God doesn't come down to give good people the good things of life, but he certainly did not say that we should take payment in His name from those we lead to the light either.

Though the bible didnt say they should demand payment howerver the bible is replete with advice from Jesus and Paul to receive wages and reward from those they teach.....

In luke 10 Jesus sent his disciples to preach and told them to take nothing but eat in whatever house they find themselves because a labourer is worthy of his hire...

Apostle Paul wrote a letter in 1cor9 telling them that if he sows spiritual things to them then he should be able to reap material things from them...

The bibles position is that pastors get paid by the flock.

The risk of this position is extortion and manipulation of the flock by wolves but it doesnt change the fact that this is the bible's position

All that aside......give us the list of anti christ statements so we can judge for ourselves and hold onto that which is true....

On February 6 of this year, I put up a three-part series of articles titled, "15 Errors Of A Self-Styled Apostle Called Joshua Selman."

Although, I painstakingly refuted the lies of Joshua Selman by mostly appealing to the scriptures, not a few of his fans, many of whom were probably still wearing diapers when I was already an adult, reacted angrily and rudely. Most of them could not make even the feeblest attempts to disprove my points.

And the polite ones among them tried to convince me that he was not all bad but had preached some sound sermons also.

This is the kind of love that young people have for Joshua Selman, a dangerous human weapon unleashed on the church by Satan. The love they have for this man trumps the one they have for God and His sound doctrines.

But why are his followers, who are mostly youths the supposed leaders of tomorrow, obsessed with this man who has many times demonstrated in a number of his teachings that he is carrying out an Antichrist agenda? Why can't they see what God has made some of us to see? Reason: he has a few strategies which are very appealing.

1. Charisma

Give it to him, Selman is physically good-looking. He has a magnetic presence. He has a good command of English. He dresses well. He is not some illiterate village preacher with a staid appearance. He is that kind of person who stands out in a crowd. He is the man, no, the rave of the moment. But are these the qualities that make a genuine preacher? No, sir.

The Bible says in Proverbs 31:30A; " Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain."

2. Sophistry

Sophistry is an argument that seems valid but truly fallacious or misleading. I do not know any preacher that employs sophistry more than Selman. He would pick a Bible verse or story, ignore the context, create his own context, give an interpretation and make an application that fits his agenda of deception. Sometimes, he would say things that leave you with no choice but to conclude that he is an enemy of the cross.

Permit me to share an example of this by quoting from one of my articles about him.

Prosperity played a role in salvation. It took prosperity and Influence for salvation to come- Selman.

"This is the blindest and most blasphemous of the utterances made by Selman. In making a case for his perverted prosperity gospel, Selman says angels couldn't bring Jesus down from the cross. It was Joseph of Arimathea, a man of influence and prosperity that could reach the governor to demand the body of Christ.

"The implication of this most foolish statement is that Joseph played a role in our salvation. Joseph's influence and prosperity made our salvation complete. Jesus would have remained on the cross and may not have resurrected. Joseph helped Jesus to fulfill His plan of redemption. Joseph is now our Deputy Saviour.

"In reality, Joseph was just a lover of Jesus who thought to give him a "befitting" burial. He was not more special or more relevant than the women who went with spices to his grave to anoint his body. If Joseph was not available, Jesus would still have resurrected.

"Would it make sense to say virginity played a role in our salvation because Mary His earthly mother got pregnant with him when she was a virgin?

"Selman is treading on a dangerous ground. Somebody should tell him."

3. Oratory

There is nothing bad in God's natural gift of oratory. It only becomes corrupted when it is used to serve Satanic ends. Selman has a way with words. He knows how to artfully string simple words to make them sound pleasant to the ears. He speaks authoritatively on issues. But when his words are scripturally scrutinised, they are just hollow. They are absolute rubbish.

4. Self-concocted mysteries

Selman has a fertile imagination. If he had deployed that gift into fiction writing, he would most probably have written a few bestseller novels. What he, however, does is that he wickedly manipulates the scriptures and then weaves them into his own invented doctrines. Selman says there are times the personal faith of a believer will not suffice, so they need to operate in the special covenant a "higher" believer has with God to get a breakthrough. FICTION!

In the Bible there are only two covenants God has had with men; the abolished old testament and the new covenant God has with his saints which is sealed with the blood of Jesus. Some people might say, Selman's teaching is just an innocent error. No.

