http://oyostate.gov.ng/achievements/works-and-transport I don’t know why people keep on saying Akala is a non performing Governor; the man is trying his best. There are some Governors East and North of the Niger that are absolutely useless even in the SW, I rate him higher than Gbenga Daniel and that Oshun man. Keep it up Akala. ![]() |
He was simply was a tribal demagogue, nothing more and nothing lessAwolowo could not have being a tribal demagogue as Nigeria as it is constituted today never existed. What we had prior to 1967 state's creation where 3 or 4 nations in a forced and unbridled marriage. (Including Southern and Northern Cameroons) Awolowo was an Odua nationalist of a proxy Odua State operating within the confines of Nigeria and the Cameroons, he was not a Nigerian nationalist as Nigeria was only a geographical expression. |
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/10259619.stm This is what we need in Naija. A FAST TRAIN BETWEEN LAGOS and Abuja to start with would not be a bad idea. Whoever can deliver this gets my vote. |
Guys we should refrain from calling each other unplatable names and concentrate on the facts and issues at hand, those with shallow views would be obvious in no time, the frivolities of the Eastern leaders like our dear Ojukwu supporting the most clueless leader( IBB ) since the Geographical expression called Nigeria came to being would come to the foreshore. His mental state without a doubt would not be queried but would be conclusive why call each other names when the truth has already set us free. To those calling Awo a regional leader, there was no national leadership prior to the coups of 1966. The Regional leaders pull the strings, but where the regional leaders fell short was if the centre was not run properly the whole nation gets the flak in any international gathering hence the reason why Awo wanted to replicate some of the magic he had performed in the regions in the centre. We have to remember the Sarduna of Sokoto won the 1959 general election which ushered in our independence. But instead of him resuming the position of Prime Minister in Lagos he chose his trusted lieutenant in the person of Tafawa Balewa to proceed to Lagos and take up that appointment why he sat back in Kaduna as the puppet's connoisseur. What we had b4 1966 was a loose confederation, OR an uneasy allainace of 3 nations to form Nigeria. Awolowo was a national leader in the SW Region of Nigeria which was more or less a de-facto Republic of Oduduwa in a loose confederation with some other regions. National leadership all over the world start with strong impact in the region, George Bush was a Governor b4 he became President, so was Cliton, so was Obama a State and National Senator. The regions are where u learn the hard craft of Governance. The Reason why OBJ is a failure in Nigeria is because he first came to power by the nuzzle of a gun, so did IBB, Abacha and Abdulsalam. Do u call these men national leaders just because they have being Head of State hell no. For u to be a national leader u must go through the rigours of electioneering and win. So far the only leader's we can call true national leader's in a newly reconfigured Nigeria are Yaradua and Shagari. Awolowo was a national leader in the old Nigeria setting, after the creation of states in 1967 Nigeria as a polity was re-configured hence more power at the centre and less for the Regions prior to that the regions rule the roost. Just as AWO was a national leader in the SW Nigerian region in that well known un-written but widely practised open confederation so was Zik and the SARDUNA OF Sokoto. The argument he was not a natonal leader does not hold water, Awo was Gowon's Federal Commisioner of Finance and he was directly and indirectly involved in the construction boom that Lagos experience between 1967 to 1975, so for anyone to say he was not a National leader is a fallacy. If he is not then who is a national Leader Soldiers |
Jakande himself go slap you for putting his name ahead of Awolowo, I agree with u, Awolowo is the grand dandie of Awoism which without mincing words is a lay man's word for delivering what u promise in your manifesto. Jakande, Onanbanjo, Ajasin, and Bola Ige belong to this school of thought. This gentlemen would not have being able to sleep in the night knowing they have promise A and are doing B. The statement that Jakande was better than Awolowo is tantanmount to an apprentice telling his already sucessful boss that he does not know what he is doing. This statement amongst a few others should be seen as the most " daft slip of type (tongue)in the short history of blogging". Jakande himself knows what loin he is made of, he knows his mentorer and would not mince words in proclaiming it. Is it not strange one of the fervant deciples of Awolowo was regarded in many reliable quarters as the best Governor in the 2nd republic. That sprit to inspire and forge ahead thank God it has not being dampened, Young Fashola has resurrected a dying breed of Nigerians, he has taking it upon himself to follow this unfashionable part, no wonder bearly 3 years in the job he has already surpass several two terms Governors in every ramification. Even though he is not wearing the badge of Awoism in his forehead, he is certainly taking a few cue from the great man's modus operendi. Fashola let us call a spade a spade might be one of the very few and limited Nigerians that can move this nation forward. If he dosen't acheive this political ascendency does that mean his undisputed triumph in Lagos has suffered a battering, hell no his ingenieuty would be Nigeria's loss and Lagos's gain. Does he need to have sleepless night over it, hell no once again. |
