But you compared Ejiogu with today's Akpeyi and Ezenwa.

Anyways, this no be court of law. We are just discussing.
Yes cos you said Ejiogu can only be good for CHAN if we have one then which I quite agreed based on what we have Enyeama,Ejide,Aiyenugba.

Do not forget we still have Greg Etafia,Ambrose Vanzekein,Uche Akubuike and solid Sunday Rotimi,so not even easy for him to make it but despite that Ejiogu of then is better than Ezenwa of today.

Pls check the list
1.Vincent Enyeama
2.Austin Ejide
3.Dele Aiyenugba
4.Sunday Rotimi
5.Greg Etafia
6.Uche Akubuike
7.Yakubu Haruna
8.Ambrose Vanzekein
9.Chiejoke Ejiogu

Pls tell me who Ezenwa or Akpeyi of today better on the list

He was not tested at the international level. Club and national team football are not the same. So you can't conclude he would have faired better.

If a goalie like Akpeyi with his performance in the PSL was never given the chance to play for the SE you would have said he was one of the best goalies that was never given the opportunity.

The other day some of us were blaming the Eagles handlers of the 90s for not giving Williams Okpara a chance in the Super Eagles only for the clips of the Holland friendly to surface and we found out it was the William Okpara that was the atrocious keeper in that second half.

I personal do not feel comfortable rating players that are or were not tested.
I didn't start this, someone said Ejiogu was a good keeper and i said oh Arugo Monkey very good keeper nothing more.I don't think anyone mentioned may be he was good for Eagles then but you came up with eagles stuff.

On goalkeepers given chance before you can rate them, well if i see one i know and that's why i will always rate Uzoho and Ajiboye than Ezenwa and Akpeyi.

I'm one of the critique of Uzoho but watching him against Girona i changed my mind, also watching Ajiboye against Guinea showed that he is good and recent NPFL six invitational tournament in Kano showed Ajiboye is better than Ezenwa but am not the coach,if Rohr still stick with Ezenwa no issue cos is a must to respect his decision.

Ahmed Musa bagged an assist against Argentina. If he does something similar again during the March friendlies, do you think his chances will be slim?
On Awaziem, I'm going by performance in SE colors. He did well against Argentina. If he repeats a similar feat during the March friendlies he would be as well on the plane to Russia.

On Vincent Enyeama (IF), no point replaying this debate. I already put a big IF.
On Kayode, I said "IF in consideration", he has a point to prove. You are saying if Nwakaeme, is then he should be. That's what you say. But you won't be the one handing the invites.

I am not bringing any sentiments to his. When Aina made his debut I hailed him. But since then he's not been impressive for SE. He has a point to prove. I never said he won't make it to Russia.

Bazeee just started to get game time.. Both he and Success are in a similar category. Rohr is interested in both, but something has always stood in their way to joining to the team.. Let's be realistic. They belong to the same class. no sentiments here. Once Success starts to get game time, he will definitely get a call up.

As regards our group chances, let's wait and see.

Echiejile retained his staring place for a long spell due to lack of competition. The situation is very different now.
Bazee is getting games but Success is not even making match day squad so different scenario.

Maybe if there was a CHAN Eagles team as at then, he would have been banked on but not the Super Eagles team.

As is stands, these are sure bankers
1. Victor Moses
2. Obi Mikel
3. Kelechi Iheanacho
4. Alex Iwobi
5. Odion Ighalo
6. Leon Balogun
7. Troost Ekong
8. Moses Simon
9. Shehu Abdullahi
10. Wilfred Ndidi
11. Eddy Onazi

If these players can show their relevance again in March friendlies, they are sure bankers
1. Brian Idowu
2. John Ogu
3. Tyronne Ebuehi

4. Ahmed Musa*he should be in category 3 just like Echiejele cos he still has a lot to prove that why he is still relevant in the team

5. Chidozie Awaziem*he should be in category 1 of your list though not really spectacular but his performance in French league is awesome and remain the best performing SE CB

