They take us for a ride cos they believe we won't do anything. Make good your grieviances by complaining to them directly and ask for compensation like I have done and campaign against the treatment through all available fora. In case they choose not bulge , port like I will soon. As for dstv I have called and told them to stop using my airtime to dispence unsolicited adverts when I call customer care. I did not fail to let them know ill dump Their decoder if another service provider came along with better customer care. Speak up. Be heard. |
@ norm 544.....it's like you work there. |
I grew up in Nigeria and of Nigerian parentage but had a father that spoke impeccable English language and Latin in tow. We listened to only bbc radio and frcn watching television for less than 8 hours a week. He thought us how to read before our classmates in the public schools we attended learnt how to get through simple words. The result is a good grasp of the English language without the noticeable Nigerian accent. I must point out though that it is difficult not to have an accent if the English language was not the first you learnt how to speak. I only learnt the other Nigeria language i can speak now as i grew up. I say all to say it's not the accent that is really the problem, the grammar most times, with terrible accent imitations would send one rolling on the floor with laughter. Just thinking. |
@slyr0x.....you got it wrong many times over. On being corrected that he did elect elect at the university i could be wrong but that's Bisade Ologunde....lagbaja. Op on point. |
That's Bisade Ologunde aka lagbaja. Knew him back in the days at bread and butter and later pintos night club leading the band called colours. He is a soft spoken and i dare say very intelligent fellow who graduated from oau or ibadan with a degree in zoology. He should be in the 50 year region. All that said it's good he used the lagbaja concept to deliver his music. You and i may not have accepted him if we could put a face to it. He is a fantastic bass guitar player in case we don't know. The closest i came to him was at his house then on adeniyi Jones where i went to pick up some stuff. He is an extremely shrewd business man who doesn't suffer fools. |
If you ask me both Reuben and lai are paid propagandists....who of them is a greater liar?..Abati...by a mile. |
Did i see gmail and yahoo addresses there. Would a dedicated host not have been better than public domains. Would it not have been better to have toll free call lines. Just thinking aloud. |
We have a problem on our hands. We have a president that doesn't give a damn is insensitive and does not understand the import of the signals he is sending. Just the other day he said no amnesty for bh members.....we are all still trying to recover from the shock of the slap on the wrist plea bargain for yusuf broo haha then he grants a man that should still be behind bars a presidential pardon . No one should give me that it is his prerogative hogwash. Gej is the worst ever. |
@slimimg...you obviously no nothing about MS. I do not think its preventable. Check out the story of Steve hawkin. |
The reason why i and maybe someother s may not jump up in excite ment is that the power situation from my experience is worse. No one should try and give me the transformer in your area bla bla bla story....i live in an estate with dedicated transformers. Where? Abuja. So let's stop celebrating mediocrity. |
At this point all that mattered seem not so important again. Mortality becomes real. C'est la vie. |
Bottom line. our experience of steady power is still a pipe dream. Why? Cluelessness. |
The tragedy of it all is that the land was proposed to house a cancer centre by Turai Yaradua. The fct minister being a clown an imcompetent one for that matter has proposed that such amount should be spent for the first ladies project trying kiss gej's feet to help him become bauchi state governor. That is the tragedy of cluelessnes in the face of scatse foriegn exchange being used up for medical tourism. |
@fitty...no need making accusations you can not substantiate besides I am of the personal view that a person's intimate orientation is his or her personal matter. I may disapprove of the lifestyle but that does not place me or any one except, God, on the pedestal of judgement. Bigotry is quite often not recognised in oneself especially when it has been allowed to live under the skin. That is so obvious on this thread. |
Let's get it straight....BON could have done its homework by starting early to package the marketing of the tournament which I'm sure would have raised the money to pay for the TV rights. The deal was to try and get govt to pay...then the TV stations will now collect advert fees to their gain only. Its a known gimmick. They only remembered TV rights had to be paid few weeks to the competition ? Its a nigerian thing...they wanted to stampeed the govt to paying....bon I mean...it just didn't work out this time around. |
Okay...gej is doing so much to fight corruption and his atorney general does not know what to do with farouk lawan's case file 5 months on. Seriously must you 40 laptop guys try to rub this Poo. In our face.........please. |
The local tv stations are hiding behind bon instead of articulating a plan to harness the huge market that Nigerian firms want to reach pay the broadcast right and make a profit they are waiting for govt to pay.....tv rights issue did not start yesterday but as you know some people would have benefited from this fire brigade style...forget about the calling of any bluff the minister, bon and tv stations were just simply inept...NEXT. |
