Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by justwise(mod): 8:40pm On Mar 28, 2013
koksy2k2: Hello Justwise and all nairalanders, i am new to this forum, i have heard a lot of good stuff about it which is why i am here now.

I have a nagging question for you justwise, my uni starts April 22nd and i applied for my visa on tuesday the 26th. when my CAS was issued i noticed some mistakes like wrong birth date, passport number and diploma course subject. I sent an email to the uni asking them to amend the letter and issue another so i could go and drop off my application this is the reply the school sent me.

We have made the amendments and have updated the changes on the UKBA CAS system, therefore, you can submit the CAS letter I have issued you.
We cannot add the changes on the letter but we have added the changes on the CAS system which the UKBA and the Embassy have access to.
We cannot change the address, which is not as important as the passport number and date of birth. If you want the address to be changed on the letter, you will
Have to wait until the system is working and you would need to change your appointment date. However, you can submit your visa application today based on the changes we
Have made on the system in regards to your passport number and date of birth.

If you have any questions, please let me know

the only reason i went ahead with it was because the lady convinced me that the visa officials always verify online which is where they would see the sponsor note attached with the updated amendments.
So i guess my question now is was it a wise move going ahead with the submission or should i have insisted on the re-issue of the CAS? i know that the answer wouldnt quite make a difference being that i have already put in my application but i would appreciate one nonetheless..

the wait is excruciating i would need to get this worrying off my mind..
Since the school assured you that the changes has been made then you got nothing to worry about

TheJames: Well I didn't want to post this info before, but let me just help Nigerians eager to travel to Europe for greener pastures.

There is a country in South East Europe called Republic of Kosovo, its a new country and it just gained its independence from Serbia in 2008. This country is visa free for Nigerians. Visa will be issued on arrival at the airport.

What you just need to travel is your International Passport, an Invitation letter from Kosovo and Your bank account statement.

Once you have all this, book your flight and en route Muritala Muhammed International airport. You will fly with Turkish airlines.

Once you arrive Kosovo, don't even think of spending 1 week there....Travel straight to Greece or Albania.

The country is just recovering from a war and its still kinda poor. Kosovo shares border with Greece, and Albania.

Welcome to Europe and start your hustle. My cousin just arrived Kosovo yesterday . I am planning on going in april.

NB: Kosovo will start asking for visas from June, 2013....so go now if you're interested.
When you get to POE in Greece with your Nigerian passport then what?

Rossikk: Dude you lost me. Fact is that the only reason most people can come here to insult Nigerian leaders in crisp English is that the Nigerian govt did what the British govt did not do, ie provide mass education to the Nigerian public. Had the British still been in charge, people like Gbawe and others would be in their villages tapping palm wine and hunting rats and rabbits like their illiterate forbears, not on NL insulting those who gave them a better life, ie the Nigerian govt. Proof? Literacy rate in the 1950s was under 10 percent. Today it is 75 percent. Go figure!
Obviously you are confused and the evidence is clearly seen from all your disjointed arguments. Is as if you having being living in planet ape for ages.

British govt building the school does not mean that i did not pay for my education? Are you struggling to follow simple logic?

