rozayx5:Her work is not what is important. What is important is if Suleman paid for her 'services' |
Even Britain might break up soon, Scotland has asked for a second referendum. |
Gowon is a hypocrite and a war criminal. While Ojukwu was fighting to liberate his people from the shackles of Northern domination, Gowon was fighting for Oil money on the guise of 'keeping Nigeria one' This same hypocrite called Gowon who is claiming to be a 'principled man' was not principled enough to honour the Aburi agreement he signed in Ghana. And this led to the war Let Gowon tell Nigerians the truth instead of lying through his teeth. Gowon was an opportunist who exploited Murutala Mohammeds counter coup to get to power. Despite just being a Lt Colonel with several people senior to him like Brigadier Ogundipe, Colonel Adebayor, colonel Imo and even Ojukwu, Gowon siezed power to represent 'The Northerners'. Gowon in his first broadcast announced that 'There is no basis for Nigerian unity'. Two days later, Gowon suddenly changed his mind when he was informed of the huge Oil wealth in Eastern Region and he started singing the tune of 'one Nigeria' louder than a Canary. Till today, Nigerias unity is still all about oil. In other to control Nigeria, Gowon and his Northern goons decided to break the Aburi agreement by introducing 'divide and rule" through the dissolution of the 4 Regions and creating 12 states. With the breaking of the Aburi agreement, the 3 Regions in the south (Western, Mid West and Eastern) were faced with 2 sad realities, accept Northern domination or declare your freedom and fight for it. The Western Region and Yorubas along with the Mid West chose the cowards way out and readily accepted Northern slavery. Ojukwu stood up, declared his people free and fought 3 years to hold on that freedom. At the end, Ojukwu flew into exile and Biafra agreed to a ceasefire. The cost was millions dead, just because of Oil. 50 years on, Nigeria has not progressed, it has not moved foward, it has not united, the agitation for Biafra is still strong. The Northern Region that was fighting to contol the economic and political life of Nigeria is the poorest, least educated and hotbed of sectarian violence and terrorism. Nigeria failed as a nation just like Ojukwu thought it would, the man must be laughing in his grave. Gowon the lier, Northern hegemonist, war criminal and disaster of a leader is still alive to see the Nigeria he kept one and what it turned out to be |
aribisala0:The attack in Ore? Igbos had already packed up, returned to the East, declared their own country and left Nigeria in peace. You Nigerians would not leave us alone and came down to the East to fight. When we retaliated, you people started shouting Ore! It was the Nigerian/Biafran war and Ore was in Nigeria. You guys are lucky we didnt attack Ibadan |
coolscott:This long epistle of yours and you still made no point except state the obvious which everyone already knows. Igbos have always been confederates. Igbo land is a confederacy. We are not empire builders and neither are we empire chasers. Before the white man came, Igbos rarely had kingdoms. Igbos are a different breed, republican, highly democratic and firecely independent. We are not looking for historic identity, every Igbo sub- group has its own identity and history. We are not looking to be established either, thats not what Igbos about. Which of the three ethnic groups knows its boundaries? The boundaries of Yorubalabd stretches into Benin Republic, the boundary of Hausa land stretches into Northern Ghana. The boudaries of Igboland stretches into the lower Benue, CrossRiver, Rivers, Delta and even Edo state. As I said, you made no point except state things anyone in secondary School already knows As for Itsekiris and Biafra, I will echo what Asari Dokubo said last time he called Radio Biafra. Asari Dokubo: Itsekiris are not original members of Biafra, only a referendum will allow them to join us |
Afriifa:You mean the Niger Delta and South/South, both of which are not recognised by the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria? Dont make us laugh |
Slonge2:And of what is point of all this if Igbos are saying they dont want to be in the same country as you? |
Chukwu Okike be praised! |
profhezekiah:Igbos dont care about the useless presidency of Nigeria any more. |
aribisala0:All this is beside the point. The point is that during the counter coup, the Northerners went to Ibadan and killed the Governor of the Western Region, chased away the man who should have been head of state, Brigadier Ogundipe, a Yoruba man. The Northerners then dissolved the 4 Regions and 12 states were created. It was plain to see that the Northerners were plotting the domination of Nigeria. Yorubas should have been angry that their Governor was slaughtered in Yorubaland. They should have been angry that their most high ranking officer was driven out of Yoruba land and out of his righful place as head of state by the Northerners. They should have been angry that their western Region was dissolved. All Yorubas could do was meekly bow down to the Gambari Northern Lords and say " Dear Northerners, I cant fight for my sovereignty. Spare my life and I will agree to one Nigeria" Overnight, Awolowo became deputy to Gowon who was young enough to be his son and Colonel Adebayor was reduced to saluting Gowon who was by far his junior in the Army. Yorubas were held hostage in their own land after their Governor, FA Fajuyi was slaughtered like a Chicken. But Ojukwu refused to deliver his people to Northern domination. He stood up for them and fought for 3 years. If Igbos were going to go down, it would not be without a fight Yorubas surrendered like slaves to the Gambari Lords To this day, the average Yoruba man is proud of himself for surrendering without putting up a fight and thinks that Ojukwu who fought for three years is a coward. It is only in the mind of a Yoruba man that someone like Ojukwu who fought for 3 years is a coward while him that surrendered without a fight is brave I laugh in Igbo |
bantudra:Well it seems you have already used your mouth to do the 'referentin' for them. Afonja |
odduduwa:Not 'must'. Their is no 'must' in the issue of Biafra. When referendum comes, they will have the option of going with Nigeria or Biafra. Biafra can never be a country like Nigeria that was created by forcing people against their will to join. |
