PoliticsRe: Hausas Clash With Igbos In Akowa, Imo State - Graphic Photos by july66: 12:46pm On Aug 13, 2016
ChangeIsCostant:
At least six persons have been feared dead and several others injured in a blood spilling clash between the indigenes of Akowa in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo state and Hausa people living in the community.

The incident which occurred during the evening hours Friday, has led to the lost of properties, burning of the community and people deserting their locality in the process .

According to reports, an Hausa man had ran amuck killing two indigenes and equally taking his own life thereafter. This in turn made the residents engage in a reprisal attack leading to the deaths of four others.

According to Okeoma News, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Mr Andrew Enwerem, a Deputy Superintendent of police, DSP, said that his office has received a report that three persons were killed in the attack, while several others were injured and receiving treatments at various hospitals.

The police spokesperson further disclosed that on receiving the information, the state commissioner of police, CP, Mr Taiwo Lakanu, personally mobilised officers and led operation to the community where normalcy has been restored.

Mr Enwerem said that the police officers have take over the community, while investigation into the cause of the violence and subsequently the killings and with the view of bringing the perpetrators to justice have immediately been launched.

Hausa muslims are an intolerant breed. They harass people with boko haram & kill in the name of Allah at the slightest provocation in the north, fight the yorubas in Lagos & now this. The violent desert spirit of the north at work.

I thought Amaju Pinnick was coming to revolutionise Nigerian football. He started with the mistake of appointing Oliseh & paying him many months salary upfront & now this. And what is the sports minister doing in Brazil if not to handle issues like this. I think this dream team is one of Nigeria's hope for medal.

but why did u choose to ignore the past? I remember quite well that all this started few months to Jonathan leaving.it was as if PDP planned it.I remember that during the last minutes of gej there was virtually no electricity everywhere, no worked was paid, dollar was rising as hell.why are we now blaming all this on buhari for chrisake.one thing I can blame him for is not taking d right steps in diversification. I'll not join your ilk in overlooking d past.are u ignorant of the 70 dollar disparity BTW what buhari is earning and what PDP earned? are u ignorant of the fact that your foolish Niger deltans are reducing income? Buhari did not start all this.I challenge any1 to prove it.This should be a time of reflection. we have lost our golden years to PDP. it will be hard to make the money we made then now again. We should be hoping that Jonathan and co never go scot free for ripping us for 16 yrs.
what you are saying in other words is that we should not criticise Buhari as the Emir suggested. Thank you for your partisanship.

The Emir must be out of his mind. So if Buhari is making mistakes the northerners should be clapping hands until the roof collapse on our heads. Criticism helps the head to sit up. When Obasanjo was president, his greatest critics & antagonists were from the south west with Tinubu & co playing the biggest roles. I don't know what traditional rulers are turning themselves to. The other day traditional rulers in a local government donated money to support a candidate in Edo state. I think they no longer deserve to be referred to as royal fathers.

Lagos state police command has arrested 47 year old Emmanuel Magbatie…for a case of defilement. The suspect lives in Ikorodu with the parents of the 18month old baby that was defiled. The mother of the victim narrated to the police that on the 5th of August, her daughter went to play in the suspect’s room as usual, but she was shocked to meet the suspect fingering the 18 month old baby when she went to pick her up. The suspect who blamed his action on the devil has since been charged to court.

PoliticsRe: Solomon Asemota Accuses Buhari Of Appointing Islamist Jihadists by july66: 10:30am On Aug 12, 2016
SuperPanther:
Editor’s note: Solomon Asemota, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), on behalf of some Christian groups in the country has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of discriminatory appointments against non-Muslims in Nigeria. The author claims that Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri Ethnic nationalities, immigrants to Nigeria are pushing the nation to an implosion.

The brazen and audacious imposition of Islamist Jihadists into key positions in the country is not an expression of religious piety but a deliberate manipulation of religion for cultural and political domination by three ethnic groups. This agenda commenced in 1975 after the overthrow of General Gowon. The Islamist Jihadists are a violent and domineering strain of Islam rejected by mainstream Muslims. We are reminded that after the Arab Spring, Tunisia and Egypt elected Islamists of the Muslim brotherhood into power. One year later, the two Arab Islamic Nations staged another revolution and sacked them. If Arab nations could not tolerate Islamist Jihadists’ domination, we wonder how Nigeria, a multi-cultural, multi-religious, multi-lingual, and multi-ethnic nation would cope with the dire consequences of flooding government with Islamist Jihadists. It is pertinent to explain that there is a difference between Islam and Islamism. While Islam is a religion, Islamism is but a political ideology that holds that Islam is not only a religion but a political system that must dominate wherever Islam is practiced in the world. Islamism is the ideology driving the Taliban, Al Shabab, Al Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen and others. Islamism operates through religious terrorists and stealthily through “Civilization Jihad” (deceit) both seek to undermine democratic societies and convert them forcefully to Sharia states.

