When the government started hiring thugs to disrupt end sars protest and provoke violence, I knew that would become the template for any anti government protest in Nigeria. Too bad. |
Lekan239:So this is an intelligent post to you. ![]() Illiteracy is a disease indeed ![]() |
agent01:Chai ![]() Illiteracy is a disease |
favor914:You are right. Boko haram, fulani herdsmen, bandits, ISWAP are freedom fighters for the North. |
lessonotes:The problem with Nigeria is the absence of truth and justice. Every one knows Nigeria will not work in her present structure but because of greed and tribal considerations, nothing is being done about it. What stops the leaders of calling a conference and reach a consensus with all groups in the country and create a new constitution that would be fair and balanced for everyone? With the tribal make up of the country, the best structure would be a strong independent regional government and a weak center, the way it is in the UK with England, Scotland, Wales and NI. How can you win the war with boko haram with free money from the Niger delta? If the north was prosecuting the war with money generated from the north, boko haram would have ended since. If Nigeria and Nigerians want a better country, our conversation would be different from what it is now. The reality we are not yet ready ,instead we are trying to use the same strategy over and over again and expect a different outcome. That's stupidity. |
The question is what is the big deal about presidency? Who does the president benefit? The people or the president himself? What has the north benefited from having the presidency apart from protecting bandits and terrorists? Even at that who is suffering it more? The Igbos will suffer more if they have the presidency cos the Igbo president will neglect his region and try to placate others who will still never love and accept him, example GEJ. In fact, the Igbo politicians clamoring for presidency and El rufai are all stupid. Who has the president helped since creation of this good for nothing country? What any right thinking Nigerian apart from the northerners should be interested in now should be either restructuring or break up and not presidency. Is it a country Buhari has finished kpata kpata someone wants to rule? Where will that person start from? Except the person's interest is just in looting money. |
Lagbaja88:I knew he is trying to console himself. The only way that some of these guys console themselves is to try to rubbish those countries they couldn't go to. |
sihamey:Guy, you disturb yourself for nothing. First of all, there is no where in the world where there is 0% unemployment rate. However, there is a difference between a place with 5% unemployment rate with one with 20% unemployment rate. Even in IT which is the hottest sector in the world right now, it doesn't have a 100% employment rate. This means there are still some unemployed IT gurus out there. Secondly, as our faces are different so also our lifestyle choices, values and what we hold dear different. So, that someone came back to Nigeria after getting PR is no big deal. Your PR card is for 5 years and you need to live in Canada for 2 out of that 5 years to renew it. Some people go back to Nigeria, work for 2 more years in Nigeria before relocating permanently. Someone I know went back to Nigeria. The reason is that he figured that he needs a particular certification to get the kind of job he wants in Canada so instead of staying in Canada, he decided to continue his good job in Nigeria and prepare and write the exam from Nigeria. He left his family in Canada so has no disturbance in Nigeria. His mission is to get the certification in a year and get back to Canada finally. So if you are trying to make your judgment based on someone who got PR and came back to Nigeria, I'm afraid you are on a long thing because you may not know the story behind the story |
kmcutez:Nigerians are the most patriotic people in the world. Do you think it is easy to suffer and smile? No other country in the world at least outside of Africa will put up with what Nigerians pass through on daily basis and not burn down the country. The country where I live will not take even one quarter of what Nigerians endure. Even the no 1 man in Nigeria is chilling in another man's country yet Nigerians are not bothered. In fact if you see a Nigerian, you should hail him rather than abuse him, people in Nigeria are trying. |
RemoveKebab: Chai, there is God oooooUna no go kee person for nairaland ![]() |
SGANIVA:Anyway, you are partly right. Doing well is relative. In Nigeria, it could mean living in a mansion with 10ft high fence, on top of the fence, you have broken bottles, nails, barb wires, electric fencing etc and a big gate and dogs and gateman all in a bid to feel safe while abroad, it could mean living in a house without fence, security dog, gateman and yet feel safe. This life no balance at all ![]() |
Originalsly:Nigeria as a country will always breed wicked people and it is not surprising. What do you expect? These are people who ply the worst roads humanity have ever seen all their life, people who sleep in darkness from birth to death, people who fetch water in jerry cans, they go to farm, they are butchered both the local, state and federal govt don't care, nobody is arrested, nobody is prosecuted, some have become refugees in their own homeland. The life of the lower class in Nigeria is so frustrating and this has bred mass wickedness in the country. What Nigeria has indirectly told the people is that you must get money by all means to live a reasonable life or just go and die. I think there is a correlation between frustrations Nigerians experience on daily basis to bad belle. |
OneTemplate:Bros, there is no right or wrong here, it is a matter of conscience. For someone like me, i can't close my eyes to evil on the alter of being in government, my conscience will not allow me. We are talking of human lives here. Have we lost our humanity? Of what use is holding on to power when your country men are dieing needlessly, you look the other way just because you do not want to offend anyone for your own benefit. It is because people like him and other southern politicians are silent that is why the fulani's are very comfortable doing what they are doing There is no better time to show courage than when it has become issue of life and death of the people you represent. People of good conscience need to speak up now and take a stand today not tomorrow. The highest that would happen is that you are sacked. We all saw how some Trump's own appointees disagreed and countered him openly about the election. He fired the homeland security chief because he countered him on the election, William Barr had to resign because he disagreed with him etc. Anyway, i may be wrong sha. Probably i am using myself to judge others who have sold their conscience to the devil himself. We should all know that people who see evil and keep quiet are as guilty as people who are commitng the evil. Thank you |
