Vick4rill:
juandedios i dont agree with the above assertion, that taking uneccessary risk and jeoperdising ones future and matrimonial home is as a result of nature. just like i said before, the feelings associated with sex have alot to do with perception. this show the more you think abt sex and pay attention to it, the more likely the urge will develop.nobody is giving anybody rules on how to live their life. i am only giving my own opinion on how i think most of this repercussions could be averted. After all most of the people i mention above , in one way or the other letter regret their actions. And dont you think is a big dishonesty to attribute and justify wat can easily be averted by self control to nature?
On that score, the core of my argument was that the human race would cease to exist if nature (or God, if you like) had not made sex what it is, that is, as something people would get mad about. The rest of your argument is just religious preachment couched in false garbs of reason. What are they jeopardising? You think you can stop people thinking about sex through a Nairaland post? And what do you want to "avert", evil sex?

But why are you so angry naa? You must be a malenist (the opposite of feminist). But, sha, I think you can say it the way you know how to talk. I doubt she'd turn you down for that reason
Romance › Re: Sex Is Over-rated!!! by JuanDeDios: 9:35pm On Dec 17, 2016
I agree the sexual act is overrated, but you have it upside down. You can't tell people what is pleasurable to them - they decide that for themselves. On the question of why people go through so much and risk so much just for sex, that is just nature. Like I said in another thread, sex is energy-sapping, laborious and quite messy, yet we keep going back for a fix for some reason. That is nature. Once you get your fix you feel satisfied but in a few moments, you start to crave it again. If it was not meant that way, many men would spend all their energy chasing money and would not have time for sex and the human race would have been wiped out long ago. On your view that anyone needs a piece of paper to engage in sex, no, they don't. If you want to preach religion, preach religion, but don't couch it in pseudophilosophy and pretend you are talking reason. There are things more important than a piece of paper - like love and commitment. Even those who chose to engage in casual sex, we can't really stop them now, can we?
Politics › Re: FACT-CHECK: Senate Confirmation: How SSS Lied Against EFCC Boss, Magu by JuanDeDios: 3:43pm On Dec 17, 2016
Noblesoul123:
This looks like a sponsored publication. The best thing that Magu should do is to prove his innocence in terms of the allegations contained in the Secret Report beyond reasonable doubt. Providing documentary evidence of flight manifest, title deeds of his rented house etc, will go a long way to help his case.

As for Premium Times It's very interesting that just two days ago, the Senate made public the reason for the non-confirmation of Magu based on a security report by the DSS and just two days later, Premium Times has conducted and concluded a report that exonerates Magu of any wrong-doing?
We are watching this show of shame
Your post looks sponsored.

The newspaper went into its archives and brought out investigations it did in the past regarding some of the cases. It then carried out investigations of new cases mentioned. Why is this hard for you to understand? Please tell us how many days are required for an investigation.
Romance › Re: Why Every Man Must Bend A Kneel To Propose. by JuanDeDios: 2:16pm On Dec 17, 2016
Talk2Bella:
Do you want to know the symbolism of going down on one knee to propose? That’s submission, that’s protection, that’s acceptance, that’s seeking, you go down on one knee, look up to her and she looks down on you, she sees all your flaws and accepts you for who you are and not what you are, in that moment you kneel you have given her the impression that she comes first before anyone, your back is there to bear her burdens, your shoulder is there for her to rest on, your knee is there to support her, when she looks down on you with love and sincerity her prayers for you are accepted in heaven. Going down on one knee represents, honor, respect, surrender, humility, etc.
I'm wondering if this is what it really means or if you made it up. Anyway, you made one or two useful points in your write-up, even though I think your premise is flawed.
Talk2Bella:
Real men know what I mean, real men know what I’m talking about, it’s another Saturday and you’re screaming women are evil, women are deceitful, women are cunning, women are this, women are that but your mates are getting married because they know the right thing to do, keep saying you can’t go down on one knee to propose and your future partner will keep passing you by.

Fact is.. It has been prioritised.. Consciously or not..
That depends on what you call prioritisation. I mean, if the life he had before remained intact, how is that prioritisation? I agree it does take up an inordinate amount of mental resources, but that isn't really the problem; it's just a symptom. The problem is falling in love in the first place. Take that out and he would not be in the mental anguish he is now. Maybe those who don't fall in love are better off, but that's just a function of your mental model.

Well, ure right. Sex is really strength sapping but definitely not time consuming. Now u shud know man is originally insatiable, whatever that gives man pleasure can never get him tired. Despite the amount of sex or number of rounds a man goes for sex, he can never be satisfied. Sex is adventuruous and man being an adventurous animal can never get tired of embarking on adventures, just to know better. I hope that answers u. Thanks for following. Updating soon
Sex can be time-consuming, unless you're into sharp sharp - which is bad sex. If you're into Tantra and all that, pleasure is at a whole new level but the time spent goes up tenfold. Mind you, I'm not saying this isn't time well spent, especially since it enhances connection in a committed relationship which is well worth your time. I'm just listing time as a factor in sex.

But fine points, you made. Carry on.

This is what happens when you make women top priority..

Money should be directly below the Kingdom of God on your list, which should be the First....
It's not about making women top priority. It's falling in love. It's nasty. It doesn't mean he changed his relationship with his work, family, friends and other things. Those things remained as before but love just happens and you're a goner. The worst part of it is that your feelings make you prone to all sorts of errors which can piss the other person off and if you're not lucky enough that they see through your mistakes and see the real you, God help you!

