For your information, this & a few others are the voices of opposition since Olisah Metuh was silenced by the forces of repression. Oliser isn't more corrupt than a Tinubu, Amaechi & others working the streets as free men. Most of the people being convicted on the pages of newspaper before facing trial claimed they didn't know the money was for arms just the same way Buhari got his jeeps from Dasuki. If they eventually end up in jail then Buhari will have questions to answer at the end of his tenure. I know the way government works in Nigeria. The tons of money which was flown to Port harcourt for the Rivers governorship election as we saw on the media came from somewhere. You can fool some people always but you can not fool everybody all the time.

PoliticsRe: PDP Governors Planned To Impose Agbaje As Chairman – Dokpesi by july66: 2:45pm On Aug 21, 2016
kahal29:
A national chairmanship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Raymond Dokpesi, has disclosed that the court order received by the embattled former National Chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, frustrated the anointed candidate of the governors elected on the platform of the party, Jimi Agbaje, to emerge as national chairman.

Dokpesi said the postponement of the convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State was “a blessing in disguise”.

In a statement by Omor Bazuaye, the spokesperson of the Raymond Dokpesi Campaign, Dokpesi said shifting the convention in Port Harcourt following the closure of the convention ground by soldiers and police affords members a rare opportunity to resolve the leadership crisis in the party. ‎

He said the shift in date also assisted in no small measure to prevent a situation that could have further complicated the crisis with the kind of factionalisation that could have happened if the convention had gone ahead as scheduled.

Dokpesi, who had taken a tour of the country canvassing for support and votes of delegates, said he arrived Port Harcourt only to be told that PDP Governors had anointed Agbaje, the former PDP governorship candidate of the party in Lagos State, for the position.

To effect their plot, he said the Governors went on to lobby delegates from the North, asking them to obey the “micro zoning” arrangement, which was unilaterally decided by them.

Dokpesi disclosed that fortunately, delegates from the North refused to be a part of the scheme and that when the message was brought to them, they insisted it was “Raymond Dokpesi”, who had gone round the country that they wanted to vote for.

Dokpesi said going round the country, he had establish a special bond with the people, a bond he claimed made it absolutely impossible for their conscience to be bought at the last minute.

The statement said: “When they brought the message to anoint Agbaje to the people, everybody started screaming that it was Raymond Dokpesi they want to vote for and so the Northern elders order them to go to the field.”

He added that while the Northern delegates had made up their minds to defile the governors, it was not so convenient for delegates from PDP-controlled states to go against the wishes of their governors who were hell bent to install the next Chairman.

For Dokpesi, Sheriff’s court order was a saving grace from the "MASSIVE RIGGING" that had been perfectly worked out.

Dokpesi however called on all aggrieved members to use the respite created by the shift in date to resolve the crisis, asking them to sheath their swords and come down from their high horses.

“If you listen to Ali Modu Sheriff and the governors, you’ll clearly see the ego at play,” he said.

Dokpesi said what is happening in the party is not a PDP problem but a clear case of Sheriff and a few PDP Governors in a battle for supremacy.

Dokpesi revealed that as a founding member of the PDP, he has been involved in a number of backdoor discussions aimed at resolving the crisis within the party.

He said he swallowed his pride to approach Sheriff on the matter, pointing out that once he had spoken with the former Governor of Borno State, he doesn’t believe Sheriff means bad for the PDP.

Dokpesi denies being a stooge or fronting for anyone.

On the issue of his case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged involvement with a well publicized N2.3 billion proceeds of money meant for the procurement of arms from the office of ex-National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and the credibility issue that could come with it, Dokpesi is optimistic he would have his day in court.

PoliticsRe: It Is Too Early To Judge Buhari’s Performance- Bakare by july66: 10:13am On Aug 21, 2016
henryanna36:
It is too early to judge Buhari’s performance- Bakare:

General Overseer Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare on Friday said it was too soon to judge the performance of President Muhammadu Buhari as change takes time.