The Ibadan Centre Business District The first thing I noticed when I first came back to the City of London in the earlier 1990's was the similarity between Oxford Street and the Dugbe area of Ibadan City. Although the DUGBE area was not as long and did not have as many stores as Oxford Street, it was the centre of the city, like a huge magnet where people get drawn for the shopping experince. The sons of the poor were more intrested in visiting the Kingsway store to watch that mini-train take the now scarce and non-existing son's of the middle class and upper class take a ride on an onward journey to Father Xmas in his Grotto. This intrigued them a lot, the manequins in the shop was another thing that fascinated them. OBVIOUSLY not forgetting the wide smiles on their faces when they took those escalators to the upper floors. The Security personell where always in a constant battle in ejecting them from the store but they had a way of sneaking into the store again. There was also the goods lift at the back of the store used when u purchase larger items, this was another spell binding wicthery that caught the eyes of those little Boys and Girls from the lower end of Society. I remember visiting the CBD in Ibadan was a whole day experince, there was large area on the ground floor of the Kingsway building that had the best Dumkin Dougnuts and Meat pies in the whole City, people came from all the surrounding Towns just to have a taste of this sumptious delicacy. This was b4 the time of Chicken George and other mordern eatries, the number 1 place to be was Kingsway's Eatery and what an adventure and experience it was. Normally, After spending most of the time at the Kingsway Store, families tend to walk through the gang-way that connected the Kingsway building to the UTC building. The UTC building was within the Cocoa house complex. Odua Investment had their HQ there and the UTC stores were stocked with everything u could find in Bloomingdales and Harrods, the number 1 item for young boys then was the ever reliable Chopper Bicycle, a few of my friend had it but my dad felt it was too much at N120.00 per bike, looking back in hind-sight I can understand his reluctance considering he had 3 son's of about the same age, it would have meant him forking out a cool N360.00 for us 3, but he still manage to put up appaerance by taking us on an expeditional tour of the CBD. We walked through the well stocked UTC having already eating at the Kingsway foyer, we the kids were more intrested in the Gadgets displayed than anything else it was an wholesome experience. After a while in the UTC store we went down the Gangway to the frontal area of Cocoa House, on the left hand stood the all Glass Rotunda Restauarant called Cocoa dome, back then it was really posh, the wafting smell of freshly made chicken and chips ebbed into one's nostries causing spasm and an uncontroable chain reactions in one's intestines this happened the moment one steps into that open space between Cocoa House and the dome, as a youngster I was ever longing and looking forward to eating at that rounded restaurant with the drawn-out silk curtain. My wished all became a reality when the place had become an old relic and the Syrians who were running it back then had re-located out of Nigeria to the Republic of Benin. Walking Down the space between the Dome and Cocoa House you get to the gate of the Cocoa House complex this was another Odua Investment initiative built by Cheif Awolowo, turning right steering at you was the beautiful round Bank Building, it was another Odua Investment rented to one the BANKS back in the day it was called Standard Bank. Walking back that way back to the Kingsway was CO-operative Bank Building a white stucco of 10 OR 11 floors built by Odua and rented to the then Co-operative Bank. Next to it was Central Bank Ibadan Branch and the FRSN Ibadan, at the other end of the road, almost adjacent to the store stood Aje House another Skyscraper built by Awolowo for use by small and medium Enterprise the building in the good old days used to be fully occupied. Right Opposite Aje House was the famous Obisesan Hall for concerts and the likes. The layout of the CBD was well planned, probably lifted from the numerous cities Messer Awolowo visited on his soujourn out of the country, he learnt and he inprinted on the ground what he saw