Football 101 with one man down you have a one goal lead you shut down the game 10 mins to the end. Defend and run down the clock. If it was any of the north african teams you would have seen them give a lesSon on this kind of tactic. For national team players not to know this basic means we have not started. |
Interesting. Many years ago a certain prof opia, husband to Ruth benamasia of the nta fame was declared wanted for fraud .....saw him the other day a free man. He went into hiding and I'm sure having gotten a few people settled has resurfased a free man....efcc should tell us the progress made in the appeal of Lucky igbinedions case. 2nd bass pls. |
Can a confirmation be made pls. Thank you. |
Ocelot2006 he should not have run to become president then. Guys you mean you have not recognised this trick.....this time next year when the promise is not met they would have had enough time to manufacture the excuses.....second bass jare.. |
@OMO tier1 .....you seem to be the expert on this one.....I don't claim any great knowledge on this one ..was thinking aloud. |
I would have thought the result of crash investigation should have come out first before they are allowed to take to the skies again. What if the report indicated culpability on the part of Dana management or need for remedial measures to be put in place or or ....I dont just get it. As for the celebrities who did nothing legally wrong to have allowed their notoriety to be used and ofcourse paid for the publicity stunt I hope they won't feel bad if they lost a loved one in such circunstances and other go the way they have chosen to go...just thinking. On the other hand as a loved school song goes....SERVICE TO THE LIVING HONOUR TO THE DEAD. |
What's the problem with ride waranting an intention to sell. |
@anonimi.....you're up against the wrong wall. |
The fact that individuals have gone to jail and corporations have paid hefty fines for bribing Nigerians and gej has done nada is really an attitudinal problem. The one who has this problem is the spineless leader that has been looking the other way...gej himself. PERIOD. |
For the paid foot soldiers of gej telling us that Jonathan did not create Nigeria's problems its a no brainer. I also did not create nigeria's problems but I did not run for president cos if I did it means I take responcibility for getting those problems solved. NEXT. |
When it came to light that ibori used Delta state investments as colateral for loans to his personal firm I carefully watched as uduaghan went mute. Then he had the audacity to ask that the $15m bribe ibori tried to give ribadu should be returned to delta state I began to wonder if this gov is serious at all.then the insult was that N50m is being released to ibori as pention after looting the state treasury then I asked myself this guy can't be seriuos. |
There was no genuine intention to do a clean out. NEITI has been shouting itself hoarse for the last couple of years about what was happening in the NNPC but the same Govt that funds it and knows the NEITI is backed by a law just collect the reports, smile, say welldone give a speech and turn the other way. The rot is so deep rooted. NEITI has been using independent auditors and the likes and has been presenting its report to the Govt but NADA.....they do not want any change in the system. Okukpe and co can say what they like....they have been bleeping us all these years.....on our time and our money......we have been enjoying it....if we didnt we would have revolted against the bleeping. Abeg second bass jooooo |
The cameroonians gave warning that they will open up the dams if the rains continued. the meterological dept had warned as far back as march this year that floods were expected....even gej admitted that the ministry of environment had warned the govt....some of the govs were also informed of impending flood...but you and i know better they dont care about the people they swore to protect and defend....just their pockets. gej even had the audacity to travel to the un when the floods were raging only to come aroung now reading speeches and paying vissits. what did he do when the info got to him....nothing....i beg second bass joooor |
As we rumble in our minds with disgust over this matter a greater matter which has led to this state of affairs remains. When the citizens of a country have lost all trust for the law and order system this is what happens. When the law makers are the breakers when the enforcers look the other while crime is being committed this is what you get. If the country had a value system whereby it is a known fact that if you commit a crime you will be prosecuted and face the music squarely then the mob wouldnt have lynched these innocent souls to death. They would have handed them to the police to investigate, prosecute and let the courts jail or acquit them as fit. Alas no....they might have thought that if these boys were actually guilty they do not trust the justice system to prevail and so jungle justice. I hear they are still waiting for legal advise from Adoke concerning Otedola and Farook....3 months after. What of the appeal of the judgement against Lucky Igbinedion....the guy had the exact amount awarded against him in the plea bargain in the boot of his car. Infact the prosecution and defence teams arrived together in a chatter plane for that case...I laugh.Need I remind us of more. The people have lost hope in the system that is supposed to enunciate and guard such sacred values for the society on which they can trust cos it works. This is what you get. |
@nagoma....thought i was the only one thinking in this direction. |
? Its a nigerian thing...they wanted to stampeed the govt to paying....bon I mean...it just didn't work out this time around.
