Gilbertase:The mistake people like you make is that you expect everyone to see things that are glare and agree. People like codemanics could be dead serious in what they are saying. See, people operate on different standards. Your standards could be high while another person's standard is low. Therefore, everybody is right in a way. Those days in school, some people popped champagne cos they made a 2-2 while some others were angry cos they didn't make first class, different standards. For me, I can't willingly live in Nigeria in her present state no matter the millions I have. I don't see anything sweet in a country where even the basic things are not working. Even if you live in Banana island, won't you go to other places ? But don't be surprised some people enjoy Nigeria they way it is. When your standard is too low, everything passes the test. So when codemanics tell you he enjoys Nigeria, he could be right and you have to believe him. |
babzo:Anyone who fights for Nigerians is a fool. Nobody should waste his time on trying to fight for Nigerians. Enjoy your life and assume the country does not exist in your mind. |
Kingcalls:Illiteracy is indeed a disease. I throw way salute for you ![]() |

Has Nigeria won any medal so far? I'm not following the Olympics |
bluefilm:This same kyari has locked up Nigerians whose only crime was unknowingly standing close to a crime scene. If another person played this role kyari played, would kyari not arrest him as part of the syndicate? You guys should keep defending |
ILoveDemMANNA:What of the fraudster who claims he has a grilling business and was advertising it on his signature on nairaland only to be discovered it was a fake business used to scam people? ![]() |
vedaxcool:Are you indirectly talking about Buhari and his fulani terrorists brothers who have spilled blood all over Nigeria? You just described them. I say Amen to your prayers. |
Lighthammer:Guy, Russia conducts her own drills too like others. So the drills by the US does not prevent Russia from annihilating the US if it wants to. Russia is still the only country capable of turning the US to ashes even without all these new weapons Putin is chasing. The question is how does all these Putin grandstanding change the equation? If Putin will not declare war on the US and destroy her, then these new weapons are just waste. I want to see Russia playing and challenging economically with the big boys up there and not all these nonsense that will never be used. Russia should leave this weapons propaganda to North Korea ,they have passed this level abeg. |
Russia looks more like North Korea these days. The only thing we read about Russia is now missile, weapons etc that never get used. If Russia is so confident of toppling the US, why not start a war with the US and eliminate them once and for all and become the super power. That is the only way this Putin's craze for weapons will be justified. You keep wasting money building new weapons that never gets to be used against the enemy while ya economy is no where near the big boys. Russia really needs a fresh leadership. |
flawlesskayc:Have sex with her on her ovulation day or a day before ovulation for best result. The Male chromosome XY will hit her eggs first cos it swims faster and fertalize it,boom it is a boy!!!!!! Just science no magic. |
Make I hear say Buhari know wetin him sign. ![]() Billions billions yet nothing to show for it in the damn country. |
How did it happen? Did she open a gas line and lit the fire or what? Please someone who knows the story should clarify |
ThatFairGuy1:I think you should direct this talk at the one and original blame king BUHARI. ![]() He is paid with tax payers hard earned money to lead Nigeria better but.................. |
Kuginzi:Are you saying you don't know why igboho started clamoring for secession? Or you just want to pretend that you didn't know? In case you don't know, he realized that the fight to end herdsmen terror will not materialize in Today's Nigeria since Buhari and his security apparatus are tactically backing the herdsmen. How do you want him to defend his people like this? If herdsmen kill villagers police and army look the other way but when villagers retaliate ,the police and army swing into action to defend the herdsmen in guise of keeping peace. Will fulanis take just 1% of the injustice they are dishing to other Nigerians? Buhari is almost 80 and likely have limited time on earth, I pity the younger fulanis who are going to face hostility tomorrow when tables turn. They can continue doing anyhow now they have the security apparatus and judiciary in their pocket but nothing last forever. |
I don't really blame some of you for responding to the OP. You might have thought that it was a genuine discussion. For we that have been here for long, we know the op too well that is why the popular Nigerians in diaspora on this forum don't respond to his threads. He has used for than 10 monikers in the last 5 years saying the same thing. He will still create another moniker next month to start this argument in another way next month. Most times, I think he has a mental problem. Otherwise how does one keep disturbing himself or herself over something that does not affect him personally? From year to year, same argument. Make no mistake, it is okay to have a view for yourself but when it now turns to creating threads year in year out on the same topic trying to prove a point, then a psychiatric help may be needed. Please guys, let the thread die so he can change moniker and create another thread next month |
Will the police enforce it? I highly doubt that Buhari police a.k.a defenders of fulani herdsmen will enforce it oooo. |
Exponential101:When you read posts like the one you quoted, don't take them serious. There are a lot of people here who are not what they claim they are. Some are not igbos or yoruba or even from the south but they assume a southern identity to cause hatred between southern tribes. Nairaland is a place where anybody can be anything. I can decide to have 3 monikers that represent 3 ethnic groups and use it to manipulate people into hating themselves. Don't fall for it. |
