Intelligent peeps in the house, i want to know in your opinion the first four governors in Nigeria that you think is politically intelligent, eloquent and confident when in public functions, and when delivering a speech.
To me, my first four goes in these order:
*Chibuike Amaechi (Rivers)
*Rochas Okorocha (Imo)
*Muazu Aliyu Babangida (Niger)
*Osho baba (Edo) may take the fourth.
Kindly state yours.
Thanks.
Dr Kayode Fayemi is by far the most intelligent and eloquent Governor in Nigeria. Unfornuately, Ekiti State is hardly in the news. You guys can follow this man, his works and views on our polity.

idowuswap: See how yoruba boy dey go forward in musik.but i never hear say musician use igbo or hausa language sing and popular but only yoruba lang.its true
You don't have to bring tribe into every topic. Doing this will only worsen the mistrust and hatred amongst the ethnic Nationalities.

Being Yoruba does not mean I have to listen to talentless 'Pretenders' like Kayswitch, Davido et al.

Eko Ile: Look at this ignorant fool again. It's already been established that nearly all the projects commissioned by the state is on the mainland and not the island.

Can you even list 1-2 major projects on the island? It is not by force to keep displaying your ignorance. You don't know anything about lagos so just shut up.
You don't have to insult him for expressing his fears. I'll feel the same way, if I am indegenious to Lagos. The guys from Isale Eko have to go as far as Ogun state to rent/build their houses. I think there should be a provision for indigenes of the state. I had a friend from Isale who was jobless years after graduation. The guy in question is a Banking and Finance graduate, yet he couldn't get a job in any of the Banks on Marina/Broad street. This would happen in the N/delta or SE.
FamilyRe: Should I End My Marriage by kolexy(m): 4:53pm On Aug 19, 2012
8ogoegbunam: I got married early this year. My wife is a sweet lady, loving and caring lady. The only major problem we face in our young union is religoius issues. I was brought up in the anglican faith while she grew up a catholic. She promised me that she will attend attend the same church with me once we got married, her only condition is that I should wed her in the catholic church. Amidst great opposition from my parents who were against it initially on the basis of religion, I fullfilled my promise to her by holding our wedding in the catholic church.

After our wedding she bluntly refused to attend the anglican church. She even asked me to convert to catholic. Honestly, I am disappointed with her. We have quarreled over this issue several times. As a compromise, I told her to attend my church once a month; that she should continue attending her church. She bluntly refused ,her only condition for agreeing to my idea is that I should attend the catholic church with her sometimes.

I feel I have been conned into marriage.

She is 36 years , we are yet to have any children . Should I divorce her. I am worried about the faith of my future children.she hinted that our children whenever we have one most toe her own line in religious matters.

I stumbled upon a good evidence that one of her ex lovers is a reverend father. She is vey close to this priest who constantly bombard her with phone calls even at odd hours in the night.

I have no evidence that the affair is still on. Please I need sincere advice.
Yours is a sad story. It is unfortunate you got married to a dishonest Lady.

Go on your kneels and ask God for direction, not forgetting that God hates divorce.
BusinessRe: Dangote Cement Set To Reduce Cost Of Cement by kolexy(m): 9:56pm On Aug 15, 2012
Tafugo: What the f--k. Dangote is the cause of the high cement prices in Nigeria period.Who is he trying to fool.please don't believe the hype.after stifling other cement importers and crashing their businesses he now wants to hand out crumbs. The cement business is a Mafia business and the cartel is headed by Aliko.what brains do you need to import cement into Nigeria, why do you need a licence to import cement into Nigeria. The only way cement prices will crash is if like most other products importation of cement into the country is truely liberalised, and any Nigerian can import the product in 25, 50 kg or jumbo bags without fear or favor.this way cement prices will crash to the realistic price of 1,000 Naira. Or even 800 Naira at any port in Nigeria.
We shouldn't be importing cement at this age. Limestone conswtitutes @least 80% of cement, and we have it in abundance.

BusinessRe: Is GTBank Forcing Customers To Open Current Accounts? by kolexy(m): 5:34am On Aug 13, 2012
jorge1980: It seems the pretense is over with GTbank. I had issues using the internet banking platform for a couple of days trying to transfer funds from on gt acct to another. I did this without success and decided to call the customer service center.

I was gracefully told that "due to a security upgrade" transfers (including internal) can only be made from current accounts and I had to open a current account to do that.

This coming from a supposedly IT compliant bank selling bogus hardware tokens for internet banking is outrageous . I had always known the bank was overated and this just breaks the camels back......closing my account immediately.
@Poster, which bank do you work for? You do not have to demarket a competitor to draw customers to your bank.
GTB is still miles ahead of the rest.

I travelled to Ado-Ekiti last weekend. I must confess am impressed with the level of transformation going on in the state capital. But, most people on ground do not really agree with me. Sometimes I get confused if people can ever be satisfied. I was told Ado-Ilawe-Igbara-odo road has been reconstructed. I can have a jolly good ride to my hometown.

ComputersRe: Inye: Made In Nigeria Tablet PC- How Far Can it Go? by kolexy(m): 9:14pm On Jul 23, 2012
blink182: Na wa o, e be like say I go hold N1m enter china, buy unbranded tablets and name them 'tatafo' make BBC show me for TV.

This is so uninspiring, people have been doing this with other consumer electronics na, difference is that they want it to sell fast, so they brand it, LG, Samsung, and the rest. This guy names his inye and he's trying to look special. Is the tablet not on android? What is he talking about software development as if he is one bill gates-even bill gates is not original.