Organs:He maybe articulate but he is far from smart. Just another Nigerian trying to justify why Lord Lugard made him a Nigerian. Biafra is based on the lies and propaganda of Ojukwu? If that is true, then you can imagine how we should feel about Nigeria that was based on increasing Lord Lugards Bank Balance. Nigeria is far worse than Biafra. |
ibson99:It all depends what you mean by 'Niger Delta'. If you ask someone like Adaka Boro, he will tell you that Niger Delta is only Ijawland |
My parents saw Biafra, I must see Biafra! |
Agumbankembu:I like it, Emeka Ugwuonye looks 'bad' in shades |
Nice one by Emeka Ugwuonye. I wondered why he didnt join Kanu's legal team much sooner. Still better late than never. |
Afriifa:I will only take people like you serious when you tell me what 'come' is in Niger Delta language It is Zo on Hausa It is Wa in Yoruba It is Bia in Igbo What is it in Niger Delta? |
comos:If you are mentioning these people then it means you dont know the true cause of Biafra |
sarrki:Really? Are you not a Nigerian? How did Lugard agitate to create Nigeria? He used macine guns, cannons, Horsewhip (koboko) amongst others. So really, Nigerians who became what they are by violent agitation should not be advicing Biafrans who have so far kept it peaceful |
ElsonMorali:Ojukwu fought to rule Nigeria? Is that what they told you? I dont need to check links, I know who Bruce Mayrock is. The real thing to think about is that when the Northerner decided to take over Nigeria, Igbos under Ojukwu, Azikiwe, Dr Okpara etc declared the East a separate country and fought for 3 years to keep it Yorubas under Awolowo, Adebayo etc surrendered straightaway to a small boy called Gowon Now who is more of the coward in this scenario? |
jpphilips:At least you now know why nobody is going to support the outcome of any investigation by the Army. They are going to behave exactly like you, argue from a point of ignorance, reject any evidence without proper vetting, hold tightly to their biased point of view and claim they are saints. Nobody has forgotten how things work in the zoological Republic of Nigeria where nothing ever changes. The unfortunately for you Nigerians, the people Lugard 'baptised' after a common River, change is one constant. Some day, the colonial fraud called Nigeria is going to crash and from it, the indigenous people will reclaim their sovereignty. That time not so far away any more. In the meantime, Nigeria will remain the zoo where its inhabitants have nothing to look foward to except suffering. |
Ndi Nne ma mma! Umu nwanyi Chukwu goziri! |
Basic123:Well at least Ojukwu fought for 3 years before absconding. Unlike Awolowo and Adeyinka Adebayo who bowed down to Gowon and the Gambari masters without even a single protest. |
jpphilips:Some people like to argue blindly and make a fool of themselves. Thw data you used in writting the nonsense above, you could have used it to go to youtube to watch the Amnesty International report on the IPOB shootings and how the reached their conclsions. Yoy could have watched either the Aba, Porharcourt or Onitsha shootings, all of which are youtube. Video evidence is one of the most powerful things anyone can tender because although pictures can be manipulated or photoshopped, although statements can be forged, videos are very difficult to manipulate. So instead of coming here to argue from a point of ignorance, go and view the videos that IPOB have put on youtube for the world to see. If you cannot view them, then reserve your comments on their authenticity until a time you have seen them It was human beings with family that where killed not Guinea Fowl |
onadana:He obeyed orders! Ironsi was the highest ranking officer in Nigeria at the time. Who's orders do you think Danjuma should have obeyed the most? What kind of orders was Danjuma obeying when he could not obey that of a Major General like Ironsi? Dont talk like an ignoramus |
Sweetguy25:Thats the thing I will never understand. General TY Danjuma who killed Ironsi and Fajuyi is still walking about a free man and still being praised by the same people who are trying to immortalise the Palm tree where he commited doubble murder |
Asking Igbos and Yorubas to unite is like asking oil and water to mix, not possible. The problem the OP has is that he is still trying to see Igbo/Yoruba from the context of 'Nigeria' To understand why Yoruba and Igbo will never unite, one has to go back to when there was no Nigeria. What kind of people were Igbos and Yorubas? History tells us that the Yorubas have never been able to exist alone. They once chased an empire from present day Nigeria to Togo. This 'empire creating' nature of Yorubas has never left them. Igbos on the other hand never had an empire and had no desire have one. The Igbo man is republican, egalitarian and very independent. Unfortunately for Igbos, of the 3 main ethnic groups, Igbos are the only ones who are not empire creators and thats why Yorubas will continually unite with the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy of the North to undemine Igbos. Yorubas and Hausa/Fulani are going to fight forever to keep the empire of Nigeria without caring about if the empire works or if Igbos want it. Yorubas are no friends of us Igbos and we Igbos are fully aware of their antics. A people who threw away their right of self deternination to uphold the empire of Nigeria cannot be trusted |
menxer:Countries are not generally allowed to interfere in the domestic affairs of another. What Britain did by imposing a blockade on the sovereign waters if another was illegal. Freedom is one thing that has no high or low cost. You just strive to get it no matter what. |
Organs:What do you mean Igbos in the Nigerian Army? Is that the issue? The issue is that an accused organisation should not be the one investigating its self. There are several human rights NGO's that could have done this such as the NBA. If an independent organisation concluded its investigation and said there were no unjust killings, at least the interested parties will be able to ask them how they reached their conclusion despite several video and picture evidence. Will anybody be able to question the Army? Dont bring Ojukwu into this, at least he fought for 3 years to liberate his people before he ran away. The rest of you accepted the slavery of the Northern oligarchy without even an atom of protest |
abiodunalasa:Our imperfect past? You mean the one that cost Igbos over 3 million souls in the name of a meaningless colonial slogan called 'one Nigeria'? Yeah, we know how simple that one is for you ', Nigerians', or should I say, the unfortunate West Africans Lugard named after a common River. |
