Celebrities › Re: Why I Ended Up In The Village – Miss Nigeria 1963, Alice Alache Adepe by Konquest: 6:38pm On Jan 25, 2024

Miss Alache, Miss Nigeria 1963, has lamented that her state, Benue, failed to celebrate her despite making her proud.

Alache broke the jinx as the first woman from the then Benue-Plateau to win the highly coveted crown.

Against the backdrop of fame, Mama Alice’s life took an unexpected turn, leading her to the tranquil hamlet of Otukpo Icho in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Sixty years after her historic victory, she graciously shares her poignant story exclusively with Idoma Television.

We are aware that you were crowned Miss Nigeria in 1963. You are from this town (Otukpo). Today, our team from Idoma Voice thought it wise to come pay you a visit and have a chat with you. Could you please tell us more about yourself?

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your team for coming all the way to visit me. Thank you very much.

I was crowned Miss Kano before becoming Miss Nigeria in the same year – 1963.

After my victory in Kano, I was taken to Lagos for the Miss Nigeria contest. Then, it was Daily Times (Newspaper) that was sponsoring the beauty contest.

During the contest, it was Benue-Plateau. It was a friend of mine that encouraged me to join the contest.

An Igbo lady called Chinyere. When they arranged the contest in Kano, she met me and said we should join the contest.

I told her I was not interested because, in my place, the moment you begin to showcase yourself, people will be saying negative things about you.

Above all, my father was hot-tempered, so I was scared, but she insisted.
I told her what would happen if we didn’t win; she pointedly said if I didn’t win, she would win. So I reluctantly joined the Miss Kano beauty contest, and I won.

Those of us that put in for the competition in Lagos were from 19 states. I am not the first Miss Nigeria; the first Miss Nigeria was Theresa Ogunbiyi from the southwest.

It was 7up Company that the competition took place, and I emerged victorious.

But unfortunately for my friend (Chinyere), she didn’t win.

So, after my victory, the Woman Editor of Daily Times, who was in charge, Theresa Ogunbiyi, took us to London. We were on a tour of London for about two weeks before we returned home.

After my trip to London, I returned to Kano to continue with my business until my mum died.

This place I am occupying is not my father’s house. My family house is somewhere down the hills.

After my mother died, as the most senior daughter, I came here to do the necessary rites. This is my mother’s house.

And I have been staying here ever since.

You said it was your friend that encouraged you to join the beauty contest; did you buy any registration forms then?

Not at all, during our time, it was not about money or education. All they wanted was charisma and beauty.

What inspired you to go into the contest?

It was because my friend encouraged that we should go that either of us must win. The contest then, how was it like? Like? What did you people do then?

Nothing special; after my emergence as Miss Kano, we were taken to Lagos and we were camped in a hotel – 19 of us from various states. It wasn’t all about money or connections.

It was based on merit. We spent about three weeks before the day of the competition.

Apart from the London trip, what were the other benefits?
Various companies gave us many things. Items like a sewing machine, cartons of noodles, and several other things.

After winning the competition, did you put it for other contests like Miss World?

Not at all. I didn’t go anywhere after that. Why?

Because they take anybody to Miss World; even those that won before me didn’t go for Miss World.

You said it was after your mother’s death that you relocated to this village.

Yes, so that the house won’t be empty.

So, from 1963 after your victory till now, do you have any regrets?

Not really.

The only regret is that I had thought that after my victory, my state government would have remembered me, but they abandoned me. That is my only regret.

But I thank God that I am still alive. I am sure you were not even born when I won the crown.

So, you were born after that, and you have now known me. So, I have no regrets apart from the fact that my own state has forgotten me.

Do you have any advice for young ladies going into beauty contests?

Yes, I have things to tell them, but none of them come to me.

I think in Benue as a whole, it was Ene Lawani who became the second person from Benue to win Miss Nigeria.

But despite that, I still thank God for sparing my life and you people have remembered to come celebrate me. I am grateful.
Life is cyclical in nature. We are all actors and spectators in the grand scheme of things.

The Lagos State Government has ordered the immediate closure of Lekki Conservation Centre (LCC).

This comes after a visitor took to social media to raise alarm about the state of the canopy walkway at the facility.

The State Government also ordered immediate and extensive repairs on affected areas.

Director-General of Lagos State Safety Commission, Lanre Omojola, who led a team on a visit to the Centre, said that the safety of Lagos residents remained the highest priority of the state government at all times.
That was a highly observant move from the dude who made the video. There was indeed a detachment of the metallic joint in the canopy bridge.

