It was exciting really. Before I boarded, some immigration officers wanted to play smart, thank God, I had all my docs with me. After entering the plane, I couldn't locate my seat, lol. I later did sha. When I arrived at my destination (a country in Europe), I was flabbergasted by the high number of white people around me. Shuo, no be small thing oh. The place was cold, beautiful and colorful all at the same time. It was like a dream. Totally different from Naija. But now I don't notice the difference anymore.

If you have the money, during semester break you could apply for any country visa you want that have embassy here in T&t....Student visa gives you more opportunity to get low flight ticket and also transit visa for Italy ,France or U.K. And transit through those countries without going through S American route(Brazil) which cost much....Getting Job here at government hospital when your done with the R-Nursing program here is easy and it comes with a lot of good benefits....and you have more opportunities to travel and work as RN in Canada or Australia which pays higher if you pass there exams....

einsteine:
Why would you have independent non-executive directors when you are running a private company? You only need them if your company is public. If you really need outside help, reach out to management consultants. It's better to spend the money you are using for hiring directors to hire new sales representatives.

In any case, most non executive directors get sitting allowances depending on what the company can afford. That's it, in a nutshell. Okomu Oil Palm wouldn't pay its directors the same allowance as NAHCO does.

Politics › Re: When Will Nigerians of Lebanese/Indian Descent Hold Political Office In Nigeria? by Konquest: 11:58am On Apr 28, 2021
ultron12345:
Few days ago, we all saw the news about a Nigerian, or rather a Canadian of Nigerian descent been appointed as a Commissioner of Justice in Nigeria. It is not rare to see Britons and Americans of Nigerian descent been elected and appointed to political positions in the UK and US, from MPs to congressmen and women.

Unknown to many, Nigeria has a sizeable population of citizens who are of foreign descent. The majority are of Lebanese and Indian descent who have being in Nigeria since before independence, many for as much as 4/5 generations. There are a few of Chinese descent too, and other nationalities from around the world. They are all legally Nigerian Citizens, with the Nigerian Passport, and therefore have all rights that other Nigerians have, including the right to vote and be voted for in Nigerian elections. They contribute greatly to the growth of the country, as can be seen from their exploits in the private sector. From my interactions with them, I would argue that most of them are even far more Nigerian than the "indigenous" Nigerians.

Can these Chinese/Lebanese/Indian Nigerians get appointed or elected into political offices in Nigeria? If yes, then when? When will we have a Chinese-Nigerian Local Government Chairman in Kano, or a Lebanese-Nigerian Minister in Abuja or an Indian-Nigerian Governor in Oyo State? How do you think Nigerians would react?
Yes!

By joining a major political
party, and being active in your
local community service.

The ability to speak Yoruba or
Hausa like many Lebanese and
Indian-Nigerians do also helps.
Yoruba is the indigenous language
of Lagos State and the 6 states of the West, most parts of Kwara, and
parts of Kogi State. In addition,

Benin Republic and the Atakpame

Hausa is a lingua franca in the

Sports › Re: My Experience Learning How To Actually Swim The First Time. by Konquest: 11:05pm On Apr 27, 2021
Blackpearlous:
This was few months ago, yea yea you can't blame me, I grew up conservative, part of the skills I acquired in my resume of being conservative was not mingling with "street" friends (no offence, I wish I grew up a lil street though, I have a polite issue) and I can't be seen wearing something skimpy which includes swim wears close to the pool too. So I was pretty much doomed to just family outings at bar beach once in a century.

I missed out in a lot of teenage fun and saved me from a lot of issues too, guess that the average life of a Nigerian church girl. The first time I went to a pool was during post UTME, it was not my kind of crowd, bunch of new friends, not my kind of music planning and I was half naked! Jesus save me!!!!!!!! And every guy was touching every girl and I didn't no how to swim, no opportunity to learn it was a crowded pool and the little chance I had was with a cute rough looking guy trying more to touch my body than teaching me to swim, I was drowning in screams in my head like,

Get out of the pool young woman
Yo mama can't see you like this
You have been defiled with the hands of a man
Somebody, shoot me (yea I'm a lil dramatic in my head).

I did run out of the pool, yea I'm free!!! For a sec because that guy followed me to the corner I wanted to change and he came to corner me, can't remember what happened but he got my message, I went Sasha fierce on him.(to the left to the left - Beyonce's voice).

So forward to few months ago, now a graduate, many post UTME after. I'm not as conservative as I was years ago but that was the second time I went to a pool again and got half naked(I basically had no social life on campus).

