Well having contacted the police in the fingerprint department the data protection unit various solicitors and my local MP we finally got somewhere. My MP forwarded this email:


**Thank you for your email of 6 June on behalf of Mr XXXXXXX about his entry clearance and his biometric details.

The Entry Clearance Manager has confirmed that the incorrect report has been linked to Mr XXXXXXX application and quoted in the refusal notice. This error has been rectified and the application will require reconsideration.

The Entry Clearance Officer will contact the applicant today, or as soon as possible, to acknowledge the error and in order for him to present the required documents needed to re-assess the application.**


This letter was dated 13th June and we still have heard nothing, on the 21st June I contacted my MP again still no-one has been in touch they have my husband’s address, email and telephone number can anyone tell me how long it will take?

If we thought it was going to be this long we could have just made a fresh application 2 weeks ago!
Does anyone have Mr Jason Ivory’s email address? Maybe contacting him directly will have more of an effect

Don't be in a hurry, your hubby will be contacted, its summer and a very busy time for visa related issues

My brother , they work on what you've printed out and all they can verify is if that account is an existing account simple...You can use your money anytime you wanna while your application is pending... I repeat ' No bank in this world will disclose anything personal to anyone in this world...If you doubt me then ask your bank manager what the embassy confirms from them.... They simply wont give anybody your balance never and if any bank does that, they have breached the agreement btw them and you.. Cheers..

That is misleading, do not advice people to start withdrawing the money marked for school fees or other expenses while their application is still pending. Yes embassy can catch you up on that, the idea that bank can not disclose your details to the embassy is just not true, you have given all your details to the embassy already so which details are you talking about again?

Withdrawing that money is risky cos you don't know when the embassy will call your bank for verification, its not advisable to touch that money.

You don't need to book an appointment to submit your application, you go there when you are ready to submit.

yes you need both, £13400 is your school fees and £7200 is for your up keep.

The person said they just made changes recently. Because if not because of the changes, i would have just summit a statement of account with just £5400 for outside London.. Yes £7200 is the maintenance money you need to have, £13400 school fees depends on the university, not all charge the same, looking at the fees i guess you looking at Leeds, Bradford, Manchester or Sheffield University

Please when someone ask a question (minus earthgreener askin about GTB card over and Over again), all yu can do is give a reasonable answer and not refer to a website, the person MIGHT be really confused about what he/she knows or the information at hand. He doesn't mean he sat down there Idle waiting for people to get him out of his confused state

'Reasonable' answer without a source could be regarded as 'personal opinion', its sensible to back up answers with verifiable link. There is nothing wrong with directing you to a website where you can read more and do more research for yourself.

However, Some schools advice prospective students to hold more money for other needs which might come up e.g thesis, trips, projects etc and it is assumed that the ukba recommended will not suffice if the student doesn't get a job while studying. So u might need to verify if the 11,000 pounds figure sent to you is a recommended or compulsory requirement.

Student survive on £5400 without job for a year, its ridiculous to ask any foreign student to have £11,000 as maintenance money for school outside London while schools in London is £9000.Average house rent in Bedfordshire where his school is located ranges from £240-£300 [/b]a month including all the bills, 24hrs Internet connection included. Trips are optional, you don't spend much doing project.

If he pays top price rent of [b]£350 including the bills for 12months he will still have £3000 left for feeding without working.

Account building is not a good idea, though the ECO will not ask you to proof the source of your income when it comes to student visa, but you really really need that money when you get to the UK, i can't stress that point enough, you will find it difficult to survive in the UK without all your fees.

I'm not sure about online visa application as i never used one before, people who applied recently will advice you on that.

The same goes with the photo issue, please let those who just applied help with the issue of photo and method of application.

And from the UKBA they require 7200 for outer London and the school is now telling me 11,000 Pounds should I work with what the UKBA has said which is 7200 four outer London? Hope it will not cost me any problem as on my CAS they did not state it there they only state the tuition

Summer time is always a busy time for UK visa, they receive 100s if not thousands of visa applications, the ECO makes the decision whether you should be issued a visa or not. They can verify your application by calling your invitee or your sponsor if there is need for that.

Trying to advice a mate of mine, but I'm not sure of what advice or answer to give him, with regard this. His questions are the (*) (for quick read)

Anyway, we've all asked him, why not marry his gf instead. They've been 2gether, at least 5yrs. Anyway, he says, he doesn't want to risk leaving the country. So, now it seems the gf actually wants this and its become more than a case of sorting his "papers" out.

*Now, after much research, he asks, what could happen to his degree if he applies for a spouse visa in Nige and he uses it to prove he's exempt from the english language requirements? Could it get seized or discredited if he submits it with his app?
I said, he could always use a certified copy. (Am I right here? Think I am).

*Also, he says he has received, P60s in the past, which means he has worked. How? Haven't asked. But, can the home office consult with other govt. bodies to actually find out about this?

Based on research we've done, and based on what he has told us, it seems paragraph 320(11) is the worry here.

Your friend has two choices . . .go back to Nigeria and get married to his gf or live in the UK for 14yrs before applying for a stay.

As for the issue of HomeOffice finding out if he works, of course they can if they want to, that wouldn't be a problem to them. He can waste his money paying a lawyer, after many years of appeals he will beg to be deported.