in other climes at Ibadan. Odua probably had 10 to 15 buildings within a 5 km radius of the CBD. Today's Politicians come to London , USA and Dubai and see how things are done and turn a blind eye to any of those things just because embarking on such laudable projects would mean coming to office a penniless and living a penniless this reality is one thing mordern Politicains are not ready to bear. IBB instititionalised Looting, I can remember a neigbour of ours who was made a commisioner back 1979 in Ogun State during Onabanjo's regime when his stint was over he came back to civilian life the way he left, no new car or house noting to suggest he has being a recipiant of such a high and exulted post those were the last dieing breed of the remaining AWOIST. Why Ojukwu chooses to have a daliance and endorses a man who killed the middle class stone dead, I don't understand. I doubt whether we would ever have a middle class like what we had in the 1970's right up to the early 1980's. Awolowo was a politician who put his money where his mouth is, this type of individual don't simply exist anymore, a politician who is selfless to himself and selfish to his community, if everyone of those 36 Governors can Imbibe such a mantra, needless to say it Nigeria would be an El-darado by now to say the least. |
Awolowo was an astutue state's man, a man that ruled by policies rather than sentiments. Just like the the colonalist who where handing over to Nigeria, Awolowo knew early enough that the Colonialist where not in anyway better than the average educated black African. What he noticed about these people(the Colonialist), their word was their bond. There was no reason promising things you cannot deliver, even if it meant delivering your promise at great expense one should not abandon a promise made at the heat of electioneering. I would not say free education was particulary cheap, it takes a leader who is prepared to shun the good life, the glam, and the hype to execute a people's programme. He did this programme despite the fact that if he chooses to abandon or ditch such a high profile programme it would only at best equate him with lesser mortals like Zik and the Sarduna. Awolowo was a premire if giving the British economy to manage at the time would have excelled more than well established English Politicians of that time , for anyone to compare this ingenious adminstrator with some clueless newly emerging Nigerian Politicians who view or see the White Colonialist as a demigod is beyond comprehension. Awolowo was the Western region's gain and the Nigerian nation's loss. Why should any Yoruba Or the Awolowo family lose sleep over not ruling Nigeria, who is at a loss today thank God we have the benefit of hindsight to comprehensively analyse the Comparative developmental leap in Ibadan City from 1955 to 1963. I heard someone say Ibadan is a dead city today, it took 27 years of bad Governance from 1983 to 2010 to bring that City to its knees. In fact the dearth of the city actually commenced when the so called sons of the soil took the mantle of leadership of Ibadan and that was from late 1983 to the present day, 27 years of dis-investement and capital flight would kill any city. But what Awolowo put on ground stood the test of time for a good 20 year period between 1963 and 1983. The last Awoist that ruled that city was Bola Ige, and from then ON it was a monumental decline. The idea of having an investment company in the early 1960's to manage investments of the region is an idea at par with utopianic realisms this abstract concept is not stuff the average investment Bankers of the 1960's would fathom, but remains in the realm of the now well known complex derivatives economics packaged by physicist and quantum physisct of today. Although in its infancy and nascent, it was a well thought idea theorectically that needed tweaking, the modus openrendi overwhealmed the managers who where operating at a distance level hence the decline and summarily failure of Odua Investment. Odua Investment if in the hands of men of similar vision would have being the largest conglomerate in West Africa but it has gone down the pan like every other thing in Nigeria. Awolowo's vision in the 1960's is a vision that would confortable sit in tandem with any policy of present day Nigeria and would not be seen as a spent idea or a relic. Now let us compare Awolowo's postulation's with morden day Ojukwu who is urging his Igbo Kinsman to vote for the greatest looter in Nigeria history. That kind of association does not do justice to Ojukwu, where does one place such unintelligible rantings when compared with the still relevant and ready to deploy policies of Awolowo. It is even unthinkable to measure AWO with any living or dead Nigeria, the thought of such comparism is bothering on blasphemy I am not implying Awo is a God, no at all, he is a blessing from God to the Yoruba race, the fact that Nigerians deny him a stint to rule her is not Yoruba's loss but Nigeria's loss. |