6. Kenneth Omeruo

7. Francis Uzoho

8. Vincent Enyeama (IF)*i don't think Enyeama is ready to come back so let plan with what we have for now

These players still have a lot to prove:
1. Mikel Agu*i don't rate him but he should be in category 2 of your list

2. Anthony Nwakaeme

3. Olarenwaju Kayode (IF in consideration)*if Nwakaeme is considered then definitely he would be considered.

4. Oghenekaro Etebo

5. Henry Onyekuru*his recent injury likely to affect his chances cos he is a fringe player in eagles even when fit.

6. Ola Aina*am seeing him making the team and it w depend on Echiejele form and fitness though Ebuhei and Idowu still need to tell us their performance against Argentina is not a fluke.

7. Elderson Echiejile*if Musa is in category 2 then Echiejele should be there cos despite his poor showing he still maintain his starting berth until injury set in.

Some players who are not in the team who would get an opportunity to gate crash:
1. Joel Obi*i don't see him gatecrashed into the team cos he is not reliable due to injury.

2. Sarenren Bazee*well one of the players Rohr convinced to play for Nigeria with that he can make it but need to prove he has overcome his injury.

3. Isaac Success*only sentiment would make him made the team, apart from that i don't see him breaking into the team

I hope I am not missing any names hereEzenwa, Akpeyi, Alampasu,Ajiboye and Maduka, mind you any of our keepers can make the team cos it's open for grab

I don't expect it to be an easy pass for Torunarigha, Uduokhai and Akpboguma if they all switch to playing for Nigeria. But one of the trio may make it to Russia.

__I don't want to talk much on these trio cos they are not ready so count them out.

Our chances:
Nigeria will go past the second round for the first time. That I am sure of. I foresee us stealing a point from the Argentina game.
Iceland will shock one team in the group.
Argentina will get two unfavorable results. you know anything below a win is unfavorable for them.

-----better for Argentina to get good result in their first two matches so that we can have relax mind to play them not getting favourable results against Iceland and Croatia meaning our match against them would be difficult. Let everything be settled before Argentina match,am seeing Nigeria and Argentina making it to the next round.
Good list but read my little inputs.

Yes. His performance never projected him to the Super Eagles then because we had Enyeama, Ejide and Ayenugba. EOD.
Even as at that time Chiejoke Ejiogu was not better than the trio but good keeper that can be bank on,i remember watching him against Enyimba with Dele in goal,my man he stole the show,it was Ejiogu vs Aiyenugba cos the two had a great 120 minutes but during penalties shootout,Ejiogu was fantastic.

Fans live in the present. Rohr can only achieve the goals placed before him. He can not play the WC before it is time.

We had qualified for the second round before 2014. We have matched Argentina, Spain and Italy in the WC . A groundbreaking achievement would be a quarterfinal position.

Keshi was praised when he was succeeding. He gradually lost fans when the results became unfavorable.

Rohr is achieving success now so Fans are correct to get behind him.
Yes fans are behind him but not a yardstick to run Keshi's achievement down.

Tell me one England international player who has been relegated to the U23's is struggling to make the bench is having almost zero playing time that is still relevant to the England national team pleasehuh

Unless you are given the opportunity to perform how will anybody know what you can do.

When Torres moved from Liverpool to Chelsea for £50 million. He was already off the boil, however Spain still kept sentimental faith with him. They took him to the World cup in 2010 and he was abysmal.

We may want to remain optimistic however, you need to be playing to keep your sharpness more so as striker. There are situations when a player is not getting on with manager, clash of personalities, disputes, etc. But that's not KC's situation.

