please I need the best of advice/ideas to solving this problem before someone does what he no suppose.
An ex patient or service user raised a sexual complaint against her previous carer since last year August and he has been suspended from work ever since. We first thought it would be over soon that its just to do investigation and come up with findings which will either proof guilt or innocence. But loo and behold up till now the issue is still on the table. The last action that sparked outrage was during one session he was asked some questions in which he mentioned hes schooling in a university, so they now went ahead to write the Uni to inform them hes under investigation so the uni asked him to stay away until he is cleared. I cant stomach this injustice anymore. Please how does someone fight this kind of battle. It took months for the details of the so called offence that led to safeguard was even known o. the police have been invited and they couldnt find any evidence of misbehavior. Yet these people are hell bent in destroying a mans life. the only thing was that the girl was given a lift and the discussion was going intimate and he claimed he stopped it and dropped her off at the hospital and went his way. that very week wahala started and up till now na on top of the matter we still dey. No work since last year and the small consolation traing hes trying to do they blocked it without any formal conviction. this BS has to stop.

Please any great advice will be welcomed

Nah the genesis of his wahala be that. Make una dey careful with all this oyinbos. Don't be surprised that lady get all the recordings for hand and has tendered it for the work place. Please I want to ask, I'm currently a student here in the Youkay. My school sent me a mail to face an academic misconduct panel for one of my assignment were the similarity score is 35%. I find this disturbing because I did my work by myself, reference all articles used, in fact I did everything required of me. Bulk of the 35% is made up of my references of which I cannot do anything about it. My peeps have more than 35% but was not invited.

Though I'm confident of what I did but don't know why they have to send me such destabilising mail.

Is anyone here who have experience such situation, pls advice.

I think you just have to bear, cut down some expenses so you don't need to borrow and keep at it till you get a better paying job.

And at the risk of over- repeating myself: the gov has no issue with masters students. It was the unsustainable and disproportionate number of dependents that became the issue.

Ok, use the link above from Zahra29 to check what your council tax should be. Different properties will have different tax bands. Generally speaking the bigger the property, the higher the council tax.

The government's view and policy has always been that international students are only here for a short time and then return home. It is the choice of the student to pay £15k to acquire a post graduate degree (undergrad students pay significantly more), which does not consequently mandate permanent settlement.

Obviously they are now realising that the intentions of postgrad students have changed, largely due to the increase in students from Asia and Africa who would rather remain in the UK than go home, which is why the govt is looking at ways to tighten the rules.

See below statement from Jenrick, immigration minister, made in the house of commons this week:

We have seen, historically, that the vast majority of students leave the country and go back to their home country to continue their careers and lives.
It is possible that the system that has evolved since 2019 will see different trends. In 2020, only 7,400 non-EU students stayed on post study and those numbers may be dramatically higher in the years ahead. It may be that the mix of individuals, the countries they come from - if these individuals come to the UK to study and then spend a period of time here on the graduate route, and certainly if they bring dependants, that we will start to see a significant increase in the number of people staying here, making a life in the UK and not returning home, in which case policies of this kind will become more important.

Undergraduates are not allowed dependents and they study for 3-4 years. They make up more than half of the overseas student population and pay tens of thousands of pounds over the duration of their course, so why is no one advocating for them to be able to bring in dependents if they wish to?I had some mature students (as they were called) on my degree course who had families, so it's not only postgrads that have families.

Students are still very welcome, all the govt is saying is that they do not have the resources to accommodate the hundreds of thousands of dependents that are now coming along.

In addition, no more switching allowed and more scrutiny on maintenance funds:

The package will also remove the ability for international students to switch out of the student route and into work routes before their studies have been completed "to prevent misuse of the visa system", the government said.

As well as removing this right, there will also be a review of the maintenance requirement for students and dependents and a crackdown on "unscrupulous" education agents "who make use of inappropriate applications to sell immigration, not education".



Applications will be more closely examined as well, so best to avoid any breaches of the rules:
