Fashola will never patronize, Nigeria will never support, why?, Because it's from Igboland, if this were in Lagos now, you would have felt the impact, !!!The Onus is on the company to sell the geniuety and durability of their products to the sceptics and all asundry and not State goverments chasing the company, perharps a few give away might help but then this would not be a good strategy for a new company who has probably mortgaged herself to the hilt. |
I hope this wild animal has not gone the same way as the Tasmanian Tiger OR better still the dinosours in which case his majesty would be banished to this mud hut for the rest of his life. |
Without the demise of Ekinrin, nobody uses its feather.” This is a popular Yoruba proverb which underscores the importance of the rare and wild bush animal. Currently in Ososa, Ogun State, the hometown of the late legendary doyen of Nigerian theatre, Dr. Hubert Ogunde, the animal is the issue. Ekinrin, will decide for how long Dr. Olatoye Alatishe, the new Gbengade, will stay in a two-bedroom hut made up of palm-fronts. Already, hunters within and outside the town have been deployed in search of the bush animal which must be brought alive to the town. It is part of several traditional rites for the enthronement of Alatishe, the former chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Council as the new traditional ruler of the town. In an interview with Daily Sun, the Gbengade-elect said: “We have done Ileken, we are now in Odo. It is a situation where you are placed in a harsh condition regardless of where you are coming from. It is meant for a new traditional ruler in Ososa to feel what it looks like as a normal grassroots or special person. I have had to leave the comfort of my home and stay here for a specific number of days which is determined by the availability of an animal called Ekinrin.” “I can’t go out. I have been here since last week and they must find an animal called Ekinrin. You must have heard the Yoruba proverb, Laiku Ekinrin, a ki nfawo se gbedu.” It is called Ekinrin in this area and hunters are all over the place to look for it. The day it appears, that is when I will leave here. |
Have the state govt where he is operating from at the moment invested in them? Why aren't most South Eastern,South Southern state investing in them at the moment, the Rivers, Calabar etc etc just commissioned thousands of buses imported from Brazil and elsewhere,Lagos is one of the main gateways to Nigeria, when u see made in Nigeria Buses running from Ketu to CMS on a daily basis and noting adverse is happening to the Buses, b4 long transporter's and other stake holder's in the transportation business would be showering the product with encomiums, as soon as that happens it would spread like wild fire. Every LG from Potiskum to Mushin would start ordering the product. The product needs to have a footprint in a mega urban city like Lagos for its vitality, vulnerabality and durability to be appreciated. |
At times like this, I wish there is an Eastern Nigerian government to help fund this great company. I'm still holding out hope for such a government because Nigeria is too bogged down in primordial encumbrances. This is where Obi should stand up and be counted. He won the election, it would be a slight on him and his mentorer Ojukwu, if a home grown company is allowed to re-locate out of the country. I beleive and insist that both Soludo and Ngige will not let this opportunity slip from their hands. Having said that, the bus pictured above is much better looking than any of those ugly looking Buses BRT is operationg, I suggest they make their orders henceforth from this company. What Lagos state Govt needs to do is, buy a few Buses and run them for a while, if they pass the durability test, then I see no reasons why Goverments all over Nigeria should not patronise them after all, the under the table and under the hand deals which is the bane of our buisness culture can always be done with Nigerians who are already accustomed to this kind business ethics than with foreigners. |
Ohakim's looting, another dent to the aspiration of hard working and sincere Igbo men. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-485444.0.html#msg6448643 |
Mr President, I and my consultant would registered every Nigerian electorate for $50 million dollars, SAVING our great nation a whooping $450 million dollars, ![]() My proposal is no joke, we shall even deliver on time. I hope your snooper's and hanger-ON's would draw your attention to this saving measure perharps if you don't mind me saying it, a certain slush fund can be retrived from the savings and put towards your campaeign fund to booster your electoral war chest. ![]() Keep the slush fund part quiet, as that would be our little secret. |