God it's getting long oo. No vex!(my story)

So I went with my male friend (just a friend, and also a nairalander, yea met him on nairaland from business to good friends.) and during this covid, there were just a handful of people at the pool, gave me space to learn, but I didn't really learn much from my friend, don't blame him, he learnt how to swim just by going to the pool, I had to lie flat while he lifted me with his hands and moved in the pool and me kicking my legs anyhow, thinking I am swimming when he was just literally carrying me In the water.

I was determined to learn and didn't want to hurt his feelings because there was a professional swimmer in the pool and the guy was a show off, competing with everyone and beating them.

My friend was like "what I'm teaching you is what he would teach you", when I asked if he won't mind I ask that other guy to teach me. I said in my mind Hell No! That guy can swim better, but I'm a loyal babe so I stayed with my friend and was enjoying and consoling myself at the same time.

Then God did it (don't go all righteous on me, in my story God caused the muscle pull), my friend had a very severe muscle pull, my internal smile was like sdyney talker, so he was relaxing and he allowed me ask the guy and that guy taught me and he was respectable, he didn't even touch me, I felt the guy code thing, asked my friend to come carry me at a point and I did swim well and felt the difference and left the pool with muscle pulls all over my body, Even my ears had muscle cramp.

Lemme drop some tips I learnt.
- Don't panic.
- Don't fight the water, love the water.
- Let your lungs be full so you can float.
- keep your toes pointed out.
- Stay in the shallow region.
- move your legs in opposite direction.
- Don't let your hips sink.
- swim more on your side than your tummy.
- let's you hands give you supports close to the wall while practising with your legs.
- Don't panic!
- Don't panic again.

Today is Sunday, try to see if you would get a good place to swim with family today because I'm going swimming again. Lemme know in the comment below your first experience swimming if you can actually swim.
I should probably get googles now.

Thanks.

Celebrities › Re: SINGLE PARENT: I’m Paying The Price For Being Famous —rose Odika by Konquest: 4:32pm On Apr 27, 2021
Svelteb:
Rose Odika is an actress, fashion designer and skin care therapist. In this interview with TAYO GESINDE, the deputy governor of Association of Theatre Arts, Practitioners (ANTP), Oyo State chapter, speaks on her foray into acting, her love fashion and the pains and gains of being an actress. Excerpts:

Foray into acting.
I started acting when I was in secondary school. Those days, we had French and Drama Clubs. Then, I was in French Club and we used to act drama a lot. My vice principal, Dr (Mrs) Ero called me and said she noticed that I had talent in acting and that I should face it as a career and my father never liked it. He wanted me to study Linguistics or German Language. The fact that I studied Physical Education at Alvan Ikoku College of Education, with our degree affiliated to University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), did not stop me from acting. Anytime we were on vacation, I would still come and join Drama Club. I was with Dr Bode Sobande’s Odu Team at the University of Ibadan Prince Wemimo later came along and invited me to feature in a movie, Ododo Eye, which brought me into limelight.

On fashion design.
The fashion aspect came in 20 years after my acting career. I felt there was nothing challenging again. I was already a producer, actress and script writer. So, it was no longer challenging and I was looking for something that would still challenge my talent. So, I went into fashion design five years ago, I did my training at Princess Stitches and later, I did my skin care training. It was easy for me to combine acting, fashion design and skin therapy because I have passion for them all. I am enjoying the fashion aspect, especially when it comes to costuming, putting colours and combining materials together to give me unique attire. In fact, I am finding it interesting. For instance, I will be at the Miami Fashion Week to showcase my designs on April 23, and my fashion label is Rose JB. Fashion industry is one industry that I am yet to explore fully.

Definition of style.
Style is what suits you at a particular moment. From the little I have learnt, your style can change at any time. If you say you are the type that wears gown all the time, something would always make you wear trouser. So, your style depends on your mindset and at other times, your mood determines your style. If you are happy, you want to fly colours so your mood determines the colour you wear.

Beauty regimen.
I am like this through the grace of God. I don’t have any special thing that I do but what I know is that for an average woman to be ‘clean,’ there are some certain things she needs to do. In the morning, you must make sure you cleanse your face with a cleanser that suits your face. If your skin does not like anything harsh, don’t go for astringents that are harsh. Clean your face, use normal powder, brush your teeth twice a day; morning and night. Use mouth wash and feminine wash for your private part. Always have a clean shave, wear nice lingerie. Some people are always nice outside but their inside is not usually clean. Make sure you are clean inside and outside. In fact, your night gown should speak more about you than what you wear ordinarily in the day. You must also smell nice when going to bed.

