sukkot: but even at that drugs do not cure diabetes. They manage it. Lifestyle changes is what cures it. So I would say the drug is a placebo. From what the guy described it sounds like what happened to him was a supernatural occurence Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metformin works by helping to restore your body's proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. It also decreases the amount of sugar that your liver makes and that your stomach/intestines absorb. Obviously, the drugs did what they were meant to do. We can bet him to continue his lifestyle and let's see if it doesn't return. Op are you in? |

TenQ: Thank you ma for your kind post.
I almost recited the shahada in my days at the University, so I understand a little of Islam to know that next to Allah, the most revered person you have is Mohammed.
If you check all my posts, I do not deliberately speak disrespectful to Muslims anything about Mohammed. The only major time when I broke this rule was with my friend on NL LegalWolf at some time past when he started his campaign of slander. Otherwise, I use only civil words with respect to prophet Mohammed with Muslims.
Do you have a reference to any particular post where I said something you consider as disrespectful to Mohammed? I will like to know so that next time I can consciously tone down my words.
Why do you think I post more about Islam? Two major reasons 1. Muslims Don't ask Questions about their religion. I stopped at the point of reciting the sahada when I started reading the Qur'an and started asking Questions which were not obvious to Muslims 2. If I see my brother mislead to cook poisonous mushroom to eat with pounded yam, I should I keep quiet? What if this my brother insisted that his mushroom is the best mushroom in the world! Should I keep quiet by his self acclaimed conviction! ? 3. I am compelled to preach about the Messiah to everyone (including Muslims) This is not even optional, I it is the direct command of Christ.
John 3:18-19: "He that believes on him (Christ) 8 is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
My duty is to make sure every nominal Christian and every Muslim is saved from the fire of Hell.
But, I don't you think Muslims started this? 1. Why am I a Najis to you Muslim? 2. Why does Islam call me al-mushrikeen ? 3. Why is it okay to call me Kafir ?
I am not using this as a justification for anything o! I am just saying that fundamentally, this is how Islam views us Christians. Don't mind their hypocrisy. They have no respect for Christian values, and continually ridicule the tenets of Christianity, more than we even think. Yet, she comes to us thinking she rides a winged horse and a sword powerful enough to split the moon and pass judgement on the earth. |

But you have to make sure the lions don't take advantage of you. The lions see sympathy and empathy as a form of weakness and they will come to devour. sukkot: poverty does not have to last long in today's world. For example you write pretty good English. There are many websites where they need proof readers to correct mistakes in articles. And they pay in pounds. Thanks for the suggestion. Ah, the irony; I'm pretty bad when it comes to syntax. My "poverty" doesn't come from lack of work, it stems from being unable to feed the multitude of "five thousand" from a few loaves of bread. I really don't understand it myself. And yes, i know, one must fill one's belly before one feeds the belly of others. However, filling my belly hasn't always fueled the zeal to live. When ever i consciously decide to not fill the belly of others, the universe finds a way to knock my head. The opposite is also true: my harvest grows the more of it i gift away. Why I can't keep some for myself is the mystery behind the curtains. Here's an instance: One evening, i was walking home--after traveling from school, when a stranger in a car stopped me. 😔 It was a traumatic experience for me. He pleaded that I help him with some money to buy fuel, and that he too assisted a friend by dropping her home, but his fuel was now running low. In essence, he had put himself in a bad situation by offering to help someone else. There were tears in his eyes already. He was a muslim in between. I couldn't help him. But, there's a very dark twist to the tale. Although, i told him i didn't have money, I had about 6 thousand Naira sitting in my school bag. Unfortunately, it was a contribution that my coursemates had put together for some practical, or so. At that moment, I thought "the devil is certainly out to get me, " "I could give him, but how was i going to refund, " but it wasn't my money to give. So, I told him i didn't have. He thanked me for listening, and apologized for embarrassing me. That stung me-- very deeply. 2 minutes after he drove off, i put 2 and 2 together. I could afford to give him some 1k or so, and have him return it. Even if he didn't, I could not eat at school for a few days to make up for it I literally ean back to the express. I literally ran. But, it was too late. I slept that day with a very heavy heart. it was the kind of sensation you feel when a loved one betrays you, or a girl friend breaks up with you. I couldn't shake off the feeling that punishment was coming, and indeed it came. But that's tori for another day. Infact, I spent a couple days just telling the sky "I'm sorry." Alas, the dark twist came the next day. The money my classmates kept with me was requested for. I was glad i didn't give the man, but resentful aswell. I really don't know whether i was lucky or i was unfortunate that day. I couldn't help feel like i missed something. As for punishment, the following year, my parents couldn't come up with tuition fees.. 😂😂😂. Some say it's my ego, sarrassin says it may be a karmic duty, sort off.. i really don't know. Pay is coming soon, but DMs are already coming in. 😭😭😭 |