Must be a ghastly typo. Maybe she meant 32.5 (that's a good 12.something inches). I guess she should have stuck to inches. Her post sounds a bit immature, anyway. Some people live in a universe they created inside their own head. If I got the chance to talk to her I would explain to her why no serious man would respond.

I noticed recently on the GTBank's platform that bank transfers no longer work, except 737
when you try to make 3rd party transfers, account retrieval works, which means GTB is able to communicate with 3rd party banks
but you will be greeted with "sorry we are unable to process your request, please try again later"

when you call their customer service, they will tell you to use 737
I believe the 737 is not secure and not properly designed,
the last time, someone claimed he transferred money 6 times because the system kept returning a failure message
meanwhile, at the background, the transfers were going ballistics

i am of the opinion that the developers, if well trained on transactional programming should have atleast written a logical check to ensure same customer has not transferred same amount to the same beneficiary in a span of 15mins or so.

a friend recently complained that whenever he tries to load his phone credits via quickteller, GTB ensures that his card fails, so maybe you will have no choice than to use their 737
can anyone confirm if they experience any of these or it is just coincidental in my case.

thanks
They're compelling everyone to use it nowadays. I have another account with another bank where I do electronic transactions, and I left the GTB account for cheques only because it's my client account and quite often has substantial amounts. Now, they've forced me to start doing 737 on it. Time to find another bank that will let me bank the way I want.

While a job or scholarship are a notch above bread and beans, they are still firmly within the ambit of stomach infrastructure. A legislator's job description is what he should be taken up on.

Some are repelled by it for whatever reason(s),some have embraced it with the whole fibre of their beings for reason(s) which they honestly believe in...some are on the fence too for some reasons or maybe just indecision has kept them there. For me,...oh well, maybe when I am done, you can help me define my stance but first I have a story...
Some months ago,a notable legal personality cum scholar came to lecture us on a particular topic which he has an expertise in. The class was filled up, believe me, that course gives more than half of us the bejeezus so I guess my classmates were as curious as I was to meet the man who was a guru at it. He came but with a group of people who at introduction were all legal practitioners. They were all men with just one lady. They were all given a seat in front of the class while the legal guru rendered his superb lecture. By the way, that was the most interesting land law lecture of my life. I listened to him speak and I also watched the rest keenly. Some of them were interested and enjoyed it too like some of us but some were bored and were trying to wait out the lecture, none looked as bored as the lady while she crossed her legs and chewed her gum very decently( rare skill I assure you). My lecturer was in the bid to bring the lecture to a grand close, then one of the rest indicated an interest to talk to us. As we discovered, He was a Lion and President of a Customary Court of Appeal;his dress sense and speech skills were impeccable, I was impressed. After his charge, the meeting was brought to a close and we all dispersed. As I was heading back to my hostel, one of my course mates caught up with me and asked me after pleasantries whether I felt the woman was (marginalized or discriminated against, I can't remember his exact diction). I laughed then told me that I didn't because she didn't have any interest to talk to us and if she did, she didn't show it and I knew no one there was a mind reader. I brought to his remembrance the President who indicated interest and was given a chance. He smiled, gave me a look and walked on. I didn't give the issue more thinking time then.
That's the end of my story but you see pals, the concept I have been trying to shape my words around since up there is feminism. My real encounter with this concept was in 200level with the study of Children, Women and the Law. My mind was opened to information, facts, issues and so much more about this concept, some genuine and some ridiculous in my opinion. It made me seek counsel both scholarly, spiritually and some -ally ways I cannot define.
I discovered that I don't want to be a feminist not because I don't want to believe in women and their ability to deliver at responsibilities but simply because I realized that the word 'feminism' does not have an "in rem" definition. It then means if I say I am one, what is in my mind may not match what is in yours and no way I am going to let what I don't know define me.(Aside: also because many man-haters are using the concept as a cloak)
So I decided that I am an ardent believer of give honour to whom honour is due, gender notwithstanding. If the skirt can do it better than the trousers, she should not be sidelined simply because she is the skirt. She should be allowed to achieve her dreams and goals. She should be allowed to compete with the male for things which God in Heaven has not forbidden her to compete for and not be intimidated simply because she is female. If she wants to climb a tree, allow her to, I believe she's counted the cost of climbing a tree. I decided that I am against subduing and oppressing of women simply because they are women and they 'cannot do anything'.
When it comes to the divine aspect, on the authority of the Bible, I believe that men and women are created equal but their duties and responsibilities are different. Check out the curses of Adam and Eve. God has made them both different and none inferior to each other but each to complement and supplement each other in view of achieving one goal.
Then,to my fellow ladies, woman is the love child of God Almighty. It was only before making her that God admitted that something was not good in His own paradise. The favorite of a parent can never be sidelined even if he or she is the youngest. Always seek out, work towards and stand in God's will for your life and no man or woman will be able to topple you. You remember that bae in the bible called Deborah...
Another thing I discovered is that this concept is a Changeling and in my suggestion has to be applied like the mischief rule. What I am saying in essence is that objectivity should be made a main focus while dealing with any real or seeming issue of feminine discrimination.
Again I discovered that no matter how much we protest, shriek and stamp our dainty little feets, some deepseated customs can never change. My grandpa will never let me go get the yam from his barn and would prefer Ekene my toddler nephew to go get it. You think I should barge into the barn like a heroine and get the yam to show him? Lol, no way. Here, the battle is won in the mind. You are not inferior to the male simply because custom says so. Grandpa has his way but my mind gets my say...believe me,that's all that matters...

-A friend
Interesting. You're very intelligent! I like your analysis and use of metaphors.
