whitebeard:Honestly, many so called Christians are out there attacking pastors because they don't have information. Most churches don't publicise their charitable works, and that's why people assume churches (especially the GOs) do nothing apart from eating money given by members. We truly need to balance the reports. cc Lalasticlala |
freedomforall30:It's not all accidents that happen due to bad roads. From the pictures, you can see the road is very good. This a clear case of bad driving. May their souls rest in peace. |
Flets:I don't know if you're a believer or not. If you're one, then you should know it's the devil that is using Freeze. The believers in the early church gave everything they owned. People sold all their property and gave the proceeds to the church. Today, people are arguing about 10%. If Christians are discouraged from giving to the church, the gospel will be hindered. |

meforyou1:Only THE FOOL says there is no God. I have seen enough to know that you have no point. |
Abudu2000:Did he steal your money? Did he put gun on anybody's head and mandate them to give any money? There are so many people that go to church but don't pay their tithes. Many don't give more than 200 naira offering per week. The people that give the millions to the church do it willingly. It is their money and they have the right to spend it the way they want. Why is it a problem for you guys that some people decide to spend their money on pastors? Why? Are you just bitter and jealous that pastors are living a good life? The so called Daddy Freeze that is condemning pastors and explaining the Bible, what charitable works has he done with his influence and money? Freeze has so much influence that he can start orphanages, set up schools for the indigent. Freeze can set up a foundation to help poor and helpless people with their education and other stuff. How much has he done with his influence apart from attacking pastors? |
Abudu2000:I reject you in Jesus name. May God judge you accordingly. I shall not die but live to declare the word of God. |
bedspread:People play with fire. They insult things beyond their understanding. Miriam accused Moses (her younger brother) rightly, yet God judged her. This almost-wh*re has the audacity to call Pastor Adeboye devil. I'll be here watching what will become of her. |
HtwoOw:They are being careful about publicity cos they can't meet up with so much demands if they start coming. |
Jigba:The article clearly stated that he destroyed the shrines ON THE INVITATION OF THE CONVERTS. He was invited to come and do it by the same people who were formerly part of the group but now Christians. |
aribisala0:Could you remind me who the Yoruba presidential materials are? |
spartacus11:Rotimi Amaechi worked very well in his first tenure as a PDP governor. As soon as he joined APC, he became completely useless. Imo State thrived better under PDP Ohakim than the useless CockRochas. The fine gentleman that transformed Cross River State (Donald Duke) was a PDP governor. Sullivan Chime was one of the finest governors in terms of developmental strides before 2015,and he was a PDP governor. I gave these examples to show you that your Edo example holds no water. There are good and bad people both in PDP and APC. I hated PDP when they were in power, but having seen APC, I will rather have PDP. It's not as if I supported APC during the election. Deep down within me, I wish both APC and PDP will die, and these crop of leaders we have completely cleared from our political environment. Maybe then we may have a fresh crop of leaders who will have the interest of the people at heart. This is still an impossible wish, cos it is the people that make the leaders. The people are as corrupt as the leaders are, just that many haven't had the opportunity to handle leadership positions. |
spartacus11:Bro, don't make it about PDP now. The ills of the 16 years is a reflection of the extent of our degradation as a country and as a people. Nigeria wasn't worse in those 16 years than in the preceding 20 years. Apart from that, there were state governments which weren't PDP within the same time period but they weren't better. Borno for example has never had a PDP government. Even some of the states that have been in opposition for upwards of 8 years are in worse situation than their PDP counterparts. Osun, Nasarawa etc are real examples. That said, APC has shown us clearly that they have nothing to offer, so why are you harping on PDP? |
igbodefender:First, EVERYBODY is tired of Buhari's government, but the north has done only 4 years. If Buhari does another 4 years after 2019, will Nigeria survive? It's still early to liberate Nigeria from his hands, and it has to be a northerner. Secondly, northerners feel grieved that out of the 18 years of democracy thus far, they have only done 4 years while the south has done almost 14 years. By 2019, it will be 6 years for the north and 14 years for the south. You see why they may want to do another 8 years by 2019 so that they will equal the years of southern rule, then the cycle can start afresh from the south. |
