Politics / Re: 'That's Not Democracy" - Sanusi Sule, Others Knock Seun Osewa by khadaffi(m): 3:21pm On Oct 31, 2021
Seun:
They would be more interested in politics if it wasn't dominated by men and the things men care about. If 50% of NASS was female the things females care more about such as how to ensure that all girls are allowed to go to school, how to take care of women and children in refugee camps, how to protect women from sexual assault and domestic violence, etc would be in the news more often and women would be more interested. In other words, women don't care about politics because politics is dominated by men and focused on men's issues.

Oga seun I'm disappointed about this statement of yours especially the bolded part because I know you are not a kid. But for others who might see this statement as valid it is important we quickly educate them that the major reason women are not in politics has nothing with what Seun said above but rather due to our history. Nigeria moved from military to democracy and our military men became the Democratic leaders. In the days when the military were in power, women were not accepted in the military hence when the system of government changed from military to democracy majority of the military guys who had looted the country easily became politicians. They were able achieve this by making interest forms in political party very high. Infact you have to be either a thief or past politician to be able to easily purchase forms for the major political party. Either way, it's not easy to find a woman/lady thief so you don't expect to see them in politics. However the case, in 1999 some women were in the Senate house. An example was senator Daisy Ehanire Danjuma who represented my state. Please I will like to ask you Seun, even if you have to browse to answer me : what was her contribution as a woman in the Senate? Considering what she did why should anyone still vote for her? It is important I also point out here that she was famous for always painting her nails while important discuss will be ongoing.

Please we should forget about women or whatever but rather channel our energy to campaign that the prices of interest forms in political parties be reduced to a level where a minimum wage worker of at least 18years old will be able to afford it whether male or female. If an 18 years old can vote, he should also be allowed to contest and everyone should also be allowed to contest regardless of the income you earn. This is a better campaign not the one our Oga wrote up there.

I'm actually laughing at the Nigerian army right now. But let take a minute and examine what's going on then one begins to imagine why the Economist or whatever shit-name they're called are centered on rubbishing Nigerian army. Is it not UK that were chased out of Afghanistan by ragtag Taliban militants. And we didn't even hear anyone speak I'll of them rather the entire blame went to the US. The NA are still standing strong fighting the militants the UK ran away from. Please the Economist should shut up and focus on other important job. That is not excusing the NA. Our problem right now is not NA but Buhari.

Humm! Quite educative, many thanks.
Yet I can't reconcile this with "right to self defence". It means it doesn't exist when you are under fire arm attack. It sounds as if we are put in a cage.

This is the position in Nigeria. Unfortunately anytime this argument comes up I am always in support that decent and law abiding Nigerians should be given weapons to protect themselves because personally I believe that if violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police and he fears neither law court or judge. Therefore what he must be taught to fear is his victim.

Please always do a search before opening a thread. This question have been asked severally here and it has also been answered. No weapon is licensed for self defense in Nigeria. In Nigeria the security agencies are to protect you. Those private individuals that have guns in Nigeria are hunters and only hunting weapons can be licensed for them such as Dane guns, pump action etc. Recently another category of civilians with weapons are the vigilante. So either you are a vigilante or a hunter you are not allowed to brandish weapon in public else you will be arrested.

Depending on the facilities available in the class room.

Was incharge of a class of over 60 students, not everyone would be truly carried along but for noise. They don't try that shit in my class

Regardless of the facility a class should not exceed 15. I think the required standard in Nigeria is 15 student to 1 teacher for basic education but no one follows this rule.

Politics / Re: Who Signed The 1914 Amalgamation? by khadaffi(m): 9:44pm On Oct 03, 2021
This question shows how much of history we know here. In order to understand this clearer you need to go back to precolonial era of the various parts of Nigeria then read on how and why the British came here and their mission here. This question is long history and there is no way we can shorten it. In summary, these guys you mentioned above only became relevant after Nigeria was amalgamated but prior to that event each part of the country had each person, group or individual they look up to.
Also while you are on it, read on how they set up Unilever in Nigeria. Who did the British pay to aquire that company? This part of the story is relevant to your answer.

I don't know about MC oluomo. What I know is what I'm saying. Our senators and governors sell these slots through 3rd party. It's really shameful to say the least. Even Npower at a point was even turning to what they wanted to sell before some media houses started reporting of the incidence. Whether it's still for sale is what I don't know. Agencies I've witnessed people selling and buying is immigration, customs and Ndlea.

Don't be deceived, they do sell. There are genuine sellers. The problem is identifying them. For instance most federal jobs are allocated to senators, governors etc. If you are able to meet them, they will sell to you. I've seen this happen repeatedly. It's in the private sectors we have lots of scammers for example in shell, Chevron etc lots of scammers using these agencies to help themselves.

please how do I stop these.

If you are within the age of 13 to 22, it's normal. Once you age a bit, the pimples will stop. What I did then in my case was to stop applying cream like you did, always wash my face and clean it with royalux. I can't even remember if there was any change then but once I crossed the age of 22 everything disappeared

Where do the politicians get their jumbo pay from?