Favourite designers.
I love Funmi Ajila, H & W shirts, Marks and Spencer and Tommy. I am however, not a designer- freak so, I can wear anything.

Favourite colours.
Orange and chocolate brown.

Favourite perfumes.
Hugo Boss.

Choice of accessories.
I am a very simple person. I love beads and wire works.

Accessory I cannot do without.
My earrings. That is what determines if I am a female or not.

Most expensive item in my wardrobe.
My handbags.

What I won’t be caught dead wearing.
Mini skirt.

My hair and nails.
I do my nails a lot. I do acrylic on my nails a lot but now I want my nails to rest because it is breaking off. For my hair, I am a weavon person.

Opinion on toning.
If you are fair, you can tone because of our weather. To maintain your shining look therefore, you need to tone, but if you are black, you have no business toning.

Tattoo.
I have never done tattoo on my body because as an actress, you have dynamic roles, if you are acting the role of a village girl, you don’t have to have tattoo. One day, I was watching a movie where a village girl who was suffering had tattoo on her neck and we were like, a village girl with a tattoo? If you know what you are doing, you are not supposed to have tattoo as an actress because you can be called upon to play any role.

Cosmetic surgery.
That is a no go area for me. Those who are doing it are seeing the results, the side effects are higher. We lost an icon because of that.

Provocative dressing.
I am neutral about that. Variety is the spice of life. There are some men who love that so as ladies, if you are comfortable in it, I have no problem with it.

Greatest physical asset.
My skin and eyes.

Diet or exercise.
I diet and I do a lot of exercise by walking within the estate where I live.

Special treat.
I travel out of the country and spoil myself by doing a lot of shopping.

Advice on how to stay young and beautiful.
Live a healthy life. Most women drink a lot, when you drink, your skin will break out, and you will look 50 when you are actually 40. A woman who smokes adds 10 years to her age. If your eating habit is bad, you will gain weight and look older than your age. So watch what you eat and eat lots of fruits.

Pains and gains of being a celebrity.
The gains are more than the pains. There were times I found myself in situations that I knew if I were not a star, I won’t go scot free. When you are on the queue in the bank and you are recognised, they would say madam, step forward. It’s lovely. The negative effect is that when a guy takes you to his mother that this is the girl I want to marry the mother would say “ iyawo aye, this popular woman, you won’t enjoy her o.” That is why most actresses are not married. That is why some of us are divorced. I am a victim of that. Most men cannot cope with a celebrity wife, they get hurt when they go out with their wives and the wives are recognised while they are not. It hurts their egos. The major reason I have not remarried is that most men that I come across want me to drop acting and I cannot. They love you but they cannot cope with your popularity. They can’t take you somewhere secretly, everybody will know you are there and a majority of them are married. It is not easy at my age to find somebody who is not married and they don’t want a popular woman because they don’t want their wives to hear about it. So that is a price to pay for being famous.
Lol @"Iyawo aye."

Svelteb:
This article will teach you some methods you can use to preserve and improve your eyesight.