Moving to a Championship club will.help to prove his pedigree and improve him as a player.

yes you are right that for now there is no comparison between keshi and rohr however one cannot say because of his achievements we will not remember some of his mistakes. I will consider myself one of the big bosses staunchest supporters but I know some of his player selections then were somehow. From Agbim to gabriel reuben to uchebo these few stand out for me but the decision that had me scratching my head was his refusal to take Ike uche to the world cup even though he was our best performing striker at the time. Yes he qualified togo for the world cup but remember it was his falling out with emmanuell adebayor that led to Togo's poor performance at the 2006 AFCON while he did coach mali he didn't achieve anything of note with them. So no matter which way you cut it his critics have enough mud to throw at him but for me he will always remain the legend and great of african nigerian football.

As for rohr he failed with niger and didn't achieve anything of note with gabon and burkina faso so he still has a lot to prove
My man my comment emanated due to a moniker who portrayed Keshi as a corrupt man.So that's not criticism but tarnishing his image with malicious facts, hope you get my point now,am not here to defend Keshi but to put the record straight.

I do criticised Keshi but with fact not beer parlour fact, definitely he must be criticised but there are some criticisms that are absurds and not good for someone personality.Do we say Rohr is receiving bribes for calling player like Musa to camp despite not playing for Leicester city or do we accused him of collecting money for Nwakili invitation, remember Aaron Samuel invitation,i believe Rohr is the coach and i must respect his decision even if am not happy with it so let respect Keshi decision and people should stop label him a corrupt man.

On Ike Uche,Keshi would not be the first coach to drop a player,we have numerous examples of coaches dropping world class players citing different reasons.

It was on this thread someone was calling Onigbinde $10k dollar man and i need to come out to say that James Obiorah whom i know personally did not pay a dime before 2002 WC or where do we want Enyeama, Ejide, Opabunmi to get $10k from as home based players, forgetting the same Onigbinde coached the same team as far back as 1984.

My question is this why are we always running our country men down just cos we want to praise White men.Did you know how Dosu Joseph got into Atlanta 96 squad,he came in to the team purely on business between Bonfrere Jo and Churchill Olishe, thank God we won Atlanta 96 gold.

. It is very funny how a loanee like Kayode will be hankering for another loan spell. And how are we sure that these transfers and loan moves will guaranttee them play time.
My man we don't need to argue this,it's simple WC is around,Iheanacho is an asset to Eagles so better for us to have in form Nacho than present Iheanacho at Leicester or you want Musa to still remain at Leicester with his current situation.

Nothing wrong in Kayode seeking another loan cos he want to make the team and only way is to be playing week in week out, remember he is a fringe player in eagles but what is going for Nacho and Musa in eagles is their status especially Musa, better for them to move if possible.

European do not rate African keepers. Whilst African keepers are naturally talented, they often lack some fundamentals due to poor early coaching. Even when they have all the right qualities, they suffer from bias.

They have to twice as good as Europeans and that is no guarantee. Enyeama only got to Europe via Israel even with his heroics in Africa.
Yea you are right, the future is bright with Uzoho, Alampasu and Maduka cos they had the opportunity at a very young age,the basics things that's worrying Akpeyi and Ezenwa would not be an issue, honestly the future is bright.

If player like Kayode who is a fringe player in eagles is pushing for a loan deal then Iheanacho and Musa just need to move sitting down on the bench or playing for Leicester youth team to keep fit is not the answer, not leaving may jeopardize our performance at WC,hope you remember Mikel's performance at 2014 WC.

Thus far, Rohr has done pretty well and deserves his credit.
My man am not disputing that or trying to run Rohr down but i will never accept a situation where my country man who did so well as a player and coach funny enough late,i mean Stephen Okechukwu Keshi to be insulted with useless beer parlour fact.

This is a man that led pioneer under 20 team in 1978/79,made his debut for senior team in late 1980,went to Libya 82 and displaced Christian Chuckwu, captain Eagles at Afcon 84 at a very young age despite the presence of senior players like Muda Lawal,Henry Nwosu, paved way for Nigerian players in Europe, the first captain that led Nigeria to her first WC also coach the same team and won Afcon and reached the 2nd round in 2014 WC,qualified tiny Togo for biggest football tournament in the World, remain the only African to have managed three Africa nations namely Togo,Mali and Nigeria.