malakaimoscondo:There are countless examples of countries that didn't treat secession as war. The UK that created Nigeria didn't send the army to Scotland to quash their secession bid. Canada did not use army to stop Quebec from secceding etc. If they had done that probably they would have been fighting internal battles today. What did they do? They gave agitators reasons to remain and convinced the people and they people themselves rejected the secession idea through a referendum. Singapore seceded from Malaysia peacefully and today both Singapore and Malaysia are living side by side peacefully and prospering. If they had forced themselves to remain one, probably today there would have been so much bloodshed in their land. The question I want to ask you is, of what use is a one big country that is not making progress in almost every aspect of human development indices? For how long are we going to force unity through the barrel of the gun? Yesterday it was Biafra, we kill them, today it is oduduwa, we kill them, probably next year,it will be Niger delta, we also kill them. 5 years from now, another person rise up to lead the agitation, we kill them. For how long are we going to keep running in this circle? Is this what your children and grandchildren will continue to face in this country? Is the bloodshed in the country not yet enough? Is it that we have become so cold blooded that we now see bloodshed as no big deal? At what cost should one Nigeria be defended? With all these, how do we now expect investors to make Nigeria their base? As the Nigerian army is busy killing Nigerians in Nigeria in the name of fighting agitators, small Ghana is busy cornering investors to their country. The status quo some people want to defend, who is benefiting from it? It is definitely not the ordinary people of the east, west, south, middle belt and even the north. If the north is benefiting from one Nigeria, they wouldn't have the worst poverty rate in the country, they wouldn't be the least educated in the country etc so what exactly do the common people in the north gain except that the own the army, police, dss that protect their terrorists and bandits that also kill them too. Entrenching justice, equity and fair play to all would easily solve Nigeria problems but some think the only way is to use bullets forgetting that bullets will only radicalize people and the problem will keep expanding. Every body is suffering in Nigeria today one way or the other both pro one Nigeria and anti one Nigeria, so what is the point? Anyway, if this is how the majority of Nigerians want Nigeria to be, an endless cycle of bloodshed ,okay no problem. Thank God some of us who have a second country to call our own will be watching from afar. |
ocelot2006:You don't understand my point. I'm saying Russia is punching below her weight considering the technological prowess of the country. Russia should be at least in the top 5 economies. There is absolutely no reason the UK, France,Canada and about 8 other countries should have a bigger economy to Russia. Russia is far technologically superior to all these countries. The problem with Russia lies in their leadership. You have Putin who has ruled Russia for about 23 years and counting whose idea of power is just weapons upon weapons that are never going to be used. A different leader other than Putin would probably have a different view and prioritize economic power over military power like China did. You can see how powerful China has become today. I'm of the opinion that you either practice true democracy and get the dividends or go full autocratic like China and get the reward. This Russian democracy is not helping them at all. Democracy was designed in such a way that gives room for variety of ideas and views. When you change leaders, there is a possibility of changing views as the new leader implements what he thinks it's best for the country. Imagine that Buhari will be president for the next 20 years, we are going to be talking about cows and grazing cos that is what he cares about most. But at least we can put our hope that all this cow talk will end in the next 2 years rather than 20 years.Putin is obsessed with military and weapons and that has been his interest since the beginning and it won't change. Russia can be bigger economically than it is now but she needs a different kind of leader in other to make it happen. Putin tried for Russia in the beginning but I don't think he has any other thing to offer Russia apart from testing weapons. |
ibedun:Internet professor please educate me.All those things you listed was supposed to affect Russia but not China abi? I don't want to make ignorant statements like you said, please educate me ![]() |
Always testing weapons that are never used. What is the essence of all these brouhaha? Russia needs a smart 21st century leader that would harness their technological prowess into economic products like China because that is where the power is not weapons. Very soon they would start playing second fiddle to China as China is becoming a bigger power than them. Imagine Russia with all this technological brain is no where near being in the top 10 economy. I find it ridiculous that Canada of 37m people has a bigger economy than Almighty Russia because they have a leader for the past 20 years whose only idea of power is to produce weapons upon weapons that won't ever be used. They should emulate China |
Gumi can't keep advocating for bandits without the knowledge and collaboration of Buhari and his inner circle. Buhari, the police and military knows who and where the bandits. How do you think these bandits will be this bold without the backing of the government? How many days did it take the govt to rein on unknown gun men in the east? |
