claremont:
I don't think most of the people on this thread criticizing Fashola actually watched this video. Fashola handled this interview very well in my opinion, he never evaded any of the questions. HardTalk interviews are designed to be confrontational, and it takes nerves of steel to be calm and focused when answering them.

Kudos to Obasanjo and Buhari who have been on HardTalk. It does say a lot about Jonathan that he was never on it, I would have loved to hear him explain his Goat and Yam hypothesis to the world.
Where he began to lose the battle was debating the economic figures proving the Government still greatly relied on oil revenue. Denying the extent of the Boko Haram threat, denying the desperate condition of the IDP refugees. Denying the economic state of the Nation in the face of solid evidence.

All his answers had no evidence backing them up, he didn't divulge any credible strategy or plan the Government was working on

Considering atheism is a mental yoke if we should scrutinize its principles I think y'all should become Christians and them help us extricate other religious people from their parochial beliefs so they can leverage their minds which have been decrepit . What do you think ?
I agree with you to a great extent though we are yet to establish what makes Christianity special from other ruinous religions..

I think what should make Christianity better is because it tells the truth. Right?
Christianity Etc › Re: Communist Leaders And Atheists; Is There Any Difference? by Kay17: 3:18pm On Aug 12, 2016
KingEbukasBlog:
Christianity is a lifestyle - denotes the interests, opinions, behaviours, and behavioural orientations of an individual or group . God's plan for mankind to attain his apotheosis remains the animus that keeps the Christians going .

*3 John 2 : 1
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Christianity which has 32 percent of the world's population as adherents is the wealthiest religion possessing 55 percent of the global wealt . The wealthiest countries are Christian countries , the most advanced country is a country . Christians are the wealthiest by miles- 56 percent of the 13.1 million millionaires are Christians more than half of the billionaires -over 1800- are Christians .

*The bible lays so much emphasis on education : " My people perish for lack of knowledge " , "Study to show thyself approved " even Jesus during his time was described as one who grew with so much wisdom . Aetatis 12 , Christ was already an erudite young man - amassing so much knowledge even more than his teachers .

*Also God detests foolishness . In fact , displaying foolishness is an anathema to him . Ignorance is foolishness , and education counteracts ignorance . Christians founded most of the top universities in the world , Havard , Yale etc and other prestigious citadels of learning .

Proverb 18: 12: A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.
Proverbs 1:7 : fools despise wisdom and instruction.

*Our belief in God gives meaning to life . We know we were created for greatness

Jeremiah 29:11 : For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Matthew 6:33 :But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
1 Thessalonians 5:5 :For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.

*We were likened to gods [Psalm 82 :6] - Do you know what that means ? We have what it takes to rule , to be very great . To leverage the potential of our minds .

*We are called royalty and seen as perpendicular people who are out of darkness unto light .1 Peter 2:9 : But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

*On Morals , of course God is the source of morality . Christ exhorts us to live a life of rectitude and attain perfection just like God who is holy. And good morals affect one's behavior- evil communication corrupts good manners [1 Corinthians 15:33]

*On Life generally , we should love one another and be at peace with one another . We should eschew evil , depravities etc .

There are myriads of reasons why Christianity does not impede development . We have the most nobel laureates in various fields , we have the most successful sportsmen , businessmen just name it babe . These bible verses are been fulfilled in our lives . cool
Excellent reasons.

Now you should see why atheists are skeptical about religions because they are mental yokes. Don't you at least agree with atheists on that?
Christianity Etc › Re: Communist Leaders And Atheists; Is There Any Difference? by Kay17: 1:37pm On Aug 12, 2016
KingEbukasBlog:
Evidently , Christianity is not that kind of religion - at least you insist on seeing as a religion . The greatest minds in all walks of life are Christians , in science , business , sports , entertainment just name it .

It appears atheism on other hand limits the potential of the mind , it portrays the universe as a purposeless cosmic mistake and cleaving unto that principle an atheist would most likely see life as worthless . Well , that explains why ab initio Mundi, atheists are the least distinguished and accomplished in life . They vent their frustration on the religious ones and out of hate and jealousy induced political theories that would focus on impeding the progress of the religious after they sate their thirst for power .
So aside from Christianity, you accept that religions in general are mental yokes?

What does Christianity have that other religions and atheism lack?
Christianity Etc › Re: Communist Leaders And Atheists; Is There Any Difference? by Kay17: 12:13pm On Aug 12, 2016
@winner01

Do you think religions are not yokes? Yokes that shackle the mind and limit it's potentials?

Nope this is wrong again - there are several thousands of other beliefs with different concepts of afterlife, very many of them much older than both buddhism and abrahamism.

First of this is Ancient Egyptian beliefs, Even African traditional beliefs also vikings [Norse] to mention but a few.

So it is neither an abrahamic or buddhism thing, therefore wrong to label it as such. . . You can correct yourself
You are correct about that.

A proof of the afterlife must be metaphysical proof. It is like introducing a super reality into the ordinary reality. Like pouring the contents of a tank into a bucket. It is short of impossibility.

Yeah mehn. Long time. I was banned for nothing. or maybe for obvious reasons.

And I wish your memes were brain tasking and not so cheap.

1. God created hell for the devil and his demons, not for man. You choose hell by rejecting God. It just the same way you choose failure by rejecting to prepare for exams. No one forces failure on another. It is the consequence of an action

2. Jesus actually died for our sins. And it will do you a lot of good to embrace Him while His arms are yet wide open.

3. This is a bit funny cos the lips that pray are also the hands that help and are still helping, and I can give innumerable proof of these hands.

