winkmart: Christianity in Nigeria has not only gone wrong, I think most of the pastors and church members have gone mad!
On the 22nd of July 2016, at about 10:30am at Ajibawo in Ado odo OTA division 2; NSCDC officers rescued a 9-year old boy named Taiwo Korede, who had been chained for weeks at Celestial Church of Christ Key of Joy Parish, Ajiwo. The case has since been transfered to the appropriate authority for further investigation.
How can a parent or assumed child of God do this to a child? What was his crime? This is child abuse at its finest. And I hop every one involved is brough to book Humans have lost all senses of humanity!
http://www.blackberrybabes.com/2016/07/9-year-old-boy-chained-with-padlocks-at.html that was a reckless remark by you. The fact that few christians behave contrary to expectations is not enough for making such an unguarded remark. Caption it few or some rather than most. That is most provocative. |

tomax026: Hello my people, This day 23/7, has always bn a memorable day for me cos its my birthday..Oya wish me Happy Birthday first before you continue reading...
But today I took my precious mum to the park, but when I was coming back, I met people gathered,so It was when I parked that I was told a man boarded a taxi at dangotte area of ilorin, he sat at d front seat, and he died before getting to Offa garage junction, its just like 5mins drive that the man died... It was so sad, when people called d last calls on his phone, we learnt he was going with them to a ceremony..They later came... But what made me to be sadder was that, when d man gashed, and showing the sign of last breath, the taxi driver packed, even he didn't park well, and he ran out of d vehicle, told d people around, and he took a bike to a police station..its sad, the fear of police trouble made him not to take d man to the hospital, even people who gathered with the man's friends cant act because of police fear, we waited for close to 2hrs before police came, took picture, and take him away... in all, pls we must change our laws in Nigeria, must people fear police than d life of a dying people..people don't want to help to avoid police wahala .instead of hospital, is police station..even the man may not have died if timely taken to the hospital..its seems is heart attack sha, but may God save us as numerous people are battling with various health challenges,,we even learnt the man shows no sign of illness this early morning...Death can come anytime. Let's do good all the time...
This dent my birthday, but God must be praised in all things... MOD help celebrate my birthday by moving this to front page.. Thanks what the driver did was wrong but I think it was the best option for him. If he had moved a step further in attempt to take the man to the hospital, two things may happen. 1- If he runs into a police checking point, the ll get him arrested for being a ritualist. 2- The hospital will reject the man because the will request for deposit which the taxi driver will not be ready to pay even if he has such money. |

Kolababe: This looks too Strange and mysterious to be true but according to a broadcast sent on bbm by one Shoye Benson and some other Bbm users with the photo displayed this was said to have happened last night along Opebi road in Lagos. Read the Broadcast.
"I was my colleagues's car along Opebi road last night going home from work when i sighted this curvaceous woman (see my DP) who caused a little traffic as she walked naked in public. The funny thing is that she was walking proudly like a model and Instead of coming to her rescue, some of the passersby started photographing her but she seemed less concerned with the attention she was creating along the busy road. She eventually turned towards a building, i think it was an hotel or club. It’s not clear whether the woman had gone berserk or what really forced her to walk naked in public. My concern is this, we need to be more prayerful in this era. A lot of strange this are happening As i head home last, night the question that kept popping up in my head is, what could have made such a beautiful lady go expose her womanly pride in such a public? May we never be victims of circumstances. Amen! "

NavierStokes: the actions of this government brings the case of one "Rehoboam" to mind.
"Yes, my father laid heavy burdens on you, but I'm going to make them even heavier! My father beat you with whips, but I will beat you with scorpions"
going at this rate we may soon get this reaction from Nigerians:
" So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to your own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents." No better way to explain it. Do we have to die because the price of oil has fallen in the int market? Was that not why the price of pms was increased from N86/L to N145/L. You increased the price of pms & we reduced our consumption. Add tax, then we will sell our cars & begin to use fire wood, then we will know it was during their regime we moved back to the stone age. Because they wanted power by all means, they made promises we knew they could not fulfil, but somehow we lost our senses & fell for their deceit. They won the elections & started looking for who to blame. How on earth could a man promise that N1 will exchange for a dollar & people believed, they can not even stabilise the naira now talkless of making it to be at par with the dollar. God help us o. |
Car Talk › Re: Why The Placing Of A 4-yr Expiry Date For tyres is wrong by july66: 12:43pm On Jul 22, 2016 |
nedu2000: Tyres are made to resist elasticity and are made to be rugged!! How would a tyre which after its manufacturing date is stamped on(could've been backdated) and possibly kept in a warehouse for weeks or even months be given an expiry date?
If a tyre is to have an expiry date 4yr from its manufacture then why isn't the expiry date written to its body? FRSC who isn't a manufacturer and likewise doesn't have the ability to know the true composition of respective tyres shouldn't be the one to impose expiry dates on them. What if I bought a car(tyres) and I rarely used it for 4yrs,would I be compared to tyres that undergo inter-state trips everyday for 2yrs?
What the FRSC should however be doing is to physically inspect tyres for wear/tear. To ask the citizens of 3rd-world countries to change its tyres every 4yrs is tasking and would push people to prioritise 'date of manufacture' to the actual quality of tyres. FRSC hierarchy just derive pleasure in making life difficult for Nigerians. Let them write letters to different tyre manufacturers in Europe for advise on the failure causes in tyre usage so that they can be guided rather than making policies over what they know nothing about. I did an M Sc thesis on the causes of accident on our roads & as far as tyre failure is concerned overloading of vehicles beyond tyre capacity & worn tyres are the main causes. Let them start enforcement on this & commercial vehicles on inter state routes especially those 18 seater buses using old tyres. These are vessels of mass destruction. |