The Story of Giannis Adetokunbo

By: Deji Yesufu

In April 1999, Nigeria had elected Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as its first civilian President after some 13 years of uninterrupted military rule (1983-1999). Pastor Tunde Bakare however casted an ominous cloud on the whole event, that had seen a Yoruba elected as President of Nigeria. Bakare said, in a prophecy, that God’s judgement was going to fall on Obasanjo and that he would not be installed President that year. Despite having rejected Obasanjo at the polls, the Yoruba nation had quickly owned Obasanjo and was a little uncomfortable with Tunde Bakare’s prophecy. One night, riot broke out in the Ogba area of Lagos, where Bakare’s church used to be located, as people began to hunt for the pastor’s head. Tunde Bakare told us some years later, while I visited his church that he escaped from that scene by the whiskers – hidden in a get-away-vehicle. I remember that night very well because it was the night I was returning to Zaria, after my botched interview at the United States’ Embassy in Victoria Island, Lagos. I was travelling back to Northern Nigeria in one of those large buses that travel late in the night. The person seated next to me on that trip was a young man in his mid-twenties. We talked a little. He told me he was going to North Africa to play football. His hope was that he would also be able to cross-over to Europe with time. When I disembarked in Zaria, he proceeded unto Kano and then to his preferred destination. I never forgot the experience with that guy because our bus was delayed for hours at the Ojota area of Lagos because the Tunde Bakare generated riot had caused traffic all over Lagos mainland.

Stephen Keshi is said to be the person who opened up oversea trips for Nigerian footballers in Europe. Keshi had plied his trade in various clubs in Europe including RSC Anderlecht in Belgium, where he won the Belgian League Championship in 1991. Keshi’s career spanned a period of 12 years in Europe (1986 – 1998) and he used his position in the national team to secure clubs for promising Nigerian footballers in Europe. By the early 1990s, the quest to go to Europe and “play professional” football became the dream of any gifted footballer in Nigeria.

In 1991, a young couple arrived the nation of Greece in Europe. Their names were: Charles and Veronic Adetokunbo. Charles was hoping to secure trials with a football club in Greece. It is not likely that that opportunity fell through and it was obvious to the couple that returning to Nigeria was not a practical thing either. They decided to slug it out in the nation of Greece. The couple had had a son called Francis while they were in Nigeria but they left that child with their parent in Lagos and headed to Europe. Francis would eventually join his parent in Greece. Charles is from south west Nigeria, while Veronica is Igbo. The couple would go on to have five children between them – all of them boys. In 1994, their third son was born and they named him Giannis Sina Ugo Adetokunbo. Giannis is obviously his Greek name.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPtPZhDTNPs

The Adetokunbo family did not find it easy in Greece. Unlike the United States, where children of other nationals born in the country are immediately given American citizenship, the Adetokunbo children were not given this privilege. In fact they did not acquire Greek citizenship until 2013. The father of the house, Charles, was a heavily built athlete of a man, but he could only get jobs as a handyman on the streets of Anthens. Veronica worked as a baby sitter for Greek families that needed their help. They did not have work permits and thus worked only menial jobs to provide for their five children. But the Adetokunbo boys were exceptional. From an early age, and when they had free time from school, they would go to the streets and hawk watches, handbags, sunglasses and other wares. They lived in a poor neighborhood in Sepolia in the ancient city of Athens.

Like their father, the Adetokunbo boys loved to play football. So, when they had opportunity, they would play the round leather game around their neighborhood. When Giannis was seven years old, someone suggested to him and his brothers that rather than play football, they could take advantage of their gangling frame and height to play basketball. Giannis and his brothers soon began to play basketball in their neighborhood and their gifts were quickly recognized by their coaches. In fact, so that the boys could have more time to train and play the game for their respective teams, the team management ensured that Charles and Veronica were given work permit and thus could get better jobs and then earn more to provide for their families. The boys were taken off the streets of Athens and committed their times to their education and basketball. The most promising of the brothers was, of course, Giannis Adetokunbo.