Steps
1. Learn about how vision works. This way, you can understand what you are doing when you are retraining your vision. Improving your vision is a matter of changing the habitual way you see and use your eyes.
2. Get an eye chart. Place it on the wall so you can measure your progress. You can usually find one online.
3. Do relaxation exercises. Place your hands together palm to palm and rub them together briskly creating heat. Place them over your eyes and let your eyes relax. Imagine a relaxing place. Do not let light in. Do this whenever you have time during the day, especially when you're sitting at the computer.
Use alternating hot and cold compresses on your eyes daily to help relax them.
4. Maintain moisture. Maintaining the natural balance of moisture within your eyes is one of the most important things you can do to keep them healthy. Dry eyes can be itchy, red and even painful. Try to blink frequently, even when you are focused on watching TV or working on your computer.
5. Exercise your eyes. If you think about the way your muscles work, then you probably understand that the less exercise they get, the worse off you are. The same thing goes for your eyes. There are specific exercises you can do, that may be able to help you see better.
Use the 20/20/20 exercise. Every twenty minutes, focus on an object that's at least twenty feet away, for twenty seconds. You'll be surprised at how much better your eyes feel.
Put your thumb five inches away from your face and focus on it, after five seconds focus on something behind it. Do this for about ten times and whenever you have time.
6. Increase eye flexibility. If you have ever undertaken an exercise program or played a sport, then you know that flexibility is important. If you don't stretch, or if you use the same muscles over and over again without moving opposite muscle groups, you lose flexibility. If you have a job that requires you to spend long hours looking at a screen, be sure you focus on different objects periodically; try not to keep your eyes in the same position for too long.
7. Lower the brightness level of your computer screen. Lowering the brightness level of your computer's monitor can help your eyes to relax. Don't lower it so much that you have trouble seeing, and avoid positioning your monitor so there are reflections.
8. Take regular breaks. If your eyes must focus on a task for long periods of time, take regular breaks. Taking a ten minute break every hour can help prevent eye strain and give your eyes a chance to heal themselves.
9. Reduce stress. Every one of the body's systems reacts to stress differently. The eyes are put under constant strain and stress - the more TV you watch, the more you stare at a computer screen, and the more you play games on your smartphone, the more stress you put on your eyes. Make an effort to use natural light, and take time away from your gadgets. You might be surprised to find that you see and feel better as a result.
10. Get some sleep. You might have noticed that when you go for long periods of time without adequate sleep, you feel tired and head-achy. You also may have noticed that your vision seems blurry and that it almost hurts to keep your eyes open. Sleep is important for all your bodily functions, and getting adequate rest can assist in eyesight improvement since sleep allows overworked eye muscles to relax completely.
11. Protect your eyes from UV rays. Wear good quality sunglasses that provide UV protection, and your eyes will thank you. Amazingly enough, you can gain eyesight improvement, and look great - all at the same time!

Nutrition

1. 'Feed' your eyes. Just like the rest of the body, the eyes need good nutrition to function well. Carrots, kale, blueberries, apricots, and other foods rich in beta carotene are all good for your eyes. Stay away from junk food.

2. Stay hydrated. The average human body is made up of about 60% water, sometimes more. If your eyes are often dry, tired and blurry, try increasing your water intake. In addition, drinking plenty of water is important for your whole body.
3. Try taking Vitamins For Vital Vision. Help your eyes by getting plenty of vitamins A and C, as well as Lutein & Zeaxanthin.
Don't forget Omega 3's. Omega 3 fatty acids are essential nutrients that can help maximize your health. Most people know that they're good for your heart - what many don't realize is that Omega 3's can help keep your retinas healthy and stop age-related eyesight deterioration.

4. Take amino acids. Amino acids, especially Taurine, are essential for eye health. Amino acids protect your eyes from the free radicals that can cause damage over time - they keep eye tissue healthy and prevent eye deterioration.

Investment › Re: Investing In Dollars Vs Real Estate by Konquest:
SyberKate:
Mr A and Mr B were given a cash inheritance of N60 million each after the death of their rich grandfather in Year 2000. This was during the Obasanjo years when the Fx rate was about N120/$. The inheritance was worth about $500,000 - cool money!

Mr A, an entrepreneurial minded person, bought a very big house in VGC with the N60 million. The house has valid legal title and has obtained the “Governor’s Consent” on the Deed of Sublease.

The property earns N2M annually in cash from the house rent. This means he has made another N40M (N2M x 20 years) while also still owning his house. He saved his N60M rent income in Standard Chartered Bank.

Mr B, a career engineer with strong finance knowledge, went to EKO hotel to convert the money to dollars. He deposited the $500,000 into his bank account in Sterling Bank, the “1-Customer” bank.

Due to their interest to jointly apply for a bank loan, the two brothers invited to prepare a special statement of their net worth in NAIRA (and a separate one in dollars), based only on their real estate properties and bank balances.

Mr A‘s property at VGC has been valued at N80M based on a recent property valuation exercise that was done by Jeunkoku Olorinla & Co, a firm of Estate surveyors and valuers.

Although Mr A made a gain of N40M on his inheritance amount of N60M (worth about $500,000 when he collected his inheritance), the foreign exchange devaluation (from N120/$ to N360/$) has decreased the value of his VGC property down to $222,222

It would have been worse for Mr A if not for the property value appreciation during the 20-year period that has been recognised. But why?

However, Mr B was able to hedge the Fx risk by holding a US$ denominated asset whereas Mr A’s property was held in a property market that is Naira based and valued (even if he had used US$ to settle the payment for the property in VGC).

The takeaway is that HNIs in countries with currencies that are highly volatile (like Nigeria) must seek to balance their asset portfolio with a good currency spread to hedge against FX risks, in order to preserve value in their asset portfolio
Yup...

Medium-term to long-term investment by High-Networth Individuals in a basket of currencies and/or diversification in USD-denominated asset portfolios is the key here.

