"I am extremely distraught and upset at the hurt and distress I have caused the victims."

.....Craig Crosbie, defending, said Odulele, the son of a Nigerian civil servant who came to Britain in 1986, has no previous convictions.

Glory House International, based in east London, claims to have a congregation of 3,000 and branches in Leeds, Birmingham and Brazil.

At his height Odulele would preach to 140,000 people at a time in stadia in Africa and the United States, the prosecution said.

Odulele was a major figure in Christian evangelism........

diamond30: hello, am diamond, i want to apply for uk visa this week, am using hotel reservation and i hv like 500 plus in my account, i currently work and do business, and i hv included some of my sales and purchase invoice, i was told to do VIP that it will make it faster, hv also included my leave letter, appointment letter, and confirmation letter, the problem now is my salary is been paid by hand not into my bank, and i dont remit it into the bank, rather reinvest it into my bussiness and i wrote a letter with respect to that. do think i hv a chance? thanks please it urgent and what do u advice

PLEASE NEED ADVICE
What is VIP?

Did you include your tax clearance/certificate? The moment you bring business into visa application you have to include that business documents.

Since your salary is cash-in-hand, you have to take your time to explain that to the ECO.

Olupraise: Good afternoon oga justwise and the whole house,
After following recent post, I realised it is good to schedule an appointment with VFS before going to the visa center.
My question is this, apart from submitting my forms(application form and personal details along with my credentials) at VFS, am I required to also fill the form online as well based on this information below on VFS welcome page

"You will need to complete a visa application form online prior to visiting the Application Centre. To complete the form, please visit www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk. After completing, please include a signed printout in your application pack."

Please I need your response. Thank you all.
Please can people who have gone through this process help here? Thanks

sunnyng: @ Justwise and co. Kindly shed more light on "original air ticket (confirmed and returned).

How do I go about the NDLEA clearance certificate?
You shouldn't have problem with that if you book your return ticket from the airline's website or they office.

I'm not sure about NDLEA certificate, people with knowledge in that area will help.

We are creating this thread for those who have been successfully secured their visas through the help/tips they got from nairaland.

Tell us also what you did differently (Legally) that contributed to your visa application success so that others will learn.

Please! this is not a place for inquiries or complains, this is purely for testimonies and to encourage others.

Thank you.

joy90: Hi all, pls i need ur help, i know i'll get lots of insult but atleast i'll hear the truth and be better.. sometimes last yr i applied for a UK visiting visa. I was still in sch then doing my MASTERS. I got letter from sch, also invitation from a family relative. Then i defaulted and used a fake(forged) dad's account cos i didnt seek his counsel. I was denied on 3 counts and i had full rights of appeal.
1. that no prove of the said dad's fund and not convinced that it will be made available to me (i didnt include work details etc)
2. that my cousin that invited me didnt show proof of accomodation and they are not sure the kind of accomodation that will be available to me
3. that my sch didnt include my graduation date or study period.
This was last yr july, i completed my masters coursework in sept though still on my project till date.
i got a job with one of the govt parastatals in same sept and have since been working with them.
now i want to re-apply this december cos thats when i chose for my leave period. i want to know the documents i'll need and also my chances of getting a visa and also if i wud include a covering letter addressing the issue of my refusal or just go ahead and apply with all my genuine documents.
THANKING YOU ALL IN ADVANCE FOR UR KIND RESPONSE
Vergil: They would have atleast made mention of the genuineness of the statement. Definitely would have. So don't think they noticed. But all in all, if u get refused again, after getting all the docs and enough naira in the account to back it up. Then most likely the ban.
[quote author=Vergil]That is a hint there.

Dapto: @Donxavier & Justwise, what if d Local Govt feels because they can't compete with the Federal and State Govt in term of the budgetary allocation and decides to offer a partial Scholarship cos they feel the course I want to study in d UK will be beneficial to them upon the completion,if I will work with them afterwards.
They should pay that money into your account if they are really interested in sponsoring you. Lets be honest here. . local Govt doesn't even have the money to maintain roads let alone giving a single individual more than 3M to go and study in the UK. If they truly want to sponsor you then i don't see any reason why they shouldn't pay that money into your account.
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(mod): 7:29am On Jul 25, 2012
Donxavier: Shouldn't all tiers of Government qualify as 'Home Government'? Why should the Federal and State qualify, and then the Local is excluded?
Local Govt does not have scholarship program, federal and state does. Local Govt does not have the share of national cake as state Govt, they get their funding from the state Govt, and because of how notoriously corrupt local Govt is, it will be even difficult to verify any document from that level.

I only know of some students from Calabar some yrs back who were sponsored by their state Govt and one Nigerian who is on federal Govt scholarship currently.

Dharkchild: I joined Nairaland today basically because of this thread and i would like to say a big Thank you to Justwise and all who have created time out of their busy schedules to help others, you guys are doing a great job.

Just a piece of advice to most of us, lets take out some time to do a little research by reading most of what has been posted from page one of this thread till now and we would see that most of our questions have already been answered. I filled my visa application form based on the advice i got from this thread while reading all the pages from the first thread till now and i had absolutely no problem with filing it and the documents involved. I submitted today and now waiting to hear from the embassy.

Thanks to all who has contributed to this thread, Cheers
Couldn't have said it any better

Dapto: Have gone thru it already, but it was d State Govt that was mentioned.I just want to know if d Local Govt can equally Sponsor. Thanks
Dapto: Yea Donxavier,I went thru it and saw d requirement, but does presenting the local Govt bank statement part of the condition.Thanx Man.
I really do not think that Local Govt can, State Govt 'might' as Nigeria practices federal system of Govt where state has some power and a huge budget. People i know so far have all being sponsored by federal or State Govt (this is years back) rules has changed since.

If your Local Govt can pay that money into your bank account then good.

Makomen Omonkhomion: People are now saying that U have to print out the CAS statement to take to the embassy? Is it true. And can someone print the CAS statement from his email from Abuja quarters of the embassy
No its not true. All you need there is the CAS number which should be written down in the form. The embassy has your CAS already.

joy90: like seriously lolling.... i wasnt refused under a section that explains when one is banned, i was refused under a section that explains non-satisfactory feeling that i would return
It will only become clear if you are banned or not when you apply again, only then will you know if the fake bank statement was detected or not, unfortunately they did not make it clear in that refusal statement which is sometimes the case.

and as much as Alonso "may" drop on the standing, I doubt he will be very far from the top.
grin grin grin You know for a fact that this season is divided, no driver has that clear lead unlike last 2 seasons Vettels was winning almost all pole-positions and winning the race.

Alonso should enjoy it now but it will not last grin grin grin

How about creating a thread for Testimonies so that anyone who wishes to share a testimony may post it there; and other testimonies that are posted on other threads may be moved to the testimonial thread.
I understand it might be additional task though, so, it's only a suggestion, the decision is yours
Wouldn't be a bad idea.

omar22: As it hurts me to say it, I think Alonso is going to walk away with this title because

REDBULL would have to back one driver and in their heart they would want to back Vettel but RB8 is far from RB7 that suited Vettels driving style that he could fly through corners knowing that EBD would keep the car firmly on the circuit, but the RB8 suites Webber driving style but he finds it hard putting his car on pole position. whenever he has his car on the front row he has a serious chance.

MCLAREN: Signing Sam Michael from Williams seems to be their biggest mistake.
Don't make that call yet, early days, just few points ahead. Alonso hasn't had his bad days in office yet, so fingers crossed.