Hopefully this scallywag would be the first Royal father to be locked-up, those lags behind bars would be opportune to give him a proper coronation and baptism of fire on his arrival at Kirikiri. His bungling tatics in discipline an unruly Olori would be his crime and his own undoing, other sedent Royals would go about such enforcement by using well known hooligans in their communities without any trace OR recourse to the Royal Fathers. But this uninitiated thug thought he was street-wise enough to know the rough and tumble of rascality, only to belittle himself and his Crown by falling into a gutter, what a sight that would be. ![]() |
I can remember downtown Ibadan city in 1975 was like the downtown of any American City. I remember going to New Court Road Kingsway Shop in 1977 on a father Xmas trip with my other siblings, what intrigue me then was b4 we saw the Father Xmas we all queue to get on this mini-train that took us a 100 yards to the Father Xmas’s Grotto, as a boy who was visiting Western Nigeria for first time having spent my formative years in Kano, this was pure magic and amazing. Another memory I had of the good old days in roaring Ibadan was the escalator stairways at Kingsway, even modern shopping malls like ShopRite in Lagos lacks this mundane infrastructure that was like a magic stairway. Awolowo was just a super-human, he was light years above his time, his stint in government in the early 60’s surpasses modern day Governor’s of today despite the technological advancement of today. A lot of these men who parade themselves as Governors should cover their faces in shame. |
IU'm also glad that in an attempt by the iddiotic Deji to escape,he was reported to have fallen into a gutter and his cap fell off his head into the gutter:THE THRONE HAS FALLEN OFF HIS HEAD. I find this statement the most humorous of all, the fact the incident happened makes the Obaship of Akure the butt of all jokes, that throne has being desecrated and it would take a man of stern integrity to put the throne back in its once high pedestal, perhaps the Akure people might have over-thrown the monarchy for good. |
Ndigbo’s already have a leader(Messer’s Ojukwu ), and he has instructed everyone of you without mincing words that all her sons and daughter should dance to the unsavoury melody from the magician and flutist from Minna. This is an unshakeable fatwa that should be adhered to, why some of you are playing dumb I don’t understand. ![]() |
That is why it is good to embrace the African traditional matrimonial arrangement, when the older wife gets all grey and elderly, f**king such a motherly woman who has probably pass her menopause is an abomination in some cultures(the thought of it makes me want to puke ooopps ), hence the husband taken a more younger, virile and active woman as a wife, this lady would comfort the man in every way and manner. The elderly wife’s role would be as a custodian of the home, the mother of the home, in some rather interesting arrangement she is seen as the de-facto mother of both the husband and the younger wife. This role reversal is an accepted and practicable norm in many traditional Yoruba families. I am still struggling to convince my wife the reason why a younger woman would be an advantage to both of us especially when I get to the golden ripe age of 60. |
All Ogun State needs to do next time is to vote for AC, with AC in Lagos and Ogun the two states would be able to work in unison. Ogun’s problem is the non-performing, Rolls Royce riding (Daniel’s has got a rather sumptuous looking Roller parked at his drive in his London Home) Governor at the helms of affair of the state. This problem is not unusual to Ogun State alone it is a cancer in the Nigerian polity. Give me a modest pay of 3 million a year, and I would commute 99.95% of the state’s resources to the state, if this can be done with all sincerity, the thought of merger of states would be an inconceivable joke let alone mentioned. Failure breeds contempt and abject failure breeds abject contempt bordering on delusional tendencies. The wholesome failure in the polity, has made even establish intellectuals to suffer a kind of brain haemorrhage, whereby all sense of wellbeing has being lost. When you hear men and women who are suppose to be in position of authority relying on an act of God to fix problems, then there is no hope since God himself has already given men the knowledge required to over-come any obstacle we come across. We are doomed, we are at a cross-road, those that are fleecing the treasury in their various States have lost track of what they have stolen, it actually comes as a surprise to some of them at the end of their tenure of how much they have plundered their poor States. If the ex Governor of Sharia infested, cash strapped, Zamfara State can still manage to find some loose $100,000.00 dollars to pay his driver a phantom dowry in other to indulge in what many paedophiles in the west would give an arm or a leg for then what do we expect, there is an ailment in the land quite alright, I hope the thought of merger of States is not our next stage of our debilitating dementia. |