photoshoot: Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Sanusi Rikiji, in connection with an alleged plot to impeach the state Governor, Abdulaziz Yari.
Rikiji and other principal officers of the Assembly, who were picked up on Tuesday in Gusau, the state capital, are said to be currently detained in Abuja.
Those said to be detained along with him are the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Gumi; the Majority Leader, Isah Abdulmumini; and the Chief Whip, Abdullahi Dansadau.
https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/punchng/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/28003610/Abdulaziz-Yari.jpg
The House of Assembly, however, on Wednesday, listed six impeachable offences against Yari, in an apparent move to begin an impeachment process against the governor.
A statement issued in Gusau by the Chairman, Zamfara State House of Assembly’s Committee on Information, Alhaji Mannir Gidan-Jaja, accused the governor of misappropriating billions of naira from the state coffers.
It listed the money allegedly misappropriated to include N11bn bailout, N1bn agricultural loan released to the state by the Central Bank of Nigeria and “corrupt abuse of local government funds.”
The Assembly also accused the governor of failing to remit funds deducted for pensions and gratuities to pension fund administrators, as provided by law.
According to the statement, the governor had also ignored a resolution of the Assembly not to appoint Alhaji Murtala Jangebe as the Chairman of the state Universal Basic Education Board.
It said that the Assembly had passed a vote of no confidence on Jangebe, after he was allegedly found to have misappropriated over N1bn belonging to the board in 2014.
The statement accused the governor of frequent foreign trips which, the lawmakers argued, had negative impact on the day-to-day running of the government, apart from imposing financial burden on the state.
The lawmakers condemned the arrest of the Speaker, his deputy, Majority Whip and supporting staff of the assembly by the DSS.
The lawmakers described the arrest as a clear interference in the functions of the legislature.
The statement urged President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the DSS against further interference in the matter.
“We are also demanding the unconditional release of our principal officers, who are currently under detention with the DSS in Abuja,’’ the lawmakers said.
The state Assembly also alleged that the governor did not release monthly cash allocation to the Ministries, Departments and Agencies, including the state Assembly. They also questioned the usage of funds meant for local governments for state purposes.
Furthermore, the legislature expressed its distaste for the appointment of the Chairman of SUBEB, who it said should not occupy public office.
Responding, Yari described as wild all allegations levelled against him by the state assembly.
Yari, who spoke through one of his Special Advisers to the governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara, faulted the six-point grudge against the governor, who he claimed the President had publicly acknowledged and praised for being one of the best performing governors in the country.
On the allegation of low budgetary release, Dosara said, “A checklist of all the states in the federation shows that there is virtually a blanket paucity of funds nationwide and Zamfara State cannot be an exception from this national setback.”
On the allegation against the SUBEB’s chairman appointment in spite of alleged corruption levelled against him by the lawmakers, Dosara said Jangebe had yet to be found guilty by any court of law of competent jurisdiction.
He added, “Suffice it to say that most, if not all the claims in the legislators grievances, are baseless, unfounded and self-seeking, with the aim of inciting the general public against the governor for reasons best known to them.”
He said the governor also challenged the legislative members to provide any evidence or proof of his use of state funds on his numerous trips outside the state or the country.
On the demand for the release of the principal officers currently answering questions with the security agencies, he said it was incomprehensible to accuse the governor or even ask him to secure the release of their people because the governor has no hand in their plight.
“He is neither the DG, SSS nor the IG of Police,” he said.
Dosara wondered why the lawmakers were calling on Buhari to intervene in the crisis with Yari after “they collectively disrespected the President by boycotting all his activities when he visited the state last week.”
Source: http://punchng.com/assembly-begins-yaris-impeachment-dss-arrests-speaker-others/ It is because of acts like this that the DSS is accused of being a tool of the APC. House of assembly members are now being arrested to prevent them from carrying out their constitutional duties. I belief if the Zamfara governor were to be Fayoshe, rather than arrest the house officials they would have encouraged them. Agencies like this should be neutral in my opinion. |