NwaChibuzor13:Oga, how do you know they don't do philanthropy work? How do you know they don't pay fees for the indigent people or feed the widows and orphans? I guess it's because you have not read it on Nairaland or seen it carried by Linda Ikeji. Why do we think it's everybody who gives that broadcasts it? |
igbodefender:Loses to who in 2023? It's not likely a new political heavyweight from the north will want to struggle for power in 2023 after the north has had it for 8 years and is going for the 3rd round, so there won't likely be a strong opposition from the north. Any strong opposition in 2023 will be from the south west or less likely south south, and you can be sure it won't sail thru when the north and south east are supporting him in 2023. If Atiku wins in 2019, he will most definitely win again in 2023. He can never be as terrible, bigoted, ethnocentric and divisive as Buhari. I'm not campaigning for Atiku though. |
igbodefender:If Igbos vote Atiku and he wins in 2019, even if the North rules till 2027 and power shifts back to the south, which zone in the south will have a better bargaining power by then? The argument for Igbos then will be that under PDP, both south south and south west have tasted presidency. Let the south east have it. As for APC, the argument will be totally different. Tinubu will remind you in 2023 that he was the one that made APC come into power, even when all Igbos voted against it. Buhari will likely promise to hand over presidency to him (and the Yorubas) just to get Tinubu's support in 2019. Also, do you think Osinbajo won't want to taste presidency after 8 years as VP, or you think Tinubu will so easily relinquish control at the central government to undeserving Igbos? Igbo presidency will mean vice presidency for the north, and the best Yorubas can get is senate presidency. In essence, if Buhari completes his term in 2023 (that's if he wins in 2019), power will definitely shift back to the south west under APC. That I am 100% sure of. |
obatoro:Bro, I was careful to say, 'some' and I knew what I was saying. Compare pentecostal churches like Deeper life, Assemblies of God, Mountain of Fire to churches like Christ Embassy, Living Faith, Redeemed etc. In the former churches, giving isn't taught that much and many members live in poverty. In the latter churches, giving is actively taught and fewer members live in poverty. Let's forget Catholic Church and orthodox churches now. That's where you have the most corrupt Christians in Nigeria. Majority of the corrupt politicians, occult people, armed robbers, prostitutes, fraudsters, kidnappers etc who go to church attend catholic and orthodox churches. Mind you, I was born an Anglican, and still attend Anglican church occasionally. |
Freshbank:Same way Wenger owns Arsenal ---- Arsene Wenger ![]() |
obatoro:At the end, money is meant to circulate. Money definitely flows. If you don't take d money from those members willing to give you on their own, other things will take d money. Accepting money from those who gave you willingly isn't greed. Those that don't accept may not be more righteous than those who do. Now let me ask you this, have you noticed that some of the churches where giving (tithes, offerings, seed sowing etc) isn't taught and people rarely give either to the pastors or directly to the church, has some of the poorest members? Many of the churches where a good proportion of their members are living comfortably are churches where people give. If you realise that the saying, "givers never lack" is true, then you will understand why churches that raise givers have more prosperous members. Even Jesus said, it is more blessed to give than to receive. |
iambabaG:You need to realise something. None of these pastors forces any member to give to them. There are thousands of members in many of these "high flying" churches who don't give more than 200 naira per week as offering. Some don't give their tithes. How do these guys (pastors) get so much money? The people they pastor, who regard them as mentors and fathers give them voluntarily. The pastors have been a blessing to people, so they give them out of their free will. Let me give you an example. A pastor prays for a contractor who has been struggling financially and tells him that he will get a very huge contract before the month runs out. By the 3rd week of the month, the guy lands a contract of 200 million naira and makes a profit of 50 million after executing it. Do you think such a guy will find it difficult going back to bless the same pastor that prophesied that increase in his life with a token of 5 million naira? You may ask me how often this happens. It's crazily very frequent, though not just about contracts, neither does it always involve huge amounts of money. Some rich and influential men and women have also been mentored by these pastors and they have become the best of them. People who had been struggling with various addictions and mess in their lives have been liberated by the power of God thru the ministries of these pastors. Many of these men of God have changed the lives of men. Is it bad if they reap material things from the same people they bless? People celebrate boys like Wizkid, Davido etc who have been more of a nuisance to our societies than a blessing. They can pay thousands of naira just to attend their shows thereby enriching them the more. These are guys that model everything bad for the younger generation, but people strive hard to make them richer. The pastors that now labour to bless and change the lives of countless people should live in poverty? Na lie! |