That asylum seeking Oba from Europe should be deported to his second home without much ado; most Diasporas (not every Diasporas) are more than convinced that Nigeria is a jungle where they can get away with murder. Many nurse gory fetishes in their minds and the only place on planet Earth where they can unravel this convoluted thoughts is no other place than Nigeria. To now give such square de-mented head an Obaship is letting all hell let loose, this man does not see anything wrong in what he did hence his bragging after the deed, after all in the yesteryears, when an Oba dies, life human beings were buried with the Oba on his onward journey to the land of no return. Everyday that psychopath continues to occupy that exalted throne as the Oba of Akure brings disrepute not only to the citizens of Akure, but to the Governor and the good people of Ondo State, it does not help with Akure being the capital of Ondo State. His removal should not even be debateable, what should be done is prompt apprehension and lockup any delay to the contrary will only remind me of that famous saying that is “ birds of the same feather flocks together”, OR perhaps Mimiko and this man who is not fit to be the Oba of an area boy commune are from the same loin, I beg to differ, Mr Governor the baton has being passed on to you after all you are the custodian of all citizens of the state and the buck stops with you. |
I am sorry but you have been chatting dust since. I tried to ignore your posts but I can't any longer. What is the point of your posts when you can not even defend them? You will only succeed in turning this into a roforofo fight.Who was the man who called for the colonialist to come back and rule Imo State back in 1983, the crying Governor his honourable Sam Ibakwe. The man has more sense than some of u Igbo’s who are not ready to smell the coffee. The man knows that the Igbo’s lack the tact, patience and decorum needed to govern, the reason being that the Igbo’s inherent believe that everyman na oga in his or her own right, such thinking does not auger well for development, it is an anti-establishment stance no wonder authorities in the East are treated with disdain and with kid gloves, the moment the Igbo’s learn to subdue themselves to authority that day they would see the light. 50 Candidates (are they really Candidates, bandits would be a more correct description of these desperadoes) for one Governorship post, I don’t think any state would ever break that record. OBJ has never being a Governor and cannot be mentioned in tandem with these low lifers who call themselves Governors. |
Em! Do you know of the incidence in Ekiti where the Gov and his boys beat up journalists in secret rooms? I thought we are all agreed that Akala is one helluva holigan? I thought that we are all agreed that Fayose was a motor- park tout turned gov? I thought weare all agrred that Tinubu was an incompetent drug-dealing gov whose ony legacy was thuggery?Akala might be ineffective but not brutal, I don’t believe he is not performing, he is performing to the best of his abilities (his abilities might not be = to minimum standard but he never pretended to punch above his weight) what do u expect from a sacked semi -illetrate Police Officer ![]() Fayose was bullied out of office by OBJ hence his anger and aggrieved attitude. I would not blame him, if na u nko, u go, go quietly like a mugu without fighting, the man is fighting for his right and his stolen mandate. |
I did not know that the entire 5 Igbo states should have voted for Soludo of Anambra state?Anambra State is a litmus test of what transpires in the other States in the East. Ohakim’s criminality and cruelty to an innocent journalist is well documented in every media forum be it print, electronic or otherwise. Such cruelty is unprecedented in the annals of hooliganism in Nigeria, I need not remind you of the covet clan wars going on in Ebnonyi, nor the gross decay in Aba in Abia state. The only one with a bit of decorum is the Enugu State guy, obviously one is not surprise as he is a qualified Law officer, to behave in way contrary to that noble profession’s ethics would have irrevocably banish the Igbo tribe in its entirety as a bunch of uncivilised scallywags that needs re-colonisation and re-orientation. |
What’s all the fusses about the Nigerians are they not members of the ECOWAS union ?, they are entitled to travel to any of the 15 ECOWAS countries to seek greener pastures. Their migrating patterns are not any different from Polish, Latvians and Estonians coming to the UK after joining the EU. The problem we have in Nigeria is lack of an enabling environment, if the Banks are willing and giving small and medium Entrepreneurs money to invest and establish companies, the multiplying effect of such positive economic activity puts any negative fear into insignificance, for example if 30 million SME’s employ just 3 Nigerians, Nigeria as a country would experience full employment, although the concept of full-employment is a fallacy, but near full employment. What would then happen in that kind of scenario will be Entrepreneurs who require hundreds and thousands of workers would be force to go to places like Niger and Mali to recruit for work force because Nigerians who are actively looking for work are actively engaged. The scenario described above actually happened in Wales, UK, whereby a local Bus company had to put advert in polish newspapers to recruit much needed manpower to man their Buses. |
