ernestleon: That's a lie,he made his statement for the future not for the present. You are the one lying here, he did not make his statement for the future, he said: under current rules that Nigeria is eligible. |
MrsBee: @Justwise, please you are yet to respond on my own situation.I have gone through all the replies given to you by others both in this thread and in other one, the money lodgement was your downfall, you should have explained where the money came from, its a red-flag to lodge such huge amount of money prior to application. |
leeon2011: @girlfio @justwisePlease take your time and go through this thread, it has been listed by many members here over and over again, please remember that the list will defer from individual to individual but you will have a great idea of what you need to include in your case |
komakan: You are putting it to me. I didnt bcs im not a consular officer, this is why i dont say what i dont knw. The fact is that he pronounced himself as visaofficer to the public as to confide in his authenticity statement but he later fumbled.Exactly!, so at the time and date he made that statement it could be true that Nigeria has not exhausted their 50,000 visa limit because the bulletin came out Sept and the 2013 processing ended Sept. |
princessmoi:Based on the bolded part...you may not have problem. |
ernestleon: His statement was made on the 23 of August 2013, he openly said if there will be dv 2015 under current rules Nigeria will be eligible.I guess he got the information from himself not from a reliable source. The so called rumour from Wikipedia has been proven true and correct and of course like you said he cannot rely on a rumour from Wikipedia he should have kept quiet and wait for official confirmation.Yes he made that comment in August, when did the current bulletin came out? |
komakan: No. That was not TRUE he was being realistic that according to the statistic for the past five years, Nigeria has not exhausted up to 50,000 which means he was sure of her eligibility.Do you know when Nigeria exhausted their 50,000 visa limit? |
Yes, you're right sir. The rules also said that the 28 days will be counted from the day of closing balance upwards. So in essence, they should count from print date upwards and once 28 days is reached, discard other transactions above. I think that's the logical thing to do although I don't trust them (ECOs) for what they did to me.
No again, the counting is backwards, from the printing date to the date the complete money was deposited in the account. |
princessmoi:Hmmmm....hands on heart i sincerely hope that you are given a visa but if you got refused then you got yourself to blame because you had all the time to go through this thread as i gave you the link months ago. In that 6months bank statement..when was the complete money paid (fees + maintenance money ) in the account? |
I believe 6 months is better. I printed exactly 28 days and was refused because the ECO counted from the first transaction on the statement thus amounting to 21 days. To be safer I think it's okay. Was your covering letter stamped? If it is, then you're okay. Even if it's not, remain calm & pray too. You've submitted already and all you can get now is a reply. Goodluck!
No its not ok, the rule stated clearly that the money should be kept in the account for 28days and not more than a month after the 28days. |
ernestleon: This is real sad news.Visaofficer has made himself unreliable by saying otherwise. okeymen: what did Visaofficer say about DV 2015? did he say Nigeria will be eligible? komakan: Exactly! And that was why I emphasized on official announcement, being an officer does not guaranteed ur reliability. He was right to deny that Nigeria is not eligible for 2015 lottery because at that time it was all rumour with no official confirmation, he can not rely on rumour from Wikipedia, it was only confirmed officially in latest bulletin. |
princessmoi: Yea( indicating I've been banking with them etc etc thought it goes together with the statement?) plus a six month bank statement print out but I just realised it wasn't stamped. Why 6months bank statement? |
princessmoi: Justwise, someone mentioned bank statement and I just realised that mine wasn't stamped but the covering letter was signed a bit worried. Is there a problem?Covering letter from the bank? |
rakisha: Good morning everyone. Pls can anyone help me. What does this sign mean? I was issued a UK visa in one of d free visa pages but when I checked the last page, I saw this. Pls help. Thank youThat is Home office visa section stamp. |
@nachie20 Stop dropping your contact detail here. |