NwaAmaikpe:I just don't understand this guy. Very weird, yet has a lot of information and ideas. Seems to know something about everything. |
Kobicove:It's Romania not UK, France or Germany. Romania is an Eastern European country, and isn't that rich. Their girls just like Ukrainian girls are more likely to genuinely fall in love with black guys than girls from Western Europe. As a matter of fact, Ukrainian girls love to date black guys. Also, nobody looks for Romanian citizenship or passport, so no need to marry their oldies. |
kinibigdeal:Talking about d voting, you needed about 180 votes to make 1% of 18000, so the 26% wouldn't have changed even if you got 50 people to vote, except if many other people voted for Atiku about that same time. Mind you that votes given to Buhari within the same period will cancel out Atiku's, so it's the net increase in the number of voters that matters. To set the records straight, I am not pro-Buhari. |
mu2sa2:I agree with you. Frankly speaking, Nigerian English seems like vernacular when you hear English people speak for the first time (in real life). Mehn, you can't understand much if you aren't used to their accent. Scottish accent is worse. For the first few weeks/months, you'll be lost when Scottish people are talking with you. For an 11 year old child, the experience will be obviously worse. |
BrainnewsNg:d He's a soldier not an officer. There is a difference. Officers are either NDA graduates or university graduates who have gone thru short service course or direct short service course, and have been commissioned as officers, with ranks ranging from 2nd lieutenant to General. On the other hand, soldiers don't have to be graduates and can join the army at any age, even with only SSCE (less than that for northerners eg Buhari). Their ranks are lower than that of officers, and range from private to master warrant officer. Soldiers take instructions from officers. |
EponOjuku:Here they come again with the useless bragging. That's how Osun state had higher IGR than the entire South East as at 2-3 years ago. Today, Osun is an IDP state. Ogun's quarterly IGR is larger than the annual IGR of the entire South East yet the state depends on FG bailout. You deserve pity. Facts on ground speak for themselves. And if you don't know, the investments happening in Ogun state today is still the Lagos factor. Companies coming into Nigeria today and even indigenous ones build their factories in Ogun, since it's extremely difficult and crazily expensive getting sizeable land for industrial purposes in Lagos now. Ogun is simply riding under the influence of Lagos. Even a cousin of mine that lived at Ketu for years, has built his house at Magboro. It's much the same way Mararaba has far more population and activities than the rest of Nasarawa State simply because it's close to Abuja. Lagos economy isn't even the economy of Yoruba alone, so there is nothing for Yorubas to sustain. I would have taken you serious if a nearly homogeneous Yoruba economy (with little influence of outsiders) like Ibadan is anything to write home about. |
EponOjuku:Quit your useless bragging cos you're no different from the Igbos that claim Lagos. While I disagree that Lagos is a no man's land, I will maintain that Igbos and all other ethnic nationalities are extremely important in sustaining the economy of Lagos. Lagos is what it is today because of the population and infrastructure it has, and they both have a positive feedback effect on each other. That's why a multinational company entering Nigeria for the first time will rather site their office in Lagos than elsewhere. The same way Lagos is important to Igbos, Igbos are also important to Lagos. Take all Igbos away from Lagos and watch the economy of Lagos become terribly stunted, cos Yorubas alone CANNOT sustain the economy of Lagos. The success of Lagos is akin to the success of the United States. Concentrate some of the best of several nationalities and ethnicities under a good infrastructural and social environment, and see overwhelming development in every sector. |
Doctee:You Muslims are funny really. Your Quran was created from the Old testament, and the so called religion is modified and adulterated Judaism, yet you all have the effrontery to call Jews and Christians infidels. Where are your brains? It's just like when someone photocopies a book, uses tip ex to clean some of the prints and hand writes other meaningless stuff inside the photocopy, then tomorrow he begins to claim that his adulterated and mutilated photocopy document is the real thing. I'm stunned at the reasoning of you guys. |
Hashimyussufamao:Hope you're aware there are more males than females in Nigeria based on the last census and current population projection? |
thesicilian:Hahaha. With time, you can own half of the land in the village. Luk atew! |
thesicilian:That could be a business for you, you know. Make some shoes and go and sell to them. You only need to pray that they can afford to pay. Lol |