The Igbo Governor’s are the most heartless and henious thieves in the federation, they turn a blind eye on the squalor and deprivation of their people, no wonder Kidnapping and other social vices is prominent in that enclave. (Drug dealing, Ashawo,419, e.t.c) They turned down a visionary in Soludo only to vote an incumbent. Incumbency in the East is synonymous with stand-down, don’t expect anything from Obi in the next 4 years. One thing you can be assured of is the Ikemba would be handsomely taking care off and remitted, and Obi would by the end of his term have achieved that warp idea of being a billionaire at the people’s expense. ( I just hope his driver and orderly would be careful when transporting the people’s common-wealth from Akwa to Lagos this time.) ![]() The key to unlock the squalor in the East is to vote for one-term Governors knowing the 2nd term is a free for all, this principle is applicable to all other federating units of Nigeria. |
The Hausa / Fulani has lost so many gallant men (Yaradua’s hommies ) to this regime. Sacking the CBN Governor by the Jonathan regime would be one step too far and tempting faith; in fact the regime would put an abrupt end to her functionality and legitimacy as a Government This regime would have nailed her own coffin. Is not that Sanusi is any good, the casualty of the Hausa / Fulani stock has being insurmountable, caution had to be revoked and reigned in. |
That is becomeRich's 600th aliases, and Alhaji Bako's first, welcome to NL Alhaji Bako, and kudos to BecomeRich on your 601th alias today surely calls for celebration. ![]() |
The Capital is Abuja now there is noting we can about that, the Aguda Commision who found Abuja back in 1976 should have chosen Lokoja. Too late now Lokoja with her Confluence of the Benue and Niger would have being like KHARTOUN IN the Sudan that sits in the conflunce of the White Nile and Blue Nile. Secondly ships would be have being able to berth in its river port. London is some good 60 KM from the the sea but the River Thames is capabale of taking any ship right into the middle of the city that is good. |
The Problem we have in Nigeria is there is a dearth scarcity of beautiful affordable condo's. Eko Atlantic City or Cities that would be created in the Naija Delta should take note of this. There are over 15 million Nigerians in DIaspoaras who would be more than happy to part with 25% deposit on luxurious apartments in Lagos , Abuja OR Porth Harcourt irrespective of tribe. The key is Nigerian financial institions should be willing to give out mortgages on such choice properties in high brow areas knowing that a default would lead to a summarily re-possession of the product and sold to the ever ready buyers. Apart from the 15 million diasporas there are at least another 20 million home based Nigerians that can afford what ever they want, the purchasing power of this 30 million individuals should be carefully taking care off, as they are the ones that would propel the economy from a stale one product economy to a multi facet one. The FG through the CBN should make mortgage funds available to all and sundry provided a handsome deposit of between 25 and 30 % is deposited. Developer's should also be encorage to build affordable condo's in our major cities not what we have presently at Banana Island in Ikoyi where Flats in Condos are going for $600,000 to a million dollars, if we have a glut of such buildings the prices would drop and the quality does not necessary have to be compromised. The craze for Nigerian shares a few years ago made me realise diasporas and Nigerians at home are always looking and seeking for the next viable investment in their home country, the only stumbling block being the FG, the FG should relentlessly pursue a policy of providing an enabling enviroment if they are to be taking seriously, this more than anything should be a priority. |
