missoredipe: Good evening Justwise,
Please I'm trying to apply for a post graduate diploma which will take up to 12 weeks of study in London. I currently have a 2-year visit visa and I saw online that I have to apply for a short term study visa. Could you please advise me on how to go about this or direct me to a thread for short term study visa.
Many thanks Its the same process as visiting visa application but you need to provide evidence of that short course and any document from the school to you regarding the program you are attending. |

My cousin that is inviting me for 2 weeks vacation only send a photocopy of his british passport bio data page and invitation letter indicating that he's going to be responsible for my accommodation and feeding. Though i will be the one responsible for travelling expenses. And there is a place in the form where they ask that who will pay for your expenses such as accommodation and food? And if someone other than yourself is paying for all or any part of the visit ? What should i put there since he didnt send any document apart from d invitation letter and photocopy of his bio data page.
2.Secondly I'm earning 220k monthy and my dispossable income is 170k. With statement of account of 1.4mil
I hope My Budget Breakdown 0f 350,000 is okay Airticket. ........ ..470 pounds Transportation.... 50 pounds Sight seeing....... 70 pounds Shopping......... 100 pounds Feeding..............60 pounds Accommodation.. None.

OvaSabi1: 1. Okay, more than half of my concerns have reduced I guess. 2. No, I wasn't. Everyone I asked told me it's free. It's just that when I converted the costs to naira (found out from non NHIS private hospitals), it was a lot. 3. If the fear of Visa refusal isn't valid, then I am not sure I will need to travel this year again. Because of the following reasons: A. My monthly pay is just N118,000. My budget for the trip will exceed times 3 of the my take home. Even though it is a conference, I am afraid I may face a refusal for financial reasons. B. Whereas, the PhD visa I want to go for in 2020 will be funded by a scholarship if things go accordingly. What do you think justwise? Wait till 2020 or do a trial using the conference? If there are hitches in November, I will know that I may have hitches in 2020. I will then start looking at another country very early. If this conference is not important then i suggest that you save your money and prepare for the PhD application |

“To ensure that the entrance clearance is not delayed, our client paid close to N200,000.00 for VIP visa fees for the four delegates. However, for the past three weeks the Embassy has failed, refused and or neglected to release the said visa/ passport of the four delegates without any information, despite repeated demands made by our client with even a letter of reminder dated 13th November 2018 sent to your office and series of emails sent,” the letter said.

OvaSabi1: Good day justwise and co.
I was in the UK from 2013 to 2017 as a student. I finished my masters and then enrolled in another school for professional exams. My Visa expired 30th April 2017 but I left the UK 15th May because I had an extensive 6 hour surgery on 24th April for a genetic chronic medical condition that I manage. My doctor advised me not to travel for 6 weeks after the surgery, to prevent pulmonary embolism which is fatal blood clotting after a surgery. By 15th May (Visa had already expired here), I felt that I was fit enough to travel even though it was very tough for me as my stitches were still fresh. Before the surgery, I consulted 3 immigration lawyers to confirm if I was indeed covered (as a tier 4 student) by the NHS for the procedure. They said yes. I have all the documents of my diagnosis, surgery, admissions, etc.
My present situation: I am now an assistant lecturer in a Nigerian university and I want to apply for PhD in a UK university by 2020. I recently learnt one of my colleagues was turned back because he overstayed the first time. I am worried about that time I overstayed. I also have this strange feeling that that I owe them money and a bill is waiting for me there. So, I want to apply and go for a conference in November this year to test the validity of my fears (against 2020). The conference is hosted by a globally recognised organisation exactly in the field that I had my masters in.
The summary of questions please:
1. Will I be rejected because I overstayed? 2. Do you think I owe them money? 3. How much should I have in my bank statement for the Visa application for November this year? 4. How soon should I start applying for a Visa for the November conference?
Thank you in advance. 1. I doubt that because you are allowed to overstay for 30days after your visa expired 2. Foreign students don't pay for medical treatment, were you told that that particular operation is not free? 3. You need to do your budget for the trip so as to know how much you need to have in your account 4. Sept. |