All attempts to draw the attention of the Buhari administration through previous press releases and press conferences have, mischievously, been interpreted as politics. We are also dismayed that the Christian Coalition Group as well as other arms of Christians in Nigeria that have expressed concern about evolving issues in the nation have been described as members of a political party (the PDP). This is a very disappointing response to very serious national issues. As Nigerians, we have the right to comment on issues that are of great importance to the nation especially when our elected representatives chose to be silent.

While we were worried about the lopsided appointments in the security services, we also noticed, a few days ago, that the education sector has been privatized in the hands of only the Fulanis and Islamist Jihadists. Virtually all strategic federal educational offices/appointments, have gone to persons with Islamist Jihadists tendencies as heads in the universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, University Admissions Board (JAMB), educational funding and policy departments, etc. Our concern is not about the job and appointments but the fundamental Islamist Jihadists agenda that is playing out in Nigeria. What the list of students’ admission will look like in the nearest future in our nation with an Islamist Jihadist in charge of JAMB, we are constrained to ponder. Violation of principle of federal character in federal appointments Section 171 sub-Section 5 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) stipulates that the President in exercising his powers of appointment under this section shall have regard to the Federal Character of Nigeria and the need to promote National unity.

A critical look at the list of appointments by this administration shows utter disregard for issues that promote National unity and a gross violation of the Constitution. We wonder how Mr. President can relate the impunity of his administration to his mantra; fight against corruption. By flagrantly violating Sections 171(5) and 10 of the Constitution, the President has presented himself as corrupt. Below are some of the very important appointments made by “Federal Islamist Jihadist’s imperial Government” to confirm our apprehension: Chief Executives of Educational institutions:

1. Head of Universities: NUC Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Hausa/Fulani Muslim

2. Head of Polytechnics: Hausa/Fulani Muslim

Very sad. This negates the principle of federal character. I thought Buhari was a statesman but its now clear he is an ethnic bigot. With this details I think Buhari has carried out his threat to carry along only those who voted for him & the Igbos have every right to seek to be on their own. All those sympathisers of this government from the south especially Igbos like Chris Igige, Okorocha etc should hide their face in shame. 2019 is by the corner, let's see how they will come & face us again. FamilyRe: It's Going To 5years I Got Married And I Still Dont Feel Close To My Husband by july66: 10:39am On Aug 08, 2016
Babztemmy:
I have being married for 5years and sadly I still dont feel so close to my husband. I got the bible says when two come together they become one. That is that become friends, right? But sadly it doesn't feel like it. My hubby is the kind that likes FULL time respect; greet me when you wake up in the morning, great me when I come back from work, (yes wives please greet your hubbys oo) am heading somewhere with this please dont judge me yet, don't go out without telling me, don't put your hands in my pocket, what are you looking for, don't talk .

While am talking (that is even understandable tho) many more I can't mention. Don't tap me on my shoulders if you want to talk to me, don't, don't, don't.

He also isn't romantic, he hates me been romantic around him, it gets him upset. Its been 4years plus and we still argue ALOT. I thought they said the first 3years is the time of misunderstandings but its 4years now and still nothing has really changed.

Sometimes i try to make him talk maybe am not doing something right, and he just always seems to find a fault. Either I don't have respect or I don't have respect or I don't obey him everything calls to respect. Well it's not like I don't respect him or I just wake up in the morning and start disrespecting him. No, it's always in the cause of an argument so while am trying to justify myself or win the case, the disrespect sorts of crops it's way in, but fews hours later you will see me back all over him, trying to make peace but by then I have lost all my worth. He is way closer to his mum and sister than even to me. He prefers to Share all his secrets with them than with me.