How come this road, and the Lekki-Epe Expressway are so expensiveWell I have noting to say for or against Fashola and his God Father Tinunbu, but one thing I am happy about, is that phantom Airport project of their’s have hit a brick wall, and it would have to be done with the co-operation of a FG that they don’t seem to see eye to eye. ![]() Road building is one of those statutory rights which both the states and feds have a stake and can solely initiate, develop and maintain, this right if anything would be explored and exercised to the maximum by the money grabbing loan sharks employed by Lagos State Government to the detriment of the millions in search of that famed but rather scarce $1 a day. On this issue Tinunbu and Fashola are allowed to cull or eke out the maximum toll from the citizens of the state, whilst it is important not to disregard the terrain and the topographical make up of Lagos State, a combination of hard ground and swampy mangroves, the mind blowing figure of a billion Naira PER KM is delirious and unsettling to say the least. ![]() But then the project can been seen to be laudable unfortunately the God-fathers would be all smiles to the bank, who gives a damn anyway if one is able to move from point A to B in record time. After all that is what sets Lagos apart from the more advanced and develop cities, that ability to take 101 routes to a particular place without restrictions, it would be news worthy to note that there are only 3 routes from the mainland to the islands in Lagos, a City that has a conservative estimates of a million motorist and cyclist. The new road would be a welcome relief to suffering and smiling Lagosians, thumbs up and carry go Fashola. |

This project aint gonna happen, no be with Chinaman , past Nigerian Goverment has shown the Chinese that u don't have to lift a finger and dig the ground to make money in Nigeria. I can remember OBJ signing a contract with the Chinese to refurbish and resusitate our dead railway industry only for his sucessor to scuttle it therby handing over a non-refundable bill of about $500 million dollars to the Chinese. Who are we to say this contract or Mou would not be scuttled by some clueless semi- illetrate leader in the future. On a brighter note thus OBJ made an initial down payment to get the ball rolling, I believe it was in the region of a $1 Billion dollars, that money has not only made the Chinese know there is easy money to be made in some African countries without lifting a grain of sand they the (Chinese) are now accustomed to doing business this way. This new Mou is not worth the paper it is written on. I recently stumbled on a web site of PW Contractors, I compared jobs done in some Africa countries with what obtains in Nigeria, I was aggrieved when I notice that whilst $12 million dollar was earmarked to be spent on a 6 km strecht of township roads in some of our state capitals in Nigeria the same amount of money was spent on building 80km of roads in Ghana by the same company. That kept we wondering, clearly most of the projects in Nigeria are over inflated to accommodate the Governor's share and the contractor's profit, invariably what tends to happen is a $5million project in Ghana could easily without much ado be awarded for $20 million dollars in Nigeria so as to compensate and appease all necessary stake-holders, at times I think and wonder are we really a doomed country ?. ![]() |
I think Gov Jang of Plateau State is a bad example of a Christain northern Governor, Kaduna State are afraid that this Christain Deputy Governor might become another Jang, using Police Men attached to him as a Murder squad in a ethnic cleasing operation of getting rid of the Hausa / Fulani from Plateau State. We all know power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. |
Isn that a defeatist approach to tackling the issue called Nigeria? So because I cannot stop him from resuming work tommorow is reason why I should BOW AND GO WITH THE FLOW? And here I thought you are one of those who wanted a change from the status quo in that country. It is not a defeatist approach because I have made my views known, I am happy with Sambo's nomination, if I was in Jonthan's shoe Iwould have gone for the same guy. I love visionaries. |
And then we have some clueless folks claiming Sambo wears the face of humility and hes the best gov in the north whiskey tango fox. God I ask you? when are you going to deliver us from bondage? The same God u are asking when is he going to deliver us from Bondage, gave us Jesus Christ who once quoted " a family without a vision would perish, a city without a vision would perish, and a country without a vision would perish, at least with Sambo we can see his vison and that speaks volume. |
BULL . . . stop making stuff up if you really believe this is supposed to be just your opinion. Good citizens ain't supposed to do jack of what you are willing to do.What can u do to stop this gentleman from resuming his new job whether u like him or not ![]() |
I am not even going to ask you go you came by that. But why do we, after admitting that most all of the governors are incompetent, care?My views are personal dont quote me out of context. Whether they are good or bad the Presidenct has made his choice and it only make sense for good citizens to rally round whoever is chosen afterall we never knew how good Fashola was when he was un-veilled by Tinubu 3 years ago. So no need having a senseless and pointless argument that is based on one person's perception of an individual. I cannot stop him from resuming his new post as the VP of Nigeria neither can you. |