dolpaz: No, it wasn't misplaced I wouldn't know people were scammed or IDs were cloned because of my busy schedule. It's holiday period hence the reason why I've been constant here.
Your second paragraph looks confusing though so maybe you could clear that. If you're to doubt people with wrong intent, trust me dolpaz shouldnt be part of them because "A good name is better than riches or gold" and this is a name I have been protecting. If I scam anyone with that name, I swear I'll be caught within seconds cos my moniker is the same as my web, social media and all.
You should either post id of verifiable and trusted people based on different genuine and successful transactions they be done by creating a thread for this or ban the exchange or sale of money for SL, BA, uni-assist.
My humble submission. That i will not happen because its not feasible and i have always ban any post requesting or adverting SL here. There is no business opportunity here and i hope i understands that. |

dolpaz: Bro,
You shouldn´t throw stones if you live in a Glass house. you never deemed it fit to post such information but you decided to post it after I made an effort to assist anyone willing to pay for Uni-assist. Is it too bad to give back to the thread after donkey of years ?
I know what guys goes through daily esp when it comes to transferring money here either for blocked account or Uni assist. I have been through many difficult situations anyone could have ever been through and am here to the glory of God. I have also been a long standing member of this thread (Just wise) can attest to this. I would never think of scamming anyone of their hard earned cash. But since you´re seeing my post as an opportunity to take advantage of helpless people, I hereby withdraw the post of assisting with Uni-assist payment anymore.
If you´re not in De, I pray You´ll be here someday God willing and I hope you have the same heart, and if you do, someone somewhere will see you as a scammer then you´ll understand how it feels.
Now I see why most founding members left this group. This post is really misleading and I know it was targetted towards my wish to help struggling Nigerian´s who doesn´t have the means to pay for uni assist from Nigeria. If you´re seeing my post for the first time, you could have checked thru my profile to see my date of registration and the post I have been making right from PART 1... So no be joke
Anyway, I came out from my shell to dish infos about Pre and Post studies, Getting PR and Blue card and above all, settling well in DE. I´m not being proud but most of these things are not found on the pages of the internet. and because of their dynamic laws, what happens in city A may haunt you in city B.
Like I said before, I´ll take a bow from here probably watch from the sidelines and contribute my quota whenver I wish to.
I wish everyone Success ! Your reaction is misplaced and I wasn't expecting this from you. People are getting scammed frequently here and people like Eldeee, heybaby12 and few others are speaking out then you showed up to type that? I usually monitor few IDs here with questionable intent but now that has changed. We have to keep this thread safe from heartless crooks and help each other as Nigerians |

cleverdiva: @justwise...Please advise
I just returned from my master's degree programme this January and my Tier 4 visa expired on the 25th of January 2019 My graduation is in April 2019 and I know I need a Standard visitor visa to attend my graduation. I have started the application process and I would like you guide me through this so that I would not encounter any problems.
I filled in "other'' as my main reason for visit stating that I am visiting to attend my graduation ceremony on Friday, April 2019.
I am currently unemployed and I have savings of about 1800GBP and I would be sponsoring myself for this trip. I am aware that the Visa application would cost 93GBP leaving me with an approximate amount of 1700GBP I intend to spend a total of 800GBP which would cover accommodation, feeding, return flight ticket and personal expenses for a period of 5days. Total amount of money spent each month was declared to be 30GBP Do you think the above is sufficient?
With regards to documents to be submitted, I have the following:
Valid International passport One passport photograph Proof of finance: 3 months bank statement from my UK bank account showing an approximate amount of 1700GBP Confirmation of accommodation (Hotel Reservation inclusive of breakfast totaling 295GBP for the period of 5 days) Confirmation email of graduation from school
Since I am currently unemployed, what can I use as proof of return since I do not have any letter from an employer? And what other supporting documents can I add to this?
Anticipating your response. Thanks. Considering your situation there is the best you can present, i can't think of anything else to add. |

