The problem with people like you is that you can’t differentiate between partisanship and tribalism. Supporting President Buhari and APC is not tribalism. Not supporting Atiku and PDP is not tribalism. Atiku is Fulani and PDP is not a tribe.
There are a lot of anti buhari guys that are also tribalist. Clever tribalists try to hide under the guise of partisanship to export their deep rooted hatred for some people. For example, people who hate buhari but use the opportunity to export their hatred for the south west are tribalists. So i know exactly what i am talking about.

Most of you are deluded and can't comprehend simple thing the guy in question said he wants money he didnt mention sanity or good health care. And the next thing you all preach to tell him is to move abroad. Even the not too wise Nigerians i have met all agreed that making money in Nigeria is easier than in developed countries. I dont care about anybody's wealth i only buttressed my point by mentioning their name to a deluded fellow like you. And she started with the name first.

TravelRe: 800k A Month: Should I Travel To Canada? by Kenn55: 8:16pm On May 25, 2020
TrueNigerian300:
At the bolded, rich Nigerians and rich people across the globe do not have problem migrating to anywhere they choose to it is only poor people and Nigerians included that struggle and even kill themselves to migrate to anywhere in the world. With less than 2m dollar you can become an american citizen with easy but many Nigerians pass through shit to get this because they are poor. Madam no place like home and no matter how reach you are you will always be a second class citizen in a whiteman's land. It is easier for you to make name for yourself back home if you are rich. The same Otedola you are talking about who give a Bleep about him in abroad, who knows himhuh?? What about his daughter why can't she stay abroad and build her career therehuh? She is home and doing well to the best of her ability in naija but in abroad who give a Bleep about herhuhhuh

Go and check only poor Nigerians go to school abroad and never return home because of fear of poverty. Dangote's daughter all manage their father's business here, mike daughter's as well, Tinubu's son and lot of others. Mind you Seyi Tinubu did all his education abroad and has the opportunity to live there even large enough than most british but he chose to return to Nigeria. He is the CEO of his own company imagine he lives in the UK where he has to struggle to get contract because of his skin colour. Nobody will give a f**k about him there but here in Nigeria he is a boss that controls hundreds of people. The sh**t most Nigerians pass through abroad is all because they are poor and never want to return home because of poverty if you are a rich person with dignity and know your what you will never want to take those sh**t hence many of the rich Nigerians will prefer Nigeria only to go abroad for holidays.

If you have experienced what it means to live large in Nigeria or you have live closed to people who do so you will know that your abroad is trash and that is the bitter truth. How many Nigerians are head of big corporation abroadhuh?? How many Nigerians are what 5m dollars abroadhuhhuh
From my interaction with people here in abroad I have come to realise that whenever i tell people that Nigeria is better when you have money the only people that disagree mostly are people who back in Nigeria the only thing they know is poverty and I cant blame them for it. It is a very bad experience to be poor in Nigeria and Nigeria is hell fire if you poor.

The guy said he is looking for more money and here you are sweet mouthing abroad for him. How many Nigerian earn above 50k dollars per annum, how many earn 100k dollars p.a in your so called abroad. The funny thing about most you is you encourage Nigerians to come abroad and when they get there to even offer help as small as it could be becomes problem. Some will even switch off their phone so the person cant reach out to them. Some are ashame because of the mess they live in after all the I live abroad gra gra.

At OP I wish you well in your decision life is all about risk the bigger the risk the bigger your success and the worst your failure also. If you allow people who live in cubicles abroad and the only things they know back home is poverty decide your future. If allow people who work in factories, people who are educated but are doing unskilled jobs make decision for you. If you allow people who have no value in their place of work as compare to you that is well respected in your place of work decide for you. If you allow someone that is sharing an apartment or who has 2 bedroom flats with 3 kids decide for you.If you allow people who wish they had the kind of job you have right now to decide for you. It is your life and i wish you well that is all I can say.

Hey Danielhouston,

Many thanks for your exposition so far on this thread. Everything felt like a movie being played out to me! cheesy

I observed that they are Oil companies like DEA and Wintershall who have oil blocks in the North Sea.

What do you think is the view of many Germans on fossil fuels?

A Master's student who came to my undergraduate University from Switzerland to intern told me; "We, the Europeans, see crude oil as a dirty source of fuel"
That is the view of the left, not just in Europe but also in North America. In fact, for them, crude oil should be left and buried under the ground.

However, the reality is that oil is in its dying times due to its environmental impacts. The investments in alternative sources of energy is gathering much pace in recent times and in 20 to 30 years from now, crude oil will likely rot in the ground.

It doesn't work that way. Majority or even all of those people are visitors and temporary residents. Some of then would have already traveled to Nigeria before now if not for the covid lockdown. Some of them have visas that are already expiring and don't have a choice than to leave else they become illegal which will affect their chances tomorrow. My mum left in January before the lockdown else she likely could have been part of this 200 people for evacuation as she is not supposed to spend more than 6 months here at a time based on her visa.

