Simple statistical maths using the questionaire method.
How many alternate ID's do you have? ceteris paribus and honestly too!
Did you carry that out here in nairaland before making your claim?
To foolishly think NL is a million members strong is living in a fantasy world of tail-like fairies.
70% of those bogus figures quoted on the top page are alternate ID's and dead accounts all in a bid to drive advert sales.
There is a premature moderator that displays a significant amount of cerebral palsy and deranged cerebrum.
This particular moderator should know that foolishness displayed in virtual e-world is directly proportional to parental upbringing provided joblessness remains constant.
Eqn F=kPU
Where
F is foolishness
k is Joblessness[constant]
PU is Parental upbringing

All arriving at a serious indictment on the parents.
How did you arrive at that figure?

Gboliwe: what a judge you are! You went through the pages and concluded that Justwise was rude? You are so biased.

It is clear that skyone was angrily making insultive comments, he initiated the whole drama and Justwise was even calm the better part of the charade. As for Onatisi, that one alongside tpia were just stoking flames. They don't have anything to say than to push skyone to fire and hide behind.

Somebody asked that with most nairalanders clamouring for front page, if a post receives frontpage publicity and with over 60,000 views and 3,000 comments later the owner of such thread decide to leave by deactivation, what happens to the 3,000 comments? This is a public forum. Everything here is on google. Have that at the back of your minds when you decide to wash your lingeries
Oh no!, he only saw my replies, his ability to read ,comprehend then make judgement starts and ends with my posts

Davo93: You don't need to respond to this man 'Justwise' especially because he understands all what we are talking here. Everything has been explained in the intial thread.
You seriously have a prob, you can't answer a single question and at the same time discouraging others from doing so.
I don't understand a single point you are trying to make

eddiebruk: 3977 Views, probably guest viewers were calculated and also i am sure that It wasn't featured on the front page, if not since one year ago it would have had more views than what it is, and a lot of people do not know about this situation and so maybe if you put it on the FP you will get as much Opinion of people, this is the politics you guys play on NL. when it comes to suggestion to better NL you find it as threats and will bluntly refuse to have it featured on the FP.
Tell me this..... how will deactivation button better nairaland?

eddiebruk: Yes we, there are actually others who will stand solidarity to this request.
Nairaland has more than 1million members and only about 10 out of them are supporting the delete button issue.

This thread https://www.nairaland.com/993846/ok-seun-how-close-nairaland was started more than a yr ago, viewed by 3977 people but only about 10 people supported the idea. That simply means that millions are not interested in the issue at all.

Nickjnr: @Dis Guy
I arrived into the UK in 2008 with my British passport thinking I would pay fees as a Home Student. On application to several Uni's I was told I did not qualify for home fees. Had to wait 3 years to re-apply and was allowed to pay home fees. Just finished my Masters now. So you are right. smiley
Have you lived in the UK as British citizen then went away for a long time before coming back to enroll for the course?

paradisewoods: Please house I got my visa response today and it was refusal , they used an higher exchange rate compared to the one I used , but that's not the problem . My question is: it possible to defer my admission till next year March without telling the school I was refused visa ? I don't want the school to know I was refused Visa . Can I just mail the school to defer my admission till next year ? Thanks justwise , don oms , jide Vince and everyone , waiting for ur responses
Inform your school about the visa refusal then ask for the admission to be deferred, they will not have any prob with that.

Davo93: Alright say. Thanks for drawing my attention to that. We actually meant what you said. Oops! perhaps if Seun refuses to acknowledge our requests after all our intended actions, obviously we are not going to do anything by ourselves but it will go down history lane 'when the need' be that some set of concerned Nairalanders discussed this important issue.

So you don't have to be scared of anything, no threat is involved.

Davo93: @Sexkillz & Mynd_44, Truly, the letter was addressed to Mr Seun, Mukina2 and other moderators but i still understand, your position in this matter cannot decide it. So please, why don't you just wait and watch and let us see Mr Seun personally respond to our requests.

To add with, a mature moderator don't insult members anyhow for expressing their views. I pray you don't ruin the work that has taken Seun about 7 years to flourish and excel with this your kind of attitude.