Rossikk: Spare us that garbage. It is easy to say all this now, afterall you've been taught to read and write and know the world, courtesy of Nigerian govt investment in mass education. I'm sure our illiterate grandparents would have much preferred this current, supposedly "low standard" education, to no education at all under British rule, when they were all stuck in villages as hunters and farmers. I'm sure they would have preferred "badly maintained roads" to "no roads at all" as was the case for most of the country during British rule.
Oh please shut it! Who benefited from Nigerian govt investment? I paid my way through university with no single contribution from Nigerian govt. Fools like you don't seem to get it.
Politics › Re: Alamieyeseigha: Still Wanted In The UK - Envoy by justwise(m): 1:40pm On Mar 28, 2013
Rossikk: You are asking for the "standard of education in Nigeria". I don't blame you. What was the standard when literacy was at 7 percent with only one "university college" serving 100 million people courtesy of your British misrulers? You are asking what roads Nigerian goats built? Any more proof needed that you are irredeemably stupi.d? How will you see what we have built when your eyes are blinded by colonial mentality? Dunce.
Buildings does not mean quality, planting schools in every corner of the country with zero equipment and poorly paid teachers and lecturers is just nonsense. Its well documented that Nigeria has badly maintained roads, only little minded cretin like you will see otherwise.
Politics › Re: Alamieyeseigha: Still Wanted In The UK - Envoy by justwise(m): 1:31pm On Mar 28, 2013
Rossikk: You want to know what we did with the money since the Brits left? Well for starters, we brought mass education to the people. Including your dunce self. You would have been a village peasant today were it not for independence. The British embezzled Nigerian resources for a century and left you without a single university. Compare that to the record of Nigerian leaders, where even state governments build universities, roads, hospitals etc. in 1952 Nigeria had an infant mortality rate of 259 out of 1000. Today that number is down to 88 out of 1000 thanks to indigenous rule and investment in hospitals and health care centres. Under the British, if you were sick, you went to your local babalawo for treatment, as there was near zero investment in health. The country produced 270 megawatts of electricity at independence after a century of British rule and exporting of Nigerian resources. If that is not gross criminality, for which no one has answered, what is? As for South Africa, they are developed because their colonial govt reinvested their gold exports profits into the country right from the 1800s. They did so because there was a white settler community there. In fully black territories like Nigeria, all the colonialists did was Loot.
God! Are you naturally this useless? What is the standard of Education in Nigeria and where do we rank in world ranking? What road did they build? What hospital did they build with the money that no single politician wants to get treated or die in Nigeria? Where did Yar'Adua, Stela Obasanjo and many other went for treatment and died?

You really need to get your head checked
Politics › Re: Alamieyeseigha: Still Wanted In The UK - Envoy by justwise(m): 1:00pm On Mar 28, 2013
Rossikk: Only to a rotten slave like you will it make no sense to ask the British what they did with the resources they exported out of Nigeria from 1914 to 1960 , leaving the country without a single proper university, not one dual carriage road, and a literary rate of 7 percent. Thank your lucky stars their rule ended in 1960. Otherwise you would have been an illiterate like your peasant forebears, not an educated by Nigerian govt, lousy, self hating ingrate more adept at sucking colonial c.ock than using his brains. Fuc.k you and your slavery to colonial rulers. Nigeria is 10000 times better and more developed today than it ever was under British rule, Thanks to indigenous rule. You have a problem with that Uncle Tom, go jump in the River Thames Stu.pid slave.
You are a disgrace to human race, this is a case of black stealing from black with impunity and you are here talking about British slave.

Tell me this..since we regained our Independence what have we done with those resource the British were stealing?

Fool are we the only country colonized by British? How about South Africa, Egypt, America and many other countries. They moved on and build their individual countries while Nigeria is busy looting and banking outside Nigeria.

Silly cow.

negrakitty: Thanks for your responses - have to say I agree about coming clean - particularly on the time when he was detained and deported. Can I check tho re: your advice he apply from Nigeria - why would that be better than from here? Because they'll know he sneaked back in? Also why isn't our case stronger through applying here - where we can better demonstrate we've built a life together in the UK?
He does not have a strong case applying from the UK as he is living illegally to start with, yes you can get married to him as that is your human right as British citizen but the marriage certificate will not get him a stay because of his status before the marriage. Not that applying from Nigeria will be a walk in the park..no, his previous offences will still show up but at the end spouse visa over-rides previous offences if no vital info is withheld by the applicant.

dohyn: In as much as I really hate the presidential pardon given to Alams,I also don't like double standards..The British government recently released a saudi prince who was jailed for killing his homosexual partner to continue his sentence in Saudi Arabia..so,who's fool who?
Still, the pardon for alams was unpardonable...
How does the two cases relate? Was the Saudi prince pardoned by the UK govt or the Saudi? How does prisoner exchange equate to pardon?
Politics › Re: Alamieyeseigha: Still Wanted In The UK - Envoy by justwise(m): 9:44am On Mar 28, 2013
eldoradoxx: I don't know why there is so much noise about the Alams pardon. Presidential pardon is granted to only persons who have commmited offence against the law and have been convicted and sentenced and served or serving their sentence. Alams fits into this, he was convicted, jailed(the only Governor to have gone to jail since Buhari's era). He had lost all the money he stole. Infact the hotel he bought for about 2 billion was taken from him etc. So what else was left if not pardon. Presidential pardon is like telling your child after serving a punishment you gave him that you love and stil care about him. If I were the president I would grant pardon to everyone who has served his term, let him go and start life afresh and become useful to the society again. On the issue of UK waiting for Alams, the High Commissioner should be well informed about issues before coming to press. The charge against Alams was that he stole public fund in Nigeria and illegally brought it to UK. Now, he had been convicted of the stealing and gone to jail and pardoned by the president. The implication is that he can't be tried again. The presidential pardon has now removed the illegality in the bringing of the money to UK (laundering) and by legal fiction, the money Alams brought to UK by reason of the pardon has become legitimate and cannot be subject to any criminal trial again anywhere. A case in example in Okah's trial and conviction in SA. If in the course of the trial, let's assume he was pardoned by the president of Nigeria, would the trial go on? No! Why? because the offence he committed was against Nigeria and if Nigeria represented by her president says there is no offence against her, what would the court be trying Okah for again.
He will still be arrested in the UK if he travels. The money laundry offense was committed in the UK, he was arrested, detained and he jumped bail, he still has a case to answer, ibor was let free by Nigeria Govt but was arrested in Dubai, brought back to the UK and jailed for the same case he was let-off by Nigeria Govt. So your analysis doesn't quite add-up