In 2011, at age 17, Giannis began to play for a 3rd division team in the Greek basketball league. His gifts were quickly noticed and thus he was approached by a first division Spanish basketball club and signed a 4 year deal with them. That contract had a potential NBA buy-out clause in it. He had barely concluded two seasons with this club when the NBA approached him. In the 2013/14 season of the NBA, at age 19, Giannis was selected as a relatively unknown 15th draft for the Milwaukee Bucks. Interestingly it was this year that his family was granted full citizenship by the government of Greece. Greece obviously recognized the potential of the young man and quickly latched onto him. Another thing that happened in 2013, as Giannis was moving to the NBA, was that his name on his Greek passport was changed from “Adetokunbo” – which reflects clearly his Nigerian roots – to “Antetokounmpo”. This is the name he brought to the United States and unfortunately it is the name that his family bears today. In protest, however, I would not be using this imposed nomenclature on this true son of Nigeria; I would however be calling him his true name: Giannis Sina Ugo Adetokunbo, in this essay.

Giannis’ entry into the NBA was not a particularly smooth one. He would not come into recognition until 2017 when he won the NBA most improved player, although he had played in the second team of the rookie games of 2014. From 2017 on Giannis career sky-rocketed. He started to play in the all-stars games of the NBA from 2017 and has been voted into the Eastern Conference side every year ever since. In 2019, Giannis was voted into the All-NBA first team. In the same year, he was crowned the most valuable player (MVP) in the NBA. This title is about the most coveted title in the NBA and Giannis would be the third youngest player to win it at the age of 24. Other players who have been MVP are Stephen Curry (2014,15); Lebron James (2011,12), Michael Jordan (1998,1995,1992,1991,1988) and our own Hakeem Olajuwon (1994). Giannis Adetokunbo will lead the Milwaukee Bucks to the Eastern Conference finals in 2019 but lost to eventual winners - Toronto Raptors. In spite of this let down, Giannis’ contribution to his team was clearly recognized and he was awarded the MVP for that year. Giannis has been nicknamed “The Greek Freak” by commentators in the NBA because of his exceptional manner of playing and defensive work.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0USzJs9agOk&t=10s

My three brothers and I played a lot of basketball ourselves when we were growing in ABU Zaria quarters and we were very familiar with the games of Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaquil O’Neal. In recent times, however, I had lost touch with the NBA. I however posted an article to Nairaland a month ago and someone left a comment there saying that I should check out the story of Giannis Adetokunbo. I followed the link and I found this exceptional Nigerian, who in my thinking has been stolen by the nation of Greece. Because I have played basketball before, I appreciated Giannis moves as I watched numerous video clips of him on YouTube. Here are my thoughts on Giannis Adetokunbo’s manner of playing basketball: at six foot, eleven inches, Giannis is the most skillful basketballer that I know that stands at that height. In basketball, the shorter you, the better you are at dribbling the ball. So, most individuals who will wish to play basketball but are not very tall, usually take up the “guard” position. The guard is that person who runs the ball from his team side to the opponent’s side. If he is very good, he call dribble pass all the opponent and score; or pass the ball to a team mate to score, while he might have derailed the opponent. Most commentators say that Giannis has no position, as he has been known to play all the five position on the basket court exceptional well. He can be guard, small and big forward, point guard, and center. At 6’11”, Giannis will take the ball from his own side, run the court through with his long strides, dribble, and then dunk the ball. In fact it appears to me that 80% of his points come through dunks. Rather than lay up the ball, Giannis will attack the rim with a dunk – both with left or right hands. I have never seen a basketballer play with such menacing ferocity. While Shaq O’ Neal was equally menacing with dunks, Shaq did not shoot the ball as well as Giannis does – nor did Shaq dribble at all. Also, besides scoring, Giannis is also known as a defensive player. His blocks are phenomenal and are dreaded by his opponents. I began to closely follow Giannis Adetokunbo’s game when he and his team mates met with the Miami Heat this year, September 2020, in the Easter Conference semi-finals. They were beaten 4-1. Giannis had injured his ankle in game 4 and he did not play at all in game 5. It is possible that if he was okay, he would have led his team to another Eastern Conference final this year and might have won the championship.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxvA3ZEsrU8

Giannis Adetokunbo is very proud of his Nigerian roots, although he has not visited Nigeria yet. In fact, in 2015 he obtained his Nigerian passport with the hope of visiting the country soon. When he was asked about how he feels when people call him “the Greek Freak”, Giannis made the point that his roots are Nigerian, although he does not mind being identified with Greece. He said: “… It does not matter what people may think of me because of my nickname ‘Greek Freak’. There were a lot of times when I was in Greece when people said ‘you are not Greek. You are Nigerian because you are black’. But then there has been a lot more times when it has been the opposite, where people say ‘You are not African. You are Greek. You are the Greek Freak’. But I don’t care about that. Deep down, I know who I am and where I am from. That is all that matters to me.”