AfricanThings:
African Things have been very fortunate, but just like any other business; we have gone through many challenges. Internally, we had to deal with the high turnover rate of staff. As a small company, we do not have the money to pay for highly qualified staff and when we were able to get skilled graduates, they get experience and then moved on to other companies that could pay them more.

I also had to deal with quality control problems; we went through so many producers in hopes of finding the right partners who also had attention to detail and delivered quality on consistent bases. Even now we have to ensure that we put in quality control measures to ensure our producers never get comfortable with giving the bare minimum or expect us to ‘just manage it’.

Externally I still have challenges getting my target market to be aware of the company, building up brand awareness among giants like HP, Targus, and Compact, who also sell backpacks and laptop bags has been difficult. The real challenge is getting people to trust the brand and changing their negative image that Made in Nigeria products are of less quality.

The increased exchange rate also has a huge impact on the business as even though most of my products are made in Nigeria, I had to increase my prices, as 100% of my raw materials are all imported and increased in cost. I had a hard time explaining this to the stores I supplied to, as they felt I was taking advantage of the situation at the time.

Managing our accounts and inventory has and still is one of our biggest internal problems today. In the beginning days of the company, we did not have a company account, I was using my personal account and spending the money as quickly as it came in. I did not have any accounting system to know how much I was spending and if I was making a profit or not. I still remember the ‘eureka’ moment when I realized that I was not accounting for my travel expenses and I was only focusing on the production cost and had failed to look at all the other additional cost that went into running the business such as transport, mobile credit, marketing and more. I remember feeling like I made money but did not know where it all went.

We now use wave accounting to manage our finances and also an inventory management system to ensure that all our products are properly documented. We know where every product goes to and how much money we are spending. It is not perfect but with the aid of my training from Lagos Business School, I am getting more knowledge on what needs to be done.

The Sixteen Commandments Of Dating

I. Never say ‘I Love You’ first

Women want to feel like they have to overcome obstacles to win a man’s heart. They crave the challenge of capturing the interest of a man who has other women competing for his attention, and eventually prevailing over his grudging reluctance to award his committed exclusivity. The man who gives his emotional world away too easily robs women of the satisfaction of earning his love. Though you may be in love with her, don’t say it before she has said it. Show compassionate restraint for her need to struggle toward yin fulfillment. Inspire her to take the leap for you, and she’ll return the favor a thousandfold.

II. Make her jealous

Flirt with other women in front of her. Do not dissuade other women from flirting with you. Women will never admit this but jealousy excites them. The thought of you turning on another woman will arouse her sexually. No girl wants a man that no other woman wants. The partner who harnesses the gale storm of jealousy controls the direction of the relationship.

III. You shall make your mission, not your woman, your priority

Forget all those romantic cliches of the leading man proclaiming his undying love for the woman who completes him. Despite whatever protestations to the contrary, women do not want to be “The One” or the center of a man’s existence. They in fact want to subordinate themselves to a worthy man’s life purpose, to help him achieve that purpose with their feminine support, and to follow the path he lays out. You must respect a woman’s integrity and not lie to her that she is “your everything”. She is not your everything, and if she is, she will soon not be anymore.

IV. Don’t play by her rules

If you allow a woman to make the rules she will resent you with a seething contempt even a rapist cannot inspire. The strongest woman and the most strident feminist wants to be led by, and to submit to, a more powerful man. Polarity is the core of a healthy loving relationship. She does not want the prerogative to walk all over you with her capricious demands and mercurial moods. Her emotions are a hurricane, her soul a saboteur. Think of yourself as a bulwark against her tempest. When she grasps for a pillar to steady herself against the whipping winds or yearns for an authority figure to foil her worst instincts, it is you who has to be there… strong, solid, unshakeable and immovable.

V. Adhere to the golden ratio

Give your woman 2/3 of everything she gives you. For every three calls or texts, give her two back. Three declarations of love earn two in return. Three gifts; two nights out. Give her two displays of affection and stop until she has answered with three more. When she speaks, you reply with fewer words. When she emotes, you emote less. The idea behind the golden ratio is twofold — it establishes your greater value by making her chase you, and it demonstrates that you have the self-restraint to avoid getting swept up in her personal dramas. Refraining from reciprocating everything she does for you in equal measure instills in her the proper attitude of belief in your higher status. In her deepest loins it is what she truly wants.

