There are more unarranged marriages ending up in divorce and bitterness than there are for arranged marriages.

How do you know that anyone is unhappy and that their marriages are loveless and robotic? Do you equate your own standard of love with everyone else's? The fact that some people dont express themselves in the same manner you do does not make them less happy.

seriously, its a cultural thing and sometimes, laziness. I have friends in Nigeria who help out with such when they are home. I didn't like doing it because I was lazy and felt clumsy at it but I helped out with other things

Foreign women always do these things believing that their love will see them through anything and then after marriage, they realise that they cant really stand the rubbish. It's done all over Europe everytime.

Its the selfishness of the modern western generation that makes them want to always take their parents into homes so that they can enjoy themselves. How they leave their parents in homes because they want to enjoy is beyond me. It's all about selfishness.

To know all of them is quiet difficult because of the distance. Don't you think there are a lot of pobbilities to hide his Igbo-wife even if I would visit Naija? Maybe he would introduce her to me as his "sister" or "cousin". I'm not this kind of woman who's suspecting every human being.

Talking about things is different from what the reality often turns out to be. Even where men are not in search of anything, they can still pretend to be what they are not, so what do you expect when you know next to nothing about a man except what he tells you? Even after getting married, you were not interested in him enough to want to visit his parents and relatives?