JesseJo:You are correct. Like I said before, you are assuming that things will work the way it is designed to work. But note that we are dealing with people who don't care about any law. It will be difficult to evict fulanis when they have been entrenched in the land. Blood will have to flow for that to happen and it will lead to full blown terrorism like what is happening in Benue. Who is even going to stop them if the state wants to end it? The police? The ones that can't enforce an open grazing ban agreed by southern governors? What makes you think they will be interested in enforcing any law that goes against the fulanis? The governors have no real power. The best way to avoid future bloodshed is to restrict grazing reserves or whatever it is called to the north. Any fulani who wants to graze in the south should buy or rent a land as an individual and do their business. Cow is a big business and should be treated as such. |
JesseJo:You wouldn't have been wrong looking at it normally. But you are assuming that we are dealing with rational people. People who have no ulterior agenda of their own. At face value, the initiative looks harmless and business oriented. However except you just intentionally want to lie to yourself, you should know that this whole thing is a ploy to legally plant fulanis in those lands. It might look like business today but think about what the situation will be 20 to 30 years from now when they have gained ground, brought in their brothers from Mali and Senegal etc to occupy those lands.Think about the changes that would happen along the line when it will become impossible to resist and back off. Because once you start, bear in mind that there wouldn't be a peaceful exist. The best thing would have been for the cattle owners to individually buy or rent lands from host communities and ranch their cows. But they don't want that cos it doesn't align with their long term agenda. One cow cost hundreds of thousands of naira so we are not talking of one naira business here. Anyway people who wants to risk their communities and states can go ahead sha. One thing I like about fulanis is that they have a long term outlook and plan for things. They are not short term thinkers. They are long term strategists. Conquering the hausas which is one of the largest tribes in Africa is not something that was done overnight. Think about it. |
vedaxcool:My brothers will never ask for land to do their private business. They buy or rent lands individually for their businesses whether in their state of origin, east, west or north. Tell your herdsmen brothers to do the same. Case closed. |
vedaxcool:With all due respect, why should state governors approve land for ranching? Why should the state be involved in private businesses? Would the state also approve lands for other private businesses? Or are some businesses more important than some others? If the state has to be involved , why not the herders then go to their state of origin and request their own government to provide the land? Why should the state provide land to non indigenes to do their private business when they are not giving out the cows free to the people? Will your state government give out free land to people of other tribes to do pig farming?Remember that some states in the north don't allow the sale of alcohol I am not trying to fight you, I'm asking these questions to make you think deep and see if this cow controversy in Nigeria actually makes sense except there is any other secret agenda not said in the open. |
vedaxcool:Ok. I agree. If that is the case, why can't they buy a land or rent a space to do their ranch? Every businessman in the north either buys or rent a shop or an office space for their business. Don't forget that cow meat is not cheap. It is not like we are talking about a 2 naira business here. Before God and man, will you have accepted any other tribe to graze on northern lands, destroy their farms and kill the locals as it has been happening to southerners over the years now? |
vedaxcool:Why is it so difficult to graze or do your Ruga in the north? There are some states in the north bigger than the entire south east. You can comfortably get just 3 states in the north that would be bigger than the entire south east and south south put together. So what exactly is the problem? |
Dealing with them with his mouth abi? Buhari prove us wrong by sending the army to flush bandits and herdsmen in the forest. Talk is cheap. |
Yoighaman:You guys don't understand what is going on. Before you get to the herdsmen, you will have to get over the police and army first. Nigeria case is different from the example you cited above because in our case the state security apparatus are against the people and defending the terrorists. It is not a case of the security being overwhelmed and citizens step up to fight, it is a case of the security of a country tactically supporting the terrorists against the people. So it is a difficult fight to win The moment the indigenes go after the fulanis that is when you will see the army with operation something and the aim will be to stop the villagers from attacking the terrorists . You can not form q vigilante and give them AK47. Where would you bring it from? Who control borders and customs? You think Buhari will allow a governor give vigilantes AK47 to fight the herdsmen? So the governors are helpless in this regard. Has Amotekun stopped fulanis from killing in southwest? This is why the north does not want restructuring. Imagine if there is a regional or state police answerable to the people of the state. How would they not have flushed these terrorists out of their state. The only way for this governors to confront this is to covertly back non state actors to take the fight to the herdsmen but then the police and army will come for them. It is a messed up situation |
KingKingKing:They are talking of cities and you are talking of settlements. Nigeria has only one city and that is Lagos. Every other thing you call city in Nigeria is just a settlement . Unfortunately the only city Nigeria has is just trash. |
