PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Laments Exclusion Of Nigeria From G20 Meeting In London by JustGood(m): 12:02pm On Apr 06, 2009
Isn't it obvious?

We are all culpable!

From the inert president to his theiving ministers to the looting legislators to the inept and stealing governors, local government chairmen, councilors. . .

down to the ordinary Nigerian citizens who think nothing of accepting bribes to do their jobs or offering bribes to have illegitimacy legitimized. . .

down to the citizens who'd rather bribe the police than drive on the right side of the road, to the policeman who will turn a blind eye to any evil as long as he has been well compensated (egunje), to the man who willfully damages public property. . .

further down to the many Nigerians in America and Europe whose stock in trade is fraud and scams. . . AND some others who dont necessarily engage in such practices but encourage such tacitly and are never ready to condemn such practices. . .

we are all responsible for Nigeria's current state

long list bro. We are need to examine ourselves.

Remeber oyibos can handle drink, they are used to it and it is acceptable in our culture. We still do what we have to do at home etc etc. i would like to know how you define worship b'cos there is one or two ladies I know who dont drink and smoke at all and their husbands go out and cheat around.

Dereloaded, So youre saying any woman, Nigerian or not, if they drink and smoke they can never be respected?
So what exactly is it that makes a woman respected?
How can a nigerian man expect his western/American/carribean wife to be a tee totaler?

So the only way you can be respected is if you are a TThuh
Who determines who can handle drinks? Did you not break TV and almost had HBP as a result?
We worship our women because no matter what happens we know we can rely on them as our partners at home. We can trust them to a larger extent than we will trust your type. A woman who gets drunk can be taken advantage of (even a man). I have always respected a woman's upbringing; the way she carries herself, the way she talks in public (lady-like) etc

How about black guys and asians? My aunt got married to a Jamaican for 20+ years and their still together? and my friend is married to a Nigerian and she is a malaysian and both migrated to Dubai and they have 2 boys and 2 girls and they are married for 8 years and still together.

White. Uhm. . . Am not sure if Ive seen one that is stil going strong but yeah. . . What is your opinion about blacks getting married to yellow's?
If you mean Asians, they generally dont go generally for black people but I believe (not sure) that they value family life the same way many Nigerians do.
Its different from the European/American thing where marriage is only about convenient and they dissolve the union as soon as they sense any inconvenience - has its advantages and disadvantages.

PoliticsRe: Brain Drain In Nigeria, Who Is To Blame? by JustGood(m): 1:46pm On Apr 01, 2009
@ kobo, Good talk

The main problem however is the fact of the existence of poverty and insecurity of means of sustenance - many people dont get the basics of life easily. If people are unsure of getting life's basics, they'll be too devoted to getting life's basics and so will not progress beyond that level to start thinking bigger and thinking of great achievements.

If the government finds a way of distributing wealth such that most people dont have to think about what to eat the next day, lots of people will become achievers.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Abroad Our Worst Enemy-dora Akunyili by JustGood(m): 1:42pm On Apr 01, 2009
I think the woman made a lot of sense in that interview (the part that I read).

However, we need government to also start showing the way in terms of how we want the rest of the world to percieve us. We need government officials to stop showing such greed and start thinking more about leaving legacies than they think about their pockets.

Its nothing new. Everything about you is known by the authorities anyway.

It human beings who work in the offices where your data is kept. I was actually thinking about our democracy a few days ago and I realised that we have no freedom with our democracy. The democracy is just about going to vote once in 4 years.

The guys come and tell you when/how to drink, when/how to discipline your child, etc. No one has a right to be initiative again. . . it's what keeps our western society in order but we dont really have any more freedom than those in other parts of the world. lipsrsealed

Its because they'd rather behave themselves respectably, which is why we love and worship (literally) them.

That's one of the reasons those men leave people like you and return to base
Justgood,

don't blame foreign women. Blame our brothers who marry for jetting out. maybe brother managed to leave nig to malaysia and hit on Australian lady he met. it is not her fault. this guy should just do the right thing, get his wife a ring, do family intro and announce the marriage to families and friends. how hard is that?
Hauwa, is it by force? Maybe the guy is not particularly interested. The way men(especially Naija men) think is different from the way women think and its a dog eat dog world so the man is probably trying to get what he can get if he can do it with minimal effort.
FamilyRe: Should I Still Play The Foolish Woman? by JustGood(m): 3:23pm On Mar 31, 2009
Even the girls who meet the guy's family end up being dumped after some years not to mention this one wey no even sabi where the guy from drop.

I've travelled around Europe quite extensively and I can attest that Nigerian male/white female relationships are statistically doomed from the start. You can call it what you want and find any escuses you like, maybe becos you are currently infatuated, it still doesn't remove the fact.

They always start and think that the whole world is a funground for them till after the marriage and things kick in.

These things dont work!

I know a married guy who flirted with a girl in Russia but he never met the girl. We told him to stop it and he said he was in control and just playing around. He never met the girl.

maybe the guy is just flirting with the girl. . . but its a dangerous path to go
FamilyRe: Men Not Wanting To Get Married by JustGood(m): 3:14pm On Mar 31, 2009
Blatant:
Marriage is a good thing and almost every 'normal' human being desires it. Nothing wrong in wanting to get married and nothing wrong in taking relationships seriously.

What is wrong is when you jump from one relationship to another allowing your body to be played with by several men in the name of having fun. Which man do you think will be happy to have you when you have essentially become a left-over' of several different men?

No man likes remnants
ha ha ha
FamilyRe: Men Not Wanting To Get Married by JustGood(m): 3:13pm On Mar 31, 2009
The girl's pushiness might be another reason why the guy is hesitant.

If a guy says he's not ready for marriage and you think you want to get married, move on and find someone on your thought level

Your husband was unfaithful and he did not tell you about the other child; Perhaps because he did not want to lose you.

Na serious matter. I have no experience of this kind of thing and never met anyone in this situation. Make I think small. . .

As a follow up, I spoke to the man's wife in Nigeria. She informed me that she has been married to the man for the past six years. She stated that they were married through a traditional wedding in Nigeria.
I guess that is why he did not want to marry me, because he is already married. huh

But I am not sure why he has not brought his wife to the states.
Revelation!!!

You are lucky you've not gone too far yet. Some will not be so lucky and they will jump in the name of their infatuation which they call love.

Christianity EtcRe: I Am Suing Pastor Chris Oyakhilome For N200 Million by JustGood(m): 3:53pm On Mar 30, 2009
This is possible because some people get over-zealous.

I would just expect Pastor Chris to openly apologize to the journalist and call his men to order. . .probably let a few heads roll to show that he wont tolerate such acts.

I bet that will make everyone know that Pastor Chris is not complicit and it will go a long way in exonarating him