Bakare who was Buhari’s running mate during the 2011 Presidential Election under the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), spoke to reporters at the Presidential Villa, after meeting with the President for about an hour.

“It is too early and to soon to begin to judge. If there is anything I know about Mr. President, it is that he has a good heart. He loves this country and he wants the country to run well. But it takes time. I know we are all impatient and in a hurry and I trust we will come out of the woods”

“I will like to appeal to all Nigerians that we should just exercise a bit of patience. This change will not become a chain that will tie all of us down. Change for good takes time and we should just exercise a little bit more of patience. We trust that government is listening and the leaders are listening too and they will respond to the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians,” the cleric said when asked to rate the performance of the All Progressive Congress (APC) led government.

On the delay in delivering the change promised Nigerians, Bakare said, “When you are driving on a wrong direction, for example, you are going to Ibadan and you face Badagry and you get to Cotonu and you realize you have gone in the wrong direction for too long a time, then you make a U-turn, there will be some suffering you have to go through.

Pain is part of gain. No pain no gain. The years of wastage and all that we have done wrong has finally caught up with us. All we are praying for is wisdom for this government to do things right and to do the right things so that gradually, we can begin to come out of the woods”.

Asked if he supported the call to overhaul the President’s cabinet, he said, “That’s your opinion, not mine. And it is Mr. President’s. He can do what he likes when he likes it. He knows what he has given them. For example, I have not given any appointment to anyone so I can’t judge their performance. But if there are yardsticks and standards given to them and if they have performed below par, definitely, the president would not mind at the right time to do those things”.

The President also met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, shortly before his meeting with Bakare.

The Speaker was accompanied to the Villa by some lawmakers from the National Assembly including Senator Suleiman Nazif (Bauchi). Dogara who refused to answer questions posed by reporters maintained that he had only come to meet with the President.

Source: http://www.trezzyblog.com/2016/08/it-is-too-early-to-judge-buharis.html
It must be early Mr Bakare. If it was PDP, you will not wait for 3 months before you shout pull him down for incompetence. Most times the comment of people like you are crowded by partisanship. This is rather unfortunate, MOG.
PoliticsRe: Budget Padding: Dogara, Others Must Face Panel – Police by july66: 9:57am On Aug 21, 2016

•Grills Gabajabiamila for over one hour
•NASS Clerk has one-week deadline to submit draft and final copies HE Police are on course to interact with Speaker Yakubu Dogara of the House of Representatives on the alleged padding of the 2016 budget after resumption of the National Assembly from its current recess, The Nation can now reveal. Also lined up for the proposed interaction are Deputy Speaker Yusuff Lasun, Chief Whip Ado Doguwa, and Minority Leader Leo Ogor. Saddled with the assignment is the Police Special Investigative Panel which, according to sources has had a session with House Leader Femi Gbajabiamila.

Gbajabiamila who had been out of the country said on Friday that he was offering himself to the law enforcement agencies for probe over the budget padding allegation.

Although his name has not featured among those listed by the sacked chairman of the House Committee of Appropriation, Abdulmumini Jibrin, who spilled the beans, sources said the police panel had a “comprehensive session with the House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila on Friday for over one hour.”

The panel has asked the Clerk to the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani Omolori, to submit the draft and final copies of the 2016 Budget to it within one week.

A highly placed source familiar with the development said: “We are going to interrogate the Speaker and the three principal officers implicated in the main petition of the erstwhile Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Abdulmumin Jibrin. “Once they return from recess, we will ask them to report. Already, a letter of invitation has been served on them. It is still subsisting.

“The initial argument is that the Speaker is the nation’s number four citizen and the modalities of summoning him ought to be different. But we have checked the statute books, neither Dogara nor any of the principal officers has immunity from investigation and prosecution.

“We have not foreclosed investigation into the alleged budget padding. Whoever is talking of any other solution than this ongoing probe might be referring to another platform.”