Giannis Adetokubo wears the number 34. I suspect that he wears this number in honor of the greatest Nigerian basketballer in the history of the NBA: Hakeem Olajuwon. Olajuwon wore the number 34 throughout his playing career with the Houston Rockets. Hakeem himself made it clear that Giannis’ surname was not “Antetokounmpo” but rather “Adetokunbo”. He said that the name is a typical South Western Nigerian name that means “… the crown has returned from overseas…” It is clear that whenever Giannis will visit Nigeria, he would be returning as a king that has made his mark in society via a dint of hard work and skill. Giannis says he does not speak any Nigerian language but since his mother spoke Igbo to his brothers and him, they all can speak a little Igbo. At the least, he can count the numbers in Igbo but does not speak the language fluently. Charles, Giannis father, died of a heart attack in 2017. He was only 54. While delivering his acceptance speech at the NBA awards last year, after being crowned MVP, Giannis spoke glowingly about his father and credits his success his parents. He was weeping profusely while speaking. Giannis is said to be a devout Christian, having been raised in the Greek Orthodox Church. Giannis four brother’s all play professional basket-ball. In fact Francis, their oldest brother, has played for the Nigerian national team in 2015.

A few days ago, after his team the Milwaukee Bucks crashed out of the NBA championship, Giannis unfollowed all his team mates on Instagram; he also unfollowed the team. Rumors are making the rounds that he has plans to leave the Milwaukee Bucks and join another team with greater prospect of winning the NBA –which is the dream of every basketballer in the world. Giannis signed a $100 million contract with the bucks in 2017 and still has one year in contract with them but there are all likelihood he would leave. Giannis has been the sole powerhouse in the bucks team and the over reliance on him might be at the root of his recent injuries. He would be hoping to join a team that can compete for the title in the future. Whatever his decisions are, the whole Nigerian nation are behind him and are hoping that he succeeds in his endeavors.

There are hundreds of Nigerians outside the shores of this country doing great things. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce one of them to you: Giannis Sina Ugo ADETOKUNBO.

I dedicate this story to my brothers: Adetoro, Adebowale, and Adeoye. I pray God to bless our hustle in this country and grant the desires of our late mother to make it in this life – within or without Nigeria. By the way, my brothers were the greatest basketball players in their time. God bless you guys.

There's less danger of pooling water: On high-slope rooftops, gravity makes short work of any moisture—as the roof quickly channels the water down into gutters. The lower the slope, the longer moisture lingers on the rooftop where it degrades materials and turns weak spots into leaks.

The U.S. military has ended an "exhaustive" 10-day search and rescue mission for two Navy SEALs who went missing on Jan. 11 in the waters of the Gulf of Aden and are now presumed deceased, according to a new statement from U.S. Central Command.

The military is conducting recovery operations for the service members, CENTCOM said Sunday night.

"We mourn the loss of our two Naval Special Warfare warriors, and we will forever honor their sacrifice and example. Our prayers are with the SEALs' families, friends, the U.S. Navy, and the entire Special Operations community during this time," Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, CENTCOM's commander, said in the statement.

Military officials said that the U.S., Japan and Spain used air and naval resources and "searched more than 21,000 square miles" for the missing SEALs, scouring the gulf off the coast of Somalia -- to no avail.

"Out of respect for the families, no further information will be released at this time," CENTCOM said.

The two SEALs went into water in mid-January during a nighttime boarding mission to interdict a dhow suspected of carrying Iranian-made weapons for Houthi militants in Yemen, military officials have said.

Dhows are small fishing or cargo vessels that are sometimes used by Iran to smuggle weapons.

As a small Navy craft approached the dhow on Jan. 11, one of the SEALs fell into rough waters and, following protocol, a second SEAL dove into the water in a rescue attempt, according to officials.

The rest of the SEALs continued with the mission on the dhow and seized Iranian-made ballistic and cruise missile parts and warheads similar to those being used by the Houthis in more than 30 attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, officials said.

The Houthis have said their attacks are in response to Israel's bombardment of Gaza as the Israelis target Hamas fighters as retaliation for Hamas' Oct. 7 terror attack.

On Jan. 12, 2024, an initial search of the dhow revealed suspicious material throughout the holds.

For years, the U.S. Navy has intercepted dhows in the Gulf of Aden that are suspected of carrying Iranian-made weapons to the Houthis.

