You are living in his house and ain't greeting him, damn that's wrong.

Force out the greeting, have you heard of salutation is not love.

Greeting him should be done perfunctorily and make arrangements to move out as absence makes the heart grow fonder.
That's the only place the OP is getting it wrong.

No matter how bad your parents are, you should respect them, especially when you are still under their care.

A lot of parents are bad at parenting sha.

I don’t know what you’ve heard, but I tell you that presently in Nigeria tech space, apart from Andela, Decagon products are the best out there. And that’s because it’s still young. In the next few years, there won’t be anywhere you go to in Africa tech space that you won’t find Decagon products doing greatly.
They aren't.

If you say they are one of the best, I'd agree.

The only thing they offer I like is the reputation the company has, it'll help with job interviews.

Stutern and HNG graduates are getting internship role at foreign companies, mind you, HNG is free. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Imagine starting your career with debt to pay.
I don't like that.

Me, I prefer Stutern, HNG and the likes.

Personally, decagon is not worth it from what I have heard about them.

Most people eventually gets to this stage.

For some, at age 8, some 16, some 18 and some later in their life.

Sadly, some never get to this stage.

First it was Twitter, now it Toyota.

They are not improving the economy, they won't give a welcoming arm to those that will improve it.

Innoson and Toyota have different market.

How many Innoson vehicles do we have on the street? Innoson target is the elites and government. Toyota is for the common man.

Buy .edu.ng domain since its cheaper
Bill him 30k then he will likely negotiate down to 20k try to accept it since its your first time

And .edu.ng requires the school's license
Which kain advice be this?

OP, if you do it for this amount, thunder will fire you!

Ask for his budget.

I personally don't know how to charge client, but my range for a school software will be 300k - 700k.

If he's making 2 websites, then he should be ready to pay more.

Find out the number of student/pupils he has and how much they pay per term. From there, you can come up with a reasonable price.

Do it well sha.

So if you know this, then why argue on the op's stand on Engineering not being a good course for student from poor homes In Nigeria?

For me, some engineering courses are way better than studying MASS FONICATION COMMUNICATION cheesy , POLITICAL SCIENCE, bunch of other uselless commercial courses.
You dey mind them. cheesy

They just want to argue for the sake of it.

They even talk as if most people will get the good grades. In reality, most people will are average and below. How then do you want them to gain admission to study medical courses with this so much gate keeping in the medical line?

My advice to average people from poor/average homes is to look around, find a skill/course that makes people money, especially in Nigeria, especially people that are just going into such career and make your choice.
Education › Re: Courses That Should Be Avoided By Nigerians From Poor Families. by Karleb(m): 7:46pm On Jun 29, 2021
Nigeria is a dream killer.

If you are from a poor home and average, it's better you open your eyes and ears.

Trust me, many who had higher hopes are now learning tailoring after graduation.

Some have been teaching on a salary of 30k for more than 5 years now.

in the u.s you can do ur phd without msc. there are tonnes of scholarship and G.A right there. jst get gud grades!

by d words of d naysayers here!
Be realistic!

If 200 people apply for the so called scholarship, how many will get it? Even at P. hD level?

Mind you, 200 is like the average of graduates in each departments in most higher institutions in Nigeria.

How many people will have the so called good grades? Roughly about 70 percent of graduates have 2.2 and below.

Whereas there are courses you can study that'll guarantee a job with decent pay immediately after graduating, for some, even before graduation regardless of the your grade.

That's my problem with most of these programmers, most especially nl programmers. And if you're reading this comment remember this, schools weren't established for job seekers, they were established for knowledge seekers. The only thing schools can promise you is a certificate after completing your school education but they aren't promising you a job.
Of what use is the knowledge that can't put food in your mouth?

The OP knows very little about engineering, his view is myopic.

Just last week one of my mentor got a PhD schorlarship to do research in material science. She has a master degree in mechanical engineering.

Op thinks engineering is all about programming and artificial intelligence.

I have huge interest in sustainable energy, computational fluid dynamics(aerodynamics, turbulence and combustion), hvacs and thermal behavior of buildings. A first degree in mechanical engineering is one of the best decision of my life.

All engineering courses has equal chances when it comes to traveling out.
You people don't understand the essence of this thread.

For one, let me ask, when did you graduate? How many of your colleagues are now mechanical engineering practitioners?

Of course, a fellow with a P. hD can get a scholarship, but what are the chances of a fellow with B. Sc?

On what do you survive before you even think of going for M. Sc especially when you are from a poor home?

Can this B. Sc fetch you a job with decent pay in your career path in Enugu, Kano or Akure?

Even if you got lucky, how about your colleagues who are over 200 in numbers? How about the ones that graduated before or after you?

While in other career path, people are getting more than enough to do with decent compensation.

That is the essence of the thread.

I would say you should go for computer science. I don't know much about computer engineering but most software engineers studied computer science.

I think computer engineering deals more with the hardware parts of computer. So you'd be borrowing courses from EE dept.

As a computer scientist, you'd surely do a lot of mathematics, even if you won't, who cares about what you love?

Many of us are in predicament today because we studied for passion rather than money.

Follow money, when you have enough of it, you can go after passion.
