Buckubuck: Dats not official information that should come from ONSA to Army command. That never happened. The soldiers could have thought they were impersonating based on the instructions they got from their captain to apprehend them. If Army command had been informed by ONSA, no counter order will come up. You mean the ONSA ought to inform the Army any time policemen go out to arrest a suspect? |

Btw, so after commenting on a Muslim thread, where I was forced to swear that prophet Muhammad is what ever, what ever... is now on my profile? Like for real? So, if someone checks my profile that's what he would think I feel? Lol... This nairaland moderators ain't serious. I believe nothing. What ever happens on nairaland, remains in nairaland. Don't force any belief on us.
These Muslim guys comment on Christian posts freely. It's a nonsense policy. I've tried to tell Seun and his mods that if non-Moslems aren't allowed to comment on Moslem threads, fine, but don't put such threads on the homepage for those who are barred from commenting on them to read. But I guess Nairaland doesn't care about high standards. |

Flier: You just need education,some diarrhea can kill you within 6 hours and that is why you have to take antibiotics to be sure you are not in serious trouble Until they stop working or, in combination with other antibiotics, kill your gut microbiome, and you end up requiring a stool transplant or end up on your way to colon cancer! You don't have a clue, do you? Post more education, abeg. Nothing do you. |

Flier: Nonsense! Just don’t stop it anytime you have diarrhea Infact you must try tetracycline or flagyl immediately you have diarrhea to confirm if it’s actually diarrhea or it’s a very serious problem so you can head straight to the hospital immediately TRY antibiotics immediately to confirm if you have diarrhoea! SMH. |

Angelfrost: Ironically, it's most of your fellow doctors that compound the issue of antibiotics resistance... Nigeria is one of the few countries where "trained" medical doctors prescribe antibiotics for flu and common cold symptoms especially in pediatric cases. Same thing for self-limiting oto-infections...
The case of metronidazole use in non-complicated diarrhea is an age long abuse that will be difficult to curb, mostly due to the constipation-inducing side-effect of the drug (which most mistake as the main therapeutic effect). Thank you. |

All diz Twitter Dr sef one day dem go wake up nd tell us Paracetamol dey cure HIV nd Hapetis B... You people don't understand the problem - no, crisis - of the antibiotics resistance that is emerging; that's why you're attacking him. I doubt you even know what antibiotics are much less their pharmacology. The doc is not saying antibotics don't work. He's saying they work too much. He's saying that using antibiotics for the common diarrhoea is wrong because (1) It's like using an AK-47 to kill a cockroach (2) You're contributing to the problem of antibiotic resistance IN THE LONG TERM. There are simpler meds you can use that will work just as well - if you feel you must take meds. The day you get bitten by a nasty bug or catch an infection and all the antibiotics in the market refuse to work on your system, you will understand. |

Ray97: I blame both the soldiers and police officers involved everybody was doing show of force. Imagine if the police didnt return fire but surrenderd instead and then identify themselves later. What would have happened.. Let justice prevail abeg.
MODIFIED: some people quoting me are misunderstanding my position on this matter. Am not in anyway backing the army. Nobody really understood what happened but in cases like one have to look at the matter clearly. Yes the army killed the officers, yes the kidnapper suspect is at large now. But is this a case of corrupt or bad officers or just a misunderstanding. I mean if there was a sinister move on the side of the army, why are there survivals. Why didnt the soldiers kill all the cops then. What if the soldiers saw the guns and mistook the undercover officers for bad guys, panicked and then opened fire. What if there was a confrontation between the two security outfits and then it resulted into fracas. And what if the policemen thought the soldiers were bandits dressed like soldiers since only bandits would normally confront policemen transporting a crime boss? |

Martinez39: Student loan is really crippling many in young folks in America. College is now a business. Despite all the loans, nothing meaningful is taught instead colleges are indoctrination camps and cults for leftist properganda and fascism. It's a sad situation that needs to be addressed - but then Americans pride themselves on their cut-throat capitalism. It's working for them, I guess, since it has made them the most innovative and successful people in human history. But until they give their capitalism a human face, it's a choice. Many people are doing great things without a college degree. |

Now that he's dead, all the memories he lived by have gone. He now lives in a world of his own, a world of oblivion. He cannot know how people will take the news of his death, what people will say say about him, or how people will see his last deed on earth, which surely must be regretting his decision to live by faith instead of drugs to save his life. He is a loser.
May his soul, if anything like that, escape the fiery punishment of Allah and Yahweh in the afterworld. I thought you can only escape one. |

Kkings11: 1KG = 1000grammes.
so 1gram = 2000 / 1000
1gram = #2
1.8Kg = 1800g
1gram = 3500 / 1800
1 gram = 1.94 to 2decimal places
therefore the 1kg bag is more expensive by
#2 - 1.94 = 0.6per gram
OR 0.6 x 1000 = #60 per kilo Thank you. I guess you mean the 1kg bag is more expensive by N60 per kilo. |

Science/Technology › Re: Can Nigeria Mechanical Engineering Manufacture Car Engine? by JuanDeDios: 9:08pm On Aug 06, 2019 |
Less than 10 countries in the world manufacture cars from scratch to finish. The rest assemble. There are many things to make beside cars. For example, there are countries that don't manufacture cars from scratch but manufacture aeroplanes. Countries specialise in what they can make cost-effectively. That is why Americans import phones and telecom equipments from China and Korea. And that's why they taught you in your secondary school economics that international trade is based on COMPARATIVE COST ADVANTAGE. |

The Nigerian Army is the most retrogressive organization in this country. They have not changed since their founding some 150 years ago. Simplyleo: To me, this is a classical case of cure worse than the ailment. The little girl being a child may be thrilled by this "palliative", but in actual sense, it is no where close to the solution of her daily energy-sapping distant trekking.
The energy expended in riding that bicycle is almost double the energy required to trek.
However, may God reward her benefactor for making such attempt, and thanks to social media for bringing up her plight to the public. We pray she eventually get the appropriate assistance.
Also, such a long walk on the lonely path is not safe for a girl of her age, human ritualists are on the lookout. I'm not sure what you're on about. Riding a bicycle to school is far better than trekking. |

pocohantas: Why are people making the dumping ground statement?
It is not like Nigerians can afford brand new cars. Is this not the country where people buy 2003 cars and call it "brand new"?
There will always be market (demand) for fairly used things. If they are clean title cars, we are good to go. This is me addressing the "dumping ground" talk. I think it's the state of the cars people are concerned about. In the interest of the environment, you'd expect our government to put checks in place to ensure only cars in good conditions are brought in, but that's not what we'll get. |

Egbon Ayo dont be greedy. Just take the 1million Naira NYSC has offered you and allow your son to rest in peace. If a doctor was meant to be on duty and was not around or within a minute or so distance on being reached by phone, that is unacceptable. It is wrong of you to think this is about compensation money.