This Akala must be living in Cukoo land, he is at loggerhead with the Alaafin of Oyo and the Monarch of Ibadan is not also a friend, Ibadan which consists of half the population of the state is not behind you, Oyo Town is not, the Oke-Oguns the Shaki's and Iseyin's are indifferent yet he thinks he is going to win with the backing of only Ogbomosho. We shall see the magic formula he is planning on using unfold b4 our very eyes. This man is a goner already hence him crying wolf b4 the whistle is even blown. |
Where is that simpleton from Texas who was planning on running, I guess he has smelt the coffee, Duke is fighting a lost cause OR better still a rebel without a cause. Che Guevera when he had all the machinery to pull out a succesful revolution he succeded like championshiop poker player, a worthy chess grandmaster , but when he stuck his unbridled head in the murky swamps of Bolivian Politics without the necessary machinery behind him he was shot like a dog, killed like a common criminal. I guess Duke has his strategy but a good stretegy it better be, because the Nigerian terrane defiles reasoning logic let alone common sense, that terrane is not for the faint hearted, it is the homestead of blood sucking vampire's who would not flinch at killing their own mothers OR defiling their own sister's in other to chase an allusion, Duke be prepared for war. |
I think you should go and get yourself a job. That will keep you busyThis country should address main issues, and the issues pointed out here are issues that touch the core of our national psyche. You might be a jonathan man, if he really wants a free and fair election then he should push for one of the 2 ways forward otherwise we all know it would be business as usaul. Akala has already started the ball rolling by boasting of winning an election in which in most cases most Nigerians are yet to know who the other contestant are. For your notice I have a job and I don't work saturday I am sure your mentor Messer's Jonathan dosen't work Saturday too. /size]\ |
With about $120 million dollars cheaper than the largest mall in Africa, it is clear what these clowns want to build, a good lockup shop similar to Tejusho Market. Nigerians and big grammer instead of the silly man telling us the real truth he was being economic with it, building the largest lock-ups store East of the Niger River is different from building a proper and real mall. Does he know what a mall is OR consist of, I have seen quite a few malls built by illetrate Alhaji's in Ibadan this project is only on a grander scale from what can easily be termed Nigerian Mall, anyway he used the word mall to attract maximum attention, he sure got the attention quite alright, but mall it ain't. ![]() |
Let the status quo be maintained; since the electorates are the chiefSince when did they become chief, it is either this suggestion OR we go electronic/ computerized with biometric and finger printing propertise incooporated into the whole procedure any other form of election would be a complete sham. |
History has shown in Nigeria that an Incumbent President cannot conduct a free and fair election if such individual was also running in the said election. I would not lose any sleep over the forth-coming elections as the trend would almost be the same as those of OBJ and other previously held incumbent elections, the terrible and grossly rigged elections of 1983 elections also comes to mind. I would advise the National Assembly to amend our constitution to reflect this suggestion. The best elections held in our country were presided over by a Head of State OR president who is not contesting no wonder Abiola's election is said to be one of the best in the country. OBJ's 1979 election was equally free and fair except of course of the 12/2/3 palaver. An incumbent running for an election is like a refree presiding over a football match result when it is common knowledge he is either the owner of one of the clubs or a significant share holder with a lot of influnce. But on a whole I think the way forward would be to ask an incumbent to resign 3 months b4 an election if he/she is going to run in that election as it would be wrong and wholly inconceivable to drag the miliatary out of their barracks to play the refree as such proposal might get them involved in politics which can be counter-productive. So the solution would be for the VP to preside over the security matters arising during the elections. Another item that should be instilled and in-cooperated into our election procedure is the declaration of results from the ward level independently and not by a centre location like LG HQ or State Capital OR better still Abuja. What do NL think of this suggestion. |
