Internal failure. The reverse and L share some holding parts. They will usually fail together most times.

Have you scanned? For sure, ABS fault can cause what you are experiencing. Have it fixed and see if it does not go away.

My Car.. a Mazda 626 1998 model started giving problems about 2 weeks ago. It will change to the second gear from the first with a jerk and the overdrive light will start blinking. I did an oil flush and had the mechanic clean the filter but the problem still persists. I'm yet to scan though. Please help!

ATF change does not fix problems. Go for diagnosis

I have a Toyota Corolla 2005 with 1ZZ engine and automatic transmission. Two days ago while driving home from work, I noticed that the car was revving high but the speed was not proportionate to the sound from the engine.

I slowed down and noticed there was a jerk from the drive shaft and a sudden change in the gear system. The car was stuck on gear two.

Now, the car doesn't move beyond gear three, it'll manage to get to gear three but it disengages itself after a short while.

What could be the possible problem and what I do? I checked my oil and it's intact. I've driven it for about 2600km since the last time changed in May this year.

I intend visiting a mechanic tomorrow Monday but I want to have an idea of what could be the problem and possibly the cost implications.

In addition to what have been said, make sure your tyres are of the same size and pressure.

Have you scanned? Sure car is not in limp mode? You should be able to reach me now.

The reason I posted that picture is for you to see many components that could be your problem, and not just those two. I don't know how he serviced the solenoids (he may have just connected them to battery to click, which many times is not enough).

Again, you could be having electrical issue. What you described is a system-wide problem, meaning a major denominator (something that affects all clutches) is the culprit. Could be ECU, cable, CPC solenoid(s), sensor, ground etc.

What your tech did was simply not enough. That's the point. Let him diagnose further. He should command shifts manually and see what happens. Good luck.

Was it scanned? You are likely having troubles with your pressure switches and/or solenoids. It could also be external.

VIN = Vehicle Identification Number. It is your vehicle's DNA (17 alphanumeric characters). I need it to ID your vehicle but if you dont have it, provide vehicle details - model, year, engine.

Meanwhile, you are not having a transmission issue. Scan, but I would start my troubleshooting with you MAF.

Please can somebody help with this. My 2002 Honda Odyssey jerks when ever it wants to change gear and sometimes after jerking it will change gear. Sometimes you need to remove your leg from the gas pedal before it will change gear. Please anybody knows what the problem is?

I need your help. I have Toyota Camry 2005 with 13pin gear.
The issue start this way. I discovered the ATF was leaking under the car and my mechanic told me that we need a transmission technician to check than the transmission oil is already low. (But the car is still working fine)
I contacted one around and the guy told me that he need to change the pump and the oil. Since the transmission oil level is already low he suggested we add oil for him to take it to his workshop so he buy Abro oil.
Now the guy has change the pump and the oil. He claim he used recommend Toyota transmission oil.
The problem now is that gear will work fine when the car is cool but only the reverses gear work when the transmission is Hot.
Presently the car can't move long distance.
Please your advise is highly needed

A couple of things could be responsible for a no forward movement when hot, but most times comes from a clogged filter. You start driving and the clutch materials start to gather at the filter intake side. This continues until it is completely blocked, and cant breath anymore. You allow it some time, and the materials drop; the cycle starts again.

Another could be sticking valves and/or solenoids.

With your case, are you sure you don't have a defective pump installed? Why would he replace your pump instead of the seal? The only way to confirm this is to hook up a gauge at the ports and see what you have.

Note he said engine stalling at stops, lights going off. Typical case of battery/charging system. I have been wrong before!

I have 2007 Toyota Rav4, It has 1 key and the remote is attached to the key, the rubber of the remote has scattered therefore I do not use the remote.

I will need 2 keys with remotes but I do not like to remove the ignition, What is your best solution to my problem and how much money?

I was driving the EOD today when i noticed it wasn't transmitting well.

It goes off when i depress the breaks at holdups, I also noticed the lights were going off.

So i parked and thought to adjust the battery head properly.

It has since ceased to start since then.

Local mechanics have been giving me different diagnosis. One said it's Key Code, another brain box, another fuel pump.

Please is there anyone who knows what to do ?.

I am in Abuja and need an urgent fix please.

If possible this evening as car is presently parked on the road.

Looks like you have dead batteries. Better to start from there.

You are wrong sir. While in school, we could fabricate simple valves with our lab lathe machines. Our lecturer then could program the machine and just sit and watch, with coolant running. Couldn't grab how he was doing it, as I only did those practicals for a semester.

If I can't find this in Lagos, I can as well go down to Enugu (SEDI or PRODA). They will do it! I am sure you may not have heard these names before. If you search online, you will see companies looking for machinists for employment, who can fabricate precision designs. You think they work in China?
