could have their sins absolved. |
aManFromMars: Show how I quoted it out of context, you ignorant liar. Motherfucking slave.this was the first personal attack. How is this: I don't think you've ever read the bible, you just went through it to pick out verses to support your worldview. That's idolatry you know, trying to create a false image of God that's fits your choice of denying, rejecting and mocking him comfortably.a personal attack? |
aManFromMars: Edited what?how did I abuse you or begin a personal attack in that qute? Thank God its there for everyone to see. You are the one who started abusing me. |