Pls with this pedigrees does he deserves insults just cos Rohr who failed in other Africa countries is doing well in Nigeria.

As in eh, trust nigerians to overlook anything they have in pursuit of something, anything, tagged 'foreign'. When you compare the Ivorian and Malian team that Keshi's team defeated enroute that Afcon win with the present Cameroonian and Algerian teams we faced this year you will see that Keshi did a lot of good work(not to mention that he did it with a restless mind, I mean he had already lost his job at some point!) but just because Rohr qualified us for the WC he is the next best thing after bread and butter. Look at Oliseh and the criticism he received and check where he is now, did Rohr ever get to that point when he was Oliseh's age? But so long as any nigerian is concerned, Oliseh should remain a pundit and he isn't fit enough to polish Rohr's boots, the thing sha tire me
Thank you Mike, some just see Rohr as tin god as if we don't know much about him in Africa especially with Burkina Faso though i appreciate him for what he is doing presently but still has a long way to go.He has to beat Keshi and Westerhoff record (2nd round WC and Afcon)before he can be a force to reckon with in Nigeria.

I no call anybody name ooooo, but I hope some people here realize that the world cup is in 5 months time give or take. Any "new" player that is been hyped here that does not make the cut for our friendly games in March should plan for 2022 (if age is still on the players side). This is Gernot Rohr we are talking about not Baba "Egunje" Keshi (May God rest his soul).
Pls stop insulting Stephen Keshi. He is late and deserves a great respect.I believe anyone that knows history of Nigeria football would never disrespect him.He has played his part and he would be remember in positive way till eternity.

Mind you Rohr hasn't done much to be compared to Keshi in Nigeria even in Africa.Rohr only achievement is WC qualification and not an achievement to us cos we have been to WC five times, hope you remember Shuaib Amodu made it for us twice,so Rohr qualification is non issue but his performance in the coming WC would determine how far and remember he still have to win Afcon to be on the same level with Westerhoff and great Keshi.

I am not laughing don't know where you got that idea from.

If you want to propel yourself upwards in the EPL and create interest, the first cousin to the EPL is the Championship. If you can perform in the Championship you will create interest from the EPL maybe not from the top 6/7 teams but generally every body else.

The EPL requires a different type of skill set in addition to the basics of skill and technical ability. And that is strength speed and physical resilience. These attributes are seen in the Championship to a great extent as a result top performing players from the championship will find themselves in the EPL.

It is better to be a top performing player in the Championship than a dead bench warming one in the EPL.

The world cup will come and go but KC will still require his career to have progression and not stagnate. he may perform for Nigeria in Russia but will it be enough to propel his club career, I simply do not knowhuh

The Belgium and Dutch leagues are considerably lower than the EPL.Depends on how you want to assess it but using UEFA coefficient analysis which is weighted towards UEFA competition performance. See the link below. Which is not a figment of my imagination as some would have you think.

https://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/country/

If we use this as base line data we would find some clubs in Belgium ranked 70 places below teams in the EPL. But that doesn't tell the whole story. The Eredivisie has the highest goals per match ratio among all leagues in the top twenty of UEFA league rankings, that tells us something. Some clubs in the Eredivisie would be ranked over a 100 places below the some EPL clubs.

Put all the data together objectively then make an objective based projection devoid of emotive sentiment. You then discover that it would not be undue bias to rank European teams and or leagues below the top 6/7 UEFA ranked leagues on par or even below the Championship.

Tega Abrahams propelled himself into the EPL after being one of the top three goal scorers in the Championship. I will remind you that this is the same Bristol City that beat a star studded Manchester United in the cup. In this regard this would be an excellent move for KC as it's apparent he is not going to get much game time in Leicester any time soon.

So considering your early assertion do you think that the championship is below the Belgium and Dutch leagues. I will concede that I suspect that Belgium league may be possibly technically superior. But I am talking competitive superiority not technical.

My comment was for those of us who always castigates championship but if the loan deal is successful likely to hear different tone about championship
