Christianity EtcRe: Christians: Can a Non-Christian Go to Heaven? by kimba(m): 10:57am On Apr 19, 2006
@balogun
There we go again. All you christians think you are right and everybody is wrong. There is no point in ever arguing with you lot because you have tunnel vision. You need to have an open mind about things and not believe what everybody has told you. Kimba you need to go out more and do some good to your fellow man. Not preach to them!!
You know, its a great thing to have tunnel vision as long as its Jesus you are tunneling into.

THere are many who tunneled into one problem or the other after their agreement with Satan.

You need to have an open mind about things and not believe what everybody has told you
You had an open mind, and got informed about NL, thats why you are here. You had an open mind and got informed thats why you profess what you profess.

I have an open mind, got informed about who Jesus was, and thats why im on His side. I went a step further and proved Him to be true. Are you planning to take me out or something, the greatest good that one can do to his fellow man is to show him the truth. In every facet of life(physical, spirutual, material emotional, academic,love, life, you can continue) the truth sets free.

Christianity EtcRe: Gospel Of Barnabas: Judas Did Not Betray Jesus? by kimba(m): 8:22am On Apr 18, 2006
I thought this thread has ended o, i didnt know that my guy jagulabi was still rooting for Judas!

Hey, Hey, Hey, Easter is Over, Judas is Dead, Jesus is Alive,

@jagunalbi and his Judas crew - the only thing you can do about that is NoThInG

On a more serious note: what is happening here is a candid example of why Nigeria is not progressing. I can see that the Judas Crew is still laboring to prove what judas himself did not bother to wait and prove. He killed himself. He committed murder. Murder is a sin.

@jagunlabi
JUDAS WAS AND IS A CHRISTIAN HERO!
rephrase - Judas is your hero, and yours only, not of Christians!!!
You know you havent really explained yourself. From the quality time you have spent promoting falsehood about Jesus Christ on Nairaland, if you could use this to do some quality research into Science and technology, maybe you could change something in this world, and earn yourself an extra pay. You havent told us whether you are a Muslim or whaever religion you profess, but all you've had to waste your time saying on the past 5-threads clearly show you are not a Christian.

You had even mentioned that you attended "Services" and no one needed to tell you what goes on in Church. You havent clarified who is the babalawo pastor of that service, and what kind of fairy tale your pastor reads to you, because its clearly not the Bible.

So since you are not a Christian, what is the importance of Judas being a hero or a villain in the Christian story? Since Jesus has no relevance to you, why are you bothered about Judas. As i said, this is a candid example of how we like problem here in Nigeria, the kind of problem that God himself didnt toast us with, we carry it and put it on our head. You are not going to prove to the whole wide world that Judas helped Jesus in any way. Nairaland is not going to get you to the heights of blasphemy you wish to achieve.

I can suppose you are in the team of a certain Reverand here on Nairaland promoting a new doctrine that Mary Magdalene and Jesus had some love-thing going on together. See, why don't you put your papers right with that Reverend. If two of you can argue on a point, maybe you can make the Sun turn red. He's talking about Jesus in a relationship with Mary magdalene, and you're talking about Jesus and Judas. After you finish this topic, whats the next one you'll talk about.

You have contradicted yourself many times. O boy, at least even if one has to tell a lie, you should have known the kind of lie, and the magnitude of your former tale before you add another one to the story.

Oga Ijele
Was it Program That Jesus should be betrayed? If yes
Yes
Why should Judas be blamed when he was chosen to do that?
Judas was not chosen by anybody to betray Jesus. He chose Himself. The Bible never mentioned that a certain disciple Bleep will betray the Lord. Nobody's name was penned down. Its like this: twas never written of any armed robber that he/she would become one and rot in jail. The day that person decided to deviate from the right path, he became vile.
If Christ death on cross was to Redemed Mankind,Then Judas should be made Saint Cause he actually has a hand in Salvation?
You don't even understand your own question
Did God Programmed Christ Death on Cross? if yes, But he said 'thou Shall not kill'?
God did not kill Jesus. Man, out of the wickedness of his heart did. But God knew that man would do it, thats why twas already prophesied that the Jesus would "die" for the sins of mankind. The Bible says, without the shedding of blood, theres no remission for sin. The offering of a sacrifice(animal) was a practice in Israel, read your Bible very well,

@welborn
don't waste your time with these peeps, i mean Jagunlabi and the Judas crew. They aint ready to listen. Its like when you see a mand man smiling to you on the street, you'll make yourself just like he is if you start smiling back.