Please forget about that fake jumbo pay line. Majority (if not all) of the politicians are thieves. There is a difference between stealing and earning big. From your politicians to your ministers to governors, even president and our local councilors and chairman.

Now let me give you a practical example before you start quoting me unnecessarily. It should have been assumed that as at when Sambo Dasuki was NSA, he was given jumbo pay right? But investigations revealed that the guy stole the money allocated to the defense ministry. This is money that was supposed to be used in equipping the army because of Boko Haram. Now the interesting part is that this money that was stolen was not even Nigeria's money. It was borrowed and approved by the Senate. Only for it to end in a private pocket.

Even your commissioners in the state. For example you wouldn't want to know how much the education commissioner generates illegally from private schools in the southern part of Nigeria. If proper investigation is carried out, you will discover that most of your politicians are living above their pay. Some of them are already admittiuthis error.

Talking about the jumbo pay, politicians are not the only ones involved. It includes PS, VC for universities etc. If you are looking at getting money from reducing people's income, that means you will be reducing a lot of civil servants income. Do you know the type of instability that can cause? The civil servants are the most corrupt institution in Nigeria and if there is a reduction today every body will go to the streets shouting e- cho- be! Many will sit at home insisting the government reverse the policy. Should the government refuse, you are looking at a scenario where some senior doctors, lawyers etc will leave the job without even writing a resignation letter. Good luck with anyone that chooses to toe that part

They didn't steal them. The US could also not have forgotten them. They left it behind for the Taliban to use.
I don't want to believe that Taliban captured these from the Afghan army because it doesn't make any sense. If the Afghan Army use these in the war against the Taliban they would have escaped the country with it.
They paraded themselves flying one chopper. Soon they will parade themselves flying a black hawk or a raptor

The Taliban have already executed a translator using the black hawk. The person was hung while the black hawk was flying. The video is on YouTube but it was blurred because of YouTube policy. But you can check online for the original version.

But wait o I want to ask, why didn't the American government pack all these military stuff away. Why did they leave them? Even if they didn't themselves need them again why did they not sell them to other countries? Because I know one thing and that is that these military vehicles and stuff are expensive. Except of course there is an agreement between the Americans and the Taliban.

How many times will you guys be told it's the equipment of the Afghanistan army. The Afghan army left the equipment for the Taliban not the US

These are the questions journalist should be asking our politicians, so the electorates can form a decision based on the response.

How can the cost of governance be so expensive in Nigeria given the kind funds available to run the country?

One thing you don't know is that the politicians in this part of the world are clueless and if you expect anything sensible from them then you are both in the same boat. All politicians form an idea from what is being discussed in the streets, social media, etc. They don't have anything new to bring to the table. Quit believing in them. Can you imagine in this day and era in Ekpoma, Edo state, there is no water. No borehole, no nothing like drinkable or bathing water. Lucky Igbinedion said the demonic spirits were the cause, Oshiomhole came and insulted Igbinedion making jest of him, Obaseki is here now and the problem remain unsolved. Anyone who thinks Nigeria is rich should be able to easily tell us where the country can get $89 billion without borrowing.

whether they 300,000 or not, isnt d question. d question is this, is it pakistan that made d afghan military not to defend their country? how did d west give up on afghanistan? in what capacity is Saleh fighting d taliban?

The Afghan military has collapsed, we know. As to your question.it is both yes and no. Using the words of the recent commodore, when you're fighting an insurgency you go for the center of gravity, which in this case is the person(s) sponsoring and training the group. In this case Pakistan is liable. It is No because Pakistan didn't just get up and ask the Afghanistan military not to fight. It is in the news that corruption led to the collapse of the military. As to what capacity Saleh is fighting, bro that question is unnecessary. In any democracy, if for any reason the president is unavailable, the vice should take over. Why isn't the US and other western countries recognizing that the vice is still there fighting but it is convenient for them to spew rubbish that every Afghan politicians ran out of the country which in this case is not true. Probably because of the collapse of the military.

The truth is that the Afghanistan army was not up to 300,000 forces. What is being brandished are just the theoretical aspect. The Taliban was supported by most Generals in Pakistan and this would have given them some edge.

And lastly Afghanistan are still fighting, they haven't given up yet. Saleh, the vice president is still there fighting. It is the west that have given up on Afghanistan.

Na wa oo. You went to war in the first place to fight terrorists but now have left them with more sophisticated weapons and resources they could ever imagine to terrorise and cause more havoc. Don't be surprised if some of these weapons find their way to ISIS, Al Shabab even Boko Haram. The Taliban might simply start selling to them, making a business out of it.

They might not sell the weapons to those guys you mentioned up there considering that when they sell it, there will be no way to get another. What I fear are the planes that can be used to gather intelligence. If the Taliban decides to go rogue which we all know would happen, most of their neighbors would be in deep s**t.
