blazetitov:Light and fuel supply were fairly stable for most of GEJ's tenure. The March-April incident you talked about happened very close to his handover, when the independent marketers decided to shut down petroleum importation, and it was mainly because Buhari said he didn't believe in subsidy and the marketers felt he wouldn't pay them their subsidy claims if he took over power. Apart from the peculiar issue with IKEDC, power production generally is currently at it's lowest level in this administration. That's what majority of Nigerians are talking about. |
mrvitalis:I get your point sha, but the risk is enormous. Any leakage into the road can be disastrous. |
mrvitalis:So if a pipeline gets vandalised, the roads will ultimately be closed till repairs, otherwise people may be roasted as a result of fire incidents. Do you think vandals can't do their activities in the dead of the night? Again, did you consider the cost of laying the pipelines again, and the fact that that huge amount needs to be deployed into infrastructural development? |
Highvotage:Hahaha. No be lie o. |
auhanson:Okay. Thanks a lot. |
Stylz69:Perfect response to him. I was pissed when I read his attack on the guy. As a very economical guy, I always do this every time I fill my tank. Because I'm too sensitive about minimising my fuel consumption, I rarely use my AC. Too bad. Despite the whole economy, I rarely get beyond 22-24mpg (both city and highway) with my 2003 Corolla-S. It's very annoying cos initially, I was thinking I could be getting up to 28-30mpg. I guess the age of the engine is a factor in the low values. |
Clerverly:Having seen your 'successful' administrations in Osun and Imo states, Cross River State isn't interested in APC. |
blackpanda:Obasanjo's administration built the Benin bypass. It was built brand new in 2003 or thereabout. I don't know about other new roads the administration built. That's why Osinbajo gave the time gap of 10years instead of 16years. War against Boko Haram couldn't be effectively executed by Jonathan because the North initially saw it as an attack on their people. Even Buhari said, "an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North". Ihejirika made attempts to cripple Boko, but they took him to ICC for war crimes. The minority president out of fear of the powerful North had to chicken out. People keep saying Jonathan didn't buy weapons yet Buhari has been fighting Boko for almost one year with the weapons Jonathan bought. Corruption is entrenched in the Nigerian system, and has been part of us for over 40 decades. It isn't something that one man can wave a magical wand and it will disappear. Effective eradication of corruption is done by strengthening systems, and making it difficult for people to misbehave. It takes time but ultimately, it can be achieved. Buhari alone cannot fight corruption when every other person around him is corrupt. What then happens when he's out of the system? |
fiizznation:So in your sane mind, you believe a 14 year old JSS 3 student with huge prospects ahead of her will elope with an illiterate Mairuwa for a distance over 1000 km to a strange land, far removed from all her loved ones, just like that? Did you read the elder brother's report that she was in Scripture Union and used to evangelise to people? Even if she was still corrupt despite her evangelism, do you think she would have been strong-hearted enough to abandon her education, friends and family and run away with an abóki without any plans of returning home? Guy, think! Think! By the way, she could have been hypnotised, drugged or threatened with death if she resisted the move, before being thrown into one of the trailers they use both in conveying cattle and transporting the abókis to and fro the North. The process of brainwash which made her accept Islam and learn Hausa language with enthusiasm happened over the months. It's that same brainwashing they use in recruiting and launching out suicide bombers. |
obailala:Your points are clear, but the whole arguments would not have arisen if the Pastor VP didn't start playing unnecessary politics. Fashola acknowledged that GEJ's administration did a lot in terms of road construction, but in a bid to remind Nigerians how 'terrible' GEJ's administration was, the VP brought up the issue of new roads. I say it to you that it was a needless point he made. I can almost bet you that this same administration would exhaust their 4 years tenure without completing any new road. There are much fewer sites/locations that need new federal roads than roads that need rehabilitation. A sensible government will focus on the rehabilitation of the existing roads. I'm sure even the VP himself cannot name any route today that is in a greater need of a new federal road than for the repair of the existing one. |
obailala:Guy, why the focus on GEJ? The spokesman asked for new roads started and completed in the last 10 years. Was GEJ in power for 10 years? I don't understand this undue hatred for the man. Now to the question, why are you guys fixated on NEW roads? Are we really in dire need of new roads in this country or repairs and maintenance of the existing roads? If anybody wants to judge a government by construction of new roads, then Lagos will be one of the worst performing states, as construction of new roads in Lagos is nearly impossible, save for bridges and flyovers. Are you aware that to repair some existing roads, it costs over 80-90% of the amount it takes to construct brand new roads, especially when a complete overhaul of the road is done. Now can you point to me the routes in Nigeria where there are urgent needs for brand new federal roads. You guys should stop playing unnecessary politics with this road construction issue. Repair and maintenance of the existing federal roads is more important than constructing new ones, while the existing ones are in a bad shape. |
KanwuliaExtra:It's okay. You've made your choice, and you're convinced about it. I pray God grants you a new insight into The Truth. May His light illuminate your heart and launch you into eternal redemption. |