Boys at alaba will simply hear this story and laugh because they are doing same and definitely making sales that this inye can't even dream off. And who told him his tablet is low cost? Has he heard of the Indian low cost tab.
It will interest you to know that Samsung, and other asian tablet makers also run on google android. The guy has not claimed to be an inventor, but an entrepreneur.
PoliticsRe: Death Of Makoko Chief (Timothy Agbe): Fashola To Blame - Femi Falana by kolexy(m): 4:35pm On Jul 23, 2012
mikeapollo: This is what you get when people are ignorant, shallow thinking and praise medicocrity!

The shores/coastal lines in Nigeria are under the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority. No court order was obtained to evict the people. No alternative(s) or compensation was provided. And you sent police armed with live ammunition to go carry out an illegal action of eviciting people from a place they have been living for over 20 years. Now the people sleep in their canoes, day, night, in the sun and in the rain!
The person(governor) who sent them is to be held responsible. Fashola is a dictator and is responsbible for the deaths of some people. And he has been doing all these things against the poor people'

Check the records:
1.Demolition of poor peoples houses under the guise of road constrcution/physical development(but he did not destroy Civic Centre opposite Law School.Infact the road construction there was compromised in order to leave the building untouched because the building belongs to a very rich man
2. LASU school fees hike, and using police to suppress the students
3.Yaba Market fraud....taking over shops/stalls from poor market women and selling them to rich people
4.Lekki toll gates imposition....and using police to suppress the protests
5. Sack of 800 doctors...and using the police to disperse them forcefully from their meeting venue
7. Demolishing poor people's house at Makoko..and using police to suppress protesters.
8. Arrest, harrassment and detention without trial of poor youn boys/girls hustling to seel gala, pure water etc by the road side to survive, while criminal agbero/touts are left untouched

Fashola is the worst anti-poor people governor in the democratic history of Lagos. He wants to take that shore line and sell it to the rich.He has not done anything that benefits the poor. The projects he claims to be doing are all located in elitist areas. Nothing in Agege, Alimosho, Ikorodu areas etc where the bulk of the masses live. Only sinking boreholes and generators to water flowers/street lights. No single low cost housing estates that low income earners than rent/buy. No single new market has been built for poor women to earn a living from. Even Tinubu with all the misconceptions some people have about him, did all these things for the poor people in the grass roots. Even built more schools. How many schools has Fashola built?

When a governore wakes up in day to tell the whole world that he has sacked the whole 800 medical doctors in the state(many of whome had started practice before he became governor) and goes ahead to call them 'irresponsible' and vows not to recall them until a higher power (god-father) intervened, then we definitely have a dictator in our midst as governor!

Yet this is the person some people call 'best governor'! We must be in serious trouble as a nation.

We will continue to have bad governance with impunity in Nigeria because we have so many shallow thinking and ignorant people/followers who worship and praise mediocrity.

May God grant the soul of the poor man (this will never happen to a rich man in Ikoyi/VI e.g Civic Centre owner) rest in peace.

It is definitely a crime to be a poor man under Fashola's Lagos Govt!
Eh yah! Why don't you go back to your village.
I hope you are aware of the internally generated revenue of Lagos State.I can tell you that in relative terms, Fashola is not performing well in Lagos State. If some other low income State Governors can manage the huge resources that accrue to Lagos State on monthly basis, you will never mention Fashola's name when it comes to performance. Its obvious many of us don't take cognizance of income disparity among the 36 States of the Federation before drawing conclusions on who is the best Governor. Aside from the fact that Lagos State Internally generated revenue is higher than that of Imo State, kindly look at the monthly Federal allocation that goes to each state on monthly basis with particular reference to Imo and Lagos States and get back to me asap.
The IGR Lagos generates every month, is nothing compared with what Rivers, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom states get as 13% derivation. Apart from Akpabio, Ameachi, and Bayelsa governor are both failure. The Ameachi guy, is just one empty loud mouth.

Mandelaguy: Brazilian President to lead delegation of businessmen to Nigeria

Ben Agande, Abuja

Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff is to lead a delegation of businessmen from the Latin American country to explore areas of investment in Nigeria in order to  boost economic and trade relations between both countries.

The visit which is on the invitation of President Jonathan is to seek Brazilian expertise in the areas of mechanized agriculture,  power generation and other sectors that Brazil has comparative advantage over Nigeria.

President Jonathan who extended the invitation at a bilateral meeting with the Brazilian President  during the ongoing United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, noted that greater economic and developmental cooperation would be in the mutual interest of Nigeria and Brazil.

According to him,  Nigeria will welcome increased Brazilian support and cooperation for the development of mechanized agriculture, power generation and other sectors in which Brazilians are globally acknowledged experts.

President Jonathan also called for the revitalization of the Africa-South American Cooperation Forum which was jointly initiated by Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the former President of Brazil, Mr. Lula Da Silva as a platform for the promotion of economic and political cooperation between the two countries and continents.

Accepting President Jonathan’s invitation to visit Nigeria, President Rousseff said that she will come with Brazilian investors and businessmen with expertise in many fields to give them an opportunity to meet their Nigerian counterparts with a view to establishing profitable joint ventures.

She assured President Jonathan that Brazil, currently the world’s sixth largest economy, would be glad to deploy the skills and expertise which its people have acquired in many fields, including engineering, construction, technology, public infrastructure, hydro-power generation and large scale mechanised agriculture for economic growth and development in Nigeria.