Last two weeks was like the saddest day of my life in this marriage journey. He bought a car for his mum, he didn't tell me, the car slept in the house over night I didn't know, on my way back from my outing I saw my hubby in a new car driving down with his mum, In amazement I came down to ask whose car it was and how come I was kept in the dark, then his mum said "it's my car didn't you know?" I felt like a stranger all over again. I called his mum on the phone few mins after I left the embarrasing scene to ask why her son didn't share the good news to me knowing fully well i'm not against him buying her a car. And she said my husband said i didn't greet my hubby the night before and also that morning. Yes I remeber not greeting him the night before cause we had little issue and i just thought to do small shakara, then my not greeting him that morning wasn't intentional, I even apologised immediately my husband cautioned me and I thought we were fine. But I guess we weren't. This is where friendship comes in marriage. No matter what your partner does( as long as it's not adultery or some other serious things I know some women can do.) I feel you should still be able to still give her the respect due. Abihuh I really wish out vind could grow stronger, it's bin 4years and my hubby doenst know my dress size, or shoe size or favorite artist or favourite food, my choice of music, my choice of anything, he hardly laughs at my joke, I can't tickle him or throw a pillow at him he will term it as lack of repect, I can't call him "ode"while joking he will say am rude, It's plenty ooo. I thought marriage was more you both becoming friends. Don't you think life is too short to be rigid ALL the time. My husband is very rigid it scares me alot if I would be able to go on for long.. I love him very much than anything in the world but he doesn't feel that way or that much for me. Not like he doesn't love me. But I think I love him more. So we are probably not on the same page. i want to be the one he can run to anyday anytime, share his secrets with, want to be the one that has the power to put the best smile on his face, but each time i try, i fail. WHY?? Is there still hope.

Anyone in the house who has testimonies of marriage getting better after 4years. Cause i feel if you fail the first 3years you may never get it right. Mhen ladies you got to get it RIGHT from the beginning to avoid stories..
your story too long. You are not his wife but his tool. Tools don't complain, they are used by their handlers.

EducationRe: Ministry Of Education Denied Harmonising HND And university Degrees by july66: 2:37pm On Aug 06, 2016
Elose11:
The Ministry of Education has denied harmonizing the degrees and higher national diploma awarded by universities and polytechnics.
A spokesperson for the ministry denied recent reports that the dichotomy between Bachelors and HNDs had been abolished, saying HND holders must meet new requirements to attain the Bachelors level.
Speaking to PREMIUM TIMES on Friday, Benjamin Goong, said the ministry lacked the power to end the inequality.
He however said the government had taken steps to bridge the gap to ensure HND holders are treated fairly when seeking for jobs.
“Two weeks ago, the ministry sent a memo to the National Council of Establishments (NCE) to institute a bridging program for the HND holders and the proposal was approved.
“The bridging program is for HND holders who can either attend the National Teachers Institute (NTI) or any institution offering post-graduate diploma programs, before they can attain the level graduates can attain in the public sector.
“As per the approved memo, after the bridging program, HND holders will now be offered jobs from grade level 8 and finish at grade level 17 like graduates. Before now, HND holders were only allowed grade level 7 and finish at grade level 14.
“That is as far as it goes for now regarding the B.Sc and HND dichotomy. Both are still very different from each other,” he said.

An education analyst, Dorothy Oseni, said creation of jobs for both B.Sc and HND holders was the surest way of bridging the gap between both classes of educated people.
“When the government, industries and companies no longer discriminate against HND holders in the labour market, the dichotomy will die a natural death,” she said

Do not bring this issue again to this forum. B.Sc & HND are different programs just as HND & OND are different programs. QED.
PoliticsRe: I Never Discredited Ize-Iyamu, Produce video evidence of your visit - Onojie by july66: 12:03pm On Aug 06, 2016

THE Traditional ruler of Uromi in Esan North East Local Government, His Royal Highness, Anslem Okojie, Onojie of Uromi, on Friday, refuted claims attributed him in the media, to have declared distrust in the Edo State governorship aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, due to the party's track record of under development in Esan community and other alleged claims.

This was even as he challenged the All Progressives Congress, APC, and a national daily (not Vanguard) to present evidence of such statement or risk charges for misrepresentation of character.

In a statement made available to Vanguard, by its National Secretary, Chief Oza Francis, the monarch said: "Let it be noted that the Onojie of Uromi had never said the following during the visit of Governor Adams Oshiomole and his entourage to the Palace.
"That he does not trust Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu to be the Governor of Edo State, but rather, Ize I yamu was welcome to his palace 30 times a day if he wants because they are personal friends.

"That Chief Tony Anenih cannot control him, Chief Tony Anenih is an illustrious son of Esan land and Uromi in particular, and we are so proud of him.

"That the PDP had made many unfulfilled promises in Esan land, HRH did not even make any reference to PDP during his speech."