VI. Keep her guessing

True to their inscrutable natures, women ask questions they don’t really want direct answers to. Woe be the man who plays it straight — his fate is the suffering of the beta. Evade, tease, obfuscate. She thrives when she has to imagine what you’re thinking about her, and withers when she knows exactly how you feel. A woman may want financial and family security, but she does not want passion security. In the same manner, when she has displeased you, punish swiftly, but when she has done you right, reward slowly. Reward her good behavior intermittently and unpredictably and she will never tire of working hard to please you.

VII. Always keep two in the kitty

Never allow yourself to be a “kept man”. A man with options is a man without need. It builds confidence and encourages boldness with women if there is another woman, a safety net, to catch you in case you slip and risk a breakup, divorce, or a lost prospect, leading to loneliness and a grinding dry spell. A woman knows once she has slept with a man she has abdicated a measure of her power; when she has fallen in love with him she has surrendered nearly all of it. But love is ephemeral and with time she may rediscover her power and threaten to leave you. It is her final trump card. Withdrawing all her love and all her body in an instant will rend your soul if you are faced with contemplating the empty abyss alone. Knowing there is another you can turn to for affection will fortify your will and satisfy your manhood.

VIII. Say you’re sorry only when absolutely necessary

Do not say you’re sorry for every wrong thing you do. It is a posture of submission that no man should reflexively adopt, no matter how alpha he is. Apologizing increases the demand for more apologies. She will come to expect your contrition, like a cat expects its meal at a set time each day. And then your value will lower in her eyes. Instead, if you have done something wrong, you should acknowledge your guilt in a glancing way without resorting to the actual words “I’m sorry.” Pull the Bill Clinton maneuver and say “Mistakes were made” or tell her you “feel bad” about what you did. You are granted two freebie “I’m sorry”s for the life of your relationship; use them wisely.

IX. Connect with her emotions

Set yourself apart from other men and connect with a woman’s emotional landscape. Her mind is an alien world that requires deft navigation to reach your rendevous. Frolic in the surf of emotions rather than the arid desert of logic. Be playful. Employ all your senses. Describe in lush detail scenarios to set her heart afire. Give your feelings freedom to roam. ROAM. Yes, that is a good word. You’re not on a linear path with her. You are ROAMING all over, taking her on an adventure. In this world, there is no need to finish thoughts or draw conclusions. There is only need to EXPERIENCE. You’re grabbing her hand and running with her down an infinite, labyrinthine alleyway with no end, laughing and letting your fingers glide on the cobblestone walls along the way.

X. Ignore her beauty

The man who trains his mind to subdue the reward centers of his brain when reflecting upon a beautiful female face will magically transform his interactions with women. His apprehension and self-consciousness will melt away, paving the path for more honest and self-possessed interactions with the objects of his desire. This is one reason why the greatest lotharios drown in more love than they can handle — through positive experiences with so many beautiful women they lose their awe of beauty and, in turn, their powerlessness under its spell. It will help you acquire the right frame of mind to stop using the words hot, cute, gorgeous, or beautiful to describe girls who turn you on. Instead, say to yourself “she’s interesting” or “she might be worth getting to know”. Never compliment a girl on her looks, especially not a girl you aren’t fucking. Turn off that part of your brain that wants to put them on pedestals. Further advanced training to reach this state of unawed Zen transcendence is to sleep with many MANY attractive women (try to avoid sleeping with a lot of ugly women if you don’t want to regress). Soon, a Jedi lover you will be.

XI. Be irrationally self-confident

No matter what your station in life, stride through the world without apology or excuse. It does not matter if objectively you are not the best man a woman can get; what matters is that you think and act like you are. Women have a dog’s instinct for uncovering weakness in men; don’t make it easy for them. Self-confidence, warranted or not, triggers submissive emotional responses in women. Irrational self-confidence will get you more pussy than rational defeatism.

XII. Maximize your strengths, minimize your weaknesses

In the betterment of ourselves as men we attract women into our orbit. To accomplish this gravitational pull as painlessly and efficiently as possible, you must identify your natural talents and shortcomings and parcel your efforts accordingly. If you are a gifted jokester, don’t waste time and energy trying to raise your status in philosophical debate. If you write well but dance poorly, don’t kill yourself trying to expand your manly influence on the dancefloor. Your goal should be to attract women effortlessly, so play to your strengths no matter what they are; there is a groupie for every male endeavor. Except World of Warcraft.

XIII. Err on the side of too much boldness, rather than too little

Touching a woman inappropriately on the first date will get you further with her than not touching her at all. Don’t let a woman’s faux indignation at your boldness sway you; they secretly love it when a man aggressively pursues what he wants and makes his sexual intentions known. You don’t have to be an asshole, but if you have no choice, being an inconsiderate asshole beats being a polite beta, every time.

