MRbrownJAY: ^^^^ i think yes and no, because their whole problem is that Ham signed his contract before the economic crisis etc......... and now that there isnt as much cheddar as there was before, they expect someone who "supposedly" stands by the team, to take that pay cut in order for the team to still have that financial edge over the second rated teams.

they DID believe in Ham, but probably believed even stronger about the car they have.

i think that Ham had lost his belief in the team and thats why he also left....... he needed some confidence boost as it was definitely NOT going his way for the last few yrs. yes he won races etc, but its all about being world champion and he could never reproduce that with the car that MC Laren is handing over to him........and now that all other teams are catching up, he can take a gamble like that (if he fails miserably next yr, RBR will be there to rescue him from his misery)
Mercedes is bringing in a whole lot of changes to their car next season with the man who spearheaded Schumacher's run of victories yrs ago. McLaren has failed in recent yrs to give LH a winning car, is either they screw up in pit-stop or gear-box like what happened in last race. He really need a break from the familiar environment to a place he will start afresh again with a renewed spirit.

MRbrownJAY: ^^^^ even it may look otherwise, hasnt Ham always been the #1 driver at Mc Laren?!

yeah but Mc Laren wanted to reduce his fee, so 15Milla + sponshoriship and endorsement is quite much.
Yes when i heard 15M i thought.... what is the point of leaving a team of 13 good years but asking a professional driver to sign a new contract with less pay is another way of saying.....we don't want you anymore.
Sports › Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by justwise(m): 11:14am On Sep 28, 2012
MRbrownJAY: you are right, let each go their separate ways.....but how much is that contract at Mercedes? any idea? it only says that it is better than the one MC Laren was offering.
Not that different from what he was earning in McLaren, about 15M but he will earn more in sponsorship and endorsement
Sports › Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by justwise(m): 11:01am On Sep 28, 2012
^^^ they knew he will be leaving, why should he take a pay cut to stay? Or sign a new contract without any improved offer? I hope Mercedes get him a good car next season, though i would have preferred he stayed.

Vicjustice: I thought he said his company is sending him to study...
But, there is no such option in Visa Type, he first has to chose the "Type Of Visa" before selecting the Purpose Of Application and then, the "Type Of Application": only then can he chose Business Visit
So, i recommend he chooses Visit
These are the categories available for "Type Of Visa"
Exempt
Other
Settlement
Study
Transit
Visit
Work
Under business visitors visa there are many options ......you will see one that stated......Person undertaking specific, one-off training
The training must be:

provided by your employer (or one of its UK branches); and
delivered in techniques and work practices used in the UK, provided this is not on-the job training.

Msauza: I might be wrong about the dates but what does it tell you about independence of SA. I repeat myself again 1994 marks the freedom day and not the independence day. South Africa had always been independent from colonial rule even during apartheid era. We as blacks we were fighting for our freedom and not independence. Independence from who because SA was not under Britain by then? We fought for FREEDOM. AMANDLA, VIVA ANC VIVA!!! VIVA communists VIVA, Ekhongolose
Yes your date is wrong and you should get your facts right before calling me names.
Politics › Re: Mark Begs Britain To Assist Nigeria On Insecurity by justwise(m): 12:27am On Sep 28, 2012
Msauza: Justwise let me teach u politics- any country can still be independent from colonial rule, but still a number of people from that country continue to be oppressed by another, either on the basis of culture, sex, religion, tribe or colour. This is evident of Sudan which became independent many years ago, where the South(black) was oppressed by the North( Arabic origin). Same as in Rwanda where the tutsis oppressed the hutus. Same as South Africa which became independent many years ago, but still whites which were in power oppressed blacks. Another one to follow is Nigeria, where the North always appears to overpower the South during presidential elections.
I don't need random history lecture, not interested in some useless rants from you, South African independent day is not 31st May 1960 as you claimed before. You really know about your country indeed.
Politics › Re: Mark Begs Britain To Assist Nigeria On Insecurity by justwise(m): 12:00am On Sep 28, 2012
Msauza: U know nothing about South Africa. You are the one who is embarrassing himself. I'm a South African and you don't tell me about my history. 27th April 1994 is a freedom day not an independence day. 31st May 1960 is the day of independence of South Africa when it officially became a Republic. You slowpoke just google it and don't just chase after shadows. Under colonial rule SA was a union after the british won the Boers (Afrikaners) in an Anglo-Boer2 in 1899-1901, where in the British won after having lost the first Anglo-Boer war which was around 1850's.