Let me tell you the implication. The Devil is using Selman to convince New Testament saints that their personal salvation is not enough. He is teaching them not only to look unto Jesus the author and finisher of their faith but also the supposed fathers of faith. He is teaching believers to fall into idolatry.

Selman, in a video, said, Lagos and Abeokuta were special in the spiritual realms, hence, anyone in Nigeria whose feet had not touched those two cities would not be recognised globally. FICTION!

Aside from this being an unscriptural lie, how does this statement have anything to do with preaching Christ and His finished work? As believers, Is achieving global fame our aim on earth? Why are Selman and his fellow liars so obsessed with wealth and fame?

5. Fake deep spiritual understanding

As Selman bedazzles his awestruck listeners and fans about talks of realms, mysteries and kingdom wealth transfer, he assumes the figure of one who has been given a rare capacity to understand and unravel hidden spiritual secrets. But in truth, he only employs verbosity, sophistry and circumlocution to give a sense of depth to his very shallow and mindbogglingly heretical teachings.

6. Blend of truth and falsehood

In defence of Selman, there are people who admit that though he is sometimes wrong, he also teaches sound doctrines. This argument seems plausible but only on the surface. It is true that many of us ( including this writer) have made doctrinal mistakes. But when the doctrinal error is one that affects the core of the Christian faith and such is taught by a preacher repeatedly; when the ungodly mindset of a preacher seeps through his sermons; when the gospel and its consequential truths are regularly manipulated by a preacher; when a preacher's doctrines subtly or directly exalt man above God; when a preacher with his teachings pokes his hands in God's face, then he becomes a weapon in the hands of Satan.

A preacher who blends a little truth with toxic falsehood, is more dangerous than the one who teaches only lies.

Selman is inarguably the most dangerous religious weapon in Nigeria now because there is no other preacher ( genuine and false) who has a greater hold on the hearts of young people like him. Like I said, in one of my earlier posts, he is the one being used by Satan to produce a new generation of Antichrists.

While I pray that God deliver as many as He would among these youths from the Selmanic stronghold ( stranglehold), I also exhort brethren whom God is using to draw our hearts to Him, not to keep quiet.

We must keep on denouncing evil. And we must increase our efforts in teaching sound doctrines.

So british and other europeans people migrated to America and were subject to the crown of England. One day they got up and said "down with the king" fought for their independence from those people that feel they are sitting on God's throne and America is still flourishing today...

The british turned their monarchy into a mere figure head gently and gradually the parliament usurped the powers of the crown and because the crown was powerless there was no need for a bloody revolution....

Schools have been shut totally since end of March but you don't see academics calling it persecution.

People spend all their lives on earth without religion and their lives on earth are perfectly okay

No one goes through the earth without taking any form of medications viz drugs, immunization ,medical creams, herbal medications, herbs and roots and different forms of medical intervention.

If you have spent all the years of your life so far without medical intervention of any form then you have my utmost respect. I salute you and agree the health care is not essential in your life.

If the church was essential non christian nations will be dead, dying, sick, poor, economically and politically backward useless places....

Non christians will be sick, poor, disease ridden.....etc

The fact that all these things happen without the church means its not essential to life....

Ofcourse it can be essential to you and that is fine. You have the right to enjoy everything you deem essential to you......but you cannot force the world to value the things you value.

Afterall some people value cocaine and marijuana and the government doesnt care. They still banned them

You say this because you are an unbeliever. A Christian does not think that way. Church is a vital part of life and priority for a Christian. Fortunately, we've been able to have fellowship using other means like home cells, online, radio and TV. So the church marches on. That you call it half truth proves that you saw truth in it. Your complement of clubs and brothels is what is skewed. Even those who visit such places don't plaçe it at par with church.
If you can spend 10hours daily mingling in the market, bus and work. Nothing should stop social distance with mask and sanitizer for 3hrs in church once a week or even daily.

Its one thing to defend your views. Its normal and regular but to promote your personal views and defence as THE TRUTH is deceitful.....

I expect any christian to hold your views.....Why should the government prevent me from going to church? Who gave them that power? Dont i have the right to do what i like? Is this a military regime?

Its good to fight for your rights. Its good to fight for what you believe in. We all should....