XIV. Bleep her good

Bleep her like it’s your last Bleep. And hers. Bleep her so good, so hard, so wantonly, so profligately that she is left a quivering, sparking mass of shaking flesh and sex fluids. Drain her of everything, then drain her some more. Kiss her all over, make love to her all night, and hold her close in the morning. Own her body, own her gratitude, own her love. If you don’t know how, learn to give her squirting orgasms.

XV. Maintain your state control

You are an oak tree. You will not be manipulated by crying, yelling, lying, head games, sexual withdrawal, jealousy ploys, pity plays, shit tests, hot/cold/hot/cold, disappearing acts, or guilt trips. She will rain and thunder all around you and you will shelter her until her storm passes. She will not drag you into her chaos or uproot you. When you have mastery over yourself, you will have mastery over her.

XVI. Never be afraid to lose her

You must not fear. Fear is the love-killer. Fear is the ego-triumph that brings abject loneliness. You will face your fear. You will permit it to pass over and through you. And when your ego-fear is gone you will turn and face your lover, and only your heart will remain. You will walk away from her when she has violated your integrity, and you will let her walk when her heart is closed to you. She who can destroy you, controls you. Don’t give her that power over yourself. Love yourself before you love her.

***

The closer you follow the letter of these commandments, the easier you will find and keep real, true unconditional love and happiness in your life.

Comfort Konadu was accidentally transferred £90,000 after returning an item
Mencap staff said there was 'issue with the machine' during transaction in 2019
Konadu then transferred £57,000 into other accounts, including that of her son

A mother-of-six could be jailed for six months if she does not pay back £12,000 of the £90,000 which was erroneously paid into her bank account at a charity shop.

Comfort Konadu, 52, was accidentally handed the 'unexpected windfall' when she returned an item to a Mencap shop in Openshaw, Manchester, in October 2019.

She kept the error a secret and instead made a 'flurry' of transactions, moving a total of £57,000 into other accounts.

The bank were able to freeze some of the cash, but Mencap, which supports people with learning disabilities, lost more than £31,000.

It will recoup a portion of the losses after a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing was held at Manchester Crown Court.

Konadu, who previously received a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to theft, was ordered to pay back more than £12,000 of the money.

She could face six months in jail if she fails to return the sum within three months.

Konadu's sentencing hearing last September heard how she had let 'temptation' get the better of her when she spotted the cash in her account after returning an item on October 11, 2019.

The blunder was spotted soon afterwards, when managers were alerted to a sizable refund and an investigation was launched.

Staff at the Openshaw store said there had been an 'issue with the machine', and £90,047.19 was transferred to Konadu's account in error.

Two members of staff were suspended and later dismissed.

Konadu had returned an item to the Mancap store in Openshaw, Manchester, (above) on October 11, 2019, when the accidental transaction was made

The sum landed in Konadu's account on October 14, when she made the transfers including to an account belonging to her son.

Prosecutors said the £31,000 loss would represent up to 18 months' worth of profits for the charity shop.

Konadu's barrister said 'temptation got the better of her' and that she usually lives a 'modest and humble' lifestyle working as a cleaner.

She was sentenced to 20 months in prison, suspended for two years.

Judge Nicholas Dean QC told her at the time: 'You have brought shame on yourself, and I dare say to your family.'

A Proceeds of Crime hearing was heard by the same judge yesterday [April 20].

James Preece, prosecuting, said Konadu was found to have benefited from her crime to the tune of £14,319.38.

An investigation found she had an available amount of £12,761, which the judge ordered her to pay back.

The judge also made an order ensuring the charity gets priority in receiving the funds.

Judge Dean said on Tuesday: 'Today's hearing concludes the proceedings in this court, in relation to your guilty plea to theft.'

Ivynwa:
This write-up below will not only amaze you but will have you being careful when purchasing gadgets----some of them actually have spying devices that many are not aware of. In other words there is a possibility of others watching you/spying on you while you are innocently watching your television. Time to be careful by examining appliances and their capabilities before buying them.

9 Household Items That Could Be Spying on You

For people concerned about their privacy, the NSA data grabs are daunting, but what about the data grabs happening inside your own home, perpetrated not by the government, but by your coffee machine?