Here is the part 6 An incredible job by all contributors including those who ask questions and those who provide answers, job well done! This is part 5 https://www.nairaland.com/4566903/general-german-student-visa-enquiriesThe following steps will help newbies (Thanks to CassieV for the tips)
Most of the schools in Germany are tuition free even for international students, you only get to pay a certain amount as semester fees say between 100-400 euros and most times the semester fee comes with a semester ticket to aid in transportation in your city or town. However, before you're granted a student visa, you have to prove that you can take care of your living expenses with one of the following means ; 1. Block account: The estimated living expenses for a student in a month is 720euros, when you multiply that by 12 months, you get 8640euros. This is the amount you're required to block in an already opened account with either Deutsch bank, Fintiba or Xpatrio. It is called a block account because you will not be able to withdraw everything at once, only 720euros will be released to you every month. 2. Sponsorship letter: If you have a relative living and working legally in Germany, they can get you this letter. They'll have to visit the alien office in their city and will be required to provide some documents and pay a certain fee. The letter will be sent to you when they receive it so that you can go with it for your visa interview. 3. Scholarship: This is usually the best if you have the scholarship, your visa will be granted in under 2 weeks after interview. So try and look for scholarships you can apply to.
Now that you understand the financial situation, let's go into the application process. To search for schools, click on this link https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/?p=l&q=&fos=0&lang[]=2&fee[]=0&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list filter your search to make it easier, there are English taught courses there. Generally, the very important documents needed to apply to schools in Germany are; 1. Transcript 2. English Proficiency 3. School Certificates (Degree, Waec, etc) However, depending on the school, some other documents needed are as follows. 4. Curriculum Vitae 5. Motivation letter 6. Reference letters 7. GRE test 8. Etcetera.. Visit your prospective school website and find out the documents they need from you. Note: You don't apply with your original documents, you have to make photocopies of them and Certify them in High court or a Notary public. If you stay in Lagos, you can certify at the German Embassy too. You'll have to book appointment for that. For those planning to go for a Bachelors course, you need a 100level transcript from a university to apply for a BSc program in germany. WAEC alone will not be enough and No, OND will not do, you need a HND.
For the application proper, it is always important to go through the website of the schools you want to apply to, you'll get a lot of information form there concerning how to apply. Some schools do only online applications, some requires that you send your application documents to them by post after applying online, some you send your documents as pdf to their email address and then you get the uni assist crew. Like I said earlier, it is important to go visit and read the websites.
When you get your admission letter, open a block account immediately(that is if you don't already have a sponsorship letter) and as soon as you get your account details, send an email to the embassy requesting for a visa interview date. You need these to get an interview date: 1. Admission letter 2. Block account/sponsorship letter/scholarship letter 3. International passport data page(scanned) Then your Full name and Resident address.
Prepare for your interview Go for your interview For newbies your German school search starts here https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/en/ |

Bolamike: Thanks for the responses @justwise I have listed out the documents I will submitting with my application. Can you help review and see if there's any additional document I might need.
They are:- 1. Hotel Reservation for 9 days (I have seen a private room in an apartment, can I use this or should I go for hotel) 2. Employment Letter 3. Reference letter from my employer stating that he is aware of this and is recommending me for the visa. 4. Leave/Vacation letter from my employer 5. Bank Statements of 6 months (Total credit of around 3m and closing balance of 1.4m, I spent around 800k-1m for my dad's house refurnish. Hope it won't affect?) 6. Employer's address and telephone in a letter format 7. Cover letter 8. Invitation letter for the event 9. Birth certificate.
I have calculated my budget trip and it amounts to around 1500 pounds (accommodation, feeding, return flight ticket and personal expenses.) My salary being converted to pounds is around 1100 pounds per month.
Am I good to go with this? or any other doc I can add?
Kindly help review it Thanks The list looks good just carefully complete the form. Good luck |

Jommy26: @Justwise et al
I've posted earlier on my refusal notes. Please help with these.
- I earned 160k from govt job - I paid myself salary range of 350k - 450k in the last 6 months
Question: - What should my place of work read? - What salary do you earn after Tax should be? - Do you have other income or savings? - Do I need to mention what I earn from personal business?
Thank you all. You paid yourself between 350-450k monthly? And govt pays you 160K? You still wonder why people get refused a visa? How can you possibly pay yourself almost half a million naira a month from side business while holding a full time job that pays you 160k? You are setting yourself up for another refusal. Please state your financial situation as honest as you can because nobody will believe the picture you painted |