negrakitty: He says that when he was detained they took his fingerprints. Which stopped him from picking up a work visa he'd gotten in Nigeria the whole reason why he went in the first place on fake ID ffs!!...so worried same issue might crop up again. We have not yet gotten married so not yet applied for the spousal visa so not mentioned prior applications. In his other two applications he certainly did not mention them.
Its not looking good for him, his previous immigration profile will always crop up anytime he applies for any sort of visa, he can't hide that. If you finally got married and want to apply for spouse visa he will be better off doing that from Nigeria and be completely honest with his past immigration offences, there is no point hiding it when the embassy can easily find out anyway. Applying for any sort of visa from the UK doesn't make any sense considering his status and past record, the UKBA will frustrate him with refusals and decision delay. The only slim hope he has is through spouse visa but he has to come out clean.

negrakitty: My boyfriend has overstayed in the UK by a few years. He was once caught as he used a fake ID to travel back to Naija, detained and then sent back. He managed to make his way back in. Am seriously worried after looking at the UKBA spousal visa application site that his overstay and prior deportation means he's ineligible. Also looking through this thread worried as he has made two prior applications for stay - which we're yet to hear anything on. As we're in love and getting impatient at him not being able to legally work or travel want to get married. I meet the other requirements in terms of being a Brit citizen, earn above the threshold etc. This issue of his prior deportation/applications - under different names - is something which I would poss seek to not disclose in our application but it seems that they now do biometric visas for spouses who are granted stays. Worried that this is where he could be caught out as when your deported they usually take your fingerprints and picture. His one saving grace is that he went voluntarily and paid for his ticket home. Any guidance on what where we could stand in regards to this would be much appreciated. Is the biometric issue as big a deal as I think it could be? Would think they have a database that they double-check peoples data against? If it is an issue does anyone know if our application could still be successful? If it could still be successful should he be totally honest with every single application he's done in the past? Or will they find him out? Sorry for all the qs but something thought might not be too complicated seems like it could be and getting seriously freaked out! undecided
Has his fingerprint ever been taken by immigration or the police before? Did he disclose his previous immigration offenses in the application form?

Seriously an academy in the UK contacted you directly and offered you a trail? Not through your agent or current club?

If truly an academy invited you for a trail in the UK then your agent or current club will do all the visa paper-work for you.

The paper they used for the finger print says for imigration/visa fingerprint with the metrpolitan letter head. Do you think it will matter?? I paid £20 for mine, the letterhead is ok, nothing wrong with that at all.

amykelly: Hi Justwise, you were sooo right o! The embassy didnt mention anything about a letter. All they siad was that I should pay 15 pounds for postal order to Nigeria and 10 pounds postal order for administration fees for the Police certificate. I went to the embassy today and they said they have mailed me the letter. I got the finger prints done at the Police station and I didnt need a letter from the Embassy. They did the finger prints on their own police paper afterwards I went to the embassy and realised that they were about to send me to the police station with a letter I didnt even need. The lady at the embassy said its my problem from here that I should look for a way to send it to Nigeria.
Yes..tried that couple of year ago they charged me £15 for the letter i took to police station for fingerprint then sent the fingerprint paper to my brother in Nigeria who then went to CID to get the CRC done and post it back to me. It was a long stressful thing, if you have somebody who can do it quicker for you in Nigeria then it will take less time