@nightrider
Judas is in hell. Jesus is in heaven. I'm on my way to heaven to meet him. I love him and he loves me
Judas just appointed some new lawyers and Jagunlabi is the Chief counsel. He wants his judgment in hell to be thrown out of court. O boy, its too late.  grin grin grin

Judas is in Hell, Jagunlabi, theres nothing you can do about it
Jesus is in Heaven, Jagunlabi, theres nothing you can do about it

who would you like to partner with, would you prefer to go see Judas at the end of time, and continue this discussion with him, till the end of eternity, or you'll rather choose the Son of God, Jesus is His name,

the ball is in your court o,
Christianity EtcRe: Politicians And Pastors: The Two Things Holding Nigeria Back! by kimba(m): 8:03am On Apr 18, 2006
Listen here and listen good:

It aint any politician or any pastor that is holding Nigeria back, or to ransome for anything. The problem with Nigeria is the people, including me.

The problem with Nija is that we would accept any new tricks politicians and pastors throw at us. If Baba Obas wakes up tomorrow morning and decides to increase fuel price by N500.00, na so everyone go tighten his belt more until our loins begin to gush out.

The problem with Nija is that its citizenry will never wake up and unite to fight a common enemy. We dont need a politician or a pastor to tell us corruption is bad, we dont need them to tell us violence is bad. But they sit in their offices, give us a little money and we start causing wahala for ourselves. By the time we finish all the trouble, they'll drive their Jeeps past and raise dust onto our faces.

Our Politicians and Pastors, and whoever is in power are not as strong as the will of the people. The change wont start form them, its from us it will start, from me and you.
Christianity EtcRe: Christianity: A Religion Or A 'Way Of Life'? by kimba(m): 11:30pm On Apr 17, 2006
Let me rather give my own testimony:

Christianity to me was a religion when:
1) Everything I did was out of compulsion, because i really wanted to have my own way, but time and chance did not permit, and secretly i was waiting for when ill turn 18. The hardest thing in my whole life was to obey my parents, say im sorry, to close my eyes in prayer was the next abomination, i was just plain adamant, i resisted everything about God and good. Twas as if I should go live on my own planet. What i was interested in was all disorderliness, a rough lifestyle, causing trouble and disrupting the peace. I even wanted to join the army so i could beat up somebody.
2) Deep-down within me I didnt want to go to Church, I had to make daddy happy with his little boy, so I went. As I sat down, faking sobriety and concentration, I mocked at all the pastor had to say. I was a time-keeper, watching the minutes slowly passing by, waiting for the closing prayer. I never heard what was said.
3) Prayer and Bible reading was a task on my time-table, twas a mere routine.
4) I had thought i was serving the pastor by going to church. In fact, i thought i didnt need to read the Bible, that I didnt need God, i thought i knew everything. I usually felt very bad whenever i ticked 'Christian" on a form or some document. I felt Christians were wasting their time, worse, I thought i was wasting mine with theirs.

Christanity became a way of life when, I gave my life completely to Jesus.
I prayed a simple prayer of forgiveness, led by the Pastor in Church, out of compulsion, and I thought that would be it. But something happened, I will never forget, twas like a huge burden lifted off me. I was saved. My past forgiven and forgotten, twas like the Sun just arose, I began to see changes in me. I had a new beginning.I shook myself to my former past preconcieved reality - behold twas gone. Before then, i never smiled, but now, im always smiling. Suddenly, i began introducing myself as a CHristian first before i said what my name was. Nobody said i should. I began comparing my words, thoughts, deeds, everything I deed with what the Bible said, what God wants, what God would have expected me to do. Gods word became a ruler I used to measure my lifestyle. I read the Bible without been compelled, and things that never made meaning to me suddenly became glaringly clear, and i began to wonder "what has been happening to me all along?" Things that confused me in the Bible became crystal clear, as I read one passage, the other explained itself, Now, before I take decisions, i would rather weigh everything by the light of the scriptures. Now, i find it easy to tell the truth, and things i had found to be next to impossible now became easy. To say a genuine sorry is so easy. Doing things that please God now became my daily assignment, that rather than please man, i would put my God first. Now, i have Faith in God, though before I never trusted anybody. Its now easy to pray and expect immediate answers, i mean immediate. My Bible is now my daily companion, what else could i ask for if God is always by my side.