Y you may be right about a soldier using such language but how can you compare Nigeria's soldiers at that time with Idi Amin? Nigeria had its finest officers during that era. Ironsi, Ogundipe (he commanded troops in Burma during the second world war) , Maimalari were excellent soldiers. Ojukwu, Ademoyega, Banjo, Rotimi, Ifeajuna, and Olutoye were all graduates before enlisting. We are talking of a man who rose from other ranks in Africa between the 1940's to 1960's and you expect much from him, u cannot compare the others with this Gentleman. And I doubt Maimalari being an Hausa man it is well documented the Brits favoured the Hausa with regards to the Military, the Igbo's were well learned thus. |
"I make bold to declare to you that, I am with you soul, spirit and body. And mark my words, whatever happens to you today, happens to me. I am your true friend, dear J.U.T like the dove to the pigeon, and by the grace of our good God, so will I humbly yet proudly remain till the very end." According to Ajiki,I doubt a man said to go through the ranks from a private to the officer cadre would be erudite enough to command in prestine queens English the above quotation as detailed especially under duress of being killed. The above caption are stuff of fiction, an allusion and are legendary but a precise give away, stories like these should be told to the marines OR better still peddle in run down booze bars. ![]() The wordings and the quotaion is almost shakesperian, very un-Nigerian, are we to believe this cock and bull story just because the officer's involved were trained during the colonial era and that surley makes them an epitome of a quintesential English gentleman both in speech and mannerism. At least Idi Amin dada of Uganda was a product of pre-colonial Uganda not any different from Fajuyi, he too rose through the ranks, he being the head of state of his country is a testemony of the calibre of officer produce by the Brits at the time, Idi Amin's bungling is legendary and his buffonery was more than obvious for the whole world to see, he could'nt have being better than any other semi-illetrate officer's that abounds Nigeria at the time, Idi Amin is a yard-stick for refrence as to the demeanour of officer's at the helms of affiars of Nigeria and a damn good yard stick it is. ( Gowon we all know with the benefit of hinsight was not the smartest officer either how much one that rose through the ranks). ![]() Good story but a really tall story that should be discounted with the simplest of thought, probably a good bed time story for the orphaned kids of Ironsi and Fajuyi. ![]() |
How can any man born of a woman accuse God the creator and men of God of grand larceny? OR theft when it is clear as day light the act of giving to a Church is purely voluntary, Akingbola and Ibru could have taking their ill gotten wealth to the million and one Churches OR Mosque in Nigeria, OR better still Switzerland like the Abacha’s and IBB’s of this world. We should thread carefully on a very delicate subject that has the tendency of altering our future goals in life. |
You cant remember because you cant open your eyes to that fact that daddy BO is using con tactics this is what yahoo boys call formats to collect money from paranoid and illiterate pple like you.I will not be drawn into a who is a bigger basher of men of God in NL with you, there is no pride in such a proposition for me, is it the hailing from demons on this site that would make me deny my God only to take the brunch later on in life OR is it the eloquence in arguing the existence of God. I just pray you don’t get the heat and venom of 1/2000000th of God’s wrath throughout your life, for judgment is the lord and he and only him has the prerogative right to dispense such judgement. When did such revered area of man become the domain of his fellow man, surely the world is definitely coming to an end, and equally surely the anti-Christ is fighting a fervent but losing battle to redeem some of his lost lieutenant, the die is cast and the lines are drawn, I know which side of the divide I am. |
Nigerians stop quoting the bible when its relates to basic things like adegbola and adeboye stealing money This statement is a classical Blasphemous statement, may the lord forgive you. I can’t remember Daddy GO stealing from anyone. ![]() |
The only state that should be created is Anioma state. That is all. The Delta Igbo need their own stateI second that, but also believe the Southern Kaduna’s need a state and probably Ibadan State. Ibadan as a single city is almost bigger than some state if one were to take some outline villages which are 10 to 15 km from Ibadan. Towns like Omi-Adio, Asejire, Monatan, Abanla and other villages on the old Lagos Road, Abeokuta road and Iwo Road. The size of Ibadan is scary. To think there is still income for the rest of Oyo state is an amazement. ![]() |
