No one blames Ecowas when things are bad? has Nigeria ever complained to ecowas? this is a trade issue, not some village meeting.

if as a country you feel that neighbors and unscrupulous people are smuggling goods into the nation, its the countries duty to let the body know.to find the best solution to solve it,

there are countries that are not aware of the development. it would be fair to let them know to give them a timeline to make necessary adjustments and also punish the defaulting counties to ensure the goals that bind all the nations together in trade come to reality,

You don't stiff trade in the guise of curbing smuggling, this is an issue suffered by nations across the world. no one is exempted. so you find ways that will create a balance.

Nigeria is creating so many enemies. if they put restrictions on your products do you know it will affect Nigeria and its position in the region? do you know there is a big vacuum of supply in trade in west Africa because Nigerians cant export to other nations via the land border? do you think the tasde routes will br waiting fo your whenever you feel like opening the borders?

Your points are valid under the assumption that nigeria actually exports anything....

Our exports are not much.....thats why the government is bold enough to do this. We are a consumer nation so closed borders hurts our neighbours much more than it will ever hurt us

Our natural resource is our population......one-sixth of Africa is in Nigeria.....its high time we started arm twisting n milking other nations with this gift.

We dont need to be fair or nice to our neighbours. We just need to make it big. America has bleeped up so many countries in the world left right centre and they are still respected.

I MAKE BOLD TO STATE HERE THAT THERE IS NO NEED FOR THE BORDER CLOSURE.

The border closure is a violation of the ECOWAS TREATY on free movement of goods and services across the west african region signed by Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic and some other west african states.

The federal government should find out what is making our produce or products less competitive in the market and find solutions to it.

Why is the federal government starting what they can not finish.

What happen in 3 years time when the present leadership vacates the presidency?

Ecowas has nothing to do with the dearth of the Nigerian Economy. We destroyed it ourselves with vision-less myopic and useless leaders.

We are incompetent and myopic. YES! Maybe one day we will have good leaders. But right now the nigerian people should not continue to suffer for our incompetence alone. Lets share the burden with Benin Niger and Ghana.

Nigeria is bad! Nigeria is bad! Nigerians are poor and suffering but ecowas is feeding fat and growing rich from trading in Nigeria. Because Nigeria is the biggest market in Africa.

Dude no man is an island on its own. Falana is right. Nigerian farmers can't feed a nation of 200million. We need to trade. Border closure is definitely not the way and its adverse effect in the long run can be disastrous for all countries involved.

Nigeria is the biggest market for Africa. 1 in every 6 Africans is a nigerian.

Every ECOWAS free trade agreement will always favour our neighbours more than us. Nigeria is barely able to produce enough of anything for our 200million population, talkless of exportation.

Our major export is oil.....and these poor west african countries dont buy unrefined oil. So we dont need them too much in trade.

We cant be playing the big brother while our economy and people continue to suffer. Thats fooloshness...

Story. There's no way this move wouldn't have a multiplier effect. The idea of bringing back the toll gate to raise revenue is much better because road users need to also show a sense of belonging. You can imagine the likes of God is Good Motors, Dangote Trucks, Peace Transport, GUO etc with thousands of their vehicles plying Nigerian roads daily for free...their daily toll would be in millions of naira. I understand they pay taxes to the fed and respective state govts as registered companies, they also pay staff salary. In same vein, I pay all these Bills too and if I can bay a toll, they should do the same, likewisebevery other individual. But the levy should be moderately charged. Vat would shoot up unemployment and inflation, directly or indirectly. If our govt was sincere enough, they should have taxed the rich the more and not the poor they're meant to defend. Yeye govt in power.

The toll gate fee will be paid by the masses by increasing transport fare.

Do you think any sensible company will pay VAT? Haba....they will either increase the price of goods and services or sack workers.

The struggling masses will pay the vat and the toll gate fee.

The system is failing but it is wickedness for the poor masses to make the sacrifices that will support the extravagant lifestyle of the ruling class.

Vat, toll gate, removal of subsidy will all raise funds. But what are we suffering raising funds for? For our politicians to drive prado jeeps? For billions to be allocated to special advisers?

If all the monies used to buy jeeps for polical leaders from local government to federal level is put together wont it raise similar funds to VAT and toll gate?

I will advise you learn basic web design and development first..... Computer repair is not a soft skill.... U won't be able to get clients computer for repairs since people prefer companies.... But u can create a course on it and sell... For those who want to learn...
Computer networking.... Must be remote work.. it depends on what you are doing... Are you testing the network or evaluating it....

But u need soft skills... Web design and development is okay ...

The governor is trying... we can't say we're entirely happy with him, but we have to be honest and admit there are things moving.

We find it easy to lash out at the FG and encourage our leaders on mediocrity and rubbish. Its not surprising people of this state worship Ibori.

If deltans told their leaders the truth the state may have been better by now but no! We celebrate crumbs.....forgetting that its our money not the governor's own.

Lets hold our governors accountable. This selective blame on the FG is ruining this country...

Whenever the niger deltans blame the FG and blow up oil installations, more money is given to the oil producing states.....but the money never gets to the people cos the governors n leaders of the region hijack the money......but the people wont blame their precious leaders....never.....

So they blame the FG again and more money is given to the region and the regional leaders hijack it again.....and the cycle continues....

Right now the Niger delta governors get so much allocation that everyone is left dumbfounded......but the people continue to blame the FG instead of their leaders.....

If EFCC picks the governors we will cry witch hunt....infact right now the governors are sooo relaxed. They dont care cos they know they are leading foolish people.....

Nigeria's allocation is shared about 52% to FG and 48% to states. Your state leaders should atleast get half the blame for the unemployment poverty and lack of development in the states

And with the current sharing of political power in the country PDP atleast gets 40percent of the blame allocated to poverty in the states