Consider every appliance and every piece of home electronics that you own. Does it gather data about how you use it? Does it connect to the Internet? If so, it could be used to spy on you. Your mobile devices, your TV, and now various other types of home appliances can be wired into a network that can track you. If those networks are hacked, information about your habits and behaviors could be available to people with nefarious goals. The same technological innovation that empowers us also makes us vulnerable to those who would exploit such advances against us.

Here are nine appliances and other systems inside your house that may be spying on you right now, or used to spy on you in the future.

1. Your Television

Ever wonder how your TV remembers what shows you’ve watched, which ones you plan to watch, and how long you watched last episode of “Homeland” before falling into nightmare-ridden sleep?

It does it all by connecting to the Internet. Therein lies its weakness. Computer Security firm ReVuln proved last year that it could hack Samsung’s newest televisions, accessing users’ settings, installing malware on the TVs and any connected devices, and harvesting all the personal data stored on the machine. They could even switch on the camera embedded in the TV and watch viewers watching the set.

Samsung says it patched the security flaw. That said, who’s to say that Samsung is the only brand to have experienced a security issue?

. Your Cable Box

Companies including Google and Verizon are reportedly developing cable boxes with built-in video cameras and motion sensors. The idea is that if the camera detects two people canoodling on the couch, they might be delivered ads for a new romantic movie, while a roomful of children would see ads for an Air Hogs remote control helicopter.

If that freaks you out, think what government intelligence agencies or hackers could do with such a device.

3. Your Dishwasher, Clothes Dryer, Toaster, Clock Radio and Remote Control

This may sound fantastical, but no less an expert on spying than former CIA Director David Petraeus believes that even mundane appliances like your dishwasher could soon be used to gather intelligence about you. Appliances including dishwashers, coffee makers and clothes dryers all now connect to the Internet. This helps the manufacturers troubleshoot performance and improve energy efficiency, and it gives owners the chance to order a fresh cup of coffee or a dry bin of clothes from their phone, computer or tablet.

Knowing when you make your coffee sounds innocuous enough, but that little piece of data could help snoopers geo-locate you, and learn your habits and schedule for all manner of malfeasance. Petraeus told a group of investors last year that such technology will be “transformational” for spies –could “change our notions of secrecy.” I think it could help criminals, too.

4. Your Lights

The same technology that enables monitoring of your home appliances also could allow would-be spies to monitor your lights. In addition to tracking your schedule, taking control of your home lighting system could help robbers invade your home by turning off the lights and keeping them off during an invasion.

5. Your Heat and A/C

The Nest thermostat tracks homeowners’ heat and air-conditioning habits, learns their preferences, and over time tweaks their HVAC systems to reach the desired results with the least electricity. Users also can change the settings via the Internet when they’re away from home.

Hackers already have started taking apart the Nest thermostat to customize it. Thieves and snoopers could do the same.

6. Security Alarms

For years, home security systems were hardwired to a service provider’s operations center. Now they are wirelessly connected to many users’ phones and tablets. This allows us to keep tabs on our homes at all times, from all places. But what’s the point of having a security system if robbers can hack it?

7. Insulin Pumps and Pacemakers

Forget about hacking your house. What about hacking your body? In 2012, White Hat hacker Barnaby Jack proved he could kill a diabetic person from 300 feet away by ordering an insulin pump to deliver fatal doses of insulin. This summer he announced he could hack pacemakers and implanted defibrillators.

“These are computers that are just as exploitable as your PC or Mac, but they’re not looked at as often,” Jack told Bloomberg. “When you actually look at these devices, the security vulnerabilities are quite shocking.”

8. Smartphones

Think of every spy gadget dreamt up by Q in James Bond films. Microphone, still and video camera, geo-locating device, and computer software that can steal your personal passwords, hack your bank accounts, hijack your email and take control of other devices.

Your smartphone has all these things. In addition, the U.S. military disclosed last year it created an app called PlaceRaider that uses a phone’s camera, geo-location data and its accelerometer to create a 3D map of the phone’s surroundings.

9. Your Tablet and Computer

Most tablets and computers have all the same tools as smartphones and some have even more. If your phone can spy on you, they can too. Even more so than our smartphones, we unwittingly stuff them with every imaginable tidbit of sensitive personal information from lists of passwords, to tax and financial information, to geo-tagged photographs, to the innermost secrets that we exchange with our friends.

Our privacy is threatened. Every day our most precious asset (our identity) is put at risk by us and those who wish to track our every movement, word, thought and search. We need a national conversation – where everyone participates – about just how widespread such monitoring has become. General Petraeus is dead on. Such devices could and inevitably will change our notions of secrecy. Let’s not simply opt for progress without proper safeguards.