See this one o. I am the op in question and yes I am 30 years old, and yes I do know the realities of life probably more than you. You see, I never said to make it in an instant, you are just the one mouthing it, and you think I don't know the cost of travel? Maybe you are highly mistaken o as I have travelled abroad severally, so I know all the expenditure and peculiarities involved. Again, stop presuming, I am certainly not depressed or anything, to the contrary, I am in the Nigerian sense living very good, I have a very good paying job, I have my own manageable ride etc but you see, I am not delusional. I can clearly with my own two eyes see that this country is disgusting and disfunctional. You talked about using 5million to setup solar power in my house instead of travelling with it, what then is the use of the government if I will have to provide electricity by myself? Also you thinking as a typical Nigerian will conveniently not think of the rest of the people. If I am able to provide electricity for myself, what about the remaining citizens of this country? you see where the Nigerian mentality is so messed up right? And if you were exposed enough, you will realize that it's not only about electricity. What about health? should I also build a hospital for myself too? what about quality education? what about security? water supply? Maybe I should sink my own borehole right? if I will have to do all these by myself, what then is the benefits of being a Nigerian? and again, if I can afford to provide all these to myself, what about more than 90% of Nigerians that can't afford such? I will live you with this, it's not a matter of how much you will spend to immigrate, or whatever, it's about dignity of life, future prospects for your children, comfort of life and so many more. Nigeria has failed it's citizens woefully
Did you just say the bolded?
See, the mistake people like you make is to think we as Nigerians should all value the same thing. Nigeria was not designed to make collective progress because we don't appreciate it as a people, it is designed for individual progress. So for your own good think about yourself and yourself alone, don't bother about others, the general society. Believe me, it is all man for himself so you need to start thinking selfishly and forget about others.

Secondly, Nigeria did not fail her citizens. Believe me, they way Nigeria is today, far majority of the citizens love it that way. The rich love Nigeria like mad and would even frustrate any effort to make it better for everyone. If everybody has 24/7 light for instance, how would the rich oppress others with their inverters and solar systems that costs millions of naira? If all those things you are talking about is available to all, what then will separate the rich from the poor? How would the rich do long throat to the poor? The gap will be close. Let us not forget that the rich needs a Nigeria like this to maintain their 'chairmanship' grin over others. If Nigeria becomes better for all and this wide gap reduces, their 'chairmanship' goes down. Nigeria is built to have a form of 'social distancing' grin between classes of people

What of the poor? When you see them complaining and cursing their leaders, it is not because they want Nigeria to have a working system or as developed or beautiful like Dubai or Germany, it is because they do not have the opportunity to acquire wealth, show off and oppress others. Once they cross over and become rich, Nigeria will become the best thing after slice bread. Those things they complain about will no longer matter to them.

The reality is that you need to pursue your own personal happiness alone. Don't think about the larger society, they don't want it. If you are tired, stop complaining, find a way to legally migrate abroad, Nigerian borders are still open grin. If you can't, just make yourself happy anyhow

I got fade up with the country and i relocated with my family. For me, the next time i will live in Nigeria permanently will be decades from now when i retire. I will come back to Nigeria to love Nigeria and become the most patriotic Nigerian alive grin. In fact, i will paint my house and car green white green and dedicate my online presence to loving Nigeria with all my heart. For now, let me enjoy what the developed world has to offer first grin. There is nothing as sweet as seeing it all, enjoying it all and then coming back to be in the position to deceive others. It is not being selfish, it is being a Nigerian grin. That is how they country wants it

Read the post well before you comment. The chinesse Doctors are helping our doctors in capacity building. They are not treating any patient.

Nothing can ever satisfy you people. Always thinking negative things.

Hate will kee you people.
According to Lai

“The Chinese are doing well, they all tested negative for coronavirus. As to what they are doing right now, they are busy working at our isolation centres, putting together and setting up their equipment they brought,” he said.

Since they are not coming to treat covid patients, so we now need China to set up equipment in Nigeria. Nigerian Engineers are not capable of assembling equipment, we had to bring in about 14 Chinese doctors to do it. Maybe the equipment does not have installation and operating manuals. This means they would have to stay in Nigeria for a very long time because they will have to maintain the equipment and operate it. Who is incurring these cost? What is the big deal about what they are doing sef?

How are they helping our doctors in capacity building? Probably teaching them how to use the equipment or medicine since Nigerian doctors went to school road instead of medical school

For how long will an independent nation like Nigeria continue to look this pitiable in everything?

How are we sure these guys are even doctors? because they told Nigeria so? Before you know it now, they will leave there and move into villages to start mining gold and other natural resources illegally. Nigeria no just wan get sense

Danielhouston:
Let’s talk about Ticket Inspector, we call them “controllers”. They are the people that check your ticket in the train and catch those traveling without a valid ticket.