Amandla Awetu!
...and matured members don't insult moderators for doing their job, it goes both ways.

You don't demand, you make a polite request and wait for responds from Seun and stop using threatening language.

Millions have said that before and still never came back, not suggesting that your brother will do the same though.
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 10:07am On Sep 26, 2013
Tats: If the application proceeds, perhaps it may be necessary to briefly state why he did not use his last visa.

Basically, if I were the one, I would write something in this line.....the passport was received too late for him to attend the graduation and he didn't want to travel on that visa for any other purpose than it was intended for (especially if they annotated on the visa that he was attending a graduation).

If NYSC was not ending before he proceeds for the next trip, it would have been less of a worry as he would have provided his NYSC deployment letter (if given) and a letter from his place of assignment indicating that he works there on an NYSC basis and would finish his assignment at a certain date. Otherwise, It is looking difficult now as proving that he will return would be a challenge.

It is understandable that you want to have family with you at Christmas but if it doesn't feel right to apply now, it may be better to leave it until when the chances are higher (when he at least gets a good job). It may work out in his favour now if he applies and he gets the visa or he may risk it and be refused which would jeopardise his chances of getting a visa for a while. Note that some other embassies ask if you have ever been refused a visa by any other country, so a refusal now may potentially also affect getting visas for certain countries in future.
I doubt that will work as they are not allowed to take foreign trip during that period

@Op

What you said about Maitama is true though that was not the case around 1993 when i went to maitama to live with my elder brother, it was an affordable place then, individuals not just diplomats or political big dogs buy houses then, up until 1999 when i left there 'ordinary' Nigerians can still afford to live there, but when i visited again in 2008 things have changed drastically, maitama rebuilt, expensive shopping centers springs up, posh looking houses, things very expensive within that area, maitama was basically taken over by some upper class Nigerians because some people were 'forced to sale their houses because they were offered stupid amount of money too hard to reject.

mizztee: Thank you for responding. He was a student at the time and under 18, so he was a dependent on my mum.

He graduated last year and is now 21.
That was exactly why i asked that question.

He will now face a tough task to prove tie to Nigeria because he got no job, no business, not married and as an educated adult he can't use his parents as tie to Nigeria anymore

Delphy97: I submitted a bank statement for my tier 4(student visa) which contained some money for a stated period of time but we have now removed the money. Is there a way the ukba could find out that the money is gone after the period I stated it was there.is it possible for the bank to reveal this information to them?and if they find out the money has been taken out after the stated period that it was there for, could I be refused a student visa?
That is misleading and will lead to refusal if the embassy get to know that, and again, how will you survive in the UK without that money?

Proudlygemini: Hello MODs, First i want to say thanks for your help the last time, i had a wonderful trip and now back in the country. I have a very tricky one this time but i know with your help and God's help i will pass through. Okay as you know my husband is a BC that lives and works here in Nigeria but goes back home often and i have a son from my previous relationship. Now i and my husband have decided to move back to the Uk and i know which visa category i fall under but i need some help, i am just worried about my Son and how to apply for him. I read that he needs his own application:

1. Does that mean he would have to take his own english language requirements tests? NOTE: He's 5yrs old
2. I plan to relocate in Jan but bring my son in June/July,so he can start the new school year in september, when should i make his own application?
3. Since i and hubby live here now, we plan on renting an apartment as our proof of accommodation before i submit my application, would that be a problem?
4. Apart from the english requirement test i need to take are there any other tests,i read somewhere about TB tests
5. Any advice on what supporting documents we need to provide as my hubby is based here and not in the UK.
6. I plan to school once i'm settled in, but do i apply as an International Student?

-Thanks for your help, MUCHOS GRACIAS
-He does not need any English language test.

-Relocating before applying for him is the right decision because you need to prove that you have an accommodation suitable for family for a child at his age.

-No TB test is needed, if one is needed it will be carried out at the POE.