Akingbola’s contribution in the church has being mixed up with a million peasant’s contribution, it is not unheard off for night marauders to pray b4 an operation. (I am not in anyway saying it is good OR condoning it but such is life). Everyone are in church for a reason, the Akingbola’s and Ibru’s of this world will want the grease that oil their money making machinery to continue till eternity, so would the poor okada rider he/she would pray for a bumper week on a weekly basis when in Church on a Sunday. If these prayers come to past, who are we to instruct a Church to give a gift which was given in good faith and in exhilarating circumstances to hand it over to some offending authorities, how do you separate the widows mite from the okada rider from the high and mighty of the society when it is common knowledge that such pool of funds goes to covering pressing issues facing the Church and spreading the gospel. Do we now tell OR inform saved souls that the preaching renditions that made them become good Christians and born again is faulted as some individuals who commit to the gift aid that enable the whole evangelical exercise to come to frution are suspicious and their being a born again is invalid and should be discounted, when it is clear the will of Christ for humanity has being achieved as a soul has being saved and heaven is rejoicing. If it were a case where fraudulent Grants and Aids is used to keep the pastor in a style that is contrary to God’s will, the style and the pastor would go down hill in no time, a reverent man of God would always be fruitful in all season. |
When the bible talks of increasing you a 1000 folds, what the spiritual connotation means is vile men, and women of discerning characters would be comatose and confused, because of their incessant and undeservedly acquired wealth they have plundered from society, the whole exercise of stealing, embezzling and misappropriating of funds does not gives a restless and guilty soul peace, that is why there is an inextricable link between pen robbers and places of worship. The souls of these men and women pricks them with guilt and the only way they can somehow have or savour that innate peace of mind that is elusive to them is by giving away some of those wanton stolen wealth and where else can be more fulfilling than a place of worship. This harvest is wholly acceptable in many places of worship, for a kindred Sheppard who has been believing God for some respite in her request to spread the word gets it from these vile restless souls, and it does prove a mark of a genuine man of God otherwise every single one of us would open a church tomorrow hoping to get such largesse from these rogues but alas let me tell you ladies and gentlemen, those men of God have put in the hours, in prayer, fasting, and abstinence for these miracles to happen, to the discerning eyes he/she is just another lucky pastor who has connections in the corridors of power OR in high places. Did the clergy put a gun to the temple of these men before they come running into the house of God offering the man of God the most obscene help one can imagine, the answer is capital NO. (No wonder some of them are prepared to buy men of God private jets, if that is what the man of God is believing God for so be it after all the bible says ask and u would be giving, seek and u would find, knock and the door would open.) These men are only trying to absolve themselves from the sins they have committed during their day jobs. Every human being has still got a chance to redeem their souls up to the very last breath before they die, therefore for people like Akingbola and Ibru every Sunday service is an alta call, whereby they are bath in the glory of the lord by asking for forgiveness, the consequence of this spiritual ritual is their sins are wiped out completely, and from then henceforth they are according to acceptable Christian doctrine and norm are believed to be as white as fresh snow, we should not forget our God is a forgiving God. The downside to this spiritual topsy- turvy is on Monday they are back to their old buccaneering ways but in most cases they will hope to last until the following Sunday where the ritual would follow the same proceedings yet again. These are the ways and mannerism of a restless and guilty soul. Even non believer’s like Bill Gates have to commute a fair chunk of his vast wealth in fighting Aids and HIV related illness in some countries in Africa by having an inner guilt of not giving to society what society has giving to him. Conclusion: Daddy GO, should not give a penny back to whomever because the growth of a church is seeing as a true manifestation and a vindication that the man of God is threading on the right trail, those who are fakes and are con-men fall by the wayside b4 too long, they are only successful for a season and not at all season. Has Daddy GO gone down when Ibru and co went down, No, in fact that Church is waxing from strength to strength. |