4. Well, God created the devil. How and why the seed of evil germinated in lucifer, we may never fully understand. And so technically we can say God created evil. It is still not enough reason for you to wish God did not exist.

Your memes are weak and getting stale.
God help you.
In respect to 1, I have noticed a pattern where Christian apologists like you concede that humans create their bad luck in order to avoid the divine purpose from being defeated. For example here you say Hell was destined for demons and the devils but not humans. But by God's omniscience and on account of his foreknowledge he would have known humans would be accommodated in Hell. So the divine purpose is rubbished.

No2. I struggle to understand the curative effect of the death of a man or the death of Jesus. It does not cure the injustice present today. The fatal flaw in man which leads him to sin isn't cured. A fully grown born again falls and lapses into the same sins. Worse off, born agains are now classical hypocrites. As long as men sin and commit injustice, Jesus's death is pointless.

4. You will never fully understand when you refuse to see that a fundamental cornerstone of your religion is assuming the devil is the originator of evil. And for God to be an absolute being from which everything owes an origin, he has to willingly create evil.

Your consideration is probably limited to just these two factors. Consider the technology the banks use, the success of that technology might be an incentive to a more sophisticated one which might be more beneficial in other areas like health.

My understanding of the story is that the Fulani is an armed robber. The man was acting alone and seeking to rob the pastor of his phone. The Fulani never stated his intentions to act on behalf of a militant Islamic group with an agenda against Christians.

The pastor on the other hand imputed anti religious intentions on the Fulani. An immediate attack on the pastor is more effective than demanding for the phone

This is where the Achilles heel of you Christian apologists lie. You are unable to convince anyone but yourselves of the independent existence of your God so you come to batter the atheists fences on what they didn't say.

You come arguing about the impossibility of life arising from non life or that the Universe came from nothing and other red herrings which have nothing to do with establishing the positive existence of your God.

It shows how shallow your attempts at proving your God are. If you can't prove it beyond faith then shut up.

2, it should be stopped by all nigerians who have the interest of nigeria at heart

Buhari is trying to inplement that agenda nothing more nothing less
The lands in Nigeria belong to the States. That aside, what alternative solution do you suggest?

Almost all the States in Nigeria have grazing areas. The land Use Act provides for it already. But this federal effort is to consolidate and uniformize all the grazing areas into clear identifiable zones. besides the grazing areas are not exclusive to Fulanis.

What I was trying to say is that your supposed proof is not a proof but an elaboration of your argument. You have to assume God exists and that he is eternal before consciousness itself is eternal. Consciousness is eternal because it existed with eternal God.

Now if you removed the assumption that God exists, and try to prove the eternal nature of consciousness independently from God, that attempt wouldn't succeed because it will leave you at a dead end. There is no empirical data yet tracing the cause of consciousness.

Since you have earlier conceded that God doesn't endorse the buying and selling of human beings, it will automatically mean that all provisions in Bible on slavery are not from God because God abhors slavery.

Besides God would abhor slavery not because buying and selling is bad but because human misery is bad
Politics › Re: South-south, South-east Lawmakers Oppose Grazing Bill -Channels TV by Kay17: 11:12am On Jul 17, 2016
obiak4:
Let me give a preview of the bill for people who dont understand or have an idea

The Bill creates a council to be chaired by a Chairman to
be appointed by the president.
The council shall have the power to take your land
anywhere the land is located in the country and then pay
you compensation.
Your land, when taken, shall be assigned to herdsmen
who shall use your land for grazing purposes. They shall
bring cows to the land and you shall lose the land
permanently to those Fulani cattlemen.
If you feel that the council was not right to take your
land, you can go to court but before you go to court,
you must first of all notify the federal attorney general of
your intention to sue the council. Apart from notifying,
you must get the consent and authority of the Federal
Attorney General before you can sue.
So that means that if the Attorney General refuses to
give his consent to the suit, you have lost your land
forever to the herdsmen.
And this law, when passed, shall apply to the whole
country so it means that your land in the village or
anywhere is not safe.
The National Grazing Reserve Council would have the
power to take away your land from you anytime they
want and pay you whatever they want as compensation
(even when you don't want to sell, and remember that
for you to get compensation, you must have documents
showing or proving ownership).
So I think that we all in the South West, South South and
South East must rise up and reject this Bill. We must do
all things to force our national Assembly members from
passing that bill into law.
That bill is a deliberate attempt to take our lands and
hand the land over to the Fulani cattlemen since it is
only the fulanis that rear cattle in Nigeria.
That law, when passed, shall fulfil the directive of
Uthman Dan Fodio and other northern leaders to take
over other parts of Nigeria.
I implore you to use all available means to implore your
senator and Rep not to pass that law.
That law will destroy Nigeria.
All over the world, ranches are established and used to
rear cattle. The farmers buy land and put there cattle
there. There is no country where the land of the citizens
are compulsorily acquired and given to others.
This is evil, and designed to favour the Fulanis where the
president comes from.
We must resist the passage of that bill into law to save
Nigeria, and to protect our future generations -
Please share this with any Nigerian you know. Save our
children's future. Nigeria belong to all of us not to only
certian people. Pray for Nigeria.
And people still want it passed smh for nigerians
1. Who will own the land? the Fulani or the government?

2. What alternatives do you propose?
