sunboy: Now I can see the USA is determined to destroy this country. Just yesterday the military was complaining about the USA blocking their ways that we were blacklisted to buy arms because of human rights violations, I didn't really believed it because we can always buy from Russia, Iran, China and even India who won't wait a second to sell. Now I'm reading about human right publishing this shi.t now I believed whatever the military excuse of laundering such cash. This mu.mu human right people no see Israel on Palestine soil committing anything, the USA Guatemala bay ? The Russian KGB method which was considered the toughest? The Indians torture was sef especially their police. What the mess does the USA stands to gain from a divided or destroyed Nigeria ?
I also strongly believe that I.diot Australian old man is a plant by the western world who's volunteering to talk sh.it he wasn't paid to do. All these doesn't just add up ?
Bottom line: either USA like it or not, petrodollar is going for good, then they can start surviving on their technology and become their dream world largest oil exporter. I'm beginning to dislike that country this days and their puppets media must especially BBC who never publish any good news from the military but look for lope holes. Like the same USA would have brought peace to Liberia suppose Nigeria army didn't single handedly did.
I'm vex.ed
And you know AI didn't talk about Guatanamo and co?

You see, our highly skilled people will kill to get out of our country and go "make it" in the West - because our country remains in the stone age due to bad leadership. They're simply making the process easier for them. They money they are giving us will no doubt do us some good if they design and supervise projects themselves. If they give it to our leaders it will end up in foreign accounts and real property as usual. We are the worst dummies in the universe considering the kind of leadership we have. Remember our leaders don't come from space - they come from among us. Nigerians ought to be angry, very angry. But no, the next guy on the street is not looking to change the system but how to get in and join in the looting bazaar that is governance in Nigeria. We are dummies - no two ways about it.

nuclearboy: Ridiculous lies - is it an army general that went to CBN, changed 1.6Billion into dollars, then managed to find Mr BlingBling's jet, an Israeli and 2 of his friends, gave them 9 million dollars in cash and asked they go buy weapons?

The ONLY agency that has such capabilities in Nigeria is the Presidency itself so releasing a statement that you being "briefed" about this is an insult - everyone know you were involved and this is just damage control!

These denials are only going to make peoople wonder if truly, as some people say, the weapons were not meant for the political BH which is now starting to look real with the actors involved - the coincidences are becoming too much and point to a sinister design against Nigeria from its own high offices
I think he's being briefed on the mess in Johannesburg. Plus he wouldn't know the small details after approving an arms purchase. There's been a consistency in the government response so far and it doesn't look like there's a cover up.

A few months back there was a detailed report written by some international journalist about how our MoD people opt to purchase arms through third parties - to expand the opportunities for kick backs, of course. It has been going on like that forever and our course you can't expect Jonathan's government of Corruption Incorporated to do anything about that. I believe this third-party wheeling dealing led them to this mess.

DaBullIT: Follow the news from the time it broke and use more than one news website as reference , you would see there is no coverup intended

I don't like Jonathan , or CAN and i do not support either , i think its time to think from outside the box
Well, I have also noticed the consistency in the statements coming from government's direction. It looks like they are telling the truth.

What I think happened here is that in a bid to collect kick backs MoD people decided to use third party in the purchase of arms as they usually do, rather than government to government transactions.

What I don't get is how we got to such a low point where bunglers are allowed to run things. See embarrassment.

Politics › Re: Oritsejafor And Company: Tainted And Jittery - Nasir El-rufai by JuanDeDios: 12:14am On Sep 18, 2014
omoalaro: 17th September,