The only multi billion business the chinese have succeded in doing in Africa is flooding the whole continuent with some rickety bikes with about 1 stroke engine or less called " Okada" in Nigeria and various other names in other parts of Africa. These bikes would not pass the standard test of products worthy of entering the UK or even Europe yet it is the behove of all our community in Africa, I doubt if we can do without them hence the average poverty sticken African worshipping this wonder man who built the Okada with reverence. ![]() I just remembered the other multi billion work the chinese are involved in, in Nigeria is sharing of mobilization fee for a spurious and vague contract with bent African leaders and officials, God knows what came of the $500 million dollar mobilization fee paid towards the Lagos to Kano rail-road OR the one taking for the power project initiated by OBJ. Is this the multibillion contract some clueless poster is talkin about here. ![]() I wonder why Fashola did not engage a Chinese firm when he planned to re-claim land from the sea after all the chinese are konwn to have done similar projects in Beijein during the run-up to the Olympics. ??? ![]() |
30 hotels, 10 stadia, power stations, housing estates, cutting edge railways, 160,000 jobs, and Lets analysis this statment one by one. 30 Hotels - No where in the world does goverment build and run hotels. I would be shocked to know that SA, the economic power house of Africa has resulted to this archeic and barbaric way of running a goverment where the Goverment builds and maintain Hotels. This is a private money territory, I am not too sure Jacob Zuma built 30 hotels this statement is a fallacy and should be discounted as rantings of a mad man. ( The only country in the world where Goverment still builds Hotels is Naija) 10 Stadia - In the UK and the USA, Govemrnets do not own stadia, but on this occasion being an African Country without any Known club which can pay the cost of building the stadia in a short number of years I am inclined to believe that the SA Goverment bankrolled this project. Power House- In most developed countries it is private capital domain, the goverment might give incentives to would be investors but not to outrightly built a power station to run. It is bound to end in tears and fundermental losses, I beg to differ on this, I would not expect the Joseph Zuma's Govement to build, operate and maintain power houses in SA, this is another fallacy which should be discounted. Housing Estates - In most deveolped countries in the world it is a private enterprise domain. In SA, there is a huge disparity between the rich and the poor, the SA Goverment might build new estates in other to transfer the holdings to poor blacks as a social hosing scheme after the games, this is necessary and understandable because of the prevaling poverty in the ghetto's one cannot rule out an ANC covert programme of enpowering poor blacks, this I would not discount as it might be an incentive for the poor to get unto the property ladder. ]Railways- Are normally privately run in most wastern countries, but the fact it was Goverment run even in the UK about 20 years ago, SA being a new democracy and determined to host the World Cup, I would not rule out Govewrment intervention. This project I would bet is 100% Goverment funded but may be transfered to private organisation after the games. It is necessary for fans to transfer between games and if private funds is not forth-coming fast enough the Goverment might step in by taking the bull on the horn by funding the project in other to avoid embarassing herself. On the other hand, OBJ might have awarded the contracts of the electricity project to crooked people who only not inflated the contract but did a runner after collecting mobilization fee from the goverment. How does the Presidency tell the whole world they have just being swindled by a bunch of fast thinking 419. ![]() I was once taking for a ride whilst building a pumping machine in my motrher's abode. After the best part of N65,000.00 has being spent by me the project was as bad as I met it. No water in the house, pumping machine packed up after swithing it on for the first time. I said to myself if I spent £250.00 in the UK I will see what I spent the money on but alas in Naija the sitiuation is completely different. OBJ is not a saint and I am not in anyway exnonerating him but the fact is, he was swindled by political associate who he cannot point a finger at. ![]() Conclusions: OBJ would have done what Zuma did when face with the prospect of hosting a world cup. I don' t think Zuma was any better than OBJ nor cleverer. The issues at stake are completly different. ![]() |