komakan: where?http://travel.state.gov/pdf/DV_2015_Instructions.pdf |
winzie: am a British citizen, I really missed my younger brothers and sisters. I think I will be a happier person if I have one or two of my youngers brother and sister here with me in the uk. my question is can I sponsor them to come to the uk as a dependant to me? do they stand a chance of been granted a settlement visa to enter and remain in uk?To add to what liliana said, their ages matters and prove that they actual depend on you for maintenance |
liliana: I think it depends on their ages as well as you having a good job to cater for them without recourse to public funds. I suggest you check the UKBA website for more information. You will need to convince the visa officers that they (your siblings) are better off with you. All the best.Wow!! you found your nairaland password today? long time. |
ferdimako: For Nigerians, marry Ghanians to move on with the applications.Hahaha.Make some folks no die oh!Ghanians will make sure that Nigerians don't ruin it for them, so USA embassy there will keep tap on that because the number of applicants from Ghana will group more than before raising suspicion. |
VisaOfficer: FYI, Wikipedia is wrong about this. I'm a Consular officer and I can attest that the threshold of 50,000 visas in five years has NOT been met in Nigeria. If there is a 2015 Diversity Visa program, under current rules, Nigeria will be eligible.Nigeria is not eligible as stated in this official pdf file http://travel.state.gov/pdf/DV_2015_Instructions.pdf |
ferdimako: There'll be DV 2015 but not for Nigerians. http://travel.state.gov/pdf/DV_2015_Instructions.pdfTrue, its confirmed now. |
komakan: How do you knw it is not TRUE?Read reply by VisaOfficer https://www.nairaland.com/1261345/dv-lottery-2015-nigeria-eligibilty |
Kiran14: i been in uk previously so may be thats y they called me for interview .i back to my country when we lost the college licence but home office never send any kind of letter.i think they want some clarification about this. Kiran14: i been in uk previously so may be thats y they called me for interview .i back to my country when we lost the college licence but home office never send any kind of letter.i think they want some clarification about this.It got nothing to do with one previous trip to the UK, this is Sept, its rush period and application takes 20 working days or more even |
@Op, There are more than enough thread like this already in the section, do a search and fine one. |
Search this section thread like this exist already. |
Adegokenath: DV2015 WILL START IN OCTOBER UNFORTUNATLY NIGERIA WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE SOURCE ASK GOOGLE. Our hope is on second batch winners in octThat is misleading, not true. |
target007: Hi Guys, my wife received her visa today and it was a refusal...we are very devastated about this news. I have not gotten the scanned copy of the refusal letter yet but here are what I can picked up from the phone discussion with her:Sorry to read this, i know the feeling but take your time to go through the refusal letter again. Don't dismiss reason no 1 they gave, because visa is involved here, meeting somebody and getting married within 7days will definitely raise an eyebrow, even without the issue of visa, people will be surprised that you people did not take time to know each other before rushing to marriage. JohnWray has done justice to reason no 3 |
riteaide: Depending on who is looking at it, and reasonable facts, an adult can have a sponsor. Having said that, that adult must of course give good reason for not being able to sponsor themselves/or why the sponsor has offered to. No flimsy stories will do. If there is a genuine reason and a sensible one at that, apart from medical reasons, it is definitely doable.Give me one single reason why an adult will be able to sponsor another adult for holiday to the UK, just one. |
thekid123: No I just filled the form and wrote a letter explaining why I thought they made a mistake with my application. I don't think you are allowed to resubmit any documents or to submit new ones. That was very nice of them, some schools will leave you to battle it out alone. |
riteaide: Like I stated earlier on, I have seen it happen personally ie an adult sponsoring an adult. But just like other viable options, it might not work all the time given the uncertainties of the ECO's. no lazy commentAn adult can sponsor another adult for medical treatment but not for leisure trip to the UK, if you can't afford foreign holiday comfortably then don't bother going to BHC hoping that they accept the story that another adult is sponsoring you for holiday. |