During these missions, boarding teams typically pull aside the dhows in small water craft to undertake a "flag verification" mission if the dhow is unflagged or has replaced its flag to mask its smuggling.

The seizure involving the SEALs was the first since the Houthis began their strikes, most of which have been repelled by U.S., French and British warships.

The SEALs were operating from the USS Lewis B Puller, an expeditionary sea base and converted freighter topped with landing decks for helicopters and capable of releasing small watercraft.

"In the wintertime, the sea state is typically 8-12 feet," said Eric Oehlerich, an ABC News contributor and retired SEAL commander. "The horizon is flat, so 8-12 feet is 8 feet above the flat horizon -- and then eight feet, it's like a 16 foot wave."

A dhow was identified, Jan. 10, 2024, and an assessment was made that the dhow was in the process of smuggling.

According to Oehlerich, those high-water conditions increase the risk to nighttime ship boardings, which are carried out in pitch-black darkness.

He described it as one of the most difficult missions that a SEAL can undertake, requiring constant training.

"You have the risk of your boat capsizing in close proximity to larger vessels, you have to establish a solid ladder point, you have to climb a ladder at night over the open ocean between two ships -- they're smashing into each other -- and then get on board," he said.

"And then your problem starts with what you're going to do ... with whomever is on board that boat," he added.

The Jan. 11 seizure also marked the first time since November 2019 that the U.S. Navy has taken Iranian-made ballistic missile and cruise missile components believed to be headed for the Houthis.

The military said the 14 mariners aboard the dhow were taken off the vessel and are in U.S. custody, though their future status remains to be determined.

After they were taken off the dhow, the vessel was deemed unsafe and sunk by naval forces.

MORAL LESSON OF AVOIDING NEWS TRADING - HAPPENS ON 11 JAN 2024

CPI dissapoints, bullish expectation will likely be muted for some few days.

Trading the news can make you lose your gain of one month in just one day. Thus, we can see what we will gain by just avoiding a big one day loss. For me personally the need to get out of the market before the big news is sinking into my consciousness little by little.
Indeed, news trades can be brutal... Leading the unitiated into losing their shirts. grin

GLOBAL MARKET STILL HOLD THE ACE NIGERIA RISING STOCK PRICES LACK LONG TERM FUNDAMENTALS

Our twitter page shows some funny solutions by the Government to solve problem of inflation and lack of foreign investors. The proposed solutions are funny and is showing us that we have people who have questionable academic qualifications (did they truly study to get their degrees?) .
Insights.

Okay, let us take problem of inflation as an example. We all knows the secondary school definition of inflation, too much money chasing fewer goods. Our Government solution ( is funny but that is what our Government has done) :reduce the access to cash for basic spending by the general public, by the time the general public do not have money in their pocket inflation will go (make cash unavailable, if people want to withdraw 100k,banks to give 10k,banks should not load money in ATM so that the public will have virtually no access to Cash). Result: inflation stays.

A better solution like what the US and Co has done, reduce Government spending, Open market operations etc. But the Government has failed to curtail the public sector spending (so maybe our policy makers only remember the definition of inflation that they learnt in secondary school " too much money chasing fewer goods"wink, as the real solution which maybe is learnt at higher level is not remembered, so we should ask ourselves, can we trust that these people realy study basic economics for their various degrees?

We will look at the solution for attraction of foreign investors soon. You know they knew MSCI left Nigeria and they think MSCI is looking for Countries with booming stock market without considering risk? We in this forum and NSEMPA knows that MSCI people are pure professionals in their game and cannot be attracted by gimmicks, government give their cronies money to buy stocks from the market (do not be suprise if some of these Beta Edu/ palative money & Co were diverted through private pockets to pump us the stock market!!!).

Conclusion, we will only buy stocks with good fundamentals in the Nigeria market and we are thinking short term. Main action remains here, especially if we are interested in profiting from the Energy sector

Today, in global stock we are relaxing we know risk is fairly elevated, will take profit if necessary, real season for more aggressive investing will start tommorrow after the CPI report. We are looking to play on the bullish side as we know rate cut is real for the US.

THE NIGERIA MARKET IS BOOMING
I am sure by now "shoemakers will be thinking of putting money in the Nigeria market". Market has risen to the level where professionals will be buying with care. So, if you are buying Nigeria stock, have a short time horizon in focus.

For me, for the fairly long term, global stocks are still the best. I will be buying Nigeria stocks from time to time, but not at this highly extreme prices. I will buy more on retracement

Goodluck to everybody.