Are you telling me that the isle of dogs development was on the same scale as Eko Atlantic extending a whole city out of London? Was the isle of dogs not already there, and if it was a developed abandoned plot, how does this counter my poinThere is know difference between Lagos reclaiming lands lost to the sea and the Isle of Dog which happens to be reclaimed marshlands from the R. Thames and it is not an artificial Island. It is a natural Island caused by OX-Bow lake formation of the R. Thames. |
m I seeing things or did you just channel my point? Last time I checked Canary Wharf isn't an island. Canary Wharf is in the Isle of dog, a semi Island caused by an extreme winding River Thames. |
Eko Atlantic city scheme is only recovering land lost to the sea since 1951, it is not as if Lagos State in her infinite wisdom is chasing shadows trying to claim land from a ferocious sea. The sea have taking from the land since 1951, and the wise Governor is only reversing a trend, the FG as the custodian of lagos for 2 decades should have fixed. This project should be FG driven but for the tribal and ethnic politics played at that level, it is why the State Goverment has taking the lead. For Instance the Liason Offices opposite Bar Beach has being abandoned for decades by each and every state, those houses are a derelict which should be destroyed and the land made use off, infact incorporating that part of VI into the Eko Atlantic Project will not be far-fetched, but for tribal, ethnic and FG squabbles those prime porpertise are going to waste in one of the most sought after lands in the country. Eko Atlantic City a new land recovered due to the ingenuity of Fashola, a land devoid of clanish claims, tribal and ethnic strife is a no man's land where a visionary leader can put his most audacious and ambitous plan into fruition without hurting anyone and paying undue and unnecessary compensation is a welcome development. |
Can't he depose the alaafin?. Governors have the power. The Alaafin is not some second rated King of an unkonwn town, he is the Political head of the Yoruba's why the Ooni remains the spiritual head, the day the Governor tries that he would have written not only his own obituary he would also dig his own grave. The Governor who would depose the Alaafin has not yet be born, how much more a scalliwag like Akala. |
When the men from the East had the opportunity to vote a supposedly visonary man into power in Anambra state they opted for the incumbent, who after 4 years of doing nothing will only pursue his retirement largesse in earnest, second terms for non-performing Governors is a licencense to plunder the meagre resources of the state. At least Soludo should have being giving the benefit of the doubt, of turning Onitsha and Anambra state as the Dubai of the East. Why are some people jealouse of a Visionary Governor in the West who is pursuing his goal with the zeal and gusto of a championship horse. The man who coronated this chap ( Tinubu ) cannot stop him now because he is on the roll like a giant avalanche, he would sweep any obstacle off its way, this are the cold truth of being obedient, focus, and sincere. Fashola u are top dog in Nigeria keep that giant snowball rolling. |
A proper investigation into the plot to kill the Alaafin of Oyo, if and only if the investigators can do a thorough job, don't be suprise it would have the hallmark bleaching hands of Messers Akala written all over it, this man is guilty as charge and should be apprehended without much ado. It is unfathomable to think a Monarch of the status of the Alaafin would stoop so low as to accuse a Governor of this misdeed. The Governor surly needs the Alaafin to garner support for him in Oyo Town, the Alaafin on the other hand does not need the Governor because in his time he has seen many governors come and go. |
Just because Messers Babangida's son is not fit to run for Chairmanship of a LG let alone Governor of his state, after the poor lad has being spoilt rotten by his father's billion does not give IBB the right to insult the sons of the down and trodden who have learnt the hard craft of how to make a few bob in the midst of the penury he(IBB) has reduced the Nigerian populace to. Any Kid who can irk a living under such dire and unfreindly enviroment would surely be able to run Nigeria very well from her vast reserve of oil and gas revenue. IBB has had his chance and next time he feels like having a potshot at the youths he should turn his anger and frustration at his spoilt brat of a son. Did he not splash $1 MILLION Dollar during this Nigerian Richy Rich's wedding a few years back, the spoilt brat after having a field day with his new wife, got bored and took another wife less than 18 months after marrying the first wife. IBB should go and tame that dog b4 he marries his 6th wife instead of abusing the sensibility of hard working Nigerian Youths. |