After the English won the war that's when they started to colonise SA after hijacking it from the Boers (White SAfricans). Remember the Boers consider themselves as citizens of SA (Settlers), that's why they have been ther before the invasion of the British in SA. The Boers fought the British to defend SA from being colonised and they won the first war. From today u must know that 1994 marks freedom day of SA and not independence day. Stop telling people lies. Even under apartheid SA was independent, it was called Republic of SA, understood? The Boers are as well citizens of SA, they were as well colonised from 1901-1960. I hate people who distort history of other countries, if you want to know history of RSA just google it or go to library, that is if they are available where you live. Gudbye!!!
Being a South African does not mean that you know a lot about your country....

http://www.123independenceday.com/south-africa/

Though South Africa achieved independence from Britain on 31 May, 1910, Freedom Day is the official Independence Day of South Africa. It is celebrated on 27th of April every year and commemorates the first democratic, non racial elections held in 1994. As the official independence day of South Africa, Freedom Day is celebrated to pay tribute to all those men and women who have made relentless efforts and sacrifices on behalf of the oppressed masses.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_national_independence_days

Independence from the United Kingdom in 1931. Not a public holiday. Union of South Africa formed on May 31, 1910 and Republic of South Africa declared on May 31, 1961 and gained independence under minority rule in 1994 after apartheid

A South African who know nothing about his country.

bleufaucon: Despite all this, many will continue to participate in these so called elections that are evidently criminal, only to the wise, and refuse to unite against these anti-human leaders. Stop hating one another and unite cos the black race is nearing extinction. Mark and many other apathetic rulers, past and present, have complex problems, all educated by the same colonial Masters, will always do their slave master's biddings. Chaos is all around us now..our children are being brainwashed daily by western styled educational principles, foreigners are buying up our lands. Our food is processed with dangerous chemicals so as to debilitate the health of the people even further. Chemtrails are sprayed in our skies to control the weather to cause environmental instability. But the gullible prefer to be complacent. How sad!!
Another junk of garbage and silly conspiracy theory. People will not stop spreading all sorts of nonsense.

Their questions are random, just take your CAS letter and bank statement, its nothing to worry about, if they ask at all it will be your course related and maybe your plans after graduation.
Politics › Re: Mark Begs Britain To Assist Nigeria On Insecurity by justwise(m): 10:18pm On Sep 27, 2012
Msauza: Point of correction chief. South Africa got her independence before Nigeria on the 31st May of 1960. The year 1994 marks SA's first democratic elections where black and whites were equally enfranchised and not independence day. Apartheid was abolished around 1986 and Nelson Mandela was released in Prison on the 11th Feb 1990. Black SA gained their freedom immediately after ANC came into power on the 27th Apr of 1994 when Madiba became the first democratically elected president of RSA. Get your facts right Mr and next time do not write of anything unless you have done thorough research about the subject.
Stop embarrassing yourself, officially apartheid era ended April 1994 and that is the day South African recognized as independent day, that is the year they were completely free from white minority rule.

dasparrow: You see now. I hope all Nigerians and Africans get to read this. I am just speechless because I am pained. My generation and future generations suffered and will continue to suffer because of what this evil British heifers did. Our leaders continue to kiss the azz of the Americans and British. You have Nigerians that will go as far as defend these westerners with their last breath yet will never defend their own country or citizens. My soul weeps. Look at where we are now. We have many young Nigerians looking to flee to the western world daily where we get mocked, insulted, looked down upon, ridiculed, discriminated against and striped off our dignity when we could have had a great nation where our people will feel happy and fulfilled and would never want to migrate abroad permanently.

I will keep praying for Nigeria and Africa as a whole. We must rise again but that can only happen if Nigerians have a change in mindset and stop carrying about with them this unnecessary feeling of inferiority complex. Once we become great again, other nations will respect us and stop treating us like trash. When the western and Arab world begins to see that we are not interested in their visas anymore, they will be the ones crawling on all fours begging to give us visas. It shall be well with us Nigerians.
How much does Nigerian leaders love and care for you? Since we got independent what has changed?

Nigeria got her independent in 1960 and South Africa 1994..can you compare both even with Nigerian natural resources?

I can't stand hypocrites like you, blaming everybody else for our problems apart from our thieving politicians.

Nigeria is not the only country colonized in Africa, Ghana, South Africa, Egypt and many others were all colonized but why are we struggling?

Donxavier: Justwise

You were so right about internships and volunteering being the quickest and easiest way to get a job after studies. Today I had a lengthy discussion with my lecturer on almost everything and he completely alluded to what you said. I remember saying in one of the threads that the UK experience(By that I mean internships and Volunteer work) wasn't all that necessary and this was because that's what my cousin told me. He's been in London now over 6 years and is very brilliant. He only did part time work as a security man when he came and finished with distinction. He got a job straight away at BP after masters and he didn't do any internship or security work.So I just felt he should know better.

Anyway, Im working on getting internships now grin grin grin
People's experiences differs, but internship or volunteering can only be a positive thing on your CV. If you have internship attached to your Msc then go for it though not all universities have internship as part of their Msc.

Student unions do have some volunteering programs (unpaid) but it sometimes lead to paid part time job.

premp: Hi, i just applied for my Student visa extension which i may get for one year, now while my passport is away with my application, it might take a long time to return, till then, if i have to work part-time somewhere, i think i will need a visa or passport to show to the employer, but since the passport is away, can i show the employer any other document or what is the solution to this?
Tricky one for you, some employers will accept the acknowledge letter which UKBA sends when you apply for a visa, a copy of your passport, student ID and a letter from your school indicating that you are their student while some will insist that you present your passport and visa.

It really depend on the employer.