However, highlights of what the Onojie said to the Governor and his entourage were, "that the Governor and his entourage breached Protocol by going to the Campaign Venue first before coming to the Palace, and that he respects protocol when he is in Government House, and as such he expected them to do the same in Uromi.

The statement noted that "Also, the explanation of the N6 million was as a result of the falsehood being spread by the Onojie of Opojie, that he was not part of the endorsement of Pastor Ize Iyamu by the Enijies in Esan land."

He added that the 29 Enijie's including the Onojie of Opoji unanimously endorsed the candidacy of Ize Iyamu, and they still stand by that decision.

Adding, "Moreso, the Onojie thanked Oshiomole for the two Road Projects done in Uromi and the Town Hall he built for the Efandion Community. The Onojie therefore challenged the APC and the national daily to as a matter of urgency produce the video evidence of their visit to the palace on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, in order to clear the air on what actually transpired during the visit and set the records straight for posterity sake."

as corruption is evil, that is how lies is evil. So both PDP & APC are evil.

A King that squeals on his subject is not worthy to be a king. If indeed the Onojie of Uromi says these, then shame on him. Where has the non partisan nature of the traditional ruler of a kingdom gone to. Why are our kings selling there royalty to politicians for a pot of portage? If Anenih and Ize- Iyamu gave you N6m, I wonder how much Oshomhole and Obaseki gave you. It must be very large for you to open your mouth so wide that it smells to high heaven.
Money answereth all things. A lot of it up turned a traditional institution. Shame on Ojuromu!
end time traditional rulers. You can see they were bargaining with both parties. He agreed that they requested for more money from PDP because the cola they brought was too small. They prefer to stay with the govt party that gave them jeep in the past. It is simply a case of cash & carry. These kings are not worthy to be on the throne because they are politicians.

What happened to General "2 houses" Buratai?
Has he resigned yet?
He belongs so he is a saint. If he was a PDP chieftain, EFCC, ICPC & DSS would have competed on who to arrest him first. I think the headship of these bodies should be recommended by the chief Justice of Nigeria because tendency is for them to strive to please their employer.
PoliticsRe: Fayose, Mimiko Better Than Ambode –PDP by july66: 8:41am On Aug 06, 2016
kahal29:
The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has faulted a poll by the African Leadership Magazine which rated Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as the best performing governor in the country.

The Lagos PDP said the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and his Ondo State counterpart, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, had performed better than Ambode.

The opposition party’s reaction was against the backdrop of the rating titled, “Good governance poll for Nigeria’s top performing governors.”

The PDP said the magazine’s poll was allegedly sponsored by the state government with the aim of misleading the public.

While analysing the rating, the Publicity Secretary of the Lagos PDP, Gani Taofik, in an interview with our correspondent, on Thursday, described the rating as laughable.

He added that it was far from the current realities in the state.

“Can Governor Akinwunmi Ambode walk on the streets and receive the same kind of support that Governor Fayose gets in Ekiti? Ambode’s elitist style cannot be compared to that of Mimiko and Fayose, who are governors that the common man recognises and relates easily with.

“Ambode cannot match the popularity and acceptability that both Mimiko and Fayose command in Ondo and Ekiti states respectively. Fayose and Mimiko are far better than Ambode,” Taofik said.

Reacting to the PDP’s claim on Thursday, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Joe Igbokwe, however, described the PDP’s statement as mischievous and laughable.

Igbokwe said nothing good could come out of the former ruling party.

In a text message sent to our correspondent, Igbokwe said, “The Lagos PDP will not acknowledge the monumental achievements recorded in the last 14 months by the Ambode administration, which are being appreciated by all and sundry.

“Nothing good can come from the Lagos PDP or the national leadership of the party. They are the same. The only thing they know how to do is to scheme to get to power and use their positions to steal everything in sight. See where they left Nigeria in 16 years.”

Taofik asked the governor and the magazine to defend the government’s policies in the housing, agric, transportation sectors, among others.

Are you deliberately ignoring the fact that those curses are residing in APC via those that joined from PDP ? As a matter of fact, majority of the key actors of the mismanagement are noe with APC. OBJ 8 years as President, ATIKU 8 years as VP, Tambuwal former speaker, Aminu Masari former speaker,Nnamani former Senate president, Elrufai for FCT minister and former BPE chairman, Amaechi etc. If not these people, who else mismanaged the economy and the country. Actually the culprits have all left PDP to APC so, PDP now is cleaner than even PDP.
The former PDP members you listed are no longer under the curse because they have joined the party of saints. Their sins are forgiven & old things have become new.
