Can you please highlight any US laws he has broken? It's not today the US have been holding innocent people like criminals.

I read the post i quoted very well....how do you know that the allegation were cooked up? Any evidence? If he hasn't broken any US law why then is he afraid that he will be extradited there? Why would Sweden send him to US if he is innocent?

If your purpose of going to the UK is to collect the certificate then i don't think you will be given a visa because the school can post that certificate to you in Nigeria.That is not good enough reason to travel to the UK.

He broke no US law and they are still going after him- all these small claims are excuses for nothing. The crux of the matter is if he committed these crimes he should be able to face them without fear of facing a potentially unjust government bent on punishing him for his works. queensmith: Is it not obvious, they make such an effort to arrest someone on charges with little basis, the Swedish government themselves changing their own story a number of times. The agenda isn't subtle at all, he has been very open about fearing extradition to the US when he turned himself in to face these particular charges.
The Swedes are cooperating with the US government and if he leaves he doesn't stand a chance.

I don't blame him at all.

If he claimed to be innocent then why has he being running away from justices for more than 2yrs now? He made a name as a human right campaigner and now its the time to practice what he preaches.

As for the US, if he has broken any US law then they have the right to go after him.

premp: I am in UK since 3 years doing my course that ends next year (so its a 4 year course), but my visa expires soon on 18th October, 2012. I will soon be applying for an extension for 1 year for a Tier 4 student visa. Now, i have all the documents ready with me, i have £1800 in my account (to show for living costs and the rest for two months) and to leave them for 28 days in the account the date will be 18th September, 2012, that's when i plan to submit my application. I still haven't paid the £8400 fee to my university, but i will mention this in my application where they ask how much fee i have to pay(£8400) and how much have i already paid(£0).

My question is, do i have to show £8400 fee in my account's bank statement for 28 days as well or can i get away without showing that amount and show just the living expenses(£1800).

You need to show that you have paid the school fees or that you have the school fees in your account.

You can't work, study or do business legally with visiting visa.

You could be under 10yrs ban already for using Cameroonian passport to apply for visa three yrs ago.

I am in the UK and my husband is in Nigeria. We have been separated for over three months now and he has been in Nigeria since June last year. He applied for the settlement visa soon after we married last year in August (today is our one year anniversary). His application was refused and we paid £140 to appeal. To cut a long story short, I went out there to visit him in May while we were appealing and I went to the UKBA offices to speak to someone, and drop the itemised phone bills to them. No one wanted to speak to me. it wasn't till June 25th they called him to submit his passport. We then received a letter16th July from the tribunal via our solicitor that the decision has been withdrawn. This is great news, but, it has now been two months since my husband submitted his passport and they keep messing us about telling us it's not ready and they are doing their checks. I email them also and they say the same thing. What I want to know is - how long is this supposed to take?? And what type of checks are they doing?? I miss my husband very much and pray we will reunited soon.

If anyone knows I would be eternally grateful

Appeal process do take time, after winning the appeal it takes between 2-4 months before you get your hands on that visa

You got nothing to worry about,the deposit will not affect the 28days count. Use the oanda conversion of the day you print out the bank statement.

secondly, is it possible for her to book the BB without payment or do i have to send her money to make payment? if i do send her money, should i include evidence of transfer and state that my sister paid for the accommodation on my behalf?

There is nothing wrong with stating that you have a sister, if you are asked for her address then give it but you will not be asked to send the data age of her passport since she is not inviting or sponsoring your trip.

Some B&Bs allows reservation without payment, she needs to find out about their reservation policies. you don't have to include evidence of transfer, all you need to show is the evidence of reservation.

You are allowed to use loan money to finance your studies, you can move it to your personal saving account and leave it there for 28days before printing out the bank statement and apply for visa

Wait for your time, if you have invested that 800k in a business you would have been in a better financial position in a year or two, just like some people have said, the agent can only get you 10yrs ban because he is going to sort-out forged/fake documents for you and if by any chance the ECO did not notice it you still have wasted your money getting a visa that will not allow you to work, study or do business in the UK.

I came across this website , while researching on Nigeria and UK travel requirement. I am planning to apply for uk visa by the end of this month but have some confusion in filling the form.

this is the case with me, i have enough funds to sponsor my trip,so i am applying as a general tourist. i have a sister who finished her masters in uk and her visa will expire this year.she stays in a shared apartment and said there is extra room that i can pay for and she can talk to her land lady instead of me paying for hotel.

I do not want it to look like a family visit because from the requirements of a family visit, the person you are visiting must have permanent residence in uk.

these are my questions.