The source said the commitment attached to the investigation accounts for non-reopening of the office of the Appropriation Committee in the House which was locked following the budget padding allegations and the counter allegations.

“Until we have conducted substantial investigation, the office will still be firmly locked by security agencies. That is a strong room of exhibits,” the source said.

Asked of the extent of investigation, the source added: “We have got sufficient documents for preliminary investigation which is already in progress. “The Clerk of the National Assembly has up till next week to submit the draft and final copies of the 2016 Budget to the panel.

“All we need now is to interact with the four principal officers immediately they return from recess. If they fail to report, the law has a provision for taking card of such.” The source confirmed that 10 chairmen of committees in the House will take their turn after the four principal officers.”

On the appearance of House Leader Gbajabiamila before the SIP, the source said: “Although Jibrin did not mention his name in his petition and addendum, he had audience with us on Friday for over one hour. “It was a comprehensive session which provided more insights into the workings of the House. We hope other leaders in the chamber will emulate him. “Gbajabiamila came in voluntarily and we took his statement, which is a loaded document on oath.”

Dogara said last week that he was not above the law following the barrage of criticisms that followed his initial statement that no one could probe what he does on the floor of the House as a member and Speaker. He denied reports that suggested that he could not be investigated or prosecuted over the scandal. He also said reports credited to him as saying padding was no offence under the law were untrue. He said his comments on the alleged budget padding were a misrepresentation with and Nigerians now seeing him as insensitive to their feelings.

His Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan said: “while responding to questions at the Civil Society Dialogue at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja on Thursday 12th August, Dogara made reference to Sections 3, 24 and 30 of the Legislative Houses ( Powers and Privileges ) Act to buttress the point that the legislature while carrying out its constitutional responsibilities is protected by law.

“He did not say or mean that he is above the laws of the land or that he is shielded by the law or has immunity for any infractions of the law. “This clear restatement of the law has been twisted by sections of the media to mean that neither security agencies nor the courts could investigate or prosecute or try him! “This is most uncharitable and a deliberate and calculated attempt to pitch the Speaker against the Nigerian public and paint him as lawless.

“As an Officer in the Temple of Justice, Dogara not only owes unalloyed allegiance to the Judiciary but also to the institutions of law enforcement. He indeed swore to an Oath of allegiance to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “Dogara should not be portrayed as insensitive or arrogant as this is contrary to his true nature of humility and humaneness that has endeared him to his colleagues and Nigerians.”

If we are looking for a national chairman then everyone must have input. The yoruba alone can not nominate a person for national chairman & expect all to accept him even if other zones have reservations about him.

Since this same Abang is the one who gave judgement in favour of Sherrif, it looks like every one who wants to manipulate the judicial system runs to Abang's court. Justice Abang is either empty or he is a politician & a judge at the same time. The way he handed Gov. Ikpeazu's case & the Sherrif judgements is quite unfortunate. Between him & the judge of FHC Portharcourt who both gave conflicting judgements, it is clear that Abang is not interpreting the law properly. If the appeal court says he has turned the law upside down by expecting the accused to prove his case instead of the petitioner doing so, I think Abang is a risk on the bench. His appointment as a judge needs to be investigated because politics rather than qualification may have played a major role in his appointment.

Una think say we be mumu for this country. Obafemi Awolowo said it is very to easy to rule educated people but very difficult to manipulate them because they know when you want to play on their intelligence. Another election is around the corner make una carry una dirty mouth come convince enlightened people. We have 3 arms of government in Nigeria all headed by northerners. No federal character but when it is time to admit students to universities they will remember that there is educationally disadvantaged states & remember quota system.

The truth of the matter is that Sherrif is behaving foolishly & he is a spoiler. I see him as a chairman without portfolio because all state chapters of pdp are loyal to the Makarfi faction. I think they should just ignore them & his diversionary antics. The pdp governors were with him few days ago & they made him feel important. He is the stubborn breed. I think it is high time pdp goes to the appeal court to finally silence Abang.