Christ purpose was to pass his lifstyle on to His 12-disciples who would then influence others by it, and so on, and so on. But man naturally likes to make easy things hard, so at the end of the day after struggling up and down, he'll feel he has acheived a feat. Jesus said:
John 15:
v12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Imagine Jesus calling us Friends!! what could be more than that, If we say literally, hes a son to God the Father, and he calls us Friends, then its like we are on the same level, and we can call God our Father, making us heirs of the Kingdom. THe best of all things is that God is with us.

Christianity EtcRe: Good Friday Miracle Night With Pastor Chris by kimba(m): 10:07pm On Apr 17, 2006
Hello Mr Felcher,

Hi, im Kimba, and I don't mind some explanations:
1. Are there no white folks in your Church? I just viewed the naked pictures of the men and ladies who have been "baptized" in your church. It looks more to me that you have just finished having sex with these ladies, or maybe they just finished copulating with some other men, and they had to stand up from bed for a quick pose, because their bodies are all sweaty and theres a bed at the back, or in your doctrine, you don't use water for baptism, is it all about sex?

2.Do you mind, can you include your own baptism picture, we want to see the full picture, i mean your own full picture, head to toe.

3. Also lets verify if your directors have been baptized. I believe as a leader, you and your directors should give an ultimate example, so if you feel showing naked pictures of black men and women is an ideal doctrine in your church, lets see what youve got in your physique, we wont mind the belly grin grin grin

4. And i wonder why all your directors have something to do with sex? i mean, whats the divine calling behind the sex thing, imagine, a PhD in sexology, and Father Humperdink presiding over your naked masses. Is it a real mass? do you read the Bible, or everyone just comes for an Orgy session. His face, Father Humperdink, looks quite familiar, hes a native of where? South Carolina? i think the name should be Humperdick!!!!, can you post us some pics of how your God manifests himself during your fellowships, please how do you regulate men and women getting it on during your masses, i mean 'a mans gotta do what hes gotta do'  -especially the physical attraction part,

awaiting your response,
please don't mind me, you just got me interested!!!!!

RomanceRe: Is It Wrong To Want To Marry A Rich Man? by kimba(m): 8:32pm On Apr 17, 2006
@Ralex
Seriously the bottom line in everything is what u can bring into it.

Wheather a woman wants to marry me out of money or love experienced has taught me that it is to be approached as a buisness deal.

If she brings nothing into the relationship (good company, good sex, children, e.t.c) there is no marriage.

Men, gone are the days when one marry out of love. Love is madness. Without your providing her what she wants; be it material comfort, emotional comfort, sexaul comfort, e.t.c love doesnt exisit. She will find that comfort elsewhere.

So every woman is RIGHT to want to marry a successful man so also the man is RIGHT to want to take some bites outside and expects her to stay @ home cleaning the nappies after all he pays for both!!

All the details of this marriage buisness must be worked out before it is signed (in a law court)
in short, rather than the normal
"Do you?" - "I do"
it should now be:
"Do you?" - I do, if"

note the "," while and the details of the "if" must be very much documented for future referencing.

O boy, hope the goods that will be delivered as the result of the business deal wont arrive in containers!!!! Is your container at the port? grin grin

@Balogun
You saying it right ended here:
Personally I feel africans especially Nigerians dwell too much on religion and forget about being good to each other.
If we all dwelt on that, Africa will be a wonderful place.