Greetings all. I work in Nigeria but earn in dollars. I have always been reluctant to invest in stocks, as my dollar-denominated salary has significantly hedged me against the constant slide of the Naira. Lately, the thought of diversifying into stocks has been recurring. Will buying stocks be as profitable compared to saving in dollars? I am in for the long run (5 to 10 years). Kindly advise. Thanks.
Yes... USD-denominated financial assets are fine.

casualobserver:
the man died in 2017, Giannis was already an adult of 22yrs so stop trying to redefine the narrative as you people always do. the video clearly states that this was when they were kids.
I want to come in here.

To be brutally honest, Charles Adetokunbo shouldn't have even accepted his children adopting the bastardized family name Antetokoumpo instead of Adetokunbo when the Greek passport folks made that misspelling error. That Antetokoumpo error ought to have been corrected long ago! That name "Antetokoumpo" is a very BIG insult to Yorubas and Africans (because even that name has NO meaning in the Greek language and many Greeks who were interviewed in the media don't know the meaning). African names have meanings. Many Nigerians and Africans in the Diaspora proudly rock their Yoruba, Asanti, or Swahili names, so it is sacrilegious to adopt a meaningless name in place of the original Adetokunbo family name.

The name Adetokunbo is a prestigious Yoruba name meaning "A crown brought from across the ocean (or sea)." It is the duty of every father to provide guidance or direction for his family and the mothers too should complement their spouses in a multicultural marriage setting. My BIGGEST wish would be for Thanasis, Giannis, and their two younger brothers living in the U.S. to officially REVERT back to the use of the original family name ADETOKUNBO.

In any event, I'm glad that Charles Adetokunbo who hailed from Abeokuta but lived in Lagos State with his wife and first son, Francis Adetokunbo before their 1991 migration to Greece met and interacted well with the basketball legend Hakeem "the Dream" Olajuwon who played for the Houston Rockets, in Texas, and was also the 1994 NBA, MVP just like Giannis became the 3rd ever person in NBA history to win an MVP. Hakeem Olajuwon interacts and trains with Giannis and the rest of his brothers. So, it is hoped that he would learn more about his father's Yoruba folks who number over 55 million people in Africa from Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, and Ivory Coast, with a large Diaspora population of Yorubas in the U.S., UK, Canada, France, Belgium, etc.

Indeed, Giannis has a Yoruba father and an Ibo-speaking mother from the North of Delta State, so he has to gravitate towards both sides and Giannis' mother will do well to introduce her children to her late husband's family so that Giannis and his siblings would get to know their uncles, aunts, and cousins on their father's side of the family.

Last but not least, it wasn't a good PR for her and the family to take the 29-year-old Giannis 'Sina Ugo Adetokunbo to see only her own side of the family in Lagos without connecting with the paternal side. From here on out, there should be all-inclusiveness in embrassing cultural values from both sides of the family tree by the Adetokunbos.

Good day,

We have Black soldier fly (BSF) larvae frass, aka manure, called NatSoil available for sale. It’s an excellent organic fertilizer with chitin that deters pest and thus acts as a natural pesticide. It has no odor and contains all the vital nutrients for plants (see attached analysis for dried variant).

Please contact me on WhatsApp 08176499981 or on sales@magprotein.ng . Our factory is based in Epe.

Price is N5 per kg. Minimum order 2tons. Pick up from Epe.

Description and use.

Our product NatSoil is a 100% organic fertilizer and soil amendment that acts primarily as a rich soil conditioner and pesticide. It is derived locally from the digestate of the black soldier fly larvae. It is rich in essential nutrients such as;
• Nitrogen: 31.5g/Kg
• Phosphorus: 7.9g/Kg
• Potassium: 3.41 g/Kg

Made from insect exoskeletons and excrement, NatSoil is full of beneficial microbial life and chitin – the substance that sets NatSoil apart from other fertilizers. Chitin stimulates the plant's defence response leading to increased resistance to pests and disease, replenished microbe populations and boosted yields at harvest.
NatSoil also has “chitosan”, when applied foliarly, will protect plants from powdery mildew, and botrytis and other fungal disease. In summary, NatSoil is a natural fertilizer and has the following benefits for plants and crops:
o Promotes early plant growth and seed inoculant
o Beneficial microbes for plant growth and production
o Improved growth compared to competing products
o Low C/N ratio that promotes rapid mineralization and faster nutrient release
o 1 to 2% addition rate into soils and potting mixes
o Water soluble and can be used in hydroponics and fertigation