KanwuliaExtra:I understand your feelings but you know what, the fact that fake Samsung Galaxy smartphones are sold in Computer Village for example, doesn't make Samsung a crappy company. There are still real churches that transform the lives of people. I listen to people testify every Sunday of how their lives have been changed positively ever since they started coming to church. If you don't mind, I'll want to invite you to a church just for one service. Just one Sunday is what I'm asking you for. If the experience isn't worth it after that, then you can go on and boycott the Church for as long as you can stand it. I'll send you a pm, if u don't mind. Would you be kind enough to tell me d city where you live in your reply? I'll invite you to the one closest to you, most likely in your city or town. |
kaakulator3:Examination malpractice happens in all the states. Anambra clamped down on special centres yet still remained one of the topmost states in terms of performance. As at when Anambra closed down the centres in 2015, people were shouting that it was because of the centres that Anambra kept topping the charts, and that the state's performance would drop subsequently. By the time the latest statistics for 2015 came out, Anambra only dropped to the second position. Even if we assume the SE has been doing well based on malpractices, does that justify Osun being the 29th state in terms of WAEC performance, behind many northern states? |
kaakulator3:Leave the WAEC stats out of it. SE tops the SW in all educational indices currently, and there is nothing you can do about it. A handful of grammatical errors by a South Easterner won't invalidate the statistics that have been established by WAEC, NECO and JAMB for the past few years. Even on NL, you people do worse in this regard. A vivid example is the post made by your sister, Tosin just a few days ago. How did I know she's your sister? Just check out her signature. The post is simply a bank of grammatical blunders. Check it out. https://www.nairaland.com/2958015/ever-been-molested-male-doctor |
koboko69:Is the problem of Nigeria insufficient number of roads, or the fact that many existing roads aren't of standard quality or even motorable? Are you aware that in some cases, it costs more to rehabilitate some roads than brand new construction of road, especially in cases where the 'expired' coal tar has to be scraped off, and the road completely tarred again? What of the numerous roads dualized by GEJ's government? Didn't they involve construction of brand new roads/carriages? Must you defend every rubbish done or said by this pathetic government? |
I'm sure the doctor was suspecting Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, and wanted to do Vaginal Examination to check for Cervical Motion Tenderness. It most likely wasn't an attempted assault, as the op was insinuating. However, the doctor made a mistake by failing to call for a chaperone when he intended doing the VE. What if the girl pulled her skirt for him, only to start shouting of assault at the middle of the examination? How would the guy have defended himself? |
datola:Yes, it is not a small FEET. It is a big HAND. ![]() |
darlingtonNYIG:CAN is not presently as politicised as Mbaka's Catholic priesthood. |
doctokwus:Imagine the way you reason. I seriously SMH. In March 2015, both the president and Benue state governor were in PDP. Now, they're both in APC. So you think these 2 factors don't matter at all? Were you not among those making a noise that Onjeh would beat Mark hands down. Are you aware that thousands of people in Benue decamped from the PDP to APC when PDP lost both at the centre and in Benue? Even in Rivers State, thousands abandoned Wike within a week to the Supreme Court judgement, because they thought he would lose out and Dakuku would floor him at the rerun. Abeg, just forget about that point you're making. Mark has shown that he is a strong force in Nigerian politics, and should be respected. |
Elijahrona2:It's Chancellor, not Vice Chancellor. It's just a ceremonial position given often to traditional rulers from other regions of the country depending on the school in question. Igwe Achebe is the Chancellor of ABU or so. The VC is still the one who runs the school. |
Tufanja:I'm giving you a challenge right now: Counter ANY of the assertions I made there with facts. Bring up facts from any Ob/Gyn resource. You can post the link in your comment so that the other people you're 'instructing' can see for themselves. I'm eagerly waiting for you. In fact, you can invite you senior colleagues to come and counter my points. I'm taking it further away from you. You think I'm one that you can intimidate. You don't have enough stuff to do that yet. A doctor that doesn't understand what luteal phase of a menstrual cycle is, has not business discussing contraception. Going for night shift.... Hahaha. Trying to make yourself feel important. What has your going for night shift got to do with what we're discussing? I was waiting for you to take my points and dissect them, just like I did yours, but it's obvious you have nothing to present, rather than insult. Sorry, but I won't go down to your level. And BTW, this link explains my point about luteal phase and the egg lasting about 24 hours after ovulation. If you point out other parts of my post you disagree with, I will back them up. http://menstrupedia.com/articles/physiology/cycle-phases This one is about IUDs. Take note of this statement: "a copper IUD may cause more bleeding and cramping during periods." www.familyplanning.org.nz/advice/contraception/intra-uterine-device-iud |