But i disagree with you that:
No matter how much you quote stuff from the bible, don't forget it was written by man, editted by man and done solely for the purpose of morality.
2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Tim 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Tim 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Tim 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2 Tim 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Tim 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
2 Peter 1:20-21: "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (KJV)"

The Bible is the Inspired Word of God. It is a guide for man to take him to where God wants him to be.

Biblical inspiration is defined as the work of the Holy Spirit by which, without setting aside their personalities and literary or human faculties, God so guided the authors of Scripture as to enable them to write exactly the words which convey His truth to men, and in doing so preserved their judgements from error in the original manuscripts. The Word of God as given to us in the Bible is a product of two free agents, human and divine. Through (fallible) human authors, God manifested the infallible and errorless writings, which convey His messages. A natural question is, why God chooses to have humans write the Bible; couldn't He write the Bible Himself much like what He did in inscribing the Ten Commandments on the tablets? Won't this be an easier way in preserving the accuracy of the Bible, instead of through the hands of fallible men? Although God is sovereign and can do anything by Himself, He chooses to have humans interact in His plan. This is one of the biggest differences between Christianity and other religions; with God reaching down to man, instead of man reaching up to Him. We have seen many examples in the Bible, which God chooses to have human interaction. The creation of the Written Word (Bible), the Living Word (Jesus), and Promised Word (Salvation) all share this characteristic.

The entire Scripture is the inspired word of God because the Bible says so (2 Timothy 3:16). This is probably the strongest argument from a presuppositional point of view. However, most believers would rebuke that the authority of the Bible is what one tries to prove in the first place, so how can one use quotes from the Bible to sustain such a claim. In this case, the fulfillment of prophecies about Jesus, his birth, death and resurrection, proves the accuracy of the Bible and that Jesus is the Son of God, giving Him the authority to claim the inspiration and inerracy of the Bible (Matthew 21:13, Luke 4:27, John 14:24, 16:12,13). Both Jesus and the apostles proclaimed that the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is important to keep in mind that the Scripture is of Divine origin, written through man. Although the authors were free to use their own style and expression in the writing, God superintended so that the final product is inerrant. The entire Scripture is inspired by God, not just partially or in degree. Although most of the Scripture were verbally conveyed to Gods people through the prophets and apostles, only the Autographs are inspired. And because the Bible is inspired, it alone has the final authority

Before the white man brought chritianity to Nigeria, are you lot saying all our forefathers are dwelling in a different afterlife.
No, they were not. God has his way of speaking to people. The Bible wasnt there in the time of Abraham, yet God spoke to Abraham. God guides man by speaking to his conscience, but many people have hardened their conscience, thats why God doesnt speak to them. God will not save anyone by force. You would need to realize that you need to be saved, its like this: a man drowning in water needs to understand that except he agrees to be pulled out of the river, he will drown. In the heart of each man, God instilled knowledge about him. Regardless of ones religion, we know that there is a God. Now, many have chosen not to believe in Him. That is their problem, not God's. They choose not to believe in God, yet they recognize when the wind blows, even though they can't see it.

If there is a heaven!!!!! All good people will go there irrespective of whether christians or not and the argument shall continue
Yes, there is a Heaven. Read your Bible, the verses are too many. Its not enough to be good, be a Child of God and you'll get there. Good works will not take anyone to Heaven. It is wrong if I give money to beggars everyday, yet i steal money in my place of work, thinking that the cash ive given out will cover up for the ones ive stolen. Its possible that people can be naturally good- as a result of their upbringing, or way of life, but with sin in their heart, God frowns on them as much as he does on armed robbers.

You're right, the argument will always continue, because man naturally refuses to believe what he hasnt seen.
* The Bible is a Divine Revelation. In the Bible we find out what God wants mankind to know about Himself and His plan.  The Bible is the only written revelation of God to man.
* No one has ever successfully refuted the Bible. Many mock the Bible but avoid challenging it point by point. No one who has done in-depth research, honestly examining the evidence for the Bible's inspiration and truthfulness, has been able to disprove the Bible.
* History records many who set out to disprove the Bible, who instead became believers.
My brother, regardless of arguments, the Bible is the final authority.
Take it or leave it!!
