J saw on the German embassy website that you must not come in with phones. Guys who have gone for interview, how did you do it. Does it make sense to keep my phone on silence mode?

Better just turn it off whilst you are there. You can silent it but turning it off is safer.

Honestly, at this rate, this group will only go stale.

Pls guys, I want to ask what's the procedure to move down to Germany with my 3years old baby for my Msc as I have secured my admission letter and block account.... Kindly help guys

How much is your Block account? You need to have in addition to your own BA, i think between 4-5k Euros in your BA for your son. if you don't have that, you might not get your VISA. @heybaby can shed more light.

Good afternoon E-fam please getting a part time job in DE, is it a must your job will be related to the course you are studying ?

How is the relationship of germans and international students most especially africans?

Securing accomodation in school dorms or apartments in cities which is one is better and cheaper? .

1. It is not a must.

2. With germans, up to you. With Africans, its complicated, especially the French speaking Camerounians.

3. Irrelevant question. Is rent off campus in Nigeria cheaper than school hostel?

Please gurus who knows when Ludwig Maximilians University opens for winter 2019 applications?

I don't understand some of us. You think calling people names such as "guru" will solve your problem. Plz let that laziness go with 2018. How do you expect someone else to leave what he is doing to check a school you wanna apply to is gonna resume collation of applications from applicants. Oga reason am na. Later y'all will claim people are been harsh and unhelpful.

For the benefit of doubt, lemme assume you haven't come across this website www.daad.de. Use it to check on LMU's date OK.

Pay me 500 Euros out of that money and i'd do it. 1000 with admission application sef join.

The thing is, our people like to be lied to. I said all I said because of some pms I have been getting many times asking me some yeye questions. I wish you best of lucks but information is priceless. One of my guys got one crazy school in a better place and i was like what? had i known....i no wan make you yell like me. All things are possible, that i know; but its easier and flexible someplace. If you think say i be Olodo, you are right. If you think otherwise, you are equally right too. But if you are my brother, i will tell you same. Some people are where they pay rent for 180 euro per month here. Some of us pay 350 to 450 per month. If you add insurance, you know what you are obliged to pay in a month. If you add feeding and leisure cost, do the Maths. Shebi BA na almost same amount of money? No be the same DE we still dey? No be same Cert we go get las las? no be same Payper we go still get las las? no be d same sitizensheep we go get las las? why go where e go hard you?

I believe in the winner in you.

K'emesia.

My brother, well said. Just understand that the truth about DE will always scare one.

Like he said, arm yourself with the language.
Secondly, not like i have anything against going to big cities o, but if you have a chance or option of a smaller city, take the smaller city biko. Especially if it gives you what you want academically.

Imagine paying rent of 350+Insurance of 100+feeding of 150. What is left of your Fintiba payout is just 100 Euros or less when you can save up to 300 in a smaller city.

Happy Sunday guys

Weldone Chief! Can you please share more about your area? Are there readily jobs and accommodation and an estimate of how much you spend monthly. Thank you so much!

Jobs: Difficult if your Deutsche is Schlecht like mine. But many jobs abound especially in nearby cities. I got one or two in Siegen too. So its fair to say its fair.
Accommodation is very much available and affordable. Estimate is 400/450 Euros if you not a big spender.

sup Kent

how's it going up there?

its nice having you around, kindly brief us on how the lecture is structured in you school and how you've been coping with studies and hustle

Danke

Ok. Lectures are just normal. The only challis adapting to the new syllabus. I studied Economics In Nigeria and coming here, was expecting it to be a walk over. Well, I struggled for the first few months. I'd have to run back home or head to library after each class to go through what was taught cos I wasn't making head nor tail out of it. I practically left this group to catch a breath especially as it was seeming as though 24hrs wasn't enough for me. Today, it's a lot better than it was in October last year. Am not get there but I thank God for progress. What helped was that I'd set my priorities right. The little advise I can give to y'all is read up on what you coming here to study. If possible, get materials of your course if you lucky enough to get in touch with someone over here in your department and be always one step ahead.
As for hustle, I bone hustle o esp as I wasn't having joy initially. Since we have settled that one, hustle mode is on now. Some decide to not work till second semester, some work from the start, whatever works for you man.