2014PRESS RELEASE:CASH-LOADED JET AND WEAPONS DEAL: IT IS A CONSPIRACY AGAINST MUSLIMS

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor was alleged to have admitted ownership of a private jet seized last weekend by South African authorities. The aircraft was stashed with $9.3 million in cash meant for arms purchase. In the same vein, the Federal Government (FG) issued a statement yesterday admitting ownership of the cash. Oritsejafor has sought to extenuate the deal by claiming that the jet was hired out by Eagle Air in which the pastor himself has “residual interest”. The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) is alarmed by this scandalous development. We have every reason to reject FG’s explanation and it is hereby rejected. Government is being economical with the truth. We suspect a grand conspiracy against Nigerian Muslims in this latest revelation. Nigerian Muslims are enveloped with apprehension. All the ingredients of a plot are here for those who care to look beyond their noses. In a country in which two religions are most prominent and are hot rivals of each other, here is the national leader of a religious group who also happens to be the president’s kinsman, an undisguised Muslim hater, a man with a belligerent disposition towards his Muslim neighbours, a man who has been threatening hell and brimstone over the Boko Haram saga. Tie this to the Israeli connection, a country well known for its anti-Muslim and mass murder propensities. It raises more questions than answers. For instance, was the intended arms purchase really meant for the Nigerian Armed Forces? What is the guaranty that it was not meant for Niger Delta militants, or Christian crusaders masquerading as Boko Haram? Afterall, under-the-table assistance for Boko Haram has been noticed in the past. Where did the arms and food drops for Boko Haram by helicopters come from? Only the Israelis are capable of doing that. MURIC is shocked by the huge amount involved: $9.3 million! Conservatively, $1m is N163m. $9.3m is therefore N1,514,502,583.61 at the current exchange rate of N163 to $1. It is very disturbing for this to be happening in a country bedeviled by serious security challenges bordering on religious rivalry and ethnic jingoism. There is definitely something sinister about all these. We assert that Nigerian Muslims are not safe any longer. We are not safe in the hands of Israeli military advisers breathing down the neck of the Nigerian government and encouraging it to arm the Christians to the teeth. The fate of Nigerian Muslims is therefore not certain. We have lost confidence in FG and its security agencies, particularly with the involvement of Israel. Islamic scholars are disappearing at will all over the country. Recruitment exercises into the security outfits favour Christians even in Muslim dominated areas. President Jonathan has just concluded a national conference whose composition was lopsided and in favour of Christians. FG relies heavily on Israel, a well-known anti-Muslim country for its security matters. Palpable fear of religious cleansing has therefore gripped Muslims. Whole Muslim communities are already being wiped out in the North East under the guise of ‘Boko Haram’. Just two months ago, 34 Muslims who were followers of Shaykh Ibrahim Alzakzaky were massacred by soldiers in Zaria and nothing has been heard of it. MURIC calls on the National Assembly to save Nigeria from total disintegration. This jet and cash story is a scandal of monumental proportion and it must not be swept under the carpet. The National Assembly must intervene in order to calm nerves. This is not the hand of Esau and the voice of Jacob. It is the hand of President Jonathan and the voice of Oritsejafor. There is an unholy union here. An aircraft owned by a war-mongering and current national president of CAN, the cash is being claimed by a Christian-led, Muslim-repressing government, there is more to this than meets the eye. We are no longer safe. MURIC demands the termination of all security deals with the Israelis in Aso Rock, the seat of government. It is too dangerous to involve a country like Israel, an anti-Muslim country in the security matters of a country like Nigeria, deeply polarized by religious sentiments. Only a government with an anti-Muslim agenda will do such a thing. It is time for the Israelis to be kept at bay regarding key security issues in Nigeria. We advise President Jonathan to change his tactics, to integrate Muslims into his government, to stop the political marginalization of Muslims, to review the Christian-loaded recruitment into the security agencies, to probe the disappearance of Islamic scholars and the killing of Muslims in Zaria and to balance the sharing of the dividends of democracy between Christians and Muslims.  We warn that the lopsided recruitment into the security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Army in the past three years, smacks of a more sinister plot to systematically wipe out Nigerian Muslims through extra-judicial killings. We draw the attention of the international community to acts of pro-Christian favouritism and anti-Muslim practices of President Jonathan. The Nigerian leader is deliberately dividing his citizens along religious lines. MURIC affirms that it seeks peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims. We are prepared to live with our neighbours. We urge those fanning the embers of war and amassing weapons to remember the plight of Liberia, Congo, Sierra Leone, Bosnia Herzegovina, etc. The ravages of war, the sufferings of millions of innocent young and old are better imagined than experienced. Finally, we appeal to Muslims throughout Nigeria to allow the National Assembly to wade into the matter. Meanwhile, we charge them to remain calm and law-abiding.

Director,Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC)

His approach was reactive rather than proactive. Sawyer should have been quarantined at the airport and those who're dead would be alive today. This guy had the massive resources of the FGN at his disposal yet he waited for Ebola to settle down before lifting a finger. Besides Commissioner Idris did most of the heavy lifting. And look how long it took them to get the 200m to Lagos.

Acidosis: and you feel it's right to accuse him even when your allegations aren't based on facts?

Haven't you seen uncompleted storey buildings in the country?
What makes you think a man like T.B Joshua will consult a neighbourhood bricklayer for a massive project?
What makes you think a man like T. B. Joshua will not consult a neighbourhood bricklayer for a massive project?

Okay, you prefer my second option then - he consulted professionals but went against their advice. Since a year one engineering student won't let you build five storeys on a foundation laid for two. But on the chance that he consulted a professional and was told it's okay to go ahead with the project, then you may have a case against the engineer. That is why I said questions need to be asked.

Now, go back to my original post and read it PROPERLY. I did not use the word jail or arrest - because I don't have all the facts. The word I used was QUESTION. It is a dereliction of duty and a failure of government if a building collapses, killing people, and a prima facie case of criminal negligence occasioning manslaughter is allowed to slide. What happened here was clearly foreseeable - according to the head of LASEMA. The police should invite Mr Joshua for questioning immediately so as to find out what happened. I would have expected the victims to bring a civil action but these are Mr Joshua's followers, so I won't even go there.

The apparent case here is that someone was building a five storey house on a foundation laid for two - you have not addressed that - in fact, you said there's nothing wrong with it. I hope the police don't agree with you but I won't hold my breath.

Acidosis: ..and what's wrong with that?

Is he a builder? Architect? Engineer?
You don't know what's wrong with building five storeys on a foundation laid for two? Yes, he is not an engineer - that is exactly why he should have consulted one. It is either he failed to consult professionals or he did and spurned their advice. I hope I have spelt it out for you sufficiently?
Christianity Etc › Re: Synagogue Church Statement On Collapsed Building by JuanDeDios: 12:33pm On Sep 13, 2014
In a serious country this guy is answering questions from stone-faced detectives already. You ordered the extension of a two-storey building to five storey or more and you're here talking gibberish and making it look like it was a minor incident involving a couple of people or so. I get tired of this country everyday.

To say the least, that seems odd.

Kudos to the Nigerian Army for stopping the assault on Maiduguri. I think and hope that the days of Boko Haram are numbered.
I share your concerns, knowing what we know about the way information has been managed so far. But zero casualty on one side is possible in an ambush situation. It was reported that the Army had intelligence these guys were coming and so set an ambush, waited for the most opportune moment and attacked from various sides. "Possible", I said, not likely.

What I find disturbing is that an APC was allowed to escape. Does it mean there was no helicopter cover? Where was the Air Force?