But claiming that the lockdown is an agenda to destroy the church is just deceitful...... The muslims can say the same thing and protest too..... Then the club bangers and prostitutes can also claim its an agenda against them. That Buhari wants to turn Nigeria into an islamic country free from immorality....

We should always be willing and able to tell the difference between what we are fighting for and the TRUTH.

i don't know about and cannot speak for TB and pastor Chris. But the other two still join na. Holiday no be forever, e dey end. Oyedepo's point is clear and common sense. You should not let people go every other place and do every other thing except church. Except you have an agenda, it makes no sense. There's no social distance or whatever in the market, bus, place of work where everyone is spending hours daily. So is it 3 or 4 hours in organised church with ushers and co that corona will catch you? It's common sense.
Do lockdown with sense,not just punishing people for your ineptitude and copying America and Europe. Ease lockdown with sense too, simple.

The government also shut down night clubs,ashawo houses and all those shows by naira marley and other artists which are all said to promote vices.....drinking, immorality, illicit sex....

Half truths are worse than lies....because lies can be detected easily but......

Mosques churches schools, nysc orientation camps ,clubs ,ashawo houses, parties...... have all been shut down for the same reason. They are not essential to life and economy.

All these half truth propaganda is not helping matters....

Covid can spread in the church and mosque as well as market....but if it spreads in the market we can say.....i would rather die of covid than hunger..... CAN YOU SAY THE SAME OF A CHURCH? OR CLUB? OR MOSQUE? OR BROTHEL?

Churches and mosques and schools and night clubs and general social gatherings like the one naira marley and the flight company got into trouble for.....

The government made a list of priorities essential for human life such as food and money.

Wonderful as religion is. Humans will not die without it. At worst they will go to hell and the government doesnt base decisions on their spiritual values but rather physical.

No. The bible was clear. Love is to keep his commandments and his commandments are not too grievous for us.

Which means you can believe God, trust God, work for God.....but if you cant give up "everything and anything" just to keep his commandments then the bible rules that you dont love him.

Loving God is about what you are willing to do for him.

I have tried to pray on my own without praying in the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues), the longest I could pray was 30 mins. As a believer, if you really want to pray with understanding and stay long in prayers - involve the Holy Spirit to enable you pray in Tongues....

For the second question; If God actually said so it may mean that the person was unable to attain the right stature and maturity to be effective in ministry.

Such a person will enter ministry and fall into diverse temptations; women coming for counselling, deceiving people for money, embezzling funds...

God would rather keep such a person out of ministry instead of him to go in and destroy his life.

Apostle Paul gave many criteria for appointing bishops and leaders because its possible for an immature and unprepared person to enter ministry and ruin both his life and the work of God.

The bible is explicit; if you love me keep my commandments.

A person that continues to deliberately go against the wishes of God cannot claim to Love and fear God.

Love is sacrificial. Love should move a person to make sacrifices for others. The sacrificial proof of the love of God is to keep his commandments.


But a person can believe God, trust God and even make many sacrifices for God; evangelism, church, kingdom financing and still not be willing to give up certain things for God.

Thats irresponsibility but it doesnt change the fact that the person believes in God.

Jonah balak solomon were people who knew God very personally but still chose to disobey God because they just couldnt give up certain aspects of their lives for God.

Love cannot be perfectly assessed when the person wants something such as money, sex or marriage.....

The government isnt providing jobs but if investors like shoprite dstv and other foreigners invest in nigeria we go see work do.

Now everyone is scared of doing business with nigerians so we wont see jobs from the government and we wont see jobs from investors. But many people are too stupid to realise this

If its about personally serving God. Comedy is not a sin, Non-christian songs are only bad when they promote ungodly values.

But God sometimes consecrates people differently to prepare them for separate tasks and lifestyles.

God gave John the baptist so many strange rules to separate him

If God wants to separate you from comedy, you will have to be sure its God speaking and not your mind and indoctrination about what is right and wrong

Apostle Paul was a preacher and worked as a tent maker. You can work and still work for God.

Gleanings from various men of God seem to show that they usually start ministry while still doing normal work until God tells them to focus totally on ministry. And that is between you and God.

To be fair sha i dont think comedy will boost your career as a minister of the gospel.... unless somehow your jokes and skits point people to God.

Its no sin but i may not add positively to a preaching ministry. It may add to a drama ministry though