That will be all for now. I hope that's good enough.

All the best bro

Mine was deposed to the head of my family with his full names but his passport was not attached. Only my passport appears. But his full name is clearly written. Do I need to do another one?

Better to do it right. The right way I know is that the pic of the supposed head of your family ought to be there with his/her signature. It don't cost that much though, so doing a new one won't hurt, if need be though.

Hello House,
I'm new here. Please i need information on how i can secure admission in Germany. I have gone through the DAAD website but i'm confused about their grade calculations. I graduated with 3.73 in Marketing and i wanted to go for MBA program by September next year.

Your German GPA is about 1.9-2.0 which is very OK for admission. So you just have to go back to www.Daad.de to look out for courses and school that meet your career goals. I don't subscribe to people suggesting schools to people. It's your life and destiny so you gotta make that personal decision yourself. A bunch of us spent nights finding and finally deciding on what school to eventually go for. As for my, I suggest prayerfully going about it.

Aite. All the best bro

Hello gurus here. I have a question on behalf of a friend preparing to school in Germany MSC. He went for interview on Friday. He planed using sponsorship letter, which a German Nigerian woman residing in naija for now promised to assist. Here is the challenge. The sponsor is scared if he will be able to get work to be doing while schooling as he has a very tight budget, for this reason she hasn't gone to the embassy to secure the sponsorship letter for him. Note he is planning to go to school at TU Bergakademie Freiberg in Saxony state. How possible and fast is getting student jobs in this location and its environ? So that he can in turns convince this woman as time is not really on his side.

Good morning,

First of all, she can't get that letter for him in Nigeria. She'll have to go back to her state in Germany to get it.

Secondly, he is not her responsibility. All she needs to do is hand him the letter and he is left to fend for himself, accommodation and all what not inclusive. Not like she is really gonna be checked upon from time to time to know if she is feeding him well or not.

As for getting jobs, you'll have to get there first or hear more from guys over there. Use facebook to find Nigerians in his city. I used that too.

As for beating time, he can use a block account to attend his interview while hoping that his messiah travels back to Germany on time to get him the letter.

All the best.

Good day everyone.
On filling the visa form, I have a few questions to clarify.
First is on #6 on the form that requests for "intended place of stay in Germany".
I applied for school dorm hostel accommodation. Not gotten yet. I also have a friend doing Masters in my intended school. He is willing to welcome me upon arrival anyway. So can I fill in his details or just fill in the location of my campus and postal code??

Second question is on #13 on the application form, " means of subsistence"
I hope to us SL as BA money still far fetched. But for the sake of the interview I will claim to fund after interview. My question is, am I to fill in SL or BA as means of financial support when I get to Germany or my present means of subsistence which is Salary earner??

Third is on #9, "if applicable, intended employment". My question is since I intend doing student job when I must have settled, should I fill " student job" or leave it blank since my main aim is studies? Thanks!

6. Do as you just advised yourself now. Input your school details and post code.

9. Input studies. We all going there to take up part time jobs but we don't have to make it that easy for them to reject us na.

13. If SL ain't ready by then, input BA there. You can always present SL whenever it's ready. Be hasty about it making it available though.

Hope that helps

Good morning family.

It's been a while. Glad to see that many of us are receiving admissions, receiving dates, AMs and even gone as far as securing accommodation and booking our flights to DE. My prayer for everyone of us is that our expectations shall all be met in Jesus name.
For those yet to be admitted, try again. For those without dates, go back, restrategise, then reapply. For those yet to find and as such without AM, God is still the Lord over the cattles in the mountains. He still saves the day. He hasn't ran out of miracles. Just stay believing and don't give up.

To my fellow Siegenites, see you guys real soon.

It all ends in praise as always.

thanks for the reply, but must the account funding be 8 thousand euros, besides I'm a graduate student, what it I get a scholarship.

If you get a scholarship, you don't need an SL or BA. One of the three need be presented for visa to be granted.
The account must be equal to always €8700 for it to be confirmed. If it ain't confirmed, hence not blocked, embassy ain't gonna answer you o