Tufanja:You are the real ignorant one, and you are damn irritating. If you have a real knowledge of contraception, you wouldn't have spewed the rubbish you just spewed. Don't you understand what luteal phase of a menstrual cycle is? For crying out loud, I'm talking about the period after ovulation. Averagely, counting back 14 days from the start of a new menstrual period gives you the safe period (luteal phase) of the last cycle. Even for a woman who has a difference of 5 days between the longest and shortest cycle, a fair estimate can still be made as to the possible days in which ovulation can take place. And to make it clear to you since you lack detailed understanding, the issue of sperm lasting up to 5 days only matters if intercourse occurs up to 5 days prior to ovulation. In that case, we're looking at a woman with a regular 28 day cycle having intercourse on day 9 of her cycle. That can lead to pregnancy, since the sperm can last till day 14, in which ovulation would likely occur. For an intercourse that happens say on day 16 of a regular 28 day cycle, or 2 days clear after ovulation, it won't likely lead to pregnancy in most circumstances, as the egg would have died by then. I mentioned natural family planning done by Catholics to let you know that it works for many people. These are people who don't even use condoms, yet still manage to prevent pregnancy, even in unsafe periods. How much more couples that combine it with barrier methods? And yes, I never said it works for everybody. I only used that illustration to make a point. I asked you two questions: do women using Copper IUCD and those using COC pills bleed? I'm waiting for your answer. When you're done with that, tell me the mechanisms of action of copper IUCD. You clearly have inadequate knowledge, and I will advise you to seek for more knowledge. Don't come here and be yapping porous stuff. |
ddippset:Even in 2011, Buhari won Jonathan hands down in the core North, just that the margin was much less than in 2015. |
Tufanja:Abeg, close your mouth there! Who are you to teach me? I'm talking about a normal menstrual cycle, and the fact that the luteal phase is generally safe. Many Roman Catholics don't practice contraception as a result of their denominational faith, yet having intercourse only during the safe period works very well for them. If the woman isn't confident of the contraceptive method she adopted and will subject her husband to using barrier for the rest of his life, why not forget about whatever method she might have employed and stick to barrier during the unsafe period and no barrier during the safe period? And did the report mention that she used a hormonal contraceptive? What's your issue with my submission? Even at that, does Copper IUCD stop menses from happening? Even for those taking COC pills, they still bleed when the brown tablets are taken. For the rest, they often have some level of bleeding or spotting, but usually without any ensuing ovulation. You're talking about sperm lasting for up to 5 days. Who doesn't know that? What has it got to do with the luteal phase of the cycle, after the egg has died? The egg usually doesn't last more than 24 hours after ovulation, so what has the sperm lasting for 5 days got to do with the post-ovulation period? Abeg take a chill pill: Tabs Chill 500mg stat. It will calm you. |
kayfra:Interesting! Though I doubt the possibility of one small company getting as much cassava as can produce 50tons or more of cassava flour per day. |
Tufanja:On the contrary, she isn't very well informed. The luteal phase of the menstrual cycle is generally safe for all women. Within 24 hours of ovulation, the egg is already dead. That woman cannot get pregnant till some days after the next menses. For an average 28 day-cycle, it means the woman has at least 13 days post ovulation in which there is zero chance of conception, before the next menses. Why can't she give her husband these 13 days, while she insists on condoms on the other days? |
kayfra:Even at that, let's assume 1 bag of cassava flour weighs 50kg, just like a bag of rice. 1 ton = 20 bags 20 tons = 400 bags = 1 container 900 containers = 900 x 400 = 360,000 bags 360,000 bags is approximately 1,000 bags everyday including weekends for a whole year. Please which fictitious company can singlehandedly achieve this feat in Nigeria? |
NgeneUkwenu:Since it's all about PDP, let me ask you a few questions: How many of the nations you listed were administered by PDP over the past 16 years? How come they are all facing economic woes? When the NGF led by Amaechi took the FG to court over the sharing of ECA, what was your opinion? You guys were supporting the governors because their move was against the FG, and every move against Jonathan's government was welcomed by you. What did the APC states achieve with their share of the ECA? Despite the heavy allocation that accrued to states in those 16 years, none of the former opposition states achieved anything whether in terms of projects or savings. Lagos still has the largest debt burden today, despite the state being run at over 400 billion naira per annum. The last time I knew about LASG debt, it was over 500 billion naira, and that was prior to the last approved debt for the state. Osun State governor also got several billions of naira from the ECA and squandered the money on Opon Imo and the world's tallest talking drum amidst other frivolities. Imo state governor spent his own paying salaries to school pupils and students of the state. Today, both states are the symbols of "brokeness" among all the states in Nigeria. The only governor that clearly saved for the rainy day was Peter Obi, and it was from his savings that Obiano has been transforming Anambra State ever since. If the states that were run by APC especially Lagos didn't demonstrate financial propriety over the years of plenty, and if there are many more nations that are currently going through economic woes apart from Nigeria, on what basis have you been accusing the PDP for the present challenges? |
Hope it's not Muhammed Kudu Abubakar of NTA. |
magicfingers009:You should be asking Buhari and Kachikwu. Do I look like the Minister of Petroleum or his Minister of State? |
Aufbauh:He said Eastern Region and not South East geopolitical zone. There is a clear cut difference between both. Rivers state was part of the Eastern Region before the creation of states by Gowon. So many kids on Nairaland. SMH. |