-You need to prove that he is actually your son (birth certificate etc)

- With permanent resident paper or British passport you will pay as home student.

mizztee: Hello all,

I want to sponsor my brother so he can come visit me. I live and work in the UK, and will be acting as the full sponsor. My concern is he's just about to finish nysc and so can't get an employment letter etc. How do we demonstrate strong ties to Nigeria? He was previously issued a visa to attend my graduation but the passport came out late and he never used the visa. I want to be as meticulous as possible and don't want him to be refused. I'd like him to spend Christmas with me.

I maintain an account in Nigeria with a substantial amount of money in it and I have a somewhat healthy balance in my uk account too. I am just concerned about our ability to demonstrate strong ties to Nigeria. All suggestions welcome :-)
When he was given a visa for your graduation how did he demonstrate his tie to Nigeria then?

drillskillz: Hello Justwise or londoncool or anyone that could help,
My wife will be travelling to the UK for her PhD in some days.......She is currently on PTDF scholarship that will take up to 4 years ......so am planning to apply for a tier 4 dependant visa soon.....We have been asked to keep some amount of money in her foreign account for a period of 28days ........Presently am not working as i resigned from bank some months ago....PTDF is willing to give me a covering letter introducing me as the husband of the said scholar and also offered to be responsible for my plane ticket....Its also pertinent to state that before now PTDF covers the living expenses of both the husband and the wife but for cost-cutting reasons they have decided to remove the clause for PhD scholars.
Please what are my chances ??
what approach do you think i should make to avoid being denied ?
Thanks
You need more than plane ticket, i'm busy now to go into details but you can read the section for dependant here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/Tier4migrantguidance.pdf

If you still have questions after than then ask i will be free tomorrow to answer in details.

joel911: God is goood!!! I picked up my passport/visa yesterday.

I have many revelations.

I applied initially on July 4th and received a refusal on July 25th cos I used a fixed deposit and company account.

I transferd the funds into my account and made another application on September 9th. I attached a letter appealing to the ECO to consider my start date which was September 23rd.

My visa was issued in Sheffield, tho I applied in Lagos. It was issued on 13th September (4 working days). I wasn't notified for collection until on Monday 23rd.

I'm leaving tomorrow (thursday) on Emirates.

As per processed passport or processed application, there is no evidence to prove whether it determines the decision of on your application cos my refused and approved application showed "Processed passport is in transit to the UK visa application centre.

I use this opportunity to thank everyone and congratulate those who applied on the 9th of September with me in advance and others who were granted and will be granted entry clearance.

God bless Justwise and his colleagues at Nairaland.
Congratulations!, the most important thing here is that you persisted until you get the result you wanted, all the very best with your studies.

AeeNgy: No one can understand the joy I feel today. I never asked a single question in this forum because, its useless asking questions that had been previously answered. I used this forum to cheer myself up while I waited for a decision to be made on my application.
Contrary to what some people think, there are some reliable agents in Nigeria who don't charge a dime to assist you- Please, I am not advertising any educational agent as I only sort their assistance because of my tight schedule.
All we did was follow UKBA guideline, submit the right documents, pray, believe, and " dream". My visa was eventually issued after 9 working days. All roads lead to Aberdeen and congratulations in advance to those still waiting. @ Justwise, are you married? Sometimes I wonder how you and other moderators cope with your personal life.

Yes.. to nairaland grin grin, moderating here is volunteering, so still have time for other stuff.

Congratulations on your visa though

Davo93: Hmmmm... i stumbled on this thread lately and i took my time to read closely.

Firstly, Justwise was so unwise and rude to Nairalanders after they requested for something legitimate. Thats quite disheartening!

Secondly, i never looked from the angles these concerned Nairalanders are looking from as per safety and security but i am begining to understand somethings.

Thirdly, I guess the fear of Seun not loosing lead has prevented him from considering this serious issue and that could back-fire in no time.

Lastly, i am sure if a lot of Nairalanders understand the consequence of lack of privacy and security they are exposed to here, they will dump it! I am becoming skeptical on putting up replies and topics here on Nairaland.

I want to implore Seun and Mukina2 to please give this matter a second thought.
Will deactivating your account prevent people from seeing your previous posts here?