They’re mostly Turkish and Arab. It’s like a game and everybody hates them. They’re part of the Berlin culture, so much that Berliners have devised ways to fish them out and avoid them. They change tactics every time. They mostly wear black jackets. Just look out for that mean looking Turkish/Arab dude with a black jacket and swollen pocket (that’s where they hide their scanner).

They are usually 2 people in one section of the train and come in from opposite doors. The moment the train door closes and you hear “Farschein bitte”, everybody’s heart starts to beat. They’re also very wicked and rude. But Berliners challenge them all the time. If you don’t have a ticket or have an invalid ticket, they escort you out of the train, take your information and fine you.

Fine for riding without a ticket is €60. If they catch you up to 3 times in a year, they can take you to court (or so they say, but it’s bullsh..) You’ll see the foreigners speaking English and pretending not to understand what they’re saying. Some will tell lies that they’re tourists and don’t know the law.
You can lie your way through if you’re good. Sometimes you argue until they get tired and leave you. Sometimes some people zoom off in full speed as soon as they step out of the train. They won’t chase you.

Berliners also help each other. Someone with a ticket can carry one person with their ticket from 8:00 pm everyday and all day in the weekend. So when a ticket inspector is in the train, if your neighbor sees you don’t have a ticket, they can cover for you with their ticket.

Some people with ticket also devised a means to help others. They delay the inspectors by pretending to search for their ticket. They waste time until the train gets to the next stop and people can escape. It’s a funny situation but also wild. I love Berlin.
Dem no dey collect bribe grin
TravelRe: Being Black In Berlin/germany by Kenn55: 10:16pm On May 04, 2020
Danielhouston:
Tribalism and racism can both have the same effect. The only difference is that racism is worse and here’s why....

A Yoruba person may not like igbos and deny them opportunities, while giving it to his own person. But igbos also have the power to fight back and create their own. One group is not superior to the other. They will keep fighting and there’ll be no winner.

A white person or white people have the economic, institutional, financial power to control other races. The white race is also more in number than any other race. That is why they were the slave owners. They control the world. Their passport holds more power, so does their currency. A white person can live in Nigeria and not have papers, yet own companies. But a Nigerian has to pay €10,000 into a blocked account just to get a visa to study. Can a Yoruba do that to the Igbos?

If I go to a Yoruba shop to buy food and they don’t sell to me, I go to another shop. If I go to Germany and they deny me because of I’m black, I go to Spain, the same, France, UK, Canada, where will I go? And those are the profitable places that have the power to make my life better.

You also may not know which part of Nigeria someone is from until they speak or tell you. Hence they can easily escape tribalism. But being black is obvious. They can see color. You don’t have to say anything. Seeing you alone already disqualifies you. Which means your existence is a problem to some people. You can be bilingual and escape tribalism. Even if you’re mixed race, you still face racism.

However they can both have similar psychological and physical effects on someone. Tribalism and racism can both get you killed. Except that racism is on a broader spectrum that affects you based on your skin color.
Daniel, you are doing a good job. I agree with everything you said except where you say racism is worse than tribalism.

In tribalism, people of the same color, same country even similar cultures hate and discriminate against each other based on the fact they speak different language only.

In racism, people of different color, different country, different language and different cultures discriminate against others. Now look at the gap here. Everything is different, now compare it with tribalism where everything is the same except language.

If people in the same country can hate each other so much, what is the big deal in racism? Having experienced conc tribalism in Nigeria,As someone living abroad, i don't expect love from whites by default. If you are nice, good and fine. Ironically, i have not experienced racism yet

One thing i have noticed about racism abroad is that the chances of racists temporarily shunning racism to embrace the one the hate when you show you have something to offer is high. In tribalism, even if you like be the only solution to the problem, as long as your name is okoro or Ayodele etc, you can never get the chance to offer your solution, they would rather die.

Look at Obama for instance. He is black, his name is not Jones, Smith etc but a Kenyan native name. However, when the chips are down, in a country of paltry 12% black, he won an election beating his white challenger because he is the better candidate. Obama will never win an election in Osun state for instance as an igbo man or win an election in Abia state as a yoruba man. It does not matter if he was born and bread in Osun or Abia, speaks the language fluently or the most qualified to rescue the state, he will not get support.

There are lots of Nigerians abroad that have broken the barrier of racism by merit because they offer value more than their white host. They whites had no choice than to swallow their racism. They won elections even when they are minority, they head top organisations bossing the whites even with their tribal names etc
See, even you who have faced racism in Germany stand a better chance of leading a top organisation in Germany or winning an election in Germany when the chips are down more than you winning an election outside your tribe in Nigeria no matter how qualified and capable you are.

Bros, if you want to see how rugged tribalism is, just peep into nairaland politics section. I no say make you stay there for long ooo otherwise you won't know when you will join them and become one tribalists, Lol. The hate oozing out from our fellow country men fit boil beans. Racism dey learn work.

One of the greatest problems in this part of the world is eye service. Who will advice the dunce of the president? they ones who are licking his ass to be in his good books?