Is Dangote not a muslim from Kano? So all these religious bigot in the north can't blast him the way they do to muslim actresses and other poor people about similar lifestyle in the north abi? If it were to be an ordinary muslim person now, they would have condemned him on social media. |
ec0malchemist:See strategy ![]() You want people to contact you so you start selling ebook. Sharp man ![]() |
Why are people so comfortable living their life on social media? Or is it because it is Canada? If she was visiting her mother in the village, will she have posted it on social media? |
For every bad news about marriage troubles among Nigerian couples abroad, there are hundreds of thousands of working marriages among Nigerian couples abroad. I have been attending a Nigerian church for years, there has never been any single marriage wahala or divorce. All marriages including mine are blossoming. However, when one marriage get k-leg, it will definitely make news. Nigerian couples in Nigeria also have problems too. |
hakeem4:Guy, stop lying to buttress your point. Nobody collects 1300CAD in Canada a month doing a full time job even if it is cleaning toilet. Minimum wage is $14 per hour. If you are working full time (40 hours a week) cleaning toilets, you will earn 2240 CAD a month before taxes. Most people in those low category of work do overtime or 2 jobs. It won't be surprising seeing that person take up a weekend job where they will work for extra 10 hours over the weekend and make extra money. Now, people in those category have a very low tax bracket. Canada does not have a flat tax for everyone, it depends on your earnings. In Canada, people keep receipts and record of some things they pay out of pocket like rents, church offerings etc. and at the end of the tax year, you can include those expenses when filing your taxes and you will get some money back from the government as refund. In my first year in Canada, the money i and my wife got back in our tax return from government was enough to buy our second car. You need to understand a system thoroughly before you make good judgement. Don't rely on hear say or what you read on Nairaland. Some of the information peddled on this forum may not be lies but are half-truths. The thing is that Half-truth is worse than lies. The person you are talking about may just be working part time or a student who is only expected to work 20 hours a week maximum or there is something else they are not telling you. In reality no permanent resident full time worker will earn just 1300CAD every month. Not mathematically possible. One thing most of you don't understand is that you don't rate a country based on the rich. The rich in any country Canada and the US included is a small percentage of the entire population and will always be so. You rate a country based on what is available to the lower class, the poor. What services are available to them? What social benefits are available to them? How are the poor treated? etc. For instance, the poor in Nigeria will not even have the opportunity to do 2 jobs even if they want to. Why? Because the system does not support it. By not having an hourly wage in Nigeria, you have systematically prevented the poor from working in 2 places that would have helped them earn more. |
Where is Hisbah? ![]() |
It is not surprising. It is very important to have a backup country even if you are comfortable in Nigeria at the moment. I wish Nigeria will be better but the reality is that it can't. If you have what it takes, get a second citizenship now. It is a wise investment. |
tensazangetsu20:Na so. I wouldn't blame them anyway. The losers are those Nigerians who allow themselves to be deceived by the political and elite class of Nigeria. They force patriotism down their throats but they themselves are never patriotic. |
Bacteriologist:I agree with you. However, the way a lot of Nigerians were taking the election as if whoever wins will put Nigerian interest at heart starting becoming disgusting. Its one thing to love and support a candidate based on one's view but to become emotional and start insulting others is a stupid thing to do. Nigeria will not gain anything whether Trump or Biden is in the white house so why the brouhaha? |
Nigerians can go and rest. There is nothing concerning Nigerians with America election. Nigerians should rather face their own country instead of all these nonsense i read online that does not in anyway concern them. |
jesmond3945:In a way you are right. However, the difference is that with the western countries, you are sure that they will turn things around with time. In the next 1 or 2 years with the corona under control, they will reverse the current problems and get back to growth again. The problem with Nigeria is not with just today's problems. The major issue is that the country seem never to have any capacity to confront her challenges and solve them. Even before corona, Nigeria was getting worse and even with corona out of the way, there is no evidence that shows things will be better especially with the current leadership we have and the crop of politicians showing interest to take over from the current leadership. |
Rugaria:Oga, you are exaggerating. There is no how close to 300,000 Nigerians will be living in the whole of China not to talk of a city. Show us the data |
Rugaria:Hmmmm. Total number of all foreigners in China is just over 900,000. This is even less than the number of foreigners in Nigeria. The number of Chinese in the USA alone is more than 3.5 million. The number of Chinese living all over the world is more than the population of Holland, Denmark and Sweden combined. So i don't think you know what you are talking about. |
Anwons:I am betting North Korea or Venezuela. Ebi like sey China don tire for us ![]() |
babatee1985:Each time i see that meme, i laugh my ass out. That meme captures the 100% reality of Nigeria. In search of a solution, we go buy big problem wey go bury Nigeria las las ![]() |