1)should i pay for accommodation away from where she is stay?

2) if i state that i will be staying in the same address with her, even though i will pay for the room, will they see it as family visit?

3)they ask if i know anybody in uk and i have to state that i have a sister and i will visit her during my stay, do i need invitation letter from her even though i am sponsoring myself and she is not the main reason i am coming there?

4)if she talk to her landlady and she accept to give the room for my stay, there will be no receipt of payment, so how will the embassy be sure that the accommodation is available?

5)is it possible to pay for a hotel for 10days, if i get there i can stay 2 days, and ask for refund then move to my sisters accommodation.

the accommodation she is offering is cheaper, but i dont want them to consider it a family visit. please advice me on how to go about it.

If you are sponsoring yourself then you don't need IV from her.

It will be difficult for her landlady to give her any paper evidence that could be submitted in the embassy, let her get you cheap BB(Bed and Breakfast) accommodation close to her. You can pay for 10days if you want.

prisca1: i have filled the appeal form and addressed every issue that was raised in the notice of decision do. where do i send it? is it to the BHC or do i post it directly to the tribunal in uk. am confused i have 7 days to go

The instruction on where to post the form will be on the appeal form or on one of the documents included in that appeal pack, they always make it clear where to send the form.

The best people to advice you is your club, they will know if its possible for them to sign you without you going back to Nigeria.

Though i got the feeling that you will be asked to go back to Nigeria to apply for appropriate visa

Seriously, I don't think the Tier 4 sponsor cares about where your maintenance fee is coming from. Honestly, I have not seen any section on the CAS statement where it is indicated that the prospective student has part or complete funds for his maintenance.

So I personally think the duly signed letter from the State Government would be enough to fulfill the UKBA requirements for maintenance fee.

The school has nothing to do with ur maintenance fees, the embassy does. Letters from the Govt has been forged many times so the embassy view any document from the Govt with suspicion

Mr Charles,I don't think it will cost your bro anything to contact his school and inform them about the Govt grants,so that it will REFLECT on his CAS and that will make him have an easy day with the ECO and substantiate his claim of d grant in the first place.Truth be told,those ECO guys Validates any information coming from their Schools even than our Govt because of fake document experiences.

So bro,an email to d school will just do it for you

The prob here is that the op has paid the fees already, its up to him to imform the school about the change in his sponsorship and to have it official, but if some people claimed to have done it without imforming the school and having it stated in the CAS then fine, I can only tell you what I know and what has worked for many I know. Done with this, wish the Op the best outcome.

rateade: Hi Charles et al. i ve been following ur discussion…(debate). I Think Charles is right and i'd like to make a contribution. what i think the problem is dat we re all just focusing on number 172 only, which i believe is causing the confusion, the thing is- u have to read 172 and 173.

172.. simply refers to sponsorship from your school "Tier 4 sponsor" only, while 173 clearly starts with "In all other circumstances" meaning for all other forms of sponsorship (Home Government, international organizations, international companies etc), a letter of confirmation is what is required.

and besides if Justwise's point were to be true (i.e the govt sponsorship should reflect on the CAS) and this can be achieved by calling our tier 4 sponsor……. and 172 which states that "NO FURTHER DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED TO SHOW THIS OFFICIAL FINANCIAL SPONSORSHIP"…….its going to mean the followin Scenario will be possible (which is not):-

I can easily just call my Tier 4 sponsor that I have gotten a govt. sponsorship

Tier 4 Sponsor updates my CAS

And based on the statement in 172- "NO FURTHER DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED TO SHOW THIS OFFICIAL FINANCIAL SPONSORSHIP"

I easily fraudulently bypass showing documents(to show funds) to UKBA and secure a VISA without a single penny in my account. since its in my CAS that i ve sponsorship.

I think you are missing the point, if this is about ur school fees you will not just call the school and claimed to have Govt sponsorship and they believe you and put it in ur CAS, no chance...you will be asked to email the sponsorship letter and pay for the fees befor you will be given a CAS. The debate we are having here is different because the OP has paid all the fees already only need to show maintenance fees. This is his own up keep money, if he decide to travel without it then... He will a story to tell.

How many scholarships are we talking about here?

The issue is this 'that they are giving'. That statement seems to suggest that it is the Tier 4 sponsor giving the scholarship. it personalises it.

Assuming it said 'that is given', then that throws it open. The Question is who is giving the the official financial sponsorship that the details of it can be included in the CAS?

They should have said 'that they/or the Government sponsor is giving.