sukkot: lol you will come to find out that everything done in this world is symbolism. i prefer to view it as symbolic of someone naked in hades going through tribulation and then eventually emerges purified like GOLD. now is that a false sense of depth to the initiate and a false sense of power to the one doing the initiating ? maybe so but even they are unaware of the forces within them that is compelling them to do what they are doing. The spirit within you will move you to do crazy things but there is a message behind the crazy act and that message is meant to be read and decoded by an ascended master. so in essence the world is a stage and we are all actors and then we have ascended beings who can decode the motives behind every action taken on earth. They are like the directors. there is a reason behind everything and nothing in life is coincidental. I don't think the buffoon you quoted has read his bible from that light. little did he know that Abraham was initiated into the YHWH cult by symbolically sacrificing his Son. The more one interacts with self acclaimed champions of Christ, the more one realizes they are just plain books--Huge hard cover books but empty. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why You Should Never Pray by kkins25(m): 4:51pm On Sep 23, 2023 |
Kobojunkie: But the post does not in fact indicate the truth of God as none of what is claimed particularly regarding prayer aligns with the Truth as decreed by God Himself.
You see, Scripture states that God does not answer the prayers of the unrighteous; the pleas and requests and every petition, praise, offering, work, plea, sacrifice, etc., of the unrighteous are tainted by their sins(disobedience/unholiness) and are hence an abomination to God. So, what is definite is that even your many pleas for the forgiveness of sins are not answered by God given that God made no special exemptions for that kind of plea. No amount of praying can cause God to change His mind regarding that which concerns the unrighteous by the way. So if you are thinking of prescribing more prayers that only means you really don't understand or know God at all.
God, however, openly bragged about how He only answers the prayers of the righteous; He delights in granting them the desires of their heart meaning that they are those who he loves. For this very reason, Jesus Christ urged His followers to seek first the Kingdom of God and God's Righteousness in order that all things— the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(holiness), answers to prayers included—shall be added on to them. And as Jesus Christ explained in His Gospel, the only way to become Holy, and then also Righteous, is by way of continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, god's Truth and Law in the Kingdom of god - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23. Jesus Christ is the only way. Obedience to the Truth of God is the one and only path to righteousness. No amount of praying and other religious rituals can accomplish that.
God deals indirectly with the unrighteous, the same way He deals with the unbelievers including the wicked and the ungrateful and that is by pouring out His mercy and kindness on them daily. So every time as an unrighteous you feel that God has answered your prayer know that at that same moment, or moments before that, God also provided the same mercy or similar to someone else across the world — or maybe just across from you— who does not even believe in God, nor asked God for anything. So, if answers from God are what you seek, then do what Jesus Christ said you should, which is to seek first the Kingdom of God(holiness), and then God's righteousness, in order that all these things —the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(including answers to prayers) can be added to you.
So, aren't you better off dumping out the lies entirely so you can finally grasp the Truth of God and eventually begin to benefit in Truth from it? When you look at economics and the world we live in, I wonder, kobo, do you still agree with the above? How does that "righteousness" fit in circumstances like that of Wealthy cruel men? |

budaatum: What you call "societal control" could be seen as society organising itself.
Preventing or at least minimising conflict about who people choose to mate with, is a good thing. It reduces killings and death.
Allowing lineages to be properly recorded, is good, as lineages would know their line.
Allowing parents and children to be properly matched is good too, as parents would have the right children.
One more thing marriage does is ensure 4 hands bring up children, as opposed to only 2 hands, and that's a workload that's worth sharing if the intention is to do it right. Oh! Just seeing this. I replied from the "following" tab/page. |

LordReed: I agree with you that people are too focused on counting the material aspects of marriage but I will tell you how it is societal control.
1. It prevents or at least minimises conflict about who people choose to mate with. 2. It allows lineages to be properly recorded. 3. It allows parents and children to be properly matched.
These and others are some of the reasons why marriage is societal control. Can we achieve these without formal marriage ties, yes but quite unlikely given the present state of human interaction. I see. I understand the POV. When you say "societal control" it creates the impression that some "monk" with fore knowledge, sat in a temple to construct the institute of marriage. Perhaps, "societal control" is an inadequate term: How about leaning towards "societal organization?" |
Family › Re: Marriage: Most Critically Crafted Institution Designed To Control by kkins25(m): 10:35am On Sep 21, 2023 |
LordReed: I actually agree with 2 parts of that post.
1. Marriage is societal control. 2. There is nothing in marriage that you can't achieve without it.
The rest of it seems to be fueled by subtle misogynistic sentiments that seeks to belittle the contribution of the opposite sex to the enterprise. I don't think marriage is societal control. Because, some birds hold life long bonds, which is no different from marriage. Our children take 16-18 years to become adapt enough to survive this world. As records show, single parenting is devastating. The benefits of marriage is ambigious because we think of life in terms of material wealth and not in terms of Energy which is the currency of life. Where would a single parent see the energy to live a fulfilling life and carter for their child at the same time? |